Keep the Wildlife Healthy and Well Spell

Needed:

acorns (20 or more)

Small twigs

Leaves

Sea salt

Three green candles

Pouch to hold everything

Steps:

🌿go outside and collect all your acorns, twigs, and leaves and place them in the pouch.

🌿back at home, set an altar and scatter some sea salt to purify your space, then place the three green candles in the center and light them.

🌿set the pouch in front of the candles and say:

“Spirits of nature, the magic you weave,

Bring power to this spell with acorns and leaves,

All of the creatures are healthy and free,

Bring total protection to all that we see.”

🌿let the candles burn all the way down then place the sea salt inside the pouch.

🌿on the next full moon, return to where you gathered your items and return them to nature, scattering them on the ground to ensure balance. The animals and insects will remain healthy and protected!

witch’s basil lemonade

basil is an herb i hold close to my heart as a witch, as it’s told in folklore that witches of old used basil to fly on their brooms. its magickal properties include steadying the mind, bringing happiness, love, harmony, and wealth.

lemons, rich with the aura of the moon, are excellent fruits for healing and cleansing.

to make basil lemonade, you will need:

☾ ½ cup rinsed basil leaves

☾ 3 tbsp. sugar

☾ 4 cups water

☾ ½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

in a bowl, combine the basil leaves and sugar. with a wooden spoon, crush the leaves with the sugar until crushed well. add water and lemon juice, and stir clockwise until the sugar is dissolved (about 2 minutes). add more sugar to taste.

strain out basil leaves and serve over ice.

PSA for Kitchen Witches

I just found this great resource for kitchen witches that tells you what produce is in season in your region. It’s called Seasonal Food Guide! You can use the website, OR they have both Apple and Android apps.

After looking through it briefly, I really love how clean, easy to navigate, and informative SFG is. You can browse all the produce in season now in your region, or you can search by specific foods/seasons.

It gives you a quick blurb about each food item and a chart showing its seasonality. The best part is that you can click the “Learn & Cook” button that brings you to a page with information on each food’s history, characteristics, cooking and gardening tips, etc. (In the app, you can also set a shopping reminder!)

I really like that it doesn’t overwhelm you with information right away, but its all at your fingertips if you just click a button.

I highly recommend this app for all my kitchen witches! Happy Harvest! Note: currently, it is only available for the United States.

Everyday ways to use Moon Water🌙

So you’ve made moon water and now you’re wondering, how can I use this in various ways? Here are a few I’ve thought of :D Keep in mind that these charged waters pack quite a punch– a little goes a long way. Use little and mix it with regular water to dilute :) (edit: dilution is necessarily when consuming, but can be done otherwise if you want the water to last longer. Only dilute with clean water) Regardless of how you choose to use it, keep your intent(s) in mind.

• painting & rinsing brushes • use while cleaning– whether it’s the bathroom, or waterproof items of your altar • use to clean crystals– preferably those that favor the moon (not all crystals can tolerate water) • add a drop or two in with laundry detergent (not in bottle, in machine where soap goes) • add a drop of two in with dishwashing detergent (add where soap goes in machine) • if you leave dishes to soak add some drops • add in cooking & baking • add a bit in tea or coffee • add to your water bottle, glass etc. • add to smoothies & shakes • (dilute and) make moon water ice cubes! • nourish your plants • use to rinse & cleanse face • use in homemade facial masks & scrubs • add to baths • add to warm water & soak feet (or hands… or both. treat yo self) • add to pet’s water • add to bird bath • add to bee feeders (shallow dishes with a mix of sugar & water, with lil stones for tired bees to rest on) • can be added to homemade rose water & other floral or herbal water infusions (if you use a bouquet/store brought flowers, there will most likely be pesticides on it; always read up on potential dangers before making these things) • I like to charge my stored rain, sea, stream etc. water under the moon to give them a boost! It works especially well with sea water of course :) (edit: rain, sea, stream, river etc. water should not be consumed FYI)

*Exercise caution: if you plan to ingest your charged water, make sure it is safe to consume! (Rain, river, stream etc. water isn’t safe to consume, many crystal infused waters aren’t safe [even tumbled ones are tricky as there could be an imperfection in the polishing that exposes the crystal] and same goes for floral or herbal infusions in water. Never give crystal, flower, or herb infused waters to animals! Research everything)*

Heal Your Heart Potion

A tea spell for getting past emotional pain/exhaustion and bringing in comfort and self love -💌

Collect: a mug, vanilla black tea (or black tea and vanilla extract), cinnamon, milk (or milk substitute), honey, rose quartz and/or amethyst

Take your mug and put in your tea bag with a sprinkle of cinnamon (and vanilla extract if you’re using that)

Fill up the mug with milk and heat it to your desired temperature

Take a heaping spoonful of honey and stir it in, clockwise to bring comforting/empowering energy and counterclockwise to banish negativity and emotional pain

Charge your tea with the rose quartz and/or amethyst

Sit down with your tea

Put your hands around the mug and feel the warmth and comfort

As you’re drinking the tea slowly, imagine it healing you from the inside out; targeting your emotions, your mind and your heart, and then radiating that energy to the outside

to do:

light your orange candle & place citrine nearby

make your coffee/tea and pour in the milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg
