Hi! If you like robots and/or Magic: the Gathering, you should come watch this video I made where I am incredibly autistic about robots for 30 minutes!
i will NEVER stop saying that gideon dying in WAR was a terrible direction/ending for his arc and that we were extremely robbed of amazing character development for both him and liliana because of it. they had a lot to learn from each other and now theyre never gonna have that..
if WAR had gone down exactly the same but without gideon dying, they wouldve actually had a chance to unpack why they both thought choosing to die was the right choice for themself but wrong for the other.
its the way they were both people who put on acts to cover their self-destructive tendencies but were uniquely immune to each others bullshit!! lilianas manipulation didnt work on gideon and his indestructible hero act didnt work on her. they could see right through each other.
they saw each other hurting and they saw value in the others life that they didnt see in their own because they were blinded by self hatred. by unpacking this theyd get to teach each other they both deserve to live, not only for their loved ones but because their lives have inherent value
So, the arena version of Jace still has a lot of metal and tentacles. The story only really mentions him having plugs still, but I assume the amount of metal on him is canon? If so, it's kind of weird that it's only found on arena.
I’m not sure what the deal is with two different versions, but the idea is that Jace isn’t fully healed. Getting the nuances of that across in art is tough - the markers on other formerly compleated were sometimes missed by folks, so maybe they decided subtle isn’t better.
The latest MTGLore.com update has added links for over 40 Magic books you can borrow to read for free on Archive.org!
The Thran, Distant Planes, the original Ravnica trilogy, The Brothers' War, Lorwyn, and... The Quest for Karn too, I guess. All 40+ options are listed in the [Patch Notes]!
Video below shows how easy it is to find and borrow the first Magic novel, Arena. (Archive.org account is required, but free.)
You enjoy reading Magic's story, I'll do my best to make it easy for you. Deal?
Finished Agents of Artifice, because you convinced me to read it, and choose to have everything but Ravnica not having guilds anymore, and just say the guilds are weak at that time, as canon. Really liked Jace's characterization, puts how he interacts with the Gatewatch in a different light.
Are the rest of the Planeswalker books worth reading?
yeah but The Purifying Fire isnt as good as Agents of Artifice.
don't listen to what anyone else tells you- Test of Metal is a good book. it's also horrible. but i absolutely love the book, even though it makes me want to throw up at times. i think it is 100% worth reading and i am not joking
Baltrice was a pyromancer Planeswalker and high-ranking employee of the Infinite Consortium under Tezzeret. On a mission with Jace, Baltrice committed the attack on the Nezumi village that left Tamiyo's adopted son Nashi orphaned. Baltrice was later killed by Liliana Vess
Legit question: As the #1 Jace expert i have a question for you.
I've seen alot of ppl read Jace & Vraskas desire for a child, as well as their whole monologue in the epilogues about how the multiverse leans tords cruelty' + the whole phonies wing things as like
sinister intentions/they.becoming the villains/antagonists soon and want to reset the multiverse?
is that the correct/most realistic reading in your opinion?
bc i certainly only read it as two ppl tired and wanting to have some.peace
They want to reset the Multiverse *because* they are tired and want peace. I would not say their intentions are sinister / evil, but they are misguided. They are certainly going to be antagonists- because other characters are Not going to want them to do this. The epilogue story was *not* Jace and Vraska getting their happy ending. It's only the beginning of their plan.
Read this passage again. Jace and Vraska believe the Multiverse is broken beyond repair. They want to wipe it clean of pain and suffering so they'll have a new world to raise their family in. This is a pretty bad idea. But I still stan 💙🖤💚
Just wanted to let you know that watching you on TTC's Jace episode turned me from a Jace appreciator, (which I only became from reading og Ixalan story), into a Jace lover. You've even convinced me to go read Agents of Artifice
