to you, it's a shitty sentence. to some random bitch 500 miles away, it's a fire line that'll haunt them for the next 17 years.
you don't know how impactful your writing is because it's been in your brain for far too long now. you've stared at it for hours and repeated "this sucks" over and over again to the point that you killed your capacity to feel anything about your work.
but trust me, once you get your shit out there, someone's gonna go over that paragraph you hate and go "jesus fucking christ" and put the book down to have an existential crisis.

REWARD REMINDER

This is a reminder to reward yourself.
My number one writing tip is that I believe every writer should give themselves a little treat after a big session. For me today, that treat was a box of Gushers. They were on sale. Yum yum.
I eat my Gushers and it reminds me that I worked hard and deserve to be proud of myself. I'm proud of you too.

Disa Love potion number 10
"Have you lost your brew bubbling brain?" Dwight looked from Gretta to Hexala. "You do know there is such a thing as communication in relationships instead of trying to fix everything with magic spells right?"
The doorbell rang and everyone's attention turned towards the door.
"I'll get it." Dwight shook his head walking over to the door. There was a gigantic bouquet of flowers in the shape of a heart filling the entrance. The delivery man's tan baseball cap was the only thing seen before he peered over the side.
"Delivery for..." they trailed, shuffling with papers, "Gretta Besieged?"
"Ooh! That's me!" Gretta bounded over to the door to look at the display.
The delivery man in his brown uniform pulled a clipboard out in front of the flowers with a pen in hand. "Sign here please." Dwight let out an exasperated sigh and signed the paper attached to the clipboard while Gretta dragged the menagerie of flowers into the entranceway.
"Have a good day!" the guy said before Dwight nodded with an awkward smile and shut the door.
"Wonder who those are from," Dwight said looking through the flowers, hoping to find a small card somewhere nestled in the bouquet.
"Come now, Sir Dwight," Gretta snickered "You needn't be so coy."
"Umm..." Dwight looked around and Hexala shrugged at him. "I don't know what you mean by that."
"Are these flowers not from you?"
Dwight shook his head, going back to his search. "Here it is, I found it! He slid open the lip of the envelope and pulled out the card tucked inside. "Looks like it's from--"
The doorbell rang again.

DISA Final Battle??!!
So I have only added a few lines from the last time I posted this. this is the part I've had for Sir Aldred. I've also added parts to the face-off against Ragana. so someone can ask for those if they feel so inclined because I am still struggling with what I wanna do with big bads:
Suddenly, Dwight felt his feet leave the ground. For a brief moment, he was flying But the sensation was quickly replaced by a sickening thud as he slammed into something, hard. Pain shot through his body as he landed, knocking the wind out of him. He was sure If he hadn’t broken any ribs, they were most likely bruised.
“Dwight!” Gretta yelled.
She watched Dwight as he groaned and sat up. Her eyes widened with his and he looked frantically around him, realizing he didn’t have the bottle of water in his hand anymore.
“Looking for this?” Sir Aldred asked, twisting the cap open. “Thanks for the water, I was rather parched.” He chugged the water down in a few gulps. “You know, you’ve really become a real pain in my side,” he said, crushing the bottle in his hand and throwing it somewhere behind him.
“The feeling is mutual, dude.” Dwight said, holding his side, standing up.
Gretta angrily drew her sword. Sir Aldred parried her incoming attack, knocking her sword from her hands. He aimed his sword squarely at Gretta as he walked over and kicked her sword across the room.
"I really tire of turning people into animals when they are this persistent." Sir Aldred spoke aloud, his blade moving in a slow circle towards the two. "I'm sure neither of you know how it feels to not only be trapped in a sticky bog, but to have a sticky bog monster eat you," Sir aldred put up two fingers. "Twice."
"Ew." Dwight commented.

THE SIGNED SHIRT HAS ARRIVED 😍🤣
The fact the other voice actors along with sloane signed this made me love all the voice actors even more
So last Saturday at my work was wild. I got to speak to Sloane Siegel from Dwight in shining armor / Gotham knights.
So there was a signing event for the voice actors from Gotham Knights in California last weekend. I posted it in a discord with my friends that I played Gotham Knights with. Since Gotham Knights came out in 2022 and all of these people are constantly busy now doing their own things and working on various projects, I was sure this was going to be a rare occurance. And with this event being in California and me living across the pond in Scotland now, I was kinda bummed.
What I didn't know at the time was one of my friends from that group that lived in Cali was trying to figure out if he could make it down there.
He did, but didn't know if he could until really last minute.
I got a message from him later saying he'd found the comic store they were doing the signing at but it was still super early and the place wasn't open yet.
Later that evening at work when I had gotten everything ready for us closing for the night I checked my phone and noticed I had gotten a missed call over discord.
You know when you have little things going wrong all day and they just pile up? This was that day. So when i got a call from my friend I was expecting he was calling to tell me something along the lines of he couldn't get the signatures. I called him back, expecting to hear just that.
He asked me if i was free and I said I had a few spare minutes. He told me he mentioned me to them while he got the signatures and the VA's all knew me from either me posting and rooting for them on all their work they were doing along with some of them even liking pics of my plushies I show off that I make 😱
What I had not expected was him to keep me on hold because he was going to give the phone to Sloane so I could talk to him!
My friend had asked Sloane if he knew someone that followed him on insta by the name of whogirl and he did. He told him he was there on my behalf since I was in Scotland. When my friend told him he had me on the phone and asked if he wanted to talk to me he was like: " I would absolutely love to talk to her." 💀💀💀
Then when he took his phone he instantly said "So THIS is the famous whogirl." 💀💀💀 Guys when I say Sloane Siegel is insanely sweet, it's an understatement. He answered questions and we had a lovely conversation about projects he's got in the works along with me living in Scotland. I told him Dwight in shining armor was my comfort show and I thanked him for that character and he told me it was a comfort show of his too 🥺🥺. He wished me a good rest of my day and my shift at work and hoped that he wasn't getting me into too much trouble since i was at work. (He wasn't, luckily my manager understood because when do you get a chance to talk to an actor on the phone?)
It definitely made my day. The month of March is rough for me for many reasons so this was definitely something that made this month so much better and definitely gave me a boost.
If anyone reading this is a fan of his like I am, please support his stuff. He voiced Robin / Tim Drake in the game Gotham Knights. He's in an independant band called ICYDAY making music with a fellow actor and friend David Bloom that was with him in gortimmer gibbons and another mutual friend named Isaac. Their music is on spotify and most streaming platforms now and at this time they have 3 songs out. He's currently working on a comic that's been in development for the last few years and I am really looking forward to seeing more of his writing. You can also watch episodes of Dwight in shining armor either on BYUTV for free in the US or across here in the UK on BBC I Player. He's also acted in various shows and movies you can find on IMDB.
I look forward to getting my signed item from all these amazing people in the mail and will update when I get it. But for now, here's a pic of the four from the event from the event organizer's insta.

He stopped and waited, eyes taking her in and her heart fluttered in her chest. Because she understood completely why all the second guesses, all the waiting for her reactions.
He’d always left everything up to her.
Now that we have our memories back, you might remember a conversation we had... In a toilet stall… um, Or... maybe you don’t remember…
She could’ve told him she had forgotten or it was silly and he would’ve laughed it off, gone back to things as normal. Without any hesitation or question because everything they’d done--- everything they were still doing--- it was all up to her. Power always came with being a Princess, but it was a completely different sensation behind your ribs when you held something like this boy's heart.

someone I follow on the bird app just announced they're starting a very exclusive private fic server because they and a bunch of other people want to talk about how much they love the fics they're reading, and as an author can I just say that a really great place to talk about a fic you love is in the comments for that fic
I understand that people are trying to create safe spaces, but as the number of comments that I get on my fics dwindles with each passing year, knowing these spaces exist where my fics are being discussed, places that I am excluded from, makes me want to write fic LESS
I mean I guess who cares, right, because if I stop writing, there's 10,000 other people that will continue...but if you participate in a fic "book club" server and you say nice things there about a fic you loved, maybe copy and paste that into a comment on AO3?
the only thing fanfic writers are asking for in return for hours of hard work is attention. please don't rob us of the one thing that we hope for when we hit "post"
