Confessions of an Eldest Daughter of a Single Mom
Alright first of all, this blog doesn’t mean it’s what EVERY eldest daughter of a single mom felt. No, of course not. It’s just about a dramatic (am I?) daughter that just needs someplace to let her worries out.
I’ll try to keep this less drama as possible ;)
Lately, I’m feeling pressured. Pressured with life and career. The thing is, I grew up with a happy and very lucky family. My dad’s a manager in his company and my mom’s a physical therapist- both with a promising salary. And when my dad died, all of it seems to go *poof* because my mom has already resigned by that time. I’m Asian. I’m a Filipino. and I’m the eldest. So it means, you help the family right after you graduate and find a work. This is the problem though, the career I picked isn’t as promising as what my parents had. Of course everything goes back to zero right after I’ll graduate from college. And I don’t even know if my mom’s willing to spare a bit of money for me while I job hunt. And I’m not even sure if I can get a job right away. I feel pressured having the thought that I’m even considering sacrificing my dream to study in Korea just so I can support the family. And even if I can get to spare a bit of money for myself to go to Korea, then it might take.. I don’t know, 3-5 years? So yeah, I guess I had to sacrifice one in order to get one which is sad but I guess that’s life.
I’m scared she’d fell out of love for us. I don’t know if I’m overthinking or what okay? I know she’s still human and that she can still fell in love with someone. But there are times I feel like she just wants to leave us and escape reality for a while. I can’t help but think, are we a nuisance to her now? Is she eager to let us go our separate paths? Does she want to start a new family without us? Is the reason why she can’t leave us is because it’s her responsibility? or is it because she just can’t? and so on
I’m still hoping that we can be back to the times. When it’s just happiness and all the things we need to worry is love. Yes, love instead of life. Or maybe that’s just what I’m hoping for me to just worry about.

[Blog] Is Your Doughnut Bag Authentic?
Doughnut bag may still not be a trend here in the Philippines but you can clearly see that it is now starting to grow. With a variation of prices, there are some physical and online stores that sell these adorable backpacks that you might come across if you are an avid shopper or a bag enthusiast like me and you might never know if what you bought is authentic or not considering its brand and price. Of course if you ask some sellers, mostly what they’ll answer will be that it is authentic and only a few would admit that it’s just a replica.
Personally, I have two Doughnut bags. One, a replica and the other one, original (bought straightly from Hong Kong). My replica bag is a Doughnut Macaroon Classic Pink x Navy that I had bought from a mall here in Legazpi City which is currently used by my sister since one of the reasons is that I never used it anymore for I liked my other bag better (and the fact that I’d also found out that it is not original).
The other one is my personal fave (on par with my Anello Nylon Mini Nude Pink) which I always use in school or even on my everyday trips, Doughnut Macaroon Mini Lavender x Rose. You can clearly see on my pic below how much love I’ve been giving to it since it’s dirty on some parts. (I’ve been hesitant on washing it for I’m afraid that maybe the water repellant would come off like what happened to my Anello Nylon bag)
WHAT IS DOUGHNUT?
Doughnut is a brand from Hong Kong and is known for offering bag products you can use in your travel or hiking adventure (in some cases, for school or everyday use) with its durability and water-proof materials.
Disclaimer: The below comparison is based on my own views and comparisons as I don’t have in any way a connection with Doughnut Official nor Doughnut Philippines as well as they do not have an outlet in Philippines, I could not guarantee that the bag I’ve received is an imitation. Manufacturing also vary by models; we cannot guarantee that what I’ve seen here applies to all models of Doughnut bags.
Since both bags are different model bags, there would be some adjustments in terms of comparing both of them. Bag A (Doughnut Macaroon Mini Lavender x Rose, Authentic) would be compared on Bag B (Doughnut Macaroon Classic Pink x Navy, Replica)
#1 Tags / Cards attached to the Bag
Typical Doughnut Bags that are brought back by in Hong Kong comes with 1 card attached to the bag via tag fastener.
Card: An open up tag out of board paper (I think?). Their famous tagline, “Pack Your Dream” can be seen on the left side and their mission with their official websites and pages on the right side. The color is a bit of a beige and off white card.
On Bag B, we found these differences:
– The size is square ___
– The color is pure white on front and macaroon on the back that can be easily erased as seen on the picture.
– Tagline and mission on one side on the left.
– On the back of the Branded card, product information which can’t be seen usually on other Doughnut Bags. The card on Bag B also includes the telephone number and address of the Company, which is usually not present on other Doughnut Bags.
- Side note: the ‘g’ on Bag B’s card is much smaller than the other character’s font size. I mean, come one! You’re just copying a brand why not exert it to your most effort right?
The only difference I can tell between the tags on the inside is that Bag A’s cloth is thicker than B’s.
#2 Logo
This is a bit hard to tell but as you can see, the logo should be hand stitched on its leather wherein the leather is supposed to not show any excess on the side and should be melted for proper framing. Unlike on bag B that has been hand stitched on synthetic leather that is easily to fold. The framing is also a bit off especially when you can clearly see the excess cloth on the side.
The hand stitching of Bag B’s also not symmetrical the way it should be.
#3 Material: Cloth
There’s not much of a difference between both bags if it’s about the clothing on the outside. Both are waterproof and durable however, Bag B’s cloth gets easily crinkled unlike Bag A’s. You can also feel the thickness of Bag A’s cloth when you scratch on it which can’t be seen on Bag B’s.
Talking on the inside shows a BIG difference. There should be a pattern of the brand’s logo and name on every part of the cloth inside the bag (even on the inside pouches). Since we are comparing two different bag models, the inside design of the front pocket is different to one another. However, you can clearly see that Bag B’s zipper is different than Bag A’s and that its cloth can be easily torn apart without any proper care. Maybe you should put limit things inside the pockets to prevent it from tearing apart.
#4 Material: Chains, Buttons and Leather
Regarding on the leather, Bag A’s more durable than Bag B’s maybe because Bag B’s leather are just synthetic. Bag B’s leather is also padded when hand stitched and easy to tear. Just like what happened to Bag B’s button on its handle. Bag A’s leather however can easily catch dirt unlike Bag B’s.
The snap closure of Doughnut should be big and matte (you must not see a reflection of yourself on the buttons.) There should also be a “⋆ GUANG ⋆ TONG” txt that can be found on one of the buttons.
This is the same as on the chains connecting on the bag handles. It should also be sturdy and matte and shouldn’t reflect any image or light unlike the chains found on Bag B.
NOW WHERE SHOULD YOU BUY DOUGHNUT?
If ever one of the sellers you’ve encountered says that they got it directly from factory, DO NOT BUY. From what I know, Doughnut doesn’t have any physical store YET here in the Philippines but you can buy them from ZALORA or their website https://www.doughnutphilippines.com/ I got mine from a friend who goes to Hong Kong from time to time and accepts pre-orders on Doughnut bags and such. Flashback Lane: 2NE1
Crossed along the LG Electronics commercial campaign ad “Lollipop” with Big Bang last 2009, I looked up into one of the girls’ familiar face called Dara. It was then that I realized that this was the In-or-out girl Sandara Park. What is she doing in a 4-member girl group when she has a career in the Philippines? Let us all the remember the fire girls that struck our hearts on a first glance.
SANDARA PARK
It was 2004 when a friend, Pauleen Luna encouraged Sandara to audition for Star Circle Quest, a reality-based talent search television program which she eventually finished in second place. Sandara then joined ABS-CBN's entertainment stable, Star Magic in the wake of her success in the show, with her projects ranging from commercial endorsements to television appearances. She then won "Best New Actress", her first acting award, at the 21st Philippine Movie Press Club Star Awards for her performance in her first film "Bcuz of U” (2004).
YG Entertainment offered Sandara workshop classes in South Korea after seeing the KBS Documentary My Name Is Sandara Park. In March 2005, Sandara accepted the offer, putting her career in the Philippines on hold. She later left the Philippines show business industry permanently and returned to South Korea with her family on August 1, 2007 and signed a contract with them the day after. To start a new life as she became the breadwinner of the family because of her father using the money she had for gambling and having another family besides them.
2NE1
YG formally announced that they’ll be debuting a 4 member girl group called 2NE1 – the name as meant as “To anyone” in English meaning 21st century and New Evolution on 2009. The members are CL (Lee Chae Rin), Park Bom, Dara (Sandara Park) and Gong Minzy
May 6, 2009 when 2ne1 finally debuted with song “Fire” which gained 1 million views within the first 24 hours of release and also topping on charts nationwide and chosen countries from around the world. They were called “Rookie Monsters” for achieving a lot of awards for a new artist. In fact, they were the first ever rookie group to win a daesang award, Song of the Year at the 2009 Mnet Music Asian Awards for their song “I Don’t Care” which is their second single.
2NE1’s CONTINUOUS AWARDS
Over the summer of 2010, 2NE1 traveled to Los Angeles and London in order to record English songs for an American debut album with The Black Eyed Peas's member and music producer will.i.am and they recorded a total of 10 songs in their initial sessions.
September 9, 2010, 2NE1 released their first ever full length album “To Anyone” and debuted as top 7 on Billboard World Album Charts which contains 12 tracks, 3 of them are title tracks that were promoted simultaneously and received a total of 11 wins from music shows for the whole promotion.
At the end of 2010, 2NE1 took home the "Artist of the Year" award and the "Album of the Year" award at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards, thus making them the only artist to win all 3 grand awards at the said award ceremony the only group to win 2 daesang awards at the same time.
2ne1 released their second EP with the title song “I Am The Best” that instantly went on top of the charts and them getting the Daesang “Song of the Year”award again in 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards. The group then took a break in promoting in Korea in preparations for their debut in Japan on September 2011.
The group then embarked on their first worldwide concert tour, the "New Evolution World Tour".The tour's first stop was made in Seoul on July 28, 2012, and made its first international stop in the United States on August 17 and ended in Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
February 26 2014, The group released their 2nd full length-album entitled “Crush” which includes 10 songs and 3 title tracks that were also promoted simultaneously. The album sets a new U.S record for "Highest Charting and Best Selling Kpop Album", beating other big groups like Girls' Generation and Big Bang. The group then had their 2nd worldwide concert tour, "All or Nothing World Tour", in support of their second studio album, “Crush”. The tour visits a total of 15 cities in 12 countries across East and Southeast Asia.
GROUP HIATUS
After a recent scandal outbreak on member Park Bom, the group had a hiatus on early 2014 and then had each member’s solo career with Bom on break.
Dara (Sandara), re-established her acting career throughout the web dramas “Dr.Ian” and “We Broke Up”, as well as KBS's “Missing You”. Being the dancer of the group, Minzy opened a dance school by the name of 'Millennium Dance Academy' during the hiatus. CL pushed through her solo debut in America and released the single "HELLO BI+CHES" from her upcoming EP Lifted
The group however made a surprise event when they perform their hit songs "Fire" and "I Am the Best" at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong. After CL's performance of her solo singles "The Baddest Female" and the newly released "HELLO BI+CHES", the performance is now the most-viewed MAMA performance by a girl-group but that didn’t mean that they’ll be having a comeback.
MINZY’S DEPARTURE, GROUP DISBANDMENT AND FINAL RELEASE
3 memorable dates were left in the heart of the Blackjacks (2ne1’s official fanclub name) on the year 2016 and 2017 when they hoped for a comeback but soon got their hearts broken when YG Entertainment confirmed that Minzy did not re-sign her contract and was officially leaving the group, and stated that the group will carry on as a trio. Fans were supportive of Minzy as much as the left members were to her when she voiced out her apologies on her birthday.
Still, Blackjacks were hoping for a comeback after hearing the news that 2ne1 will still continue as a trio but was again shattered when YG officially confirmed the disbandment of 2ne1 last November 25, 2016 since only CL and Dara were the only ones that renewed their contracts.
2ne1 however doesn’t want to leave Blackjacks out of nowhere and released a song for the last time as a thank you and goodbye for their fans entitled “Goodbye” written by member, CL which she also said that it was originally a song dedicated for ex-member Minzy.
Fans were still hoping for a reunion in the future since it is clearly seen that each member really love being a 2ne1 member. Dara still uses her 2ne1 mic whenever she performs songs (there are times when she still introduces herself as a 2ne1 member which is very heartwarming) , Bom is now interacting with some Blackjacks ensuring that she will still continue on singing and CL is currently touring around US singing their famous song “Come Back Home” as one the tracklist of every event.

This is a post about my thoughts on the recent released song of the famous kpop boygroup BTS, “Spring Day”. The song is so sad and it left me a big impression and it also didn’t helped when I just watched the MV and their stage performances.
Before I start, I just wanted to make clear that I am not an ARMY (fandom of BTS) but I am a fan and I really respect the boys :)
Do listen the music while reading this! (I made this article while listening to the song, it helps in making me put more emotions on this post).

First line of the song already made me want to cry. The way RapMon sang it holds a lot of sorrow in his tone, I can definitely feel the emotion of the song.
보고 싶어 (bogoshippeo) means “i miss you” in korean but in a informal tone. Meaning that RapMon is talking to someone who is very close to him, a friend or a family. Yet the way RapMon sang used 보고 싶다 (bogoshipda) which holds a deeper emotion and longing rather than “bogoshippeo”.

I think this verse talks about on how much longer will he hold the longing in himself. Winter is known for its coldness, which is maybe a metaphor about the coldness he feels missing his friend.
I also did a little research and bump myself into a theory from byeoltan.tumblr.com which explains that “ 설국열차 is the korean title for the movie ‘snowpiercer’, also the name of the train in the movie that holds the last remnants of humanity after an attempt at climate engineering in order to stop global warming has unintentionally created a new ice age. essentially, ppl in the train thought no life can exist outside of the train, not knowing there is (a polar bear), which showed up at the end of the movie. i thought it was brilliant how namjoon referenced this movie, it’s like he’s saying no matter how hard circumstances can be, no matter how hard you think you have it, there is always hope, there is always a way out, there’s always spring after a cold cold winter”

Okay, this line made me go “woah, is the friend dead?” which also made my heart swell and like forcing my eyes to release some tears. It just shows on how he regretted himself that if only he was a bit faster, maybe he could’ve reached his friend earlier.

This part made me think whether the friend was gone at the end of the winter or maybe at a day in spring. Which clicked a something inside of me, it’s a little bit of relatable to the Sewol tragedy. 8:49 a.m. of April 16, 2014 (which is in the spring season), the ship made a sharp turn, turning more than 10 degrees within one second, according to the ship's Blackbox. The ship was carrying 476 passengers, as well as several trucks and container cargoes. Vast majority of the passengers--325 to be exact--were second grade students from Danwon High School, a high school in Ansan, a suburb of Seoul. 174 out of the 476 survived. Out of the 325 students of Danwon high school, only 75 survived.
Although it’s just an assumption. For what I know so far, BTS didn’t confirm whether the song it relates about the tragedy or not (since this topic is really controversial to the country and might make them blacklisted - they even kept their and the company’s 100M won donation to the sewol ferry tragedy a secret)

Suga’s part is where a single tear dropped from my eye (no joke) this part obviously tells that they shouldn’t keep on holding on to the feeling of longing to them and that they should just let go. It’s that bittersweet sadness feeling of “I’d rather forget you and be empty rather than remember you and be lonely” feeling. And then comes the next part where Jin and Jimin didn’t help when they sang

Guys, this last part doesn’t really help on calming myself throughout the song. V says that it’s just not a friend that he lost but a bestfriend (cue the tears). And he’s making it sure that even any sufferings has an ending to it.
What I did notice though that they always repeat the last part (not just because it’s a chorus) but maybe because they wanted to emphasize that “stay there and wait for me and let’s end this suffering together”

[Read Recommendation] Akatsuki No Yona
Why should you read Akatsuki no Yona? Because it’s worth the read! Akatsuki no Yona (translation: Yona of the Dawn; synonim: Yona: The Girl Standing in the Blush of Dawn) is my most favorite manga of all time! It even replaced the top 1 in my list which is Ouran High School Host Club (that being second now) This manga is worth investing your time for just a single read a day each month. With 30-50 pages per chapter and mesmerizing arts. Who wouldn’t fall in love with the red haired princess and her companions?
Let’s start with the story,
Yona is the sole princess of the kingdom, living the luxurious and carefree life as a princess should. She has it all: the finest clothes and cosmetics, the most divine sweets, a loving emperor as a father, and the hottest cousin crush, Soo-won, anyone could ever hope to have. But her nearly perfect world quickly shatters as the man she loves, Soo-won, murders her father and the path to his ascension to the throne is assured. Son Hak, her annoying bodyguard escapes with Yona, and they lead a life on the run from that point on. Now, she is set for a quest in finding the legendary dragon warriors to accompany her in her life. Would she get back the throne and avenge her father? or would she rather hide in the shadows as her first love rules over the country, Kouka.
The introduction of the plot of the story is kind of boring for a first impression read but as you go along the manga, you wouldn’t even consider it boring. Yona started off as an annoying weak girl that people would think that it is the typical reverse harem girl who seems naive in what she should be and who she should be. Yet Yona made effort in standing out her own name. The supporting characters also ended up as just a supporting characters for the protagonist. Yona made sure that she doesn’t want to rely more on her bodyguard and her companions but she also wanted to protect them. (Salutes for women’s empowerment)
THE ART
Mizuho Kusanagi won’t disappoint you. From the faces of the characters to the details of the background. You can really tell that the manga revolves around somewhere in the past and history. The structures of the buildings and the clothing of the people’s what screams out historic. You can also easily tell whether this guy is rich or not just by how the artist drew him. Mizuho also exerts efforts in her designing by putting small details even though it isn’t relevant enough for the story which I give her a thumbs up for that! If you would start re-reading the manga again (like what I mostly do), you would also notice that the manga started off with a common art like how every other manga would have but as you get along, you could also see some developments in her own art you cannot just tell on what chapter it started to develop

CHARACTERS
My favorite part of this manga is of course the characters. Even though there’s a lot of characters in the story, each character is given well-fair of attention and each character has been introduced with a complete background of their personality and character, each character also has shown a lot of development in themselves which made my heart really be attached to them. A lot of things have happened to the team that one person missing seems incomplete in their part also. The best thing also is that they don’t call each other as a travel companions but a family (ahhh my heart!)
ENJOYMENT
I really love this manga. They can be serious when it needs to be serious and they can also give a lot of comedy. You can never feel any gap in the story nor any “meh” moment when something happens. What’s more is that every chapter always ends with a cliffhanger which made you stay put in one seat for one time just so you can read the next chapter to satisfy your crave, altough you have to wait for next month’s update right after you finish reading the latest chapter which means = one month of cliffhanging feeling.
OVERALL
Need I say more? Overall, 10/10! Romance, comedy, action and drama in one! Even if this manga is shoujo (manga recommended for girls) and reverse harem (three or more men revoling around one female), that won’t stop even the guys to admire the story. Every male in the story would make you more devoted to the series and even Yona’s smile would make you stay together with her quest.

[Blog] My Battles With Kimchi
I just used a stereotype there. The thing is, when people hear the word “Korean”, mostly what comes in their mind is Kimchi, which I did use a while ago. But the thing is, this is not just a battle I had with Kimchi but the battle I also had with other Korean foods. Yes, food. Basically, this blog is all about my first experience in eating Korean foods.
I had my first in a Korean restaurant here in Legazpi City on the 2nd floor of Yashano Mall called “Mr. Samgyupsal” where they sell variations of foods be eat teokbeokki (spicy rice cake), ramen, omurice (omelet rice) and of course, Samgyupsal (pork belly meat).
The thing is, I don’t like spicy foods. I never liked them so why am I sitting in front of unfamiliar side dishes with the smell of chili flakes? Experience. And also challenge. I want to say that I am a flexible eater who doesn’t have any conditions and demands when it comes to eating, (plus the fact that I wanted to visit in Korea so I just have to get used to what they eat right?)
Me and my friends ordered the samgyupsal set good for 4 and had an additional order of cheesy ramen, omurice, teokbeokki and bibimbap (mixed rice). Along with the samgyupsal set comes with unlimited side dishes like egg, pansit, cucumber with chili flakes and yes you guessed it right, kimchi. They were the first to come in the table and me being the hungry person I am had no choice but to eat everything which I had to admit doesn’t suit to my taste especially the cucumber with chili flakes and kimchi. I didn’t like the smell nor the taste but yes it tasted good. It just doesn’t really suit my taste.I reflected a little and said “But Koreans are proud with their kimchi, so I had to appreciate their food” so I took another bite again, this time though I didn’t spit it out but had to hold my breath so that I can’t digest the smell of it and made it seem like it doesn’t taste anything (it works really, I tried this technique a lot of times everytime I drink some medicines) it made me realize soon after I swallowed that there are still a lot of things I have to discover. Like, kimchi and the foods I have already eaten are only at least 1%-3% of what their still left in the world to eat.
Now the fun part starts. You see, Korean foods’ spiciness aren’t like the spiciness of Filipino foods. It’s spiciness can be felt in your tongue and throat rather than your mouth and lips. And that is what I love about in this food adventure. I LOVE THEIR TEOKBEOKKI. Even if it’s spicy, that gummy texture with their sauce and cheese is definitely daebak (the best). What’s more is when you add it together with their meat. Oh my. Thinking about it now made me crave for them again. Now let’s talk about the ramen. I like the ramen but it’s too spicy for me. I took a sip of their soup only to made me cough and leave an itch in my throat. Yes, it’s that spicy. Maybe they added too much chili? I don’t know. It’s such a bummer though because I really like the taste of the soup. Maybe I’ll try it again next time. In fact, I’m still a level 1 baby in this challenge where the ramen is what I consider the boss of this level.
I’ll definitely be back next time. But for now, signing off and on my way to try the legit Korean foods served in the new Korean restaurant here in Legazpi, Chef Lee.

[Blog] The Struggles I Have As A Scoliotic Person
I discovered that I had scoliosis back then when I was in my sixth grade not through my family but from a tailor who was fitting my body for my costume in some school presentation. She noticed that my back seems to be unbalanced even if I did my proper posture. My right side seems to be more slouched than the left side. My mom then got me checked up and later got diagnosed with a 21 degree S-curve scoliosis. I panicked back then because I was still a child afraid to be limited in some things. That’s when I finally got to do some exercise, swimming and had to wear a brace.
But it was in my 3rd year of highschool when I started to rebel against my illness. (Should I call that illness?) I stopped wearing my brace and I started using backpacks (even if my doctor told me not to) but It’s not really that heavy though so I really don’t get why I am not allowed to use it. It was only in during cold nights that I wear the braces and also whenever my back aches. Until I started to outgrow them with having no funds to made one again for the recent me.
So these are some 5 struggles I have as a scoliotic person:
1. Back pains in cold nights/days
I am not kidding when I say “Ang sakit ng likod ko” Girl, when I say my back aches, then my back aches! It’s like having something force its way in my back, and by back I mean, either lower right or upper right, the back of my ribcage or sometimes, even my shoulder blade, NOT THE SPINE (that never happened to me and hopefully I won’t experience it) especially during cold nights/days. Okay, Sometimes, I do experience back aches even if it’s not cold BUT I do experience them always whenever it’s cold.
2. Back pains whenever carrying one bag
I always carry a lot of things whenever I go out. A planner, some pens, wallet, keys, phone, comb and ponytail, alcohol, a pocket mirror and my lucky panda stuffed toy (it’s essential, don’t ask). I feel incomplete if one of those stuffs weren’t in my bag so this is also one of the reasons why my bag is heavy which resulted to yes, back pains. That is why I used one backpack and one handbag to divide them in order to carry them lightly. Which can sometimes lead to an another troublesome event which is…
3. “Bakit ang dami mong dala?”
LIKE I SAID, I CAN’T CARRY HEAVY THINGS SO I MUST CARRY TWO LIGHT BAGS. And NO! Don’t even get started on telling me that I should bring less things ‘cause I can’t. I tend to fidget alot whenever I forgot to bring one of my essentials that I can’t even concentrate straightly or be productive enough for the day unless I got that missing thing. (I am also a bit of suffering in OCD)
4. Struggling in finding a comfortable sleeping position
This is not the usual event where everybody also experiences it. Every posture matters in me in order to prevent the degree of my curve to worsen either in sitting, standing and yes, lying. So even if I have to do these position, sometimes I can’t because boom back aches (or sometimes side aches?)
5. Insecurities
I can’t help it. I’m also a human, I get hurt and insecure in things. There are times that I just find it unfair whenever girls could freely wear sleeveless, tubes and even backless dresses or shirts. Why can’t I do that? Oh wait, I can but people would just stare at me ooorrr my back. I am slowly starting to fight my insecurities though. I started wearing sleeveless and off-shoulders whenever I felt confident but there are just times that my mind is just so stupid and loud. grr.
The 5 struggles I experience doesn’t really says that every scoliotic person experienced it too. People just think that I am one of those guys flexible enough to do everything even if I’m not physically capable of doing doing it (but that doesn’t mean that I am physically disable) Because no, I am just not flexible and is really stupid enough to take care of myself back then which I regret fully.
May this hopefully serve as a reminder to not only for the people like me, but also to everyone, that to always maintain proper posture and exercise daily. This may sound cliche but yes prevention is better than cure.

[Anime Review] Haikyuu!!
I did say that I wanted to enhance my writing skills by practicing myself from being “biased” especially if my first ever review would be an anime I really love and hold dearly. Soooo I do hope this review would help you know more about the anime itself and (hopefully) be interested in it. Don’t worry! This post is a free-spoiler review post (Well, I’ll try)!
Before I start, please do take note that this review is from a girl who doesn’t know anything about sports especially voleyball since I am so afraid of flying balls. So your opinion won’t satisfy nor affect my point of view and opinion in this anime.
Honestly, this anime is one of those “this doesn’t seem to be an interesting” type of anime according to its sypnosis. A friend of mine even have to force herself into shoving her laptop in my face just so I could took an interest in it. But I swear, first episode of the anime is enough to let you get hook on it!
Story: 8
Let’s start with the plot. A bunch of volleyball guys from a used-to-be powerhouse school aims for the nationals representation. Normal yes, it’s your typical sports anime. But what makes it unique is that the protagonist of the story is a 164cm guy who has a strong agility, reflexes and jumping skills. Usually, volleyball is a sports given to people with a tall height (from what they say, but I only found this out because of the anime) so the protagonist, Hinata Shouyou, wanted to prove us wrong that even if he’s small, he can fly.
Another thing interesting in the story is that Hinata’s rival back in his third year in middle school, Kageyama Tobio, now also stands beside him on the same side of the court since they were now both in the same high school and in the same sports club! This shows one major impact that teamwork is definitely a must in order to make a team stronger. So the story goes along with Hinata getting along with Kageyama and at the same time, treating him as his rival. (I find this cute actually because Hinata is so in-denial to admit that he views Kageyama as the strongest player he had ever met)
I also like how the anime explains to you the basic rules and positions of the sports along with cute animations at the time you need to know it instead of dumping it to you on one-go which made me appreciate the sports voleyball (and made me regret on running away from it back in my high school days)
Characters: 7
Since it’s a sports anime, of course it would focus on more about the team rather than the main character itself which is okay.
Hinata’s character is your typical idiot, happy-go-lucky and voleyball addict person who literally finds everything about voleyball amazing. He didn’t usually have a character development not until the last 3 episodes.
The only character development I can see in this anime according to how major it happened in this anime are from Kageyama,(from being the bossy character himself to finally getting along with his teammates) to Asahi (in overcoming his fear of being blocked whenever he spikes) and Sugawara (by having the feeling of inferiority to the first-year genius setter Kageyama). There’s nothing much about the characters from the rest of the team that made you want to make them your favorite unless they form a cute friendship with another teammate or a little bit of a bromance. Maybe because it was still the first season?
Animation: 9
The animations were amazing but you can notice a little flaw on the background of some specific scenes that you cannot notice unless you pause it and stare on it. What bothers me though were how wide the characters their legs were everytime they were waiting to receive the ball. I mean don’t you think it would be hard to move though? But maybe it’s just me.
Sound: 10
No questions asked, the sound were great from background music to the timing of their spiking sounds and ofcourse the screams of the voice actors in play.
Overall: 9/10
I loved the anime! It was such a rollercoaster of emotions from comedy to devastating. The fact that me a person who doesn’t know a lot about sports besides badminton made me love such a sports anime. You’d love every character of the anime even their rival team on every match would make you want to support them together with Karasuno (Hinata and Kageyama’s high school).

What is a fan? And what does it take to be a fan? On my basis, a fan is when you get to discover something either from the television, internet, book, or just a simple gossip from your classmate and then you get to engage more of it. It’s hard for you to leave it because once you have entered a basic fandom, there’s no escape. Many people think that it is easy to be a fan but no! You get to sacrifice a lot, push a lot of effort for your idol and unintentionally get your heart broken. And the worst thing a fan should ever received or heard from someone? “You will never get to meet your idol.”
Being a fan is indeed fun. You get to meet new friends, be involved with a new family, and have someone to look up to, be it an inspiration or motivation. But sometimes you kind of get to push of the limit of being a normal fan to obsession. You wanted to get to know more of your idol. And when some hater just bash him, you get all protective to him and defend him and just made an enemy. You buy almost all of their products-official or not. You get to ship them with someone. You also get to be introduced to the fan-fiction blogs of different kinds of fan. Where a fan meets her idol, he falls in love with her, they get to have different kinds of trials with his popularity, they broke up, tried to move on, faith let them meet again, and lives happily ever after. You also sacrificed your time surfing the net (sometimes you just leave your homeworks). And you will do all your best just to meet him. But my point is, WHO or WHAT are you to him?
Being a fan makes you optimistic yet pessimistic. You get to imagine things that might happen to you with him, but deep inside you feel like its impossible even if it is somewhat possible. You know a lot about him, you love him so much, you make him an inspiration. But who are you to him? Nobody. Because to him, you’re just an another fan.
