Hello! I don’t want to sound insane, but I think about this blog now and again and was wondering how you were doing?
Don’t feel pressured to answer or anything! This blog has had an impact on my life (positive), so I just wanted to check in and see if you’re doing okay!
Wishing you happiness and health in your journeys :3
I can’t tell you how much it means to me to hear that. It’s also just super touching that there are still some followers on here that check up on me once in a while. 💕
I’ve been working a lot on myself lately! For the past few years or so I struggled pretty deeply with severe anxiety and it’s gotten really really bad in the past year or so, but I have started taking medication and going to therapy and I’m noticing a positive shift!
I haven’t forgotten this blog and no matter if I decide to revive or not, it will always be here. There have been a few times where I got the urge to just delete it, but I don’t think I could ever truly follow through with that. I hope that gives you some comfort! And you or anyone else is very welcome to reach out to me on my main ( @nightbloodbix ) as I do post pretty frequently about ocs and writing. Jayde and Nadya content has been popping up more and more on there, too!
I hope you are also doing well, and thank you again for the kind words and for reaching out 💕

Hey there,
Hope you’re doing okay, it’s been almost a year and I hope it’s been kinder to you. You’ve got people in your corner, and they’re all wishing you the best :)
First of all, wow I can’t tell you how moved I am that anyone still thinks about me or this blog after basically a whole year. Thank you so much for your kindness in this message, it made me tear up a little ngl 💕
Secondly, this year has definitely still been one of the more challenging ones overall, but creatively I have really started to thrive again. I’m still not sure when or if I’ll be active on here again, but I can say that I’ve recently been trying to rebuild my relationship with this story. It’s a bit slow going and a lot of it is me just working my way backwards and trying to refresh it in my minds eye, but I am making progress and remembering why I loved it so much.
In the mean time I am very active on my main blog @nightbloodbix with oc content if that interests you, though it is mostly fandom ocs nowadays. Jayde and Nadya have been sneaking in here and there and hopefully I’ll post about them more!
Thank you again so much. I really appreciate you and I am sending nothing but love right back 💕💕💕

End of year personal reflection:
So I know I haven’t been active on here in a hot second and it’s gonna continue to be that way for a while. This year has been one of the hardest I’ve experienced and it’s crippled a lot of my creativity, especially my relationship with this story. I’ve had a lot of really bad days where I almost want to just delete this blog and move on. I’ll never do that, but I do need to have true separation from it. I’ve tried multiple times in the past to take breaks, but I’m always so desperate to feel the way I used to about my original writing that I try so hard to force myself back into it to only feel disheartened again.
Honestly, I don't know if I'll ever be in that good place I was in a couple years ago. I miss the personal connections I used to have with certain people over this story. It made my little fictional world feel even more vibrant and alive and not having that anymore makes it feel lonely and hollow.
I hope the new year is kinder to me. I hope I'm able to have friendships like that again. And I hope I can actually mend whatever part of me that broke my love for this project. <3

If Nadya doesn’t need the glasses anymore, is she gonna get the clear lenses so she can still wear them for Jayde?
She absolutely does get clear lenses! It’s partly for Jayde, but it’s also a way for Nadya to remain connected to her human past. She feels really odd not needing glasses anymore and it’s sort of another jarring aspect to becoming a werewolf, so they help her feel less anxious

*grabby hand motion* you should give a fun fact about your OC’s?
Oh, can do!!
Nadya —
I’m pretty certain Nadya is likely a demisexual lesbian. I realized this a while back while going over her history with crushes and whatnot. Jayde is her first relationship, but that wasn’t for a lack of interested parties in her past. Nadya based all of her focus and energy on her career, so dating around was really never on her radar. It actually doesn’t really cross her mind at all until she forms an emotional attachment with someone. Like for instance, she doesn’t realize she’s attracted to Jayde for several days after meeting her, specifically once they’ve bonded, and she has a moment of “oh right I’m gay” Now I’m still learning about the ace spectrum/demisexuality (mostly trying to figure out where I land) so I may have it all wrong, but it does feel right for Nadya’s character.
Jayde —
Jayde’s favorite season is winter for one very specific reason: her fur is white. Snow is literally the only time she’s able to blend in to her surroundings. On patrols or any other mission where stealth is an advantage, she has to work extra hard in wolf form because she sticks out like a sore thumb. Plus side is that she’s gotten really good at being light on her feet and keeping out of sight, but my god she hates her fur color. Both of her parents had variants of brown in their coats and Skye was lucky enough to inherit that as well, but Jayde’s grandmother was also a white wolf and she drew the short genetic straw there. She is a gorgeous wolf though and Nadya reminds her of that.
Skye —
Skye really loves the water. She swims in the lake by the Lodge all the time or splashes around in the river. Her mother used to call her a water wolf as a kid cause once Skye got into any kind of water — pond, pool, lake, even bathtub — she would be in there for hours. But everyone pays the price for that when she swims in wolf form because werewolves can and will smell like wet dog lol. Skye could not care less about that though. She might even do it on purpose sometimes.
Toby —
Toby and his younger brother, Luca “Luc”, were primarily raised by their sister, Celina. She watched over them quite a bit while their parents managed an entire pack and the construction of the Lodge. In a lot of ways, Toby and Luc view her more as a parent than a sibling. Toby is more concerned about disappointing her than their parents. He is very much the black sheep of his family, and Celina was not blind to his struggles. She was the one that opened the door for him find his own way in the world.

Weird Questions for Writers (because writers are weird)
1. What font do you write in? Do you actually care or is that just the default setting?
2. If you had to give up your keyboard and write your stories exclusively by hand, could you do it? If you already write everything by hand, a) are you a wizard and b) pen or pencil?
3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?
4. What’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral?
5. Do you have any writing superstitions? What are they and why are they 100% true?
6. What is your darkest fear about writing?
7. What is your deepest joy about writing?
8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?
9. Do you believe in ghosts? This isn’t about writing I just wanna know
10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?
11. Do you believe in the old advice to “kill your darlings?” Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve?
12. If a genie offered you three writing wishes, what would they be? Btw if you wish for more wishes the genie turns all your current WIPs into Lorem Ipsum, I don’t make the rules
13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you write about? What is easy?
14. Do you lend your books to people? Are people scared to borrow books from you? Do you know exactly where all your “lost” books are and which specific friend from school you haven’t seen in twelve years still possesses them? Will you ever get them back?
15. Do you write in the margins of your books? Dog-ear your pages? Read in the bath? Why or why not? Do you judge people who do these things? Can we still be friends?
16. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever used as a bookmark?
17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.
18. Choose a passage from your writing. Tell me about the backstory of this moment. How you came up with it, how it changed from start to end. Spicy addition: Questioner provides the passage.
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?
20. If a witch offered you the choice between eternal happiness with your one true love and the ability to finally finish, perfect, and publish your dearest, darlingest, most precious WIP in exactly the way you've always imagined it — which would you choose? You can’t have both sorry, life’s a bitch
21. Could you ever quit writing? Do you ever wish you could? Why or why not?
22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?
23. Describe the physical environment in which you write. Be as detailed as possible. Tell me what’s around you as you work. Paint me a picture.
24. How much prep work do you put into your stories? What does that look like for you? Do you enjoy this part or do you just want to get on with it?
25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place?
27. Who is the most stressful character you’ve ever written? Why?
28. Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?
29. Where do you draw your inspiration? What do you do when the inspiration well runs dry?
30. Talk to me about the role dreams play in your writing life. Have you ever used material from your dreams in your writing? Have you ever written in a dream? Did you remember it when you woke up?
31. Write a short love letter to your readers.
32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you?
33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate?
34. Thoughts on the Oxford comma, Go:
35. What’s your favorite writing rule to smash into smithereens?
36. They say to Write What You Know. Setting aside for a moment the fact that this is terrible advice...what do you Know?
37. If you were to be remembered only by the words you’ve put on the page, what would future historians think of you?
38. What is something about your writing process YOU think is Really Weird? If you are comfortable, please share. If you’re not comfortable, what do you think cats say about us?
39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up?
40. Please share a poem with me, I need it.

I'm not sure I can express this sentiment strongly enough, but I'm going to try via the medium of large bolded text.
Write what the fuck you want.
Write what makes you happy. Write what makes your soul sing. Write what fucks you up and makes you cry. Write what comforts you. Write what distracts you. Write what you want to read. Write what you want to watch.
Write what you want to dream about tonight.
Write what you can't get enough of. Write what you're completely obsessed with. Write what wakes you up at 4am and drags you out of bed because you can't stop thinking about what your characters are going to do next.
Write what turns you on, if that's your vibe. Write characters you're in love with and characters who inspire you and characters you want to be friends with and characters you fucking hate but oh my god they're so much fun.
Write about things you would sell your soul to do in real life and things you would never do in real life. Write about things that are happening right now and things that happened a thousand years ago and things that might happen in the future and things you wish could happen.
Write to get a publishing deal or to sell your books yourself or not to sell your books at all. Write for your friends or for strangers or for the people who reblog your posts on Tumblr and send you songs that remind them of your characters.
Write for yourself.
Fuck any system that tells you there's only one right way to create or one valid way to share your writing. Your story, the way you tell it, has so much value. Make people smile or piss people off or do both of those things because art is divisive and fascinating and beautiful.
Start writing. Keep writing. And write what the fuck you want.
