Levi X Reader | So Close Yet So Far (4)

A/N: So sorry for such a long wait! But I'm trying to be consistent this time. Thanks for your patience <3

Everything happened so swiftly but it was as if time stopped when you two made eye contact. You were crying silent tears now as a man pulled your hair back and put a knife to your throat.

As if Levi's survival instinct kicked in he swiftly got you free from the man as the rest of the soldiers took control of the rest of the infiltrators in the room.

You hide yourself behind Levi from everyone and wiped off tears but the new ones won't stop coming. Levi noticed it and ordered everyone to take the captives to the cell.

Now it was just you and him left in the room but you still didn't come out from hiding. He understood and he stood there still facing his back to you as you took your time.

Once you stopped sobbing, he took your clothes from the other side of the room and gave them to you without looking directly in your direction. And turned around again once he was done.

"What do you want us to do with- Nevermind. Let me know when you want to talk," he said as he started walking towards the door still not looking towards you. "Wa- wait!" you managed to say while sobbing.

He knew what you wanted. You didn't want to be alone. "I'll send Hange" was all he said as he walked out of the room.

You sat there in the corner of the room trying to control the sobs as each shadow in the room now looked like a person. Due to the wind through the window, every flare of your candles startled you. You didn't want to get up, move a limb or even bother to breathe. So lost in thought that you realized it when you ran out of oxygen after a couple of seconds.

You thought you were safe here. But apparently not. How can you be this stupid to think this will be any safer than your guarded house back in the interior?

Before you can get further in self-loathe Hange knocked on the door and helped herself in. The shock was clear on her face. You were expecting some loud nonsense again but she just came and hugged you. "Are you okay? You didn't get hurt too bad did you" she said as she scanned your body and then looked at your expressionless face staring back at her.

"I thought it was gonna stop once I came here. But I guess not. When is it going to stop?" you said not expecting any response from her but sob building up at the back of your throat.

"Y/N you kinda signed up for this when you took this position don't you think?" you were surprised by her tough love. She was right. For once she was serious. You smiled at her and gathered the strength to get up but couldn't do it.

Your entire left side of the body was not working. Now you REALLY got scared and looked at her for help. Desperation is clear on your face."Woah who said you can get up? That, right there, is a dislocated shoulder which is probably stopping blood flow to other nerves. This is normal, don't worry. LEVI!" she yelled out of nowhere startling you.

He came in. "Was he standing there all this time?" you thought to yourself.

"Help her to bed she cannot get up. AND be gentle," she ordered and Levi obliged still not making any eye contact. He picked you up carefully making sure that your shoulder was safe and laid you down on the bed.

You cannot take your eyes off of him.

Why was he so weird right now? It was so hard to read him normally and NOW it is even more so tough.

"OWW" you screamed as Hange started working on you. "Never said it was not going to hurt. Please try and don't move," she said still in her serious mode. She is scary when she is serious.

She just tried to move you a little and you flinched hard. "Okay hold her down," she ordered Levi who was clearly against it but obliged. He was right above you now. Still not looking. But you got a clear picture of his face and just as you started observing you were snapped out of it but Levi held you down.

She started her work and the entire time you screamed and cried like a little kid. Can't help, it hurt like hell. "Okay, last one. Y/N this is going to hurt," she said as she positioned herself. "What the FUCK DO YOU THINK WAS HAPPENING TILL NOW! OW GOD PLEASE JUST MAKE THIS STOP" you said as tears slipped your eyes non-stop.

"That's OKAY look at me Y/N" he finally spoke, "Now keep looking at me. It'll be over in a second. Everything will be okay. I'll make sure that it will be okay, but just stays still!" Why did it feel like this wasn't about your injury or even you? But that could also be wanted a knight in shining armor because you were just so tired of handling it all on your own now.

"But it hurts so bad." You couldn't help but complain like a little kid between your sobs. "Okay look at me do you trust me?" he asked facing straight at you. "Well..." he cut you off. "Oh shut it and trust me this once." clearly annoyed and looked away.

And then it finally happened. Last snap and you were able to move your hand freely.

2 Weeks Later

You decided to let the man who threaten go since he was a big official, he can be used later as a pawn when the time comes. Everyone who used to gossip about you now realized it was not all rainbow and cupcakes for you either.

And Levi realized why you walk around haunting the hallways at night.

But it's not like anything changed after this with him. Even though everyone else was now open and warm to you he was even more cold and never once talked to you directly.

Just when you thought that things were getting good with him.

But you tried to focus on the mission and with the security even tighter you were able to sleep at dawn at least.

Then Commander Erwin announced an excavation. You knew this would give you some break and some time to go back to the interior and lay in your bed after so long.

It was last week before the excavation and you as per your normal schedule went to get some tea in the mess hall. The past few days have been great no one was there but today HE was there.

You got tensed. His presence was comforting but scary at the same time for some reason. You nodded to greet him but he just looked away. Rude. But it's Levi so it wasn't unexpected. With the presence of a not-so-unwelcoming company, you thought it was better to have the tea in your room.

"Why don't you just go back?" he said not taking his eyes off his papers as he sips his tea.

A/N: Hey! I absolutely loved the idea! I'm super sorry that it took too long, it's just that I was too burnt out to write about Kakashi so I stopped for some time but we're BACK! Thank you so much for the patience <3

First of all, I'd like to mention that he will be obsessed with your skin. He absolutely loves how it shines in the sun and you look like a goddess when it does. His words, not mine.

In the morning he loves to look at you as the morning sun strikes your skin oh-so-gently and he LOVES to crease your skin with a feathery touch adoring you as you are fast asleep.

He ABSOLUTELY loves it when you put on anything golden. For him, you look like you are royalty when you do so. Be it a golden eyeshadow look or highlighter or any golden outfit.

I can see him bringing anything golden that he finds in the market for you.

If you're black and have the 4b or 4c hair texture he loves to see how you do the hair care and would definitely learn how to braid the hair to help you out when you decide to change your look and even might try to find hair piercings whenever he is out in other villages or if anything that will go well with your hair.

But let's be honest braids might get in the way if you are a ninja so if you do prefer weaves more he got you covered with helping with tracks and everything. It'll be like you two spend a day doing your hair and he cannot stop adoring how pretty you look once you're done.

Might even try and show off his work as he does your tracks right, he is copy ninja after all and the ability extends more than just fighting.

Whenever you two go out he LOVES to watch you get ready and learn all your makeup tricks.

I can't help but laugh hard at this scene, because while Levi kicks Eren (we already know his kicks are reserved for him only), he grabs Jean's shoulder so he doesn't escape, and Jean's face goes like that because HE KNOWS HE'S NEXT. The amount of detail this anime has never ceases to amaze me.

A/N: Thank you so much for reading so far! If you're new then this is a series, please read the previous few chapters to understand this one. I appreciate all of you! Thanks a lot for reading again!

Warning: Mention of armed weapons

"S-scared? No not at all! I heard a couple of things about you but I just can't… pin you down," you said honestly.

Hmm was all he said before he went quiet again. Surprisingly silence with him was comforting.

"I won't report what happened today," you said now after being at more ease. He raised an eyebrow and looked at you, "Why?"

"This could really be a turning point for this mission, in a bad way. Just make sure that you are all on the same side soon because I cannot keep denying it either, I have to be true to my duty," you said now being able to maintain eye contact with him.

"You're right. So you're team Eren after all. We all were a little confused as to where you stood until now. I-" Before he can finish the sentence you heard Hange's loud squeak in the back. Both Levi and you were startled by it.

"Oh Y/N! I was worried that you'd report this and it would mean the end of this mission!" she made her way to you in a few steps only, "I will NOT let you down!" you could see steam on her glasses. Was she THIS excited?

"Get away from me! When was the last time you showered?!" Levi pushed her away. Now that you think about it she did stink a little. "This is the scent of hard work Levi!" she replied laughing. You couldn't help but smile at her too.

She was working and experimenting with the new titans that they successfully caught ALL THE TIME. You loved how passionate she was about her job. She wasn't doing all this just because she HAD to but rather because she wanted to.

You three chatted for a bit and then decided to go back to bed. As you stood up Levi was did too and he was standing between the window and you. A swift breeze came in and you could smell his scent it was an earthy scent with a mix of some very VERY subtle mint. For a minute you got lost in it, it was very soothing. If it was someone else you WOULD have asked for the name but it was HIM so… no.

The next couple of days were very good for experiments since Eren got to learn a lot about his ability. New scouts were recruited too, some of them were Eren's friends. It was nice to finally see him smile, he's a teenager after all.

Then IT happened.

Ever since the new scouts joined Levi was on high alert. He knew that this meant that Eren WILL meet his friends which might increase the risks of someone attacking him after someone killed Hange's test Titans. He was on his toes all the time.

The only time he was at peace was at night. He was so used to always working late that he lost his ability to sleep well at night.

His room was just next to yours. He always wondered what you do all night since he knows that you cannot sleep at night either. As he was passing through your door he heard a loud noise, something fell. He debated if he should ask if everything is okay or not but then again, it won't be appropriate. He was gonna walk away until he heard you talking to someone. You did NOT sound okay.

He knocked on your door. No reply. He did again, "I know you're up so quit playing." You opened the door but were hiding behind the door. He felt a warm feeling reaching up to his face when he saw you in your robes. "What?" you said with a very confusing expression that he was NOT able to read. "I know this is not the best accommodation but there's no need to throw tantrums. What was that noise just now?" he said as he tried reading your puzzled face. For some reason, you kept rolling your eyes again and again. At first annoyed him but then you spoke, "It's nothing I was going to the washroom when I tripped over a lamp."

You still kept rolling your eyes. But then he realized that you weren't rolling the eyes you were pointing at something in the room. He was so confused until he heard someone in the room. He thought you have "company" since you were in your robes and all. But then he saw your eyes.

How could he not see it till now?! You had tears in them and you looked scared. The girl who walked straight to the Titan when she first saw it was scared.

He just nodded and walked away. He got the message. He gathered some of the best soldiers and tried finding an opening to your room, which happened to be your bathroom window.

They all got in and now it was clear that you were not alone and definitely not safe. From the other side of the door he could hear you sniffing, have you been crying?

To make sure he is not barging in anything personal he stayed still and tried to listen.

"This is the first time I'm asking you to switch places or I'll make sure it is the last time." he heard a man talking.

"What will you even get from doing this? You won't be in control anyway, Erwin is. He is still going to do what is best for his ideals." you said, you sure sounded weak.

That was a loud sound, did they slap you? "That is not your problem now, is it? Do as I asked for. Or you know the consequences." which was followed by your sob.

This was definitely NOT anything personal.

Before they could do any more harm to you, Levi and his soldiers barged in. Levi's eye hungrily searched for you and found you kneeling on the floor in your only under-clothing.

The first thing that caught his attention was your scars. Your arms, belly, legs everything was covered in them.

Everything happened so swiftly but it was as if time stopped when you two made eye contact. You were crying silent tears now as a man pulled your hair back and put a knife to your throat.

Levi X Reader | So Close Yet So Far (2)

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 (Coming Soon!)

The next few days were okay-ish since nothing happened with Eren. You were kind of disappointed that you didn't get to see him turn into a titan. You knew this wasn't some game and this was not about whether you get to play Titans or not, this was a serious topic.

But living here has made your day so empty because back at the HQ you'd be busy the entire day with cases but here everything that comes within the radius of Eren is being checked and monitored so you don't get that many cases sent your way.

Plus you have been monitoring the experiments that Hange is doing on him and none of them led anywhere.

You were happy that now at least you're getting some sleep during the day because you just CANNOT sleep at night. Not even in your house let alone a castle. So this one night you decided to get something warm to help you sleep. You saw some guards sitting outside the dungeon where Eren was kept. They got up to salute you but you quickly asked them to be at ease.

You appreciated how dedicated and true to their words Scouts were. You never need to cross-check anything with them like with MPs.

As you reached the mess haul you could hear some voices. You wondered why are people up at this hour? As you got closer to the gate you could hear them a little. You didn't want to eavesdrop but you wanted to know who it was since you were trying to avoid Levi's cold gaze.

"What is she even doing here? All she does is fool around all day while we are here working our asses off." said one voice. "Oh to be an official. What does she have over Zachary anyways? I've seen how he was looking over her the entire time we were there as if she is the one who was making the decisions?" "I'm sure they are up to something. She really has him in her palm, doesn't she? I mean she is hot we cannot deny that..." They continued talking but you decided it was better to walk away. This was not the first time you heard things like that.

"Leaving so early? They were just getting to the best part." said a familiar voice from behind you. You looked over and it was HIM. Distress was clear on your face. You didn't say anything and turned back around and walked back to your room. You could feel his sharp gaze following you.

One thing was clear, it was easy working with Scouts because they are true to their words but they were the same as others. Always daunting on the fact that you get to live a more comfortable life than them. Only if they knew. It was all the shiny parts that they were able to see. But you didn't blame them for it.

A few days passed and you were all having lunch outside this afternoon in the experiment grounds. You were taking updates from Levi and Hange about the progress in the experiments because till now, Eren was not able to turn at all. And then it happened.

With a loud strike of an electric bolt and a HUGE figure emerged out of thin air. As the smoke dispersed you could see it clearly. So this is what a titan looked like. Levi took you by the hand and pulled you away from it, "Are you trying to get yourself killed?" he shouted. But it was all a background noise, for the thing you see right now, is a miracle.

Within a second everyone had their swords out and pointed toward Eren's titan form. Wait, did they not believe him too? If so, then this could be a problem. As if Levi heard your thoughts he barged and tried to stop them. Continuously checking your expressions too. He knew that this is not going to look in the reports and could be a huge setback for the entire situation.

After all of that was sorted you went back to your room to complete some work. None of them stayed to talk to you, they knew they messed up. Even Hange gave you a weak smile that clearly said, "Please don't mess this up for us"It was late at night when you went to the mess hall to pass some time. It was on the first floor and had the best view.

As you entered you were happy that there was no one so you helped yourself with some warm water and sat near the window looking at the stars. "Do you ever sleep?" it was him again. Your situation with him was very weird because you can feel his eyes are always on you and when you look back he pulls them away. If it was someone else, you could have considered the possibility that they were into you but his gaze is always just so cold and empty, this could never be a possibility with him."No. But you don't either do you? We always cross paths at night" you said with a smile trying to act cool when you're VERY nervous. His expression changed a bit then went back to cold. "I might almost think that you're following me or something. Do you worry that I might do something to Eren?" you said now jokingly but half curious to know his answer.

He just went ahead and started making some tea and replied with his back towards you, "I have better things to do." You scanned his body from up and down. This was the first time you could have a good look at him. He sure was muscular and those straps only enhanced it. Not even a single crease on this shirt even though he had his sleeves folded.

As you were checking him out you realized that he can see you through the kitchen glass door and he was doing just that.

You turned your back to him again as if nothing happened when on the inside you were contemplating jumping out of the window now.

Both of you were silent until he leaned over from your back and put a cup of tea in front of you. You flinched a little which he DID notice but you acted cool.

"Tha--nks." you thanked him thinking he'll keep it there and walk away but to your surprise he sat down next to you with his back against the window.

You looked at him surprised wanting an explanation for sudden kindness but what he said next just made you stutter like an idiot. "You'll get a better view like this." He said with a smirk.

"I- No no no no that's not it I-" you said waving your hand in front of your face. "You?" he said leaning close to your face. You just sat there like a statue and hoped that he'll disappear right then and there.

He just scoffed and leaned back again, "I'm just messing with you. You're my superior why are you always so scared of me?"

Levi X Reader | So Close Yet So Far (1)

A/N: This was an idea that I've been thinking about for so long. What if Y/N was one of the higher-ups. Will you two hide your feelings for one another because this won't end well for either of you and your goals? Or will you just let go for once and accept it as it is?

Part 2

You were working as the right hand for Zachary in the Premier core. He'd discuss everything with you and would take your advice on almost every case. He taught you everything from the very basics and had always adored how professional you were.

Keeping your feelings aside and taking action against your friends is never easy but you knew what was right and you have always tried to do the right thing in the best way you can.

So when Eren's case came up, Zachary made it very clear that he wanted you with him in the courthouse.

You knew this was a very crucial and sensitive moment because the decision that is being made day is going to turn humanity to 180. It was up to you two to decide whether it was for good or for bad.

So it was natural that your heart was beating fast as you were entering the courthouse as every commander, and every captain was saluting you and giving you "THE LOOK".

You were very young to be there but you have proven your skills over and over again so Zachary always trusted you.

As the case began it started as the normal fight between the Regimins. They all were loud and pointless as always but you noticed that the scout's regime was silent. You've heard how cunning and sharp Commander Erwin is so you were waiting for them to start with their case.

And when he started talking it was crisp and clear. No sub-stories no blame games but clear reasoning that you always expect the team to present.

Zachary looked at you to ask for something but before you could answer you heard a loud thud. You looked over to the source of sound and it was Captain Levi beating the hell out of Eren. You were shaken to your core by how brutally he was doing it but you kept your straight face.

He proved his point that if anything happened to Eren he was more than capable of taking care of it.

It was clear as hell to you that you were sold on Scouts. You looked over to Zachary and nodded in agreement. When he asked you to join him in the court, you thought that it'll end there. Little did you know that you were about to be sent to a far-off place from the interiors and had to stay in a castle with a boy who can turn into a titan in seconds.

Well, you still took the offer because it was better than living in the interior, listening to these nonsense cases, and listening to grown men whine like babies when you took a decision against them. Apart from that you had other reasons too.

------------Two Days Later------------

You arrived at the castle and it was way prettier than you expected it to be. Captain Levi and Section Commander Hange were there and they greeted you at the door. You only met them at the courthouse when they saluted you. You've heard a lot of Hange and how crazy she is and Levi on the other hand was told to be a "mannerless bastard who thinks he is better than everyone". Well, that should be fun since he barely talked when you met them and Hange on the other hand was so loud and excited. It brought a smile to your face but then Levi's bored face helped it fade away.

You finally met everyone at the dinner. Eren was there too. It was tough to digest how such a petite guy could turn into a titan. And he was too young. Honestly, you pitied him for having such a huge burden on his shoulders at such a young age. You started talking to everyone and you could clearly see that some of them were friendly and nice but some of them absolutely hated that an official is sitting between them.

One of them even commented on 'How YOU would know any struggles since you live a nice life in the interior'. "Little do they know," you thought to yourself and ignored him.

One interesting character was Captain. He was nonchalant and only spoke to calm down Hange when she was being too loud. He never made any eye contact with you nor did he even try to make any effort in initiating a conversation.

As you went back to your room. One thing was crystal clear these few months are either going to be VERY interesting or you would start missing the men from the courthouse complaining.

So. i heard that Shikamaru is your favorite character from Naruto, so i have a request. Shikamaru x short reader headcannons. like the reader only stands as tall as his bicep.

Shikamakru X Reader | Short Reader

Okay first of all, don't go all blushing when he calls you as his "pretty little arm rest" because he's doing it on purpose. He uses your shoulder or head a lot to rest his arm if you're standing side by side. Super romantic right? But you love it because none of you are BIG on PDA.

I feel like even though you both are not into PDA he still finds his hand touching you somehow, especially your cheeks. You two could be standing side by side with his arm over your shoulder and his hand slowly creasing your cheek. How can we blame him you're JUST THE RIGHT HEIGHT.

At first it did make a few people awkward but he does it unintentionally so he never really paid that much attention to it untill someone make it obvious that they ARE getting uncomfortable. But your friends are used to it now.

Expect A LOT of head pats coming your way. He lives to do it because A you look really cute being all excited when you do something good. B he just finds it cute how even after you jump out of excitement you still don't reach his height. He never mention this though.

When you're cooking he likes to rest his head in the crook of your neck. You're just perfect height for that. And if he's cooking then he'll have you site on the counter top so that you're easily accessible for kisses. Duh he needs motivation.

If you're insecure about your height then he'll help you get over it. He knows that insecurities can take over the best of the people and he doesn't want you see yourself any less than the way he see you.

He won't be too obvious about it though. He knows you take his words by heart because he never says anything that he doesn't mean. So he'll slowly start appreciating how being short is actually good in general. Then he'll start praising you if you're comfortable enough. He doesn't want to push you too hard but he wants you to be rid of all the things that might hold you back from being happy.

He likes to call you cupecake or dumpling when he finds you EXTRAAA cute. It has nothing to do with your height but he just likes to do so.

Now as for the spicy stuff. He likes to pick you up as you wrap your legs around his waist while making out.

Also he loves the fact that he can move your around like a doll in the bed too. It gives him a strange sense of power that he likes only in bed and always pushes him to do more.

But as you grew you found out that in early ages it was your clan's job to guard the village and how important it was for the livelihood of people living inside. You always took pride in it. Until one day while training you met a few kids from the village. They were training to be ninjas.

You were observing them from a distance & one of them caught your attention. He had a dog with him. You found it weird because it is natural for only your clan to have an animal with you as a companion.

You tried to have a closer look but then they noticed you. Your instinct was to flee but they looked friendly so you decided to stay and talk. As it turned out they were not even aware that your clan existed which was heartbreaking for a kid because you were so proud of being responsible for their safety.

But you figured that it wasn't their fault after all. They knew what they were taught. You had a great training session with them that day and the guy with the dog Kiba was your favorite among them because you both had somewhat similar skills.

This was your first time interacting with people from the inside of the village and you wanted to do it more! But sadly they had to go and as if he caught onto it Kiba promised to come back soon.

Years went by, and you waited at the same spot at the same time of the day but he never came. But one day your clan was attacked by goons who were not normal ones. They had a similar coat on with red clouds. But you didn't have time to think you had to fight. You were in the main defense team of the clan.

When all hope was lost you were still fighting not ready to give up. You could hear your family shouting from a distance to stop and run but you didn't. You were just happy that they and the other people were shifting to the village now.

Then out of nowhere, you smelled a familiar scent. It was HIM. As you were fighting a bunch of people came and he stood by your side ready to attack. You could see his features clearly. He grew up, and so did you. Will he recognize you?

"Get back Y/N you're hurt!" he said as he stepped in front of you. You stood there dumbfounded. He remembered your name. Then all the fighting and loss of chakra caught up to you as you fell down to your knees.

For the first time, it was not you fighting on the front lines. Someone else was doing it and protecting YOU.

After that incident, your first course of action was to ensure that everyone in the clan was safe. There were some casualties. But nothing serious. You went to the cliff that calms you down always. You needed that after such a long fight.

"You came," you said as you sensed his chakra from behind you. "I did," he said sitting down next to you. "Took you long enough."

"Heh, things aren't that simple anymore Y/N. The restrictions from the gate are way more intense now," he said guilt laced in his voice. "I understand. You grew up to be stronger than I had imagined," you said trying to cheer him up.

He just looked at you, in your eyes. As if, searching for something. "What?" you said tying your hair in a ponytail trying to avoid his intense gaze. "You genuinely waited all this time?" he said as he let your hair loose again, "You look better like this."

He realized what he did and tried covering up, "You don't have to be in warrior mode now heh we're here." then his voice turned genuine and deep, "But you showed them hell. I'm super proud of you kid." he said with a smile.

"Kid? I'm your age you know. But... in all seriousness what do you think will happen to the clan? They have nowhere to go." you knew this was coming. At some point, you'll have to figure this out too. It was not safe outside the walls right now. "We'll figure it out together. You're not alone," he said as he patted your head.

Later Kiba helped you meet the Hokage so that you can present your plea in front of her. She was stern at first but was understanding. She gave you all shelter and resources till your clan was back on its feet. You spent most of your time with Kiba during the restoration phase. He helped through the process as if he never left and you two have known each other for years. He helped with all he had. Once your houses were restored you had to go back. He hated it, you hated it. But it was going to happen eventually.

Once you got back to your house. You went back to the place where you waited for him but this time it was to just reminisce about this dream life that you just lived with him. You didn't want to admit it but you had it bad for him!

You smelled the same scent. You rushed and he was standing there. "I'm not going to make you wait anymore." He said with a smile as you went in for a hug. "Ah, I wish it was like this forever. I don't want to let you go again Wait um" he accidentally said out loud.

You took a step back and watched him turning into a red ball of embarrassment. To save him from it you hugged him again, "Then don't."

Levi X Reader | How You Caught His Eye

I think Levi won't be the one who will fall in love at first sight. He'd fall for character over anything else. If he sees you as a strong person who is in control over their life then he might start respecting you.

And once you show him that while you are strong and take the lead in your life you are a total softie too he'll probably admire you the most.

Because of his childhood, he was forced to become this cold and distant. Which people perceive as being strong. He knows this is not what being strong means, dissociating from feelings is just running away like a coward to him.

So when he saw that you fully felt your emotions and were still fighting through? He instantly felt this warm feeling inside him. He didn't name it anything at first. It was just nice to see someone who understands what this life is all about and still never loses touch with their humanity.

You showed him that there was more to life than just these heavy feelings that he carries in his chest for all the people and team members he has lost.

He is a great observer so he never really needed to talk to you to know all these things about you but one time you both were working overtime and met at the mess hall while getting tea.

He wanted to initiate the conversation but to his comfort you did. You asked him about how his last expedition went and you noticed how his demeanor changed when he talked that he lost 2 of his men. You know he was cold and distant, at least that's what you've heard so you figured he never really talked about these things to anyone so you invited him over to do his paperwork in your office.

It was an unusual request for him since he always works alone but he was curious too so he obliged.

And just like that, after a single deep conversation with you made him realize that he IS allowed to forgive himself for the people he wasn't able to save because all of that was out of his power.

And when you told him that even though you are so strict and level-headed with your team, there are times when you fail them too but it is all a part of the learning curve for both of you, HE HAD TO HOLD BACK HIS TEARS.

After leaving your office, he smiled after so many months. Only if you knew that this random conversation for you was such a big deal for him.

Kiba X Reader | Reader Gets Injured

Kiba was not the one to show you directly that he was into you. Everyone talked about it. They teased him too but he never directly said it.

Initially, even you had feelings for him but seeing how he constantly denies it? It made you back down from the thought of ever being with him.

But one thing that you just can't shrug off is how he always tries to boost himself and show off whenever you're around. You were smart enough to pick that at the very least. But if he DID like you, why was he not doing anything about it then?

You left it up to him to decide, you were not the one to entertain the hot and cold behavior. You've dealt with this in the past and you knew it brings no good. It just shows how unsure the person is.

You were way above average in the class too so it's not like you had a lack of options out there but always cursed yourself when you found daydreaming about the man who was so unsure about you.

You were assigned a tough mission and before going you just wanted your answers once and for all. You tried to make him jealous by talking to other guys around him, didn't work. So you kinda gave up and headed in the mission with a clear head but sadly a broken heart.

Which almost cost you your life since now you were held captive by the goons who crossed paths by mistake. These people were sure way out of your league and you needed backup.

Sure you could take a few of them down but you were outnumbered and tired. Every now and then one of them would come and check on you it's been 2 days and not even one time the same guy came so you could only imagine how many of them were out there.

You were refusing your food, lord knows what they might have mixed in it. But lack of food and chakra caught onto you and you fainted. You woke up to loud noises from outside the cave where they kept you. But then a familiar voice called your name, "Hey Y/N. Wake up! Are you okay?" It was Hina, her voice as soft and soothing as ever.

You nodded and tried standing up but you were too weak, so she helped you as you walked out. You saw something that you never really thought was possible.

Kiba has gone crazy. You've never felt this strong chakra from him. He was far but you could hear, "How dare you lay a hand on her?!" as he attacked one of the goons.

"He's gone ruckus ever since your news came in," Hinata said from behind as she helped you to a safe place.

Later once you were back in the village you were up from being unconscious you were sitting by the window in your bed and looking out. Thinking of all the things that happened. Thinking about the look on his face. Hina and Ino were sitting on the other side of the room discussing something.

Then the door opened and HE walked in. You two didn't leave eye contact for a second. Your eyes clearly said, "Why can't you just admit it?" and his eyes were blank as he came straight to you and kissed you.

You were too stunned to speak but you gave in. You never realized when the two girls excused themselves. "Why-" you tried talking but he cut you off. "You're way out of my league Y/N. Many other capable guys can be a better man to you than I can ever be?"

"Yes but none of them came for me." You said sternly. "How do you think you're any inferior to them when you have a heart like that? What if I say that I don't give a damn about them but you."

You can see surprise clear on his face. "You're not saying what I think you're saying are you?"

"Yes, I do love you damn it! But you still haven't answered my question." your voice was assertive now. "I am scared that I won't be enough." He said lowly.

That broke your heart. A man like this who loves his comrades with all he has thinks he's not good enough. Tears started rolling down your eyes once you understood why he was being hot and cold. And here you thought that he had commitment issues or something.

You two sat down and cleared everything out. Once you two were together sure he felt inferior at times but you made it a rule to reassure him that very instant.

Can you do head canons of where fem! y/n and really long hair (as long as Kushina Uzumaki's is), and Naruto (Naruto, Shikamaru, Kiba, Kakashi, Sasuke, Neji, ext.) boys notice that their hair is bothering them so they do something about it?

Kakashi

Kakashi is someone who pays a lot of attention to details when it comes to you or anything related to you.

You tend to lose your rubber band the very first 5 minutes you used it and he knows it so he always has a few of your hair ties with him for "just in case".

You have been into pottery recently and he decided to pick you up from the studio. He saw you struggling to keep your hair out of your face and came to your rescue with a hair tie in his hand and tying your hair back for you.

His presence alone is fascinating for the ladies. Now just imagine how crazy they went when he DID THAT.

Shikamaru

It was when you two had just started dating and you both loved to do chores around the house and spend some quality time alone.

So this one time, you were cooking and he was sitting on the tabletop as you stood between his legs with your back to his chest.

You were making the salad mix and your braids got loose. He saw you struggling.

THIS MAN gently pulled them back and placed a kiss on your neck from the back. HE KNOWS this gets you weak on your knees!

He wrapped his legs around you so you can't move as you try your best to hide your blush.

His wholehearted laugh was the highlight of your evening :3

Kiba

Kiba may act all cool and tough to everyone but when it comes to you he is such a softie.

And he absolutely loves your long hair and in fact, the day when he first say you, the first thing he noticed was your hair blowing oh-so-gently with the wind.

But recently you were thinking of getting them trimmed since they were getting in your way of the practice. And the moment you mentioned it to him, MAN was he so hyperactive to convince you not to do it.

He thought it was gonna be a big chop like Sakura's but later you helped him calm down and explain that it is just a cut.

You sometimes mess with him by mentioning a big cut and once he realises that you are messing with him he doesn't calm down but not before confirming it twice.

Naruto

He LOVES the smell of your hair first of all. He also notices when you change your shampoos.

While cuddling you try to make sure that your hair doesn't get in the way but he finds the smell of them comforting and would probably snuggle in them even more.

But what he absolutely love is when you have a hair wash day and he's laying on your lap and your hair is slightly brushing up against his face as he sleeps.

He loves the cold dampness of them and just like Kiba he will go nuts if you suggest getting a haircut.

Will probably be grumpy afterwards but nothing a bowl of Ichiraku ramen can't find.

Sasuke

He's not one to be vocal about it but according to him, your hair is one of the best features you have.

Sometimes he gets caught up in how pretty they look, how pretty YOU LOOK when you are just going about your day and your long hair flows you around, when you are sparing with him and right after every move there is a trail of your long braids following your movement OR when you two are out on a walk and wind brush past you as if teasing him subtly by blowing your hair JUST the right way.

He can look at them forever. Like, he won't even realize that he is staring until one time you ask him, "What do you always stare at?" He was a blushing mess after that but covered up by saying that there was a bug on you.

After that, he'll try to be as subtle as possible but ends up being caught up in your beauty anyway. But you always let him stare without pointing it out. You love knowing that he has his eyes on you and adoration crystal clear in them.

Sometimes he unconciously reach out his hand to take some strands away from your face and would tuck them behind your ear so gently that you might just break with his mare touch.

Neji

He has long hair and he is big on hygiene and a little bit proud of it too for some reason. But when he walked past you the first time he smelled a fragrance that was "ethereal" in his own words.

He is not the one to pay attention to anyone at all but you made him turn around and look and he was only able to see your long hair that flowed way past your waist.

He tried finding you after that but you were nowhere to be found until one day when Neji, Ten Ten & Lee were resting after a training session. He was resting his eyes for a bit as he lay under a tree that was near the footpath.

He heard someone talking to Ten Ten for directions. He didn't pay any attention but for some reason, he opened his eyes and in his line of vision it was the sky and the same long hair flowing and walking away from him once again.

He jerked up scaring you and the other team members. You both had awkward eye contact for a few seconds and then Ten Ten spoke, "He's Neji."

Then he got his composure back and formally introduced himself. Ever since you two started dating he loved hugging you. Hugging you with his chin resting on your head, hugs from the back, and especially the ones where he places his head in the crook of your neck. All of this is because he wants to take in the same smell of your hair.

He WOULD ask you to switch back to the same essential oil to make sure you smell the same. Even after having his intense hygiene routine, he never used that oil for himself. Even though he LOVES it, it was for you and you only.
