I remember joining the fandom in 2020 and all the Teresa hate just confused me since, yes she betrayed the others, but she did what she thought was right. She always tried to help people, even if it meant hurting those close to her for the greater cause.

It feels so weird for people to hate on a character for something that, if you go into it, is such an interesting idea and dynamic.

And the whole newtmas vs thomesa thing is just stupid because they both die so neither of them are fully canon anyways, just let people have their fun with their silly little interests and don’t put anyone down for their own ideas.

can we talk about some parts of the maze runner fandom on tiktok cause shits wild 💀 i was just scrolling through it and i noticed the "newtmas vs thomesa" fight is STILL holding on strong in 2024, i don't really understand it tbh cause people shipping newtmas doesn't hurt people shipping thomesa and the other way around too, like people have reasons to ship newtmas and to ship thomesa so why attack each other? i know some people hate on thomesa cause they dont like teresa and of course they don't have to like her but attacking thomesa shippers isn't the right turn of actions, i mean those people are not hurting anyone, same with people who hate on newtmas for no apparent reason, why do so? it's not like them being shipped hurts anyone either. shoutout to the people who welcome any ships (not including pedophilic ships etc) and respect them. let's not live in a fight yall

Imagine if they kept in the deleted scene in scorch trials where Newt motivates Thomas to keep going.

Imagine the angst potentials that could have if they turned it into a parallel between TSC and TDC. Like imagine:

As they sit away, distancing themselves from the rest of the gladers, away the flames from the fire that gently light their backs in golden hues, Newt heaves in deep breaths and whispers a simple sentence, a reassuring smile resting in his face despite the exhaustion in his eyes.

“And you can’t give up… I won’t let you.”

But what if in the death cure, when Thomas is dragging Newts limp form through the desolate city, in the middle of flurries of flames that light his face in golden hues, he lets out quick panicked breaths, muttering a simple sentence, the grimace on his face matching the exhaustion in his eyes.

I can’t remember if there’s any evidence disproving this but it just feels right that Thomas is one of the younger gladers, I don’t know why. He gives off annoying younger brother energy for some reason??

just a nice, friendly reminder of newt's letter to thomas to those who forgot about this delightful moment that made us all cry:

Dear Thomas,

This is the first letter I can remember writing. Obviously I don't know if I've written any letters before the Maze. But even if it's not my first, it's likely to be my last. I want you to know that I'm not afraid. Well not of dying, anyway. It’s more of forgetting. It's losing myself to this virus, that's what scares me. So every night I've been saying their names out loud: Alby, Winston, Chuck. And I just repeat them over and over like a prayer. And it all comes flooding back. Just the little things. Like when the sun used to hit the glade at the perfect moment, right before it'd slip beneath the walls. And I remember the taste of Frypan's stew. I'd never thought I'd miss that stuff so much.

I remember you. I remember you first coming up in the box, just a scared little greenie, who couldn't even remember his own name. But from the moment you ran into the maze, I knew that I would follow you anywhere. And I have. We all have. If I could do it all over again, I would, and I wouldn't change a thing. My hope for you is when you're looking back, years from now, is that you'll stay the same. The future is in your hands now, Tommy, and I know you'll find a way to do what's right. You always have.

Take care of everyone for me. And take care of yourself. You deserve to be happy.
