!IMPORTANT!
Hello everyone, this is Connor, Renâs friend speaking out for him right now. Many of you may not know, but as of last night, Renâs abusive ex has found his accounts and is currently rallying her friends to attack and drag him down. They are spreading slander, hate, and twisted viewpoints. In order to keep her from getting at him, Iâve temporarily taken over things. Ren will be taking a break from interacting on here to avoid being victim to his abuser again.Â
In the meantime, please if you see any accounts reblogging your or his work trying to spread nasty information about him, block and report them. Already they are spreading misinformation and heinously twisted stories. They have also repeatedly spammed his asks with horrible things, telling him to feel bad about himself, cursing him, and overall ripping him apart. All his asks have now been turned off.
Itâs disgusting. Itâs juvenile. Itâs sick. Please do not go to Ren with any of these grievances and instead find me @visceryl. You may dm me or send an ask, whatever be it with any help or questions or concerns.Â
I also want to take the time to tell everyone in this community that I love you all. So many of you support Ren in incredible ways and its people like you all that help him get through tough times like this. Iâm sorry so much of this is having to leak into something he loves doing with all his heart. Thank you for reading this and if you can, please let others know whatâs going on too so we can hopefully end this and get her back out of his life.Â

âErm⌠the yellow star or the blue moon?â
âThe yellow star! Canât have a starry sky without stars!â
David used his wand to loft up the twinkling, lifelike star decoration to the girl who was propped up precariously above him on a tall ladder. The Great Hall was in the midst of getting the remodel of the decade - after all, it wasnât every year that Penny Haywood was in charge of planning the Senior Soiree.Â
The seventh years of Hogwarts, in the days following their final exam, had a dance just for them taking place in the Great Hall, complete with music and a theme selected by the partyâs manager. Penny, of course, was the perfect choice for such a role. Thoughtful in everything she did and keen to bring her fellow seventh years the best dance they could ask for, sheâd been working nonstop for the last month in preparation - with David as her go-to helper.Â
Penny caught the star and fixed it to the ceiling with a spell. âThere we go,â she breathed. âNow, even if itâs cloudy outside, itâll still look like thereâs a starry sky. What do you think?â
David grinned as he leaned back against one of the tables. âI think youâve outdone yourself again, Penny.â
The Hufflepuff girl slid down the ladder and looked up at the ceiling thoughtfully. ââŚI donât know. Donât you think it could use more stars on the left side? Oh, maybe we could add a constellation!âÂ
David grinned. âI think youâd better just take a break before you run yourself ragged.â
âAre you kidding? This is the kind of thing I live for. I never get tired of it.â She resigned to Davidâs suggestion and sat on the table next to him, grabbing her butterbeer and slurped the last drop from the bottom. âAre you excited for the dance?â
âOf course I am,â he said. âBut I think Iâm more excited for the party at the Hogâs Head Inn.â
Pennyâs eyes lit up. âOh, and the slumber party! Iâm so excited, weâre going to be hosting it in the Slytherin Common Room!â

     Lucian hardly seemed to agree, but reluctantly caved with a nod. âAlright. But let's get you up there first and ride before we consider it.â He quickly tied off the other end of the rope to Marcelloâs horse and circled around the side to take a knee, forming a lock with his hands for Marcello to step. âNow up you go.â
   A hand pushed down on Lucianâs shoulder and Marcello stepped a boot up onto the hand. With screaming muscles, he lifted up, swinging a leg over and collapsed against the white mare. His breath panted out in pained rasps. âThank you.â
   âAre you sure youâll be alright?â
   âStill absolutely thriving,â he lied with a glittering smile. âLetâs get the hell out of here.â

âOut,â she whispered, closing her eyes, envisioning a flame shrinking into darkness.Â
Behind her eyelids, the dim glow disappeared, all that was left was a folded paper star.
Saanvi let out a sigh as she relaxed into her pillow, the room dark around her.Â
Azeria said they were on separate planes. She promised to find her. But Saanvi wasnât willing to wait. She had been alone for so long.Â
âIâll find you,â she whispered, sinking into sleep.Â

Thank you @praetoring for letting me use your pub idea! Itâs funny, when you were telling me how it was in a space like Diagon Alley in York, I did some researching and Diagon Alley is actually based on a street in York called the Shambles! It was so perfect, I had to use it. XD

Several months later. 1996.
The enemy had been growing bolder by the day. Muggleborns and blood traitors were being stolen right from their homes by the day. And of course, the attacks on muggles themselves. Vehicles suddenly exploding for no reason. Lying dead in their beds with no injuries or wounds, causing terror in neighborhoods that had never seen such horror.
Their numbers were going stronger, as well as their abilities. Talbott had reported that the Death Eaters had invented a spell that allowed them to fly in plumes of heavy black smoke. And still, the Minister refused to do anything about it. It was enough to make Ethrenâs blood boil.
His work with Ben Copper did little to stifle his irritation. Working with the man was nothing short of impossible. Arrogant. Obnoxious. A stickler for the rules. Everything had to be by the book, to Ben Copper. Everything Ethren did was wrong. It was enough to make the man want to snap.Â
It had been several months of working together, and theyâd completed three operations, saving a small handful of undesirables each time. They did good work. While the men didnât get along, they were efficient when it mattered, and hadnât yet failed a mission.Â
That enough, called for some down time at the Orderâs pub, located in York.

It was a long road back to Halruaa.Â
The destruction of the Crintiâs supply run had sent the country into a frenzy of amplified security. The roads were all but impossible to travel, with the excessive number of guards and patrols that stalked the countryside. Theyâd taken to traveling by night, under the glow of the moon and stars.Â
While the country was hot and muggy during the day, at night a cool chill had settled upon the humans as they trudged through long stretches of field and grasslands. Every so often, they would pass by the odd herd of wild horses, who lifted their heads to examine them only for a moment before they bounded into the grasses, swallowed by the countryside.Â
Marcello had the little girl in his arms, while Aven rode with the boy sleeping in front of him, curled into a ball against Jorakâs neck. Theyâd finally exhausted themselves into silence. Two young children, torn away from their people after a horrific accident⌠it had been a long few days of crying and tantrums.Â
Marcello heaved a breath. âIâm going to be glad to finally return home,â he murmured and Lucian, riding Soleil close by, nodded.
âIâm inclined to agree.â He paused. âAnd when we return home⌠you intend to make good on your promise?â
âWho do you think I am?â Marcello snorted with a smile that did not touch his eyes. âYou know I donât make idle promises. If I told you I was going to help you retake Aeliorn, then consider it done.â
âIâm nervous.â
âI know. Thereâs a long stretch before you can come even close to your uncle. I know Aven would like nothing more than to break down his doors and cut his axe into him, but⌠I believe this game will be far more elaborate than he could ever know.â
âAnd⌠what about you?â
Marcello looked up. The night sky was as expansive as fields that swayed in the wind. ââŚIâll thrive. As I always do.â

A sensitive wand, hazel often reflects its ownerâs emotional state, and works best for a master who understands and can manage their own feelings. Even as things get complicated at school, Brian never lets go of the fun times he had with his kin over the holidays, and his friends remind him of home. For a very long time, this remains his patronus memory as it serves to remind him of who he really is during stressful periods of time, and that there are many people who care about him, that he can never let down.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Pre Hogwarts:
On May 14, 1998, Brian was born to Hogwarts alumni Cato Reese and Penny Haywood-Reese, almost two weeks following the Battle Hogwarts and Voldemortâs defeat. His brother Rowan would be born five years later in 2003.
Brianâs parents owned two residences. They lived in Reno, Nevada in the United States during the winter, and in Dorset England during the summer. He spent a lot of time camping with his little brother Rowan in a tent over the summer, spending the nights in the woods behind their house. On occasion, Penny and Cato would join too, and the entire family would gaze at the vast sea of stars in the night sky. The boys sometimes went on walks through the forest, though they never got too far away from their home.Â
Every beginning of October, the Haywood-Reese family went to their winter home in the United States. Their sons trick-or-treated with the muggle kids of the neighbors during Halloween. For Thanksgiving and Christmas, Cato and Penny invited their friends they knew from Hogwarts over to celebrate together, who had children of their own. These kids bonded with and became friends with Brian and Rowan.Â
In 2009, Brian would be accepted into both Hogwarts and Ilvermorny; he ended up going to the former, his parentsâ school. The day before Brian would have to leave for London to catch the train at Kingâs Cross, Rowan burst into tears and curled up into a ball. His older brother hugged him and promised he would write him and send pictures back home so that both would never feel far away from each other.

PERSONALITY
Mostly warm and easy-going, Brian is most of time pretty happy and cheerful. He is rather intelligent, perceptive and enjoys talking about things that interest him. However, his parents being popular in Hogwarts, he envies them and is quite prideful, if a bit conceited. As a result, he can be easily agitated and has trouble dealing with his emotions. Brian seeks love and care and wants everyone to treat him like his parents do, though he learns that upon making it to Hogwarts, there are plenty of people who have other ideas.
He tends to lose his cool and hold grudges. When his hurt feelings get the better of him, he is less outgoing and struggles to open up about his problems. He is afraid that heâll end up getting hurt or scare others away due to how his mood makes him think of people who give him a hard time. Â
Though Brian is also dear to his friends and will support and if needed, defend them fiercely if they need help or struggle with issues of their own. He is pretty energetic and loves nature too. Like his father, Brian is a creative and bright young boy who loves to draw and take pictures, which he often shares with his friends.
Brian is more athletic than his father was in high school. He is a bit competitive, and especially in his younger years, is a sucker for house points since he desires to be popular like his parents. While this can drive him to focus more on his homework and put more effort into studying for his exams to get good grades, it can also lead Brian into trouble. Especially in his first year, his hotheadedness attracted the ire of some similar students. A few of these encounters brewed into small rivalries. This is one of the things that makes it easier for Brian to become agitated and lose his cool.
Like his parents, Brian has a good eye for the good things in everything. He tries to be patient and keep an ear open for his friends who have to vent to him. Thoughtful and analytical, he has a healthy curiosity that helps him gather courage when meeting new people, especially if they seem quirky or stand out in some way. At times though, when Brian has a lot on his mind, he can misjudge them and end up making them uncomfortable.
MISC
For his 11th birthday, Brian was given an old 35mm camera by his father. He was taught how to take pictures and often joined him on trips out into the desert to see it in full bloom. Many of the pictures he took were framed and hung in his bedroom. They were magically developed as to be animated, featuring animals like jackrabbits, and the clouds passing in the sky.
Brian was taught how to play piano by his father. He also picked up on the violin after he entered Hogwarts.
One of his most favorite songs is the âFun Fun Funâ by the Beach Boys, released in 1964. For music genres, itâs the late 60s to the early 90s (he doesnât think the modern 2000s pop music is as cool as 70s classic hard rock and 80s new wave) Brian also listened to bands such as AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and Queen with his father. He does though have a soft spot for Christmas music due to his memories of the holidays.
On rainy days while staying in Reno, Cato would sometimes go down into the basement of his house to pay a visit to his model railroad. Brian followed him down there a lot, and he was welcome to look as long as he didnât touch anything. He was reminded by his father many times that the trains were not toys and were expensive to buy. Though his parents promised him a ride on a real steam train. Brian went on this ride with them and his friends the Christmas before his first year at Hogwarts.
Brian and his little brother were occasionally joined by their friends during the treks out into the woods over the summers in Dorset. They closely studied the magical fauna of the rural countryside and sometimes collected wild flowers to take home.Â
His father being good friends with Luna Lovegood and being a kid attuned with nature, Brian was big fan of The Quibbler magazine. He sometimes looked for the rumored creatures that were sometimes covered in the issues of the publication, even though it was widely proven they didnât really exist.

* He was caught by the epicness of the moment and the great feelings of freedom, adventure, and even the wind rustling through the tufts of his rich brown hair. Earning a ride on a hippogriff is quite the feat on itâs own, like learning the Patronus charm. * Especially after his mother had handled the disappearance of Jacob pretty poorly, Cato wished that his brother had been more honest about what he was doing outside of classes in Hogwarts. Minerva McGonagall
* Cato liked Professor McGonagall and the student-teacher relationship between them stemmed in part from that she almost ended in Ravenclaw herself before the Sorting Hat ended up placing her in Gryffindor. She was very kind and helpful toward Cato, and the two had a strong bond. It was McGonagall that encouraged her student to register as an animagus instead of going through all the anguish of trying to keep it under wraps. She appreciated Cato for his achievements and even offered to nominate him as her successor, but he declined in favor of being a curse-breaker.
Filius Flitwick
* As with the transfiguration professor, a lot of respect was held toward Flitwick by Cato. He saw the part-goblin professor as a positive role model in his early years at Hogwarts. Especially in the first months of his first year when Cato was dealing with nightmares. He was eased up by his head of houseâs display of dancing cupcakes and never took this for granted. Professor Flitwick was almost, if not always on Catoâs side during tough times, a mark of his caring and protectiveness toward his students, especially those in his house.
Pomona SproutÂ
* Growing up in touch with nature and helping his mum, Cato adjusted pretty well to herbology. The professor was soft and sweet to him, and often had him help out in the greenhouse outside of class due to Catoâs proficiency in the subject. He always appreciated her generosity, but this sometimes led to mishaps as Professor Sprout tended to place too much faith in the boy. Still, she helped to keep Cato positive and motivated when stressed, and never gave up on helping to make him feel better.
Silvanius Kettleburn
* Professor Kettleburn was regarded by Cato as rather eccentric like most students, but he also had great respect for the man as it was obvious he had been through a lot of turmoil and never let it stop him from enjoying what he wanted to do. Inside, he felt sorry for the professor, but he never really could admit this fact, as Cato would hate very much to bad-mouth him, even if he didnât mean it.

* Due to the events that had occurred early in his first year, and Snapeâs cold, unnerving demeanor, Cato felt intimated in his presence early on. He was strongly discouraged from excelling at Potions, and eventually admits that he wouldâve never ended up getting an O if it werenât for the expert Penny being such a kind and positive soul to him, and appreciated by Snape. Though Cato knew that he could count on Snape as an ally, his relationship with the Potions Master was strictly business, as any pleasantries had no place in their conversations.

Brother: Jacob Reese
* As a boy, Cato spent much time with Jacob playing in the Lake District near their home. The two were very close and spent many nights watching the beautiful sunsets, calming waters, and waiting for the stars to come out. After Jacob entered school, he and his brother went out to the countryside less often as Cato was getting older and needed to help out his mum at work. He always kept his investigations into the Cursed Vaults a secret from Cato, and wasnât as vocal or energetic as he used to be. Jacobâs brother never fully understood why he just up and disappeared. Though Cato felt sorry for Jacob when he heard he was expelled, he would slowly begin to secretly hate his brother for always keeping him in the dark, indirectly putting him in hot water, and causing his mum to have a breakdown that took many calming draughts to get over. Cato confides this to Ismelda in their fifth year.

Father: Edwin Reese
* Like his son, Catoâs father was a laid-back man who owned and operated a ranch with some animals and crops. Cato grew up on this ranch, and he found it to be quite cozy. Among the animals, chickens were raised there. Every weekend, Edwin took what his family didnât need down to the market in town for sale. He used to have a much more prestigious career as an auror, but a crippling injury sustained from a mission caused him to settle down and retire. Although Edwin fully recovered from it, he decided not to rejoin so he could spend more time with his family.
Mother: Sheila Ceres Windberth
* American-born and educated, Sheila was sorted into Pukwudgie house and graduated from Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the state of Massachusetts, USA. She is an herbologist, beautician and entrepreneur that makes her own products for her business. Cato was very close to his mother, and often helped her in the garden and in her workplace. She was descended from pioneers who migrated along the Oregon trail in the 1840s and had some heritage from a Native American people, most likely the Blackfoot. Sheila had met and married Catoâs father in the US and moved to England with him very shortly before Jacob was born.
Love Interest: Penny Haywood
* As a shy and reserved kid in his first year, Cato always looked up to the kindness of Penny, who was very popular. They made their acquaintance in mid-October after he had fought and won against Merula in a duel, earning Pennyâs admiration of him. She helped Cato open up to others at Hogwarts by spreading word of Catoâs heroism. Their first real bonding experience came in the form of helping out Hagrid with his birthday party.
* Penny was a close and dependable ally to Cato in his search for the Ice Vault. Although she was well-mannered and worked to please her professors, she had no issue helping her friend do anything that was necessary to help save the school. He always appreciated her willingness to always stand by his side at all costs.
*She gave Cato private potions lessons to help him get ahead in the class since he was at first intimidated by Snapeâs uncompromising attitude. Not only did Catoâs marks in the class improve, he had a better appreciation for it as a whole and found it to be quite fun. It also helped that Penny was liked by Snape for her talents, and she was able to put in a good word to help lighten the burden for her best friend.
* It was in their third year that romantic feelings formed between Cato and Penny. She helped him escape from a noisy crowd in the Three Broomsticks that was giving him quite the hard time, and went above and beyond by giving him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. He didnât know this, but Penny had feelings for him. She didnât admit it until the next year.
* While together on the decorating committee for the Celestial Ball in their fourth year, Penny confessed her feelings to Cato. They went together as dates, and had their first date together on the last weekend before school let out for the summer. Even with the strange events that took place in the following two years, the relationship between the two grew as they depended on each for company and comfort.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Pre Hogwarts:Â
* Cato was born on April 13, 1973 to Sheila and Edwin Reese. He grew up on a ranch in Cumbria, England. The Reeses lived fairly close to the Lake District and Cato, along with Jacob, spent much time there as kids. Cato helped his mum in the garden she used for her business. This and many adventures in the countryside with his brother helped foster a love of nature and creativity that remained throughout his Hogwarts years and adulthood.Â
* As he got older, Cato took on more responsibilities in his mumâs work, and he couldnât spend as much time out in the countryside as he used to. His relationship with Jacob slowly grew more distant, and it didnât help that he was hush-hush to him or his parents about his Cursed Vault adventures. Plus Sheila favored Cato over Jacob. While he appreciated this, he missed Jacob very much. They could only spend time together in the summer, and even then, Cato was still very busy helping his mum.
* It reached a breaking point in 1983, when Jacob was finally expelled. Inside, Cato knew that this would happen as his brother had grown distant, but he never understood why this had to happen. A year later, it would be time for him to go to Hogwarts too.
Hogwarts
First Year:
* The Daily Prophet, being funded by the Ministry, was determined to cover up the existence of the Cursed Vaults. Jacob was blamed for âspreading hearsayâ and âdisturbing the piece,â and Catoâs name popped up a few times in the paper. This led many of his peers at Hogwarts to gossip about how he is only âJacobâs pawnâ and the âreincarnation of the trouble that was him.â It didnât help that being a shy and guarded boy made socializing difficult.Â
* Cato began to have nightmares from time to time after escaping the Devilâs Snare. Several times, he woke up in the middle of the night in his dormitory, feeling very sweaty and hot. He feared that others like Merula would do things to him that were much worse. Slowly confiding to Rowan about this, Cato didnât want to burden anyone with his own problems, especially since he had little friends at this point and many students were suspicious of him.
* He used the suspicions about him as a drive to learn self-defense in case someone else like Merula tried to play hero and trying something stupid. Cato later made his first new friends at school by standing up to her, even if it cost him a few house points. He soon after became famous among most of his peers and was a welcome guest at many parties. Naturally, he expected it to take longer, but Penny took pleasure in helping to spread the word. With the burden off his shoulder some, Cato was grateful and felt the happiest in the first time at Hogwarts. The school was now truly his home.
Second Year:
* It was during this time that Cato decided early on what kind of work heâd be most comfortable in. Having made acquaintances with Bill and Charlie Weasley in his first year, he was introduced to Qudditch by the younger brother and his friend Andre. Cato tried out and became a reserve chaser. He never really committed much to the sport, but he was always happy to support his team in some way, whether on a broom or in the stands. The Ravenclaw team owed Cato a favor for saving them from the curse of the Ice Vault and they were always grateful for him.
* As the investigation into the Cursed Vaults grew bigger, Catoâs reputation at Hogwarts continued to work in his favor. His name was known even by some of the loners and introverts at the school, though not to the same degree as Pennyâs. One of them was an acquaintance of her named Chiara Lobasca. The ensuing adventure that followed after she and Cato first met was his first introduction to the issues that werewolves face and his sympathies for them.
* Sparing him a lot of potential stress and headache for the rest of the year,, Cato also had managed to beat Merula at her own game. She had tried to frame him for stealing potion ingredients. Being a Ravenclaw, he couldnât be fooled. As punishment, his rival was forced by Snape to help look after his potion store. It would take a while, but this victory helped spark the downfall of her rivalry with Cato.
Third Year:
* Cato was still very uneasy when anyone brought up the old rumors about the Reese family, and often had to bail to calm down on his own. One of these moments, he was enjoying his usual warm butterbeer with cream at the Three Broomsticks when one patron noticed Cato in the corner booth and chatted up others at the bar. He tried to take their clatter with a grain of salt, but soon it started bothering him. Penny helped him away from the crowd, later giving him a hug and a peck on the cheek. It was because of this moment Cato began to have romantic feelings for her.
* Meanwhile, Cato had become acquaintances with Tulip, who kept her friendship with Merula secret from her peers. They sometimes made small talk in class, but it wasnât until after Cato had met Tonks that he was properly introduced to Tulip.. After her betrayal, she wasnât as happy or motivated as she usually was. Tonks confided to Cato about her helping Tulip get over a depression after recovering some confiscated pranks from Filch and finding the mysterious lock on Jacobâs room with her name on it.
* It was early in the year that he became an animagus surprisingly quickly. Cato assumed an eagle form around November, and he chose to register instead of keeping it a secret because he couldnât trust poor Hagridâs loose tongue to not spill the beans. As he grew closer to Talbott, he realized that he wanted to become a bird so that he could provide company to his housemate. Cato sympathized a lot with Talbott since the poor boy had lost his family in such a violent way when he was only just a toddler, thus Cato was a brother-like figure to him.
Fourth Year:
* Catoâs rivalry with Merula began to subside around this time, but it would still be a while before they were friends. She remained prideful and self-centered as always, the tough-as-nails âbest witch at Hogwarts,â yet she also grew to be softer and less edgy as time went on. Even in the first place, Cato was never really bothered by this ego since if Merula was the best witch, heâd be the best wizard. Though he still found her boasting about it to be quite annoying.
* Since his third year, Cato always had a pet peeve for Emily Tyler. She was as worst as Gryffindors come; a snobbish, arrogant witch that always thought she was better than everyone else. Merula was in the same boat, but she at least was learning from her mistakes. On the other hand, Emily never faced much trouble as she was usually regarded as a model student and a popular girl, at odds with Penny. This rivalry reached its peak during the prep work for the Celestial Ball, and Cato, needing to keep his cool, had no choice but to put up with Emilyâs attitude, even though she was pretty nasty.
* He first rode a hippogriff in this time, and was completely taken away by the experience. Preluding to a life of adventure in the high desert, Cato longed for more opportunities like it after the ride was over.Â
Fifth Year:
* In his fifth year, Cato became a prefect for his merits in going above and beyond in times of crisis. He enjoyed the prestige and privileges, but found it difficult to balance his considerations for his friends and his duties because he was no stranger to trouble. He usually gave pranksters a pass, but when people got hurt, property was damaged, or stuff ended up stolen, Cato was sure to take away house points or give out detentions.
* Although placed in detention himself for trespassing in the Forbidden Forest the previous year, Catoâs name was eventually cleared by Alastor Moody early on. Due to his proficiencies in baking, he decided to volunteer for the kitchens either way after several students got food poisoning during the Halloweâen feast.
* Coming to understand more about Jacobâs behavior and motives when looking for the Cursed Vaults, Cato realized that he also hated his brother for not being honest with his family and leaving them without saying a word. He initially keeps these feelings a secret, but reveals them to Ismelda in his fifth year. Even so, he still shares a big hug with Jacob upon his rescue from the portrait in the vault.Â
Sixth Year:
* Since the end of their fifth year, Cato and Benâs usually strong bond was running into trouble. The Gryffindor had developed an ego from his traumatic experience last year and was trying to be his friendâs âprotectorâ without him giving permission or asking first. This reached the last straw during an altercation with Charlie, and Cato refused to speak to Ben for several weeks. They eventually forgave each other, but Cato did not want Benâs friendship again for a while.
Seventh Year
* All of his friends were surprised to see him when Cato returned to school with a new scar on his face. They were curious about how he got it, but he always brushed off the questions because he was worried that theyâd embarrass him if it was due to getting hurt. When he eventually told the truth about the scar being due to a lightning strike, they chastised him for putting himself in danger. Though over the years, Cato had gotten used to being in crowds, and he told everyone that he was really lucky to be alive, and things wouldâve been very different if no one was there to tend to him.Â
Order of the Phoenix / 2nd Wizarding War:
* After graduation, Cato takes a job as a cursebreaker in the United States. He gets married to Penny and together they move into a modest, cozy home in a rather nice neighborhood in Reno, Nevada. Like in his childhood, he found out he lived close to a major lake, Lake Tahoe. While off work, Cato and Penny take many trips up to the lake to go camping, ride the ATV trails, or canoe.Â
* As a curse-breaker, Cato doesnât work directly for Gringotts, but rather he is a freelancer who is mostly employed by an organization partially funded by the bank that promotes cooperation between the Native American tribes. He specializes in the connections between them and magic. He often works with Chiara, who followed him and Penny to Reno so she could train to become a healer. The three live in the same neighborhood, and often travel together since their goals are closely connected.Â
* Penny studies to become a professional potioneer, and she assists and sometimes works with Chiara since they benefit from each other. Cato spends most of his work trekking cross country instead of around the world. He eventually becomes a world famous curse-breaker due to his work with the native tribes.
* Cato tried to stay out of the conflict for as long as possible, though later when tensions escalated, he joined the Order the Phoenix in early 1997 to aid his friends in the fight against Voldemort and the Death Eater menace. He wasnât too fanatic about the cause, but he was fiercely loyal to the Order. At the height of the Second Wizarding War, Cato participated in the Battle of Hogwarts and survived. He was very distraught at the death of Tonks and Lupin, but he was encouraged by Penny to pick up the pieces and move on.

PERSONALITY
* Cato is, in short, a Ravenpuff. He is a Ravenclaw, but he has traits that are usually associated with other houses, most of which come from Hufflepuff. He is very intelligent and rather creative, having grown up close to the picturesque Lake District in the county of Cumbria in England. Cato is analytical and has a keen eye for attention to detail. He is in turn logical and has a good sense of judgment. Also compassionate and sensitive to otherâs feelings, Cato is quite empathetic and doesnât like to hate people. He tries to get along with everyone, but at times, he has trouble opening up about his feelings, especially when he cannot pull out the right words to describe them. Cato has a tendency to overthink and overanalyze things, which sometimes can make him misunderstand other people or get the wrong impressions of them, him being off away caught up in his own theories and conclusions.Â
* Especially in his first year, he is quite shy and reserved, masking this with a warm and easy-going demeanor. Cato is nervous when asked personal questions, but he tries to not make it clear as to avoid placing unnecessary burden on others. Heâd rather not freely give answers just to satisfy some strangerâs curiosity, and tries to avoid the topic. He is more sociable when in the company of his friends, however. Catoâs difficulty with expressing his feelings is a result of him being a guarded boy when in public. Even in the company of Penny or close friends, he sometimes hesitates when trying to explain.
* When everything is okay, Cato is a regular boy who sees Hogwarts as his home, a place to make friends and enjoy spending time with them, hone his magic skills and uncover fascinating secrets. His flaws however become more apparent in times of distress and crisis. Cato when stressed is more prone to mood swings. He fears the unknown and it becomes a chore for his friends to keep him staying positive and assured everything will be alright. He is more likely to give off a whiny attitude, and is prone to going off on rants or rambles.Â
* Due to the unwanted attention from his first year, Cato doesnât like being gossiped about very much. He tries to avoid taking it seriously, but when a lot of people in the same room whisper about him, he can get quite uncomfortable and annoyed, and will often have to see himself out to get away from the crowd. It is this that helps to spark feelings between Cato and Penny in their third year.Â
* While he is usually soft, warm and loves hugs, Cato has no problem being a fierce warrior when the need arises. He is pretty protective of his friends and has a good sense of justice. Most of the time, he has a lot of patience and tolerance, but when angry, he can be pretty ferocious, especially when one of his friends gets hurt. This has led to more than a couple fights between Cato and his friends. It shows more often in Year 6 when Ben has a change in personality.Â
MISC
* Catoâs favorite thing to draw or take pictures of is beautiful sunsets at dusk. He spent many days in the Lake District watching them with Jacob, and this fascination would continue well into his Hogwarts years. He really treasures the sunset photo Chiara gave him because it reminds him of his childhood so much.
* From time to time, Catoâs father would play piano in the pub to make some extra money. His son learned the instrument from him and plays it often when heâs homesick or misses his family. Heâd probably love a duet!
* He is a hugger, and is pretty ticklish. Cato loves it when Penny plays with his hair, and she is good at giving him backrubs!
* Cato enjoys baking, and he can make basic cookies by the end of his third year. He is mostly drawn to the nice scents and the relaxed atmosphere. It really reminds him of his relationship with Penny, which is very dear to him.
* He is a bit of a thrill seeker, and sometimes yearns for opportunities where he can get feelings of freedom and adventure, another throwback to the days he used to spend exploring the Lake District during his childhood. This is why riding on a hippogriff for the first time is such a happy memory for Cato.
* After moving to Reno, Cato took up model railroading as a hobby. He built the layout in the basement of his home, using only muggle tools, materials and techniques. Many of the scenes in it are inspired by Badeeaâs work. The centerpiece is a massive steel arch bridge overshadowed by the massive sun setting below a deep valley, in a hue of red, orange yellow and purple.
* Catoâs favorite constellation is Ursa Major, the Great Bear. He can make it out by the Big Dipper formation in the night sky.Â

They are an interesting pairing. I definitely think they wouldnât have had much of a secure friendship through Hogwarts. They were both preoccupied with their own things and growing a bit more jaded each time. Konnor likely wouldâve been a bit too stressed with his more easily read friends to go full blown with Rebecca, but I imagine its something he always regrets and probably makes right on afterwards. After Hogwarts, I can see him having run into her a few more times during the war where heâs working for the Order. Heâd probably be that person to try and convince her to help their side no matter what the cost and that she can make her own path and future. Could even offer to do things in secret for her/etc. Overall I can see a lot of potential growth for them during the order and even on after where he maybe considers her a good friend now and promises to be there for her family when he couldnât at the very beginning.
Hirtia/Clovis
She seems so so sweet and misunderstood and god I love the idea of Clovis being her rock. Hirtia has definitely had a rough go at things and seems like the type to let her emotions rule her to a point she goes in way over her head where things get muddled and Clovis is naturally a very calm and neutral person. Heâd find ways to calm her and help her think things out. Of course, its also a two way street, at times I think those outbursts of emotions could be really exhausting for Clovis and theyâd have to work to find a healthy balance of how to help each other and be friends in a way that wonât hurt them both because we all know Clovis has a tendency to be insensitive even when he means well. Heâd definitely think her abilities are fascinating though and I could imagine them getting along really well. âĽ

I see you're still posting so I'm going to sneak in. Hal x Konn and Luca x Clovis as friends.
You already know these!!
Hal/Konn
Theyâre best friends in every regard. The kind of friends who tried being romantic at one point and realized it was just better to laugh at each other and support one another without all that kissing and oogling. They even live next to each other as neighbors when theyâre adults and Konnor is like a third dad to Hal and Charlieâs kids. He really loves and appreciates Hal a lot considering all theyâve been through and how much theyâve looked out for each other. Ending everything with working to rebuild different sections of the ministry together just seems so sweet. And we canât forget all the times Hal spent locked in Konnorâs basement in chains during the full moons, dumb little werewolf. Konn has always tempted fate by making sure he never turned alone.
Luca/Clovis
These two are a funny pair. Clovis is naturally drawn to people who have this kind of darker edge to them. Not in regards of damaged or toxic in some form, but a genuine darkness that seems to follow them. He found it in Evander who shares similar problems with feeling lost in who he is, and also finds it in Luca. It comforts him and makes him feel less alone and I feel a lot of times heâs definitely Lucaâs rational voice. I still like the idea that Luca taunts him with their conflicting religions just to see how they differentiate things and also the idea of Luca tracking Clovisâ ass through the veil the one time he gets lost during a dream. Iâm just super excited for actual content to be able to write, but theyâll be really good friends for sure n.n
