“Let’s all go to Dragon Land!” 🐉

First piece for 2024, Dragon Tales!

Made in Sai/Csp (8 hours)

I challenged myself to draw all of the line art with the crayon tool in Sai. It was a bit tough, especially when it came to selecting a small portion of random pieces with the magic wand tool…I made it work though.

I was 10 when this show aired in 99…and now I’m 34 and I still watch it for the nostalgia. My first drawing of this was made in 2016, so I redrew it 8 years later.

Saphira: “You can thank Brom for the saddle.”

Eragon was one of those movies I was exposed to before I knew anything about the books. Of course, after the backlash the movie received (typical) I decided to go ahead and read the books too.

Of course, the books were better. They always are. Books explain things more in depth and also fill in the gaps with information movie media is limited to (usually because of budget)

I enjoyed Saphira’s design in the movie. I enjoyed the movie. Had I not seen it, I wouldn’t have known anything about the books.

I enjoyed working on this piece. There were so many different things I played around with, especially with the textured brushes in CSP.

My contribution to Spyro’s 25 Anniversary.

Sadly due to a tragic event in my family, I wasn’t able to complete my piece on time. This was hard to work on because of that, but I pulled through despite what happened.

I also remade this piece twice. Once in 2015 and the other back in 2018, I’m happy I improved a bit. When I first made this, I drew Spyro from memory because using refs was considered “illegal”.

The adventure continues…🦋

Decided to redraw my Brother Bear piece from 2015. I’m not good at drawing bears, but I thought it would be nice practice, and this piece needed a upgrade desperately.

My initial sketch was a bit disproportionate to what bear anatomy really is. With some help from a wonderful artist, I was able to correctly make the anatomy realistic.

This piece is my first piece that I did the line art completely in CSP. That programs stabilizer is stronger than Sai’s. I had a lot of fun making this.

Have you ever had one of those days where you’re perfectly okay feeling like you’re pretty, despite what others may say?

You wouldn’t have caught a picture of me before 2015. Now, I’ve become okay with how I look to some. I became okay finally posting the ugliness people saw me as. I was brave to go against their thoughts and post photos of me anyway.

My outside visual to some now, is how I see myself on the inside. I am beautiful! Physical beauty may appeal more valuable to some. However, there’s a 50% chance that’s just a facade.

Internal beauty can be difficult to portray sometimes. In time, it will radiate more than what most people see on the outside. It will become timeless.

Bowen: “SHUT UP!”

Dragonheart. It was my first real experience of a dragon in a movie besides the 1 minute debut of Maleficent’s dragon in Sleeping Beauty.

The cgi still holds strong, 27 years later.

I loved working on this despite my hand cramping bad. I used lots of texture brushes in Clip Studio. I had to redo a bit of the line work since I wasn’t really aware of the shape of Draco’s belly plates. The reference was a bit too dark to tell.

Kane: “The Atlawas want to worship you now!”

Another addition to my mini TLoS (The Legend of Spyro) series. This is the meetup of Cyril and Kane after the rescue. It was also one of my favorite lands to travel in, inside the game.

Love the fact that Sparx wanted to be worshiped by the Atlawas tribe, I let him have that moment in this piece.

I had fun with this. Lots of greens and blues used here. Lots of quick methods of shading, and lots of techniques applied too. I hope you like it. :)

My dog is acutely aware of when I’m down and having a bad day. Whenever she notices me not being myself, she fetches her cheeseburger toy and places it on my lap. She also places it in front of every room I may be in. I’ll randomly hear that little squeak from her toy, and it’s just the cutest thing ever.

Freyja will be 7, March 17. The running joke we like to make, is telling people she’s not a German Shepherd she’s an “Irish Shepherd” since she was born on St. Patrick’s Day. ☘️

She brings me so much joy!

Once 🌙

My late entry for this years #spyrocommunityday event, featuring Cynder. I wanted to draw her more often, so here she is.

I always wonder about what really goes on in her head after she broke out of Malefor’s curse. Does she accept the fact that many saw her as a ruthless dark monster? How many of them knew about her being corrupted? Does she still see herself as such a terror when she looks at her reflection?

No doubt, a tinge of guilt would always harbor over me. I myself would always see me as what I use to be. It would be hard to move on; hard to accept any praise I receive, I would grow recluse and hide in shame. I would just hope I would have a friend helping me get through these darks thoughts, as Cynder does. Maybe I’m into this too deep? Yet, I can’t help but wonder what Cynder is really going through.

S1. Ep. 32- The Flame Pokémon-athon!

This is a tribute piece dedicated to my late mom. Her birthday is October 23. She would have been 54. Originally, this was a collab between me and Olivia Haines, but I decided to work on this one alone.

I love how this collab began. The two of us teaming up together to work on this over the years and with every collab, we’ve gotten better and better. It was so awesome watching ourselves improve every year. Look where we are now! 💕

My mom loved Rapidash so I drew the episode it debuted in called The Flame Pokemon-Athon.

I dedicate a photo to her on her birthday because I’m full of guilt and regret that I should have abated while she was here. No matter how many pictures I dedicate, it will never fix anything. :(

I wanted to draw something very challenging to balance out the easier things I’ve been drawing. I decided to draw Velkhana from Monster Hunter Stories 2. Velkhana is my favorite of the Elder Dragons, I’m usually fond of the more graceful, elegant, and original monsters. Though, goofy ones are also my fav, too.

I played around so much in CSP. I used SeaSaltShrimp’s custom scale brushes, and TamberElla’s custom foliage brushes. I had to draw Velkhana’s scales individually to be as consistent as possible with her design. The most frustrating part was shading everything. I also ran into a bump that made my computer reset, forcing me to re-line the whole thing ALL OVER AGAIN!!! Even though this really tested my patience, I still enjoyed breaking my limits. I think it turned out well once it was completed. I didn’t want to add all the stat bars that are in the game, I just kept it simple. Hope you like it!
