6 Steps To Getting Dates On Facebook
The cooking gods have rained their wisdom down upon me and given me one of the best kept dating secrets to ever grace the Earth - posting photos of everything you cook on Facebook.
Here's how it works:
1) Cook something delicious - all of the below are valid options. The Broiled Chicken w/ Basil Mayonnaise works like a charm in my experience.
2) Plate it so it looks better than Pamela Anderson in Baywatch (yeah, I'm not sure if its possible either).
3) Upload it to Facebook with a caption that makes you look like a champion. For example: "What I'm Going To Cook For My Wife", "Gift For My Neighbors", "Just Another Tuesday Night Dinner".
4) Thank everyone for all the crazy nice comments.
5) Direct message all the smokin' hot babes (or studs) that left comments, inviting them to come over and cook/enjoy a smokin' hot meal with you.
6) Thank me.
This sure-fire plan works for either sex. To attract men, all you need to do is tweek your captions and recipes to be more dude friendly. Maybe make a couple Bison Burgers with a caption that says "First Guy that Gets Here Gets It". Trust me, you'll have them running.
-- Don't Be Selfish! Share this with your friends so they can get dates too!!!
And buy Trufflehead so you can learn how to cook!!!

Trufflehead just partnered up with the coolest new cooking blog on the web - Cookin' For Good Lookin'. It's like no food blog you've ever seen before. While it's all about healthy, affordable, and fast recipes, it's more so about fun and inspiring people how to cook. In their words:
Cookin For Good Lookin is here to inspire the young, broke, and awesome to cook!!!!
But unlike other cooking blogs, we’re going to get you cooking for the right reason – LOVE!!! While we’re all about affordable, fast, and healthy meals, we’re more concerned about how cooking can help us find a good lookin’ partner with a smokin’ hot personality.
It’s a fact that cooking turns 5 into 10′s. It transforms awkward, uninteresting boys into irresistible studs; and swag-less, ordinary girls into show-stopping celebrities that anyone would be proud to take home to their mother.
We know because we all started cooking not too long ago (got tired of PB&J), and now are having an awesome time entertaining and romancing people week in and week out. Because everyone loves someone who can make it happen in the kitchen!
Beyond romance, we’re here to make you laugh, share great photos, and be your new best friend!

Bachelor Pad Cooking: Broiled Chicken w/ Basil Mayonnaise
My name is Mike Vosters, a 20-something techie living in NYC. After years of eating peanut butter and jelly, pop tarts, and other garbage I decided to get my life together and start cooking in 2012.
Tumblr media
With the help of my friend Nicole, I put procrastination aside and started swiping through the entree recipes on Trufflehead - a cooking app for iPhone and iPad. The photos all looked good, but I decided to make Broiled Chicken w/ Basil Mayonnaise my first victim because I was starving and it looked filling.
It was around 7:30pm when Nicole and I embarked on our epic journey to the grocery store. While she navigated the aisles like a pro, I trailed behind looking like a deer in the headlights - confused and scared. What in the world is all this food for? Why would anyone need this many choices of mayonnaise?
Tumblr media
About 20 minutes later, we were headed back to the house w/ everything we needed to make the chicken, plus pita and hummus for appetizers, sweet potatoes for our side dish, wine, and fudge rounds for dessert (C'mon, you didn't think I'd go cold turkey on pre-packaged treats did you?).
All that cost $42 in total - subtract the wine and extras and it was around $25.
We followed the recipe to a T, looking to Trufflehead's demos for help in grating a lemon and peeling and pressing the garlic clove, and had the chicken and basil mayonnaise prepared in under 30 minutes.
Tumblr media
After about 10 minutes broiling, the chicken came out absolutely perfect. My photo doesn't do it justice, but trust me it was incredible. The lemon, basil, mayonnaise combination was literally one of the best things I'd ever tasted.
Tumblr media
One problem we did run into was that we didn't realize that the sweet potatoes took over an hour to bake, so we ended up throwing a ton of brown sugar on top and eating those for dessert along w/ the fudge rounds.
All in all, I'm calling this meal an epic success. The chicken itself took less than an hour - shopping, prep, baking, and eating included, it tasted like heaven, and we had leftovers for the next day, which means we ate like kings for about $10 a person.
Tumblr media
So cheers to a great start to 2012 - the year a bachelor finally learned how to cook.

Stir-Fried Vegetables with Ginger and Garlic
This stir-fry is a triple threat. Skip the protein and it makes a great side. (Serve it with Hoisin-Molasses Pork Tenderloins, Broiled Sesame Salmon, or simple meats, poultry, or seafood.) Add tofu for a vegetarian entrée. Toss in some cooked chicken or shrimp, and you've got a one-pot meal for meat-eaters. All options work with brown rice. Tips: If you can't find oyster mushrooms, go with white or cremini. To clean them, either brush with a mushroom brush or rinse under cold running water and pat dry.

Cannellini Salad with Tomatoes, Anchovies and Capers
Here’s a speedy bean salad with bright, fresh, Mediterranean flavors. For variety, use halved cherry or grape tomatoes instead of Roma (plum). In August or September, try heirloom tomatoes. Serve with Grilled Tuna with Spicy Scallion Mayonnaise, Broiled Chicken with Basil Mayonnaise, or Herb-Grilled Shrimp with Lemon Mayonnaise. Too much work? Cook shrimp or calamari in olive oil with garlic and parsley. If you can’t face a skillet, top with boiled shrimp, canned tuna or salmon, or HB eggs. Tip: The anchovies add depth and intensity, but—if they’re not your thing—just omit them.

Coconut Rice
Short grain brown rice goes creamy and exotic when it’s steeped in coconut milk, and toasted coconut adds a crunchy finish. If their subtle natural sweetness doesn't do it for you, play it up with the optional sugar. Serve as a luxurious accompaniment to Indian dishes, such as Curried Mango Chicken Thighs, Spiced Turkey Kebabs, or Tandoori Chicken. Tip: If you have any rice left over, stir in a little more coconut milk and some raisins. Then warm in the microwave for a yummy instant breakfast.

Hoisin-Molasses Pork Tenderloins
How do you like your pork? Crusty on the outside? Juicy on the inside? With, perhaps, a lip-smacking glaze? Check, check, check. Don’t be put off by the time estimate. The total is more than an hour because it includes the marinating step, but the active cooking time is under 30 minutes. For variety, grill the tenderloins instead of roasting them: Give them 3 to 4 minutes on each of 4 sides (12 to 16 minutes total) for medium meat. Make the glaze as directed in the recipe. The marinade can also be used on pork chops and veal chops. Guest-worthy sides include Hot Sesame Green Beans, Hot and Sweet Asian Slaw, Sesame Slaw with Pea Pods, and Fennel-Pepper Slaw with Ginger. Tip: Pasture-raised pork is the most eco-friendly choice.

Crab Bundles with Avocado-Ginger Sauce
These no-cook crab roll-ups make a no-sweat summer appetizer or main course. Got brown rice vinegar? If not, use unseasoned rice vinegar instead. You can even use the seasoned kind in a pinch. If your supermarket sells sushi, you can usually find pickled ginger nearby; but you should also be able to find it in jars in the Asian section of the international aisle. A couple of tips: Avocado turns brown when exposed to the air, so don’t cut until you’re ready to use it. Also, don’t forget to pick over the crab to remove any bits of shell. (Check out the demo if you don’t know what this means.)

Coconut Pumpkin Soup with Apples and Pears
Purists would season this exotic but easy fall soup with garam masala—a classic Indian blend of cumin, black pepper, and “warm” spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and cardamom). Since you may not have g.m. in your pantry, we work around it with user-friendly options that give it a similar kick. It's so tasty, an unsuspecting purist might even go for it. If you happen to have g.m., use ½ teaspoon and omit the pumpkin pie spice, cloves, and cardamom. Tips: For a vegetarian version, use vegetable instead of chicken broth. To make it elegant rather than rustic, transfer the soup to a blender in batches and process until smooth. If you don’t have ground cardamom, just skip it. Hot food lovers should add the full ½ teaspoon cayenne. Finally, you can substitute 3 to 4 cups pureed cooked pumpkin for the canned pumpkin (and you may not need the brown sugar).

Cherry Clafoutis
If you’re craving a cherry-studded custard pudding thing, check out our take on this classic French dessert. The accent is on the last syllable, the “s” is silent, and the result is delectable. You can make it year-round because frozen cherries work as well as fresh. (They're cheaper too.)

Cod Chowder with Canadian Bacon
In New England, bowls of “chowdah” bulge with butter and cream, and this skinny version would be considered an outrage. Still, it’s a tasty soup full of tender cod, smoky bacon, and sweet onions. A secret ingredient (pureed silken tofu) adds body and creaminess, and a sprinkling of parsley gives it a bright, fresh finish. It really hits the spot on blustery fall day or whenever there’s a chill in the air. To turn it into a complete meal, add a green salad and some whole grain bread. Tip: The most eco-friendly types of cod are U.S. Pacific and U.S. Gulf of Maine hook-and-line. Try to avoid Atlantic trawl cod.
