zhongli loves waking up next to you. the tranquil hum of every early morning does nothing but lull him back to sleep. as he turns a quarter, he sees your face. and for how much weight it truly holds, zhongli is certain that this has got to be on of the most rewarding moments he would ever procure in this lifetime.
zhongli loves the way you dance. as a man who’s lived to see the cessation of one too many a friend—and foe, for that matter—one would think that such an act would prove to be folly for him. however, zhongli couldn’t help but indulge you as you swayed to a fine liyuean tune that seemingly draped your night in rose petals. the way your eyes lit up a tad bit more after every spin does not go unnoticed by your lover.
zhongli believed he held the deepest human sentiment for you. and you, the fool in this godforsaken circumstance, have decided to delude yourself into believing that he wholeheartedly did. not until one day deep into the night where you witnessed him silently weep and beg for a woman that has long returned to ashes.
that same night, you wept alongside your lover for you have always known that zhongli longed for a touch that you could not, could never, provide.
