Honestly, I share that same fear with you.
Tumblr media
She is more than a romatic catalyst for a Robin. (ngl, I shipped her with Dick on TT and in the comics, but her character is more than just to pair up with a Robin).
I am actually hoping Damien doesn’t show up because there are other characters to focus on that aren’t part of the Bat Fam.
NOT saying it’s a bad paring or I don’t like the characters, I just think it’s imprint to flesh out the other 10 characters you have before introducing more.
One fear: the real reason Rachel is so young in Titans is bc they’re gonna introduce Damian in season 4 or 5 or something and they’ll pair them off.

Same boat my friend. Half empty club for sure.

Watching people complaining about the batfam 'dominating' the teaser trailer, knowing full well this is just ONE of the trailers.

*Enough already. Glass always half empty, instead of half full, eh?*

Honestly, I don’t know how to feel with the teaser trailer
Like I’m excited to see everyone coming back on
And the new costumes
And from the trailer, I see they put work into the story line. Like Scarecrow and Red Hood? Damn, you got my attention.
BUT
Wasn’t this suppose to be Kory’s season? That’s what they kept saying.
By the looks of it, it’s Jason’s season
Yes, yes, I know there’s going to be two bi season concepts in one, but the whole trailer revolved around Jason and Gotham.
There are positives:
It feels different. In a good way. I don’t know if it’s them finally taking us seriously or being on HBO Max, but I am developing hope.
The concept seems more concrete instead of plot points stamped together.
I know it’s just the teaser and we are still waiting for the trailer, but I have some tiny flame of hope still going!

So Titans season three is premiering in... 3 months?
The lack of progress is frighting me.
On the plus side, Starfire and Blackfire look like queens

In order to save him, we would need a level of radiation that can’t be found on this Earth. We would need to fly him to the sun, and we don’t have time for that. By now, in order to heal him we would need to bring the sun here.
Well, why didn’t you say so?

—You Matter—
Based on the DC Universe show: Takes place during one of the first battles the new Titans have together. Though some people don’t go by the plan
—————————————————————————-
Silence was a very rare occurrence with the young group of teens. If it wasn’t Jason and Rose fighting over the last bow of ceral or Gar typing away at leads late at night, it was usually the everyday sounds of roommates living together
Silence meant that no good was to come
[[MORE]]They sat around the dinning room table, all but the center light on. Still dressed in their superhero garb, the silence dared for someone to speak up. No one budged, the dame of emotions ready to break when the conversation started.
Of course Jason was the one to break the tension. “I don’t understand why he’s even mad. We still got the bad guy.” His mask was sitting in the center, his legs kicked up on the table.
“Yeah, but you didn’t follow the plan, Bird Brain.” Rose threw her weapons onto the ground, the heavy clank vibrating the floor. “You went off track and tried to do your own shit.”
“Not to mention it was our first time without Dick or Kory.” Gar spoke up, starting to take his boots off.
“And? Nothin’ happened! We didn’t need them. We got the bad guy, the jewels are safe and the Titans won again.” He lifted his shoulders, his hands moving behind his head.
“Because the cops had him and you still attacked.” Gar moved to sit on the chair opposite from Jason, sighing. “Dick said—“
“Who cares what Dick said! Dick is one of them pigs anyway, so of course Dick would say anything to make his ‘boys in blue’ look good. I took the asshole down and now he’s in jail.”
Rose rolled her eyes, narrowing them as she glared at him. “You’re really stupid, you know that? You didn’t even notice.”
“Notice what?” Jason looked over at them one by one, not understanding what they were getting at.
“He had a gun, Jason.” Rachel finally spoke up from her place on the kitchen counter. She sat crisis-cross, her mug steaming. She kept her gaze on him, her expression unreadable.
“OK? So—“
“Man, we didn’t know he had a gun!” Gar leaned into the table. “None of us. Rose and I lost view of you, and we couldn’t move because we had to keep an eye out on civilians. Luckily, Rach could and when you turned, she saw the gun. She got hold of it from where she was, but what if she wasn’t there?”
“It would’ve been fine! Not like I haven’t been shot at before.”
“But you know Dick always says if you need to run after someone, you go in pairs. That’s why he’s mad, Jay. Because—“ Gar started
“Because I ruined his vision! His ‘plans!’ Well, plans break and he’s just butt hurt because I embarrassed him, becaus-“
“Because he was afraid.” Rachel said softly. She set her mug down, moving to let her legs dangle. “I could feel him when he was talking to Kory in the training room. When I gave him the gun, he was scared. If it shot you in the right moment—“
“But it didn’t! So now you are all—“
“Fuck! Can someone actually finish a sentence!” Rose growled as she held a bowl of Cinnamon Toast, standing up. She took her mask off, throwing it with her weapons. “For some reason, Dick actually cares about you and didn’t want you to become a human pin cushion. And if you died, he would have to explain to Angry Ken why your stupid self died. And then he would have to explain to Dawn and so on. So yeah, you were being stupid and almost got your ass killed. And then I would have to spend my weekend in a fucking funeral home with the media up my ass.”
“Like it matters! It isn’t like Bruce doesn’t have another Robin lined up anyway! Some nerdy kid, Timothy or whatever. I die, they’ll just shove him in my place and the world will continue on.”
Rachel tilted her head a bit at him, the uncertain emotions she was feeling from him becoming clearer. She blocked out his and Rose’s yelling, the crunching sound of ceral as she shook her spoon at him. Gar was drumming his fingers, injecting in when he had a moment or two. She watched his defense, knowing the true feelings that was pumping through him. The facade he built.
*******************************************************
When everyone finally settled in, she found Jason sparring with himself. He was trying to ignore the small teen, instead hoping she would just leave on her own. As he continued seeing her black sweater in his vision, he suddenly stopped. A cooling affect overtaking his sore muscles.
“Look, if you came to continue the fight, I’m not in the mood. So just kindly get the hell away.” He turned to the empath, breathing heavy.
“I didn’t.” Rachel said, keeping her eyes trained on him.
“Well good, then just le-“
“You know you matter, right?” Her phrasing wasnt meant to be accusing, rather a reminder.
Jason hated the fact that her eyes seemed to look into your soul. Sure, he knew she had some freaky mind reading bullshit
‘Empath. She’s an empath, Jason. It means she can read your feelings. She can’t read your mind’.
He could almost hear Kory’s regal voice ring in his ears. ‘Whatever you say, your highness.’
But that didn’t mean it still didn’t freak him out when her icy puppy dog eyes looked at him like she could see ever sin he’s ever done.
Poor girl would be traumatized
“What are you talking about?”
“Exactly what I said. You know you matter, right?” She repeated, her eyes creasing. She stepped further into the room.
“Is this some test I wasn’t told? Or are you here ‘cause Dick put you up to this?”
“No.” She said, her hands folded in front of her. “I just....” She pushed her lips out in thought. She looked up at him again, seeing his disdained face. “Remember when Dick had us go to the children’s cancer ward in Jump City last month? We were dressed in our suits.”
He nodded, his arms folded over his chest. He would play whatever game she had and go back to his training.
“And the kids roared with joy when you stepped in as Robin. The feelings.... I know you can’t feel it like I can.... but the emotions those little boys were giving out....” She smiled softly as she remembered the overwhelming warmth that overtook her when Jason stepped into the room. “It’s pure— love. Unconditional, raw, love. Those little ones were throwing all this love at you. And little did you know, you were giving it right back. You weren’t pretending. You honestly enjoyed yourself. You and that cocky, stupid grin. You and those kids were one in the same at that moment.”
“My point is Jason.... you matter. And that’s why Rose and Gar were upset you didn’t follow the plan. That’s why Dick got mad you ran off and didn’t let the cops take the robber down when they had the chance. Because we almost lost you last time. Luckily, Connor was able to grab you when he did. But what if I wasn’t there to grab the gun when I did? He could’ve hit you and you wouldn’t have been saved this time.”
“So next time, if you can’t understand why we get upset that you did something like that, at least remember the little boy. Hooked up to an oxygen tank and with maybe three months to live, watching the funeral of his Robin and his heart breaking. Remember that you matter to him and all those other little boys. Remember that you were once that little boy who looked up to a man in a black suit and the joy you felt when you met him.” She finished, her chest heaving at her words. “Just remember.” She turned on her heels, walking out of the room
That was probably the most Jason has heard Rachel talk. And not once did he hear her usual sarcasm or light banter. His arms were still folded over his chest, shifting on his legs when he was sure her footsteps were long gone. He pulled his lips in, his cheeks puffing out with warm air. He looked back at the punching back, kicking it with his foot lightly. “Fuckin’ mind reader....” he mumbled.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The next morning was bustling with the usual banter.
“I’m telling you, Tiger Boy, I am not eating no damn tofu bacon. If I wanted to eat a fucking leather shoe, I would eat a fucking shoe.” Rose wrinkled her nose in disgust as she peeked at his pan, grabbing the orange juice.
“You can’t even tell the difference! And it’s good for the environment.”
“So is those metal straws, but I’m not doing that VSCO girl shit either.” Rose went to sit beside Rachel at the dinning room table, starting on her waffles.
Jason walked into the kitchen, Gar and Rose looking over. He grabbed a bowl, pouring some ceral. Jason glanced over, pouring his milk into the bowl. He turned to look at Rose, then to Gar. The unusual silence back. He went over to the table to sit across from the girls, looking back to Gar. “Actually, tofu isn’t too bad. I’m sure tofu bacon isn’t too bad.”
“See!”
“Oh, you too! We aren’t having this discussion! I will gladly burn a hole in the Ozone so I don’t have to stop eating real bacon!”
Jason laughed as the fight ensued again, looking over to share a glance with Rachel. They shared a fleeting, soft smile, before she went back to her breakfast.
Maybe it was alright to matter to some people.

Don’t
Because this would happen if Rachel went with Kory instead of Donna on that Uber ride
——————————————————————————
Kory looked down at her phone as she felt the buzz. She bit the inside of her cheek, looking over at the others. The inevitable was going to happen, and she feared of the back lash.
Time needed to heal the wounds. But they weren’t giving it.
She texted back quickly so the others wouldn’t notice
[[Text]]: I need to take care of some business first
As tensions released and everyone started to part, she got up to go into the kitchen to attempt to comfort Gar.
“Can I go with you?”
Both women were standing there, but Kory took it as Rachel speaking to her. She looked over at Donna who hesitated. Donna didn’t know the first thing about Rachel and wasn’t prepared to take on the responsibility “Yes.”
Kory would take the small detour. Rachel was a little surprised when Kory answered, but nodded. Donna gave a sigh of relief, walking into her room to gather her belongings.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
As they sat in the Uber together, the silence was overwhelming with confusion and hurt.
“They were all a part of it.” Rachel said softly, looking out the window at the construction. “They all kept it a secret.”
Kory nodded, her sunglasses on as she looked straight ahead. “I know. Everyone just needs to cool off so they can think clearer. Everything will work for the best. It’s better to not be irrational during this time. But we need to come back together to talk about what happened.”
Rachel kept her gaze outside, her hand on the handle. She just— she needed to go. She felt the overwhelming feelings of guilt and anger. From where, she couldn’t place it, but the construction in the background was pounding in her head and making her unable to think. But Kory.... she glanced at her as she sat straight backed against the seat. Her glasses obstructing her eyes from others. She couldn’t just leave.... and if she tried to hold Kory back.... Kory would not be happy with her if she used her powers on her. Maybe if she was quiet enough, she could slip before Kory noticed she stepped out. And then she would be long gone.
She opened the cab door, stepping out a foot before she was yanked in by Kory’s strong grip. She gasped with a painful huff as she was sitting back in her seat. She looked over to see Kory still had her glasses on and kept her gaze straight
“If you honestly think I am going to let you walk the streets of New York with just a ripped up sweater and no food, you got me confused.” She glanced over ever so slightly, head nodding to the open door. “Close it.”
Rachel closed the door quickly, straightening herself in her seat. The driver looked into the mirror, doing his best to control his laughter. A slight snort was heard.
“Like I said, we need to cool off. I don’t need you losing your mind as well. Do you understand me?” She turned to look at Rachel, moving her glasses down slowly.
Rachel was looking out the window again, the car starting to move ever so slightly. “Yes.” She said softly.
“Good.” She pushed her bang back with the back of her hand, going back to stare straight ahead. “You may be able to pull that with Dawn or Donna, but you best not try me.”
The Uber drive couldn’t contain himself after that.

Makeup
Because I had this idea in my head for awhile and I finally had a moment to put it into words.
——————————————————————————
She wasn’t expecting to come back, but with the emotional call from Rachel and the clear need for parental guidance, Kory took hold of one of the many spare rooms in the tower. She picked one that was on the other side of the tower, so that she could have some peace and quiet.
Even with the stress and emotions going on, it felt nice to have a place to call her own. And for her to put her things in one area. She was tired of logging around her bags and found it fairly easy to put all her belongings away.
Especially her makeup
She was glad to see that Earth and Tamaran share a love for makeup. While the makeup looks on Earth were tame compared to her looks back home, she still liked to honor her home planet by recreating looks. Even if she got double takes from humans. She found it as a compliment rather than judgement.
And she found that there was something close to an obsession with makeup on Earth. There were thousands upon thousands of videos she can find on her phone of people putting makeup on. And she enjoyed watching them and get ideas. She would put her phone on and get ready for the day.
Typically, someone would wander in. Gar would sit on the edge of her bed and talk to her. Or sometimes she could see from the corner of her eye Rose standing in the hallway. But she could tell the girl didn’t seem to want to come in. Jason even came in and huffed at what she was doing. But it was usually Rachel who would wander in and sneak into the covers of her bed and fall asleep.
She was having issues with a particular look one morning and glanced over to see the young girl in her bed. “Rachel?”
It was a moment before a small ‘hmmm?’ buzzed under her covers.
“I need your help.”
Another few moments passed before Rachel pulled the cover from over her head to reveal her half awake face and messed up hair. “With?”
“I need you to come here. I need to try this look and it isn’t working for me. Come here.”
Rachel stretched her legs and arms out, before she slipped out of the bed and over to Kory’s vanity. She pulled over a chair and sat beside her. She rubbed her eyes, yawning a bit. She looked over at Kory’s set up, grabbing her comb to brush her hair back.
“Here. Wipe your face.” Kory handed her a face wipe, replaying the video.
She did as she was told, focusing on any remaining eye liner she had on the day before. She threw the wipe away, sitting there in sleepy slience.
Kory turned to her as she paused the video, her hand on the girls chin to pull her closer. “On my planet, we only have a few make up choices and it cost a lot of currency. But here, on Earth, there is so much of it and it is very cheap.”
Rachel looked down at the abundance of products she had, a lot that were high branded. “Considering what you have, and the price some of those items are, I am assuming it’s very expensive on your planet.” She felt Kory squeeze her chin to focus back to look at her.
Kory focused on her task at hand, replaying the video a few times before she switched to the other eye. “Did Melissa ever do your make up?” She pulled back to see what she had done so far, choosing another color.
“No. She hated the eye liner I wore. I taught myself that.” She laughed shortly before sadness took over. Rachel shook her head, looking down at herself. “She could barley touch me long enough to do that. She was.... very afraid of me. Always had been.”
Kory looked at her a moment before she went back to work. “She loved you.”
“I know she did. But you can still fear and love someone. Especially when I got mad. I remembered when I was 5, I really wanted this candy and she wouldn’t let me have it. I got so mad I made all the stuffed animals in the toy section explode. We never went back. In fact, I never really went to any store with her until I was older.” She felt her eyes become heavier with the products Kory was putting on.
“But.... she did what she could.” She finished, pushing her lips out. “I know I am not the easiest to love, but she did. It’s my fault what happened to her.”
Kory looked over as the lights started to flicker, turning back to the girl. “You aren’t hard to love. In fact, it is very easy to fall in love with you. And no, it wasn’t. Not at all.” She brought Rachel back to attention as she squeezed her chin. “What happened to your mother wasn’t your fault. You should not feel guilty for what others did. They wanted to get to you because of your father. You can’t blame yourself for the actions of others.” She said softly but sternly. “Melissa’s death was not your fault. OK?”
Rachel looked back into Kory’s eyes, nodding as the words washed over her. The lights returned to normal.
Kory pulled back, turning on the video. “Now, to cut the crease as the woman says.”

(Because if I put it in one whole post, it would be way too long)
What could happen if Rachel found Gar at Camdus and had to try to bring him back
——————————————————————————-
She ran through the corridors of Camdus, the sounds of fighting in the background. She slipped away before the guards could see her. He had to be here. She could feel his presence becoming closer. She hoped he was alright, that he was safe and not too.....
Suddenly stopping, she saw him through plexiglass. In a almost futuristic astronaut suit. He was looking off into space, not blinking. She drew in a breath; something didn’t seem right. She could feel it in her bones. But she pushed it aside; there was Gar and they needed to leave. She walked over to the door that led to the inside of the room. She placed her hands on the knob, sighing. Of course it was locked. Did she really expect a random door to be unlocked in this prison? She walked over to the window, looking in to gage how Gar was doing
She couldn’t read him. He didn’t... seem right. She tilted her head at him, biting the inside of her cheek. ‘I just really want to go in’, she thought to herself, slowly lifting her hand to touch the glass. As she placed her hand on the surface, she—- felt air? She looked over, shocked to see that her hand to her wrist was right through the surface. She looked over to her hand and back to Gar, taking her chance as she leaned in closer her leg able to step through as well. Then she leaned in all the way and found herself in the room with Gar. ‘That wasn’t something I knew I could do....’ she looked down at her hands, a short hum to herself. She decided to pursue her new ability later, turning her attention to Gar.
He was sitting at a small table, not even acknowledging she entered the space. She stepped over slowly, going to sit beside him in the opposite chair. “Gar?” She said softly, trying to look at him. She held her breath, lowering her head to try to grab his gaze.
Gar suddenly lifted his head up, causing Rachel to move back quickly. They were eye to eye, holding her breath. “Gar.... are you.... are you alright?” She leaned in and place a hand on his arm.
His eyes shot down, looking from his arm back to her gaze. She pulled her hand away quickly, her brows furrowing. “Gar, what’s wrong? It’s me, Rachel, don’t you remember?”
His eyes widened even more, his hands slamming onto the table. This caused her to jump back, standing as her chair knocked over. She started backwards, keeping her gaze on him. She didn’t know what was wrong, but she started to get a gut wrenching feeling. She needed to leave. This wasn’t right. Gar wasn’t..... right. But she needed to leave with him. She needed to take him home. Her heart rate started to increase as he kept his gaze at the table, his fists still balled.
A clicking sound rung in the air, the slow start of classical music. Rachel looked up at the celling, confused.
The slight sound of a growl was heard, slowly lowering her head to see Gar’s eyes become a forest green. Which then spread to his face to start contouring into a cat-like face.
“Gar.....?” Her voice shook, trying to control the shaking of her body. This... was not right.
The music started to become louder

I was planning on finishing this thread here, but then I got carried away, so here’s this
——————————————————————————
Before her eyes, Gar morphed into his tiger. The suit seemed to morph around his changed form. He broke the chair he was sitting in, a monsterious roar cracking the air. She covered her ears, stepping back further. What was wrong with him? She could see feral in his eyes; the typically sweet, goofy eyes of his tiger form lost.
Unable to control it, she felt her eyes water, her hands slowly moving down. “Gar.... what did they do to you?” She asked, the music pounding in her ears.
Gar growled lowly, his eyes narrowing at Rachel. She stepped back further, gasping in surprise when her back pressed against the wall. “Fuck.” She mumbled, not daring to move her eyes from him. She saw his hind legs lift almost in slow motion before she darted quickly to the right. The table smashed under the weight of his body, his head knocking against the wall.
She ran to the door, trying with no success to open it. “Fuck!” She screamed, the classical music muffling her yells. She looked over to see the tiger shake his head, a gruff roar sounding. She yanked on the knob until her palms turned bright red, the tapping of his heavy paws coming closer. She ran left just as he tried to corner her, going back to the plexiglass.
“I want out! Come on, do it again!” She sobbed, trying to active out her new found abilities again. She felt hot tears roll down her cheeks, burning from her eye liner. She rested her forehead against the glass. “Please, just let me get out.” She said softly, taking in a deep breath.
She felt hot breath on her neck, the hairs standing up. Her eyes darted open, not daring to move. She looked through the glass to see him no more than a foot away from her. She turned slowly, face to face with the tiger. “Please.... Gar, don’t. Please. I know you’re in there. This is not you. Please. I don’t want to hurt you.... Don’t hurt me.” She begged, hoping to get to him.
The tiger didn’t seem to understand and instead leapt towards her. She had nowhere else to go, so all she could do was lift her hands to at least prevent being totally mauled. She closed her eyes and prepared for the worst.
But
Nothing came. She could hear the tiger and the lazy music. And the rapid patting of her heart. She lifted her head up to see she was covered with a inky force field around her. The goo was coming from her finger tips, the tiger becoming frustrated as he kept jumping at it.
Of all the times....
She stood up, lowering her hands as the field dissolved. She watched the tiger growl, keeping a distance as he planned his next moves. She took a deep breath. “It’s not Gar...” she said, lifting her hands from her sides. “It’s not Gar....” she said as the tiger leaned back to pounce. “It’s not Gar.” She said again as the tiger leapt towards her. Her eyes glowed red as she threw her hand forward, her powers taking the tiger by the neck to keep him at bay.
The tiger roared in anger, trying to jump at her. She lifted her other hand as she felt herself slipping. No, now wasn’t the time for her to lose control. She wrapped another line of her power on him, the weight of the tiger heavy. She balled her hands into fists before she threw him in the opposite direction from her, his back hitting the wall. She gasped, her powers shrinking in.
As she gathered herself, a slight shadow daughter her attention. She looked over to see the opposite plexiglass window, her eyes furrowing. She could see the faint figure of a person, the main source of the music coming from that area. “The fuck....” she mumbled, seeing the tiger stand again. She let her powers come back out, wrapping around the tigers neck. She held tight until the tiger passed out, releasing when she felt him drift off. She looked back to the window, her eyes changing back to their normal form.
Her eyes narrowed. Her fists balled up, walking over to the window. She didn’t know what she was going to do, but she was going to figure out who this person was. The music became louder the closer she got to it, an edge in her step. She felt her anger built up, feeling red-hot emotion. Barley holding onto her grasp. Whoever this person was; a woman from what she gathered. She hurt Gar. She made him this way. She turned him into a monster, when he was far from it. She was willing to stand by and watch someone be mauled to death.
She had to pay
Before she could think, before she could stop to consider this may not work And may just knock herself out.... She stepped right through the plexiglass, face to face with a slightly surprised woman.

This gets a little more graphic and while it does not bother me, it may bother some people. So I’ve opted to let people know beforehand. And I apologize for not using the read more tab; it doesn’t seem to be working for me right now.
Again, I wanted to end it here, but I got carried away. So there will be another post
TW: blood; violence; death, mentions of hell
——————————————————————————
Mercy Graves stepped away slightly from the teenager, intrigued and cautious at the same time. Her arms were behind her back, her pose straight and business ready. “You must be Rachel. It’s nice to finally—“
“Fuck you.” She spat, her voice graveled. She kept her glare on the woman. To the point that Mercy had to finally look away. “What did you do to him?”
“Nothing that he didn’t want. You see, Garfield wasn’t being used to his full potential. And so our team—“
“You mean you brainwashed him.” She interrupted, tightening her fists. “You hurt him. That’s not Gar.”
“No, he’s better than Gar. He’s improved and his full power has been utilized. He is—“ Mercy was stopped short as she watched the stereo playing the classical music start to smoke. “Unmatchable... he’s....” she stepped back as she looked at Rachel. “He’s not just boy, but beast. He’s more than he’s been given credit for.” She winced as the stereo broke, the music ceasing. Mercy was almost agape as the stereo staggered onto the floor, pieces littering the ground. “What are you?”
“Let’s just say I am not all good news.” Rachel stepped closer to the woman, the plexiglass cracking slightly. Mercy watched not in fear, but in great interest. Another meta being. Mercy smiled a bit, lifting her head to the girl.“I can help you realize your full potential as well. We can help you.”
“Pass. I’ve already been fucked up by my father. And trust me, you may be an evil bitch. But you pale against actual evil.” She stepped closer to her, her eyes starting to become a blood red. “But, you’ll know soon enough. I can give you a one way ticket to him.” She tilted her head at the woman, the plexiglass shattering and created a hole.
Mercy finally showed enough fear to jump at the crack, her eyes shifting to her cell phone. She jumped over to grab it before she was suddenly thrown against the window. She gasped as the wind was knocked out of her, the phone slipping onto the floor. She scrambled to grab it, but was too late. Rachel picked it up, snapping it in half. She threw it behind her shoulder, leaning down to look at the woman. “We are only trying to help. To make the world a better place. We only want—“
“Stop fucking lying!” Rachel screamed at Mercy, unable to control her emotions anymore and kicked the woman straight into her nose. The woman cried out in pain, deep red pooling around her hand as she tried to stop it. She looked up at Rachel, slight fear in her eyes.
“You know, playing God is considered a moral sin. Punishable by an eternity in Hell. Burning flesh; your teeth pulled out one by one; your nails ripped from the roots.” She said nonchalantly. “But what you did..... what you did to Gar is beyond sin.” She released her hand, her goo rolling out and made it’s way to Mercy. She scooted away as best as she could, hitting her head against the corner of the wall. She gasped as it wrapped around her neck, trying to pull it away from her. “Unlike him, I don’t mind hurting those who deserve it.”
Rachel looked up at the woman as she lifted her, tsking. “I think this should be a lesson for you.” She tightened her grip around her neck, the woman coughing and gagging. She narrowed her eyes at the woman. “Don’t play with darkness.” She stepped closer to her, yanking her down to her level. “Because darkness will play right back.” She smirked a bit, turning as she lifted the woman up and slammed her against the plexiglass. She heard the cracking of bones, before she slammed her in again. She heard pleas for her to stop. Rachel started to feel guilt until she looked through the crack in the plexiglass and saw Gar’s limp body lying on the ground. She gritted her teeth, ignoring the cries as she slammed her in again. Then again, and again until she smelt iron and felt the rattling of death beneath her bones. She took in a deep breath, closing her eyes. She felt her heart race, not daring to turn around to see what she did. As her eyes opened, they returned to their normal color. She felt shaky, smoothing her shirt down. “Have fun with father, bitch.” She mumbled, smashing Mercy’s phone with her heel.
She found tears in her eyes, gasping in a breath. She felt tired from the anger and distress. She kneeled a bit, her hands on her knees. She looked down at the hard ground, standing back straight. She had to check on him. She needed to bring him home. Walking back through the hole she created, Rachel ran up to Gar. She kneeled beside him, placing her hands on his arm

Remember {4}
Finally done.
——————————————————————————
Gar laid on the ground, transformed back into his regular form. She moved her hands to push the hair from his face, trying to gather how he was doing. He didn’t seem hurt from the attack or dead; she could feel his heart beating.
Rachel looked down at him concerned, moving to sit on the cold ground. “Gar.... What did she do to you?” She moved her hand to the back of his head, feeling something sticky. She pulled her hand back, her eyes wide as dark red covered her hand. She gasped, turning him further onto his side to see a portion of his skull was cut and attempts were made to piece it back to gather. “What the fuck did she do.” She cried to herself, frantically pulling his hair to see the damage. “Fucking bitch.” She whispered to herself, feeling her anger rise. She sighed, shaking her head to calm herself. Her eyes started to return to their normal shade.
“I don’t know....” she said to herself, looking around. She didn’t know what to do. She was alone; everyone else was split. Either fighting Deathstroke or Camdus to get Connor out. Either way, she didn’t trust they would be much help. She slumped into herself, looking back down at him. “What do I do.” She rested her hands on his side, thinking. She thought back to when Trigon came to this world. He has abilities to help those who were hurt. She looked down at Gar, pushing her lips out. “Maybe I can do that too.” She said out loud to herself, moving closer to Gar. She moved her hands to his head, taking a deep breath. She looked her eyes, focusing on his wound.
The sounds of drilling and classical music played, a burning sensation felt at the back of her head. She winced, but kept her focus on the wound. She took in a deep breath, feeling adrenaline pumping through her veins. Fear, loneliness, anger. The roaring of a tiger and the sound of running. Then—-
Nothing
She sighed, moving her hands away. She opened her eyes, prepared to be defeated. Until she realized....
Blue skies and sun came into view. Long, Technicolor fields in front of her. Yellow brick road laid miles and miles ahead. Sweet as candy air and birds singing. She was dumbstruck, looking around the surroundings. This... this was not Camdus. What— where— how did she get here? She heard humming, spotting a little green haired dot in the fields. She climbed over a fence, seeing Gar stretched out in the flowers.
“Gar?” She asked, her brows furrowed
He opened his eyes, a wide smile on his face. “Hey Rach.” His arms were behind his head, motioning for her to lay beside him. “Glad you could make it. Isn’t it peaceful here?”
“Where is here?” She asked, sitting down beside him.
“Kansas, silly. What does it look like? Have you never see The Wizard of Oz? Judy Garland? It’s a classic!”
She looked around still stuck, her mouth agape. “But.... Camdus.... we... you...” she thought for a moment, realizing what she must’ve done. ‘I’m in his head’
“Hmmmm?” He looked back over at her, one eye opened. “What are you mumbling over there?”
“Gar.... this.... isn’t real.” She said softly, moving closer
“What do you mean? Do you not see the flowers? Smell them! And the sky. I don’t think we’ve seen the sky like this ever!”
Rachel smiled sadly, looking down at him. “Gar, you and I, we are at Camdus right now. That woman... she hurt you. She did experiments on you to make you hurt people. Brainwash you. Don’t you remember?”
“What are you talking about? I was enjoying Wizard of Oz and I woke up at Titans Tower.” He shrugged. “And then I was playing video games and you came in and.....” he stopped short, looking over at her. His face fell, sitting up a bit. “You. I— you were screaming. Telling me to stop and then I heard nothing. And I woke up and— you weren’t moving. Your face—- blood everywhere— I tried to wake you up, but— your eyes wouldn’t open.” He looked at her shocked, wincing as he touched the back of his head. “And I woke up here.”
“Gar.” She felt her eyes water, but held it back. “Gar. You didn’t hurt me. That woman, she made you think that. I am here. I haven’t seen you in a few days. This isn’t reality, Gar. You built this because of what happened to you. To help you with what you went through. I’m so sorry she hurt you.” She placed her hand on his.
“No. No. You’re tricking me!” He stood up, looking down at her. “You’re not real! You’re just another allusion made by Mercy!” He held the back of his head, groaning. “Screw you! You could’ve cut my hand off! You couldn’t bring it back in. No! You’re not real!” He shook his head, stomping around the flowers. “I was suppose to be something better! She said I failed! That I was a monster!”
Rachel stood up as well, trying to pull him in. “Gar, Gar, listen to me. Please, just close your eyes and count to three slowly.” She said, her arms around his waist. “Think— think of home. And there’s no other place you rather be.” She wiped her tears away so he wouldn’t see them.
“Think of home... think of home.” He said softly, his eyes closed. He kept his hands on his head, breathing slowly. “1.............. 2.................

He opened his eyes, his vision blurry. He groaned from the pain, his back against the wall. He looked around as he tried to gage where he was, feeling hands in his hair. He looked up. “Rachel?”
She looked back down at him, smiling. She nodded, pulling her hands away. They were covered in blood, but she could see his skull slowly moving back into place by her touch. “Yes.”
He sat up, his hand moving to his head. It was dry. The bandages gone and his head smooth. He looked around, unsure what happened. “Rachel... tell me you’re real. I—“ he felt his eyes tear up, looking at her. “I killed you. My tiger killed you. I watched you—“
“No, you didn’t. Mercy made you believe you did. She did a lot of things to you. And I’m sorry you had to suffer. I am so sorry. I wish I could’ve been there to help you. You shouldn’t have been alone.”
“Don’t blame yourself. She said a lot of empty promises. She said it would make me better, but...”
“It’s alright. You don’t have to repeat what you saw.” Sadly, she saw what he did and felt what happened to him. She felt his pain on her fingertips.
“Just promise me, Rach. Promise me you won’t leave again?”
She choked softly to herself, nodding as she felt her chest ache. Not trusting her words, she nodded again, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. “I won’t.” She got out. “It was a mistake. But I was—“
“It’s alright.” He repeated, smiling at her. “You didn’t have a choice. I understand. You— left because you needed freedom. I don’t blame you.”
She kept her gaze on him, before she leaned in and pulled him into a tight hug. She sighed in content, closing her eyes. “The next time I leave, it’s because we leave together. OK?”
He wrapped his arms around her waist, smiling at the contact. “Ditto.” He squeezed her tightly, glad to be close to someone familiar. He remembered where they were, pulling back suddenly. “Mercy. She could be close by....”
“It’s OK. She’s taken care of.” She assured him, standing up. She wiped her hands on the back of his suit, sniffing as she gathered herself. “Let’s get out of here.”
“What?” He looked around, seeing the broken plexiglass. “The door is locked.”
“I found a new ability.” She said, grabbing his hand as she walked over to the window. She touched the window, groaning as it didn’t work. “Well, I don’t know how to do it on command, but I will.” She let go of his hand, running back over to Mercy’s body. She grabbed a set of keys, running back to Gar
“Where did you get those?” He said as they walked to the door.
“Mercy.” She said as she searched for the key
“What?”
“I’ll explain on our way back to Nightwing and the others.” She put the key in, the key clicking as the door opened
“Who?” He was bewildered. “How long was I gone?”
“I’ll catch you up.” She said, grabbing his hand. “I was confused at first too. And just for the record, don’t laugh at the suit. I almost did and Kory got mad.” She said as she pulled Gar down the corridor.
