I'm starting to remember it now, how it was when we first met.
I was a white clover, sitting alone, but not lonely.
You were lonely and found solace in my glowing presence, mesmerized by my misunderstood nature.
Intrigued by my knowledge of knowing that I wasn't much.
You saw me and decided to keep me.
Watering me each day, taking advantage of my hope, making me believe I was becoming more as time went on.
But one day ,
I'd noticed that I was actually dying.
I watched the darkness in your eyes, as you revealed the disgust of me that had been lurking within you the whole time.
When had you stopped watering me with love?
Had you ever started?
How could I not see this coming?
This whole time I had been wilting.
My petals being removed by the day.
Pesticides...
