I love that this wasn't Jeremy's book, it was Jean's in every way, but we got just enough of a glimpse into Jeremy's home life to see that something is Not Right. Can't wait to see what tsc 2 will reveal

i know it isn't canon yet as of the sunshine court's release but i still stand by my headcanon that jeremy draws a little < next to the 3 on jean's cheek to make a <3

I just finished tsc and I loved it. I loved it. The dual pov, the healthy love for a sport juxtaposed with obsession because you don't know how to exist without it. Learning to live with new people in your life who refuse to let you die. I think the story of Jean's aftermath is a story so incredibly important to tell because his coping mechanism for the longest time was forcing himself to accept that he deserved every bit of abuse, because how else is he supposed to endure? But then Jeremy and his golden friends come along and drag him kicking and screaming towards survival, and then Neil shows up and Jean finds out about his sister and thinks, she was only a child, and how could they not love her, and finally, finally, how could they not love me?

It's a 'I deserve this, I will endure because I have no other choice' to a, 'why did it have to be us, how long must I endure' that's so heartbreaking and so important to abuse trauma recovery that I'm really glad Nora came back to write this story for us. Healing journey's are just as important as the past events and final destinations.

The noise I made when I realised I was on the final page though? I wanted this book to never end, I want to see Jean healing now that he's accepted the awfulness of what he's been through

(Also, finding out there's no nets on the goals? How tf did Neil forget to mention that?? Like, Hello???)
