hi! i know this is referencing a post from a long long time ago, but i plan on making facial hair for female sims too. i'm making a fantasy save and i want to have my female dwarves have beards too! do you think it'd be best for me to make them categorized as face paint, skin detail, tattoo or an accessory? regardless of whether or not you have a suggestion, i hope you're well! [:
Hey!! That sounds so cool! The category would depend on whether you’re making 2D ie just a texture on the sim’s skin or if you want to make 3D beards so an actual mesh. With 3D i don’t really know how you would approach that unfortunately but it would then be in one of the accessory categories, like maybe the glasses category? If you’re just making a 2D texture then i definitely recommend skin detail because it will always show up for every outfit/situation, or tattoo will do the same thing. Face paint means you can take it off for specific outfits and if the game generates like a random situation outfit for the sim it could take off their makeup so the beard would disappear. So i would recommend skin details!

The way i just.... Guessed a mod conflict. Like a mod i had installed wasnt working and i just guessed on the first try which of the other mods in my 27GB mods folder was messing with it. Deleted one (1) mod and now it works. No 50/50 no googling nothing. I am a sims god

A 1920′s set recoloured in Noodles Sorbet Remix
There are 16 items recoloured, along with 3 overlays. All made by the wonderful and amazing @javitrulovesims , @happylifesims, @retro-pixels, @simsfromthepast and @thesimsis4gays .
You will need the meshes for all items (mesh links under the cut)
The clothes and accessories all are in Sorbet Remix and they have 76 swatches.
The Sims is 4 Gays’ Lady Mary hair is in Sorbet Remix and Elders Remix.
Retro Pixel’s Stenographer comes in 5 versions and has a Collar and Belt overlay found in “Left Ring”.
Retro Pixel’s Flapper comes in 3 versions.
Happy Life Sims’ Lizzie Hat has a ribbon overlay found in “brow left” and Lizzie Coat has a collar and sleeve overlay found in “tights”.

LADY MARY - a 1920s inspired hair
my first ever attempt at creating a hair, inspired by mary’s hair in the downton abbey movie. ideal for your flappers and your silent film stars!
teen-elder, feminine frame
should be base game compatible, although i used meshes from dine out and vampires. if someone who doesn’t have those packs could try it and set my mind at ease about this i would greatly appreciate it :-)
hat chops for all your cloche hat needs !! not the cleanest looking but they work!

known issues:
- one of the front bits of hair has some holes and general messiness when viewed from this specific angle, i decided to give up on it for my personal wellbeing, once again something i may fix in the future :’)
- some general lumpiness is present in the mesh, especially in the hat chops, but it doesnt look that bad imo! got a little overenthusiastic with sculpt mode in blender. hopefully ill improve with practice!

preview of my first hair meshing attempt!! (and trust me these are b&w and heavily filtered for a reason) noticed so many issues when opening it in game but was also so stoked with how its looking so far that i may actually finish it. and yeah, the reason it exists is because i saw the downton abbey movie in theatres for the third time last night, andwhataboutit.gif

Understand It now#btw my fave part of this hairstyle on mary is the back mullet part and i used the back from the spikey vampires hair and its just#*chefs kiss*#also this one hair from dine out is ugly as fuck on its own but it has given us So Much.......

there’s a severe lack of big fancy art museums in the sims 4, so i built one. this build was inspired both inside and out by many museums i’ve visited in real life. it is beautifully located on the 64x64 lot in Brindleton Bay where it makes for a stunning silhouette against the cloudy sky.
features:
- basement: restrooms and cloakroom.
- ground floor: exhibition space, information desk, café, gift shop (currently closed for repairs), art space for children.
- 1st floor: modern and classical sculpture.
- 2nd floor: photography, modern and classical art.
- 3rd floor: studio space for guests, reading space and restrooms.
the museum also boasts a romantic sculpture garden overlooking the sea, making it a popular spot for weddings.

- technically all EPs, however the majority of this was built before Island Living came out so that’s only used a little bit in the landscaping and you won’t really miss anything if you don’t have it.
- Jungle Adventure, Vampires, and Dine Out (dine out only used for a few things in the café so should be fine without it, the first two packs however are used a lot in the build). Realm of Magic ONLY used in the “Art of Film” version of the build.
- Laundry Day Stuff, Toddler Stuff, Romantic Garden, Movie Hangout Stuff + Holiday Celebration (honestly don’t know how much i used all these. romantic garden is definitely used the most. build should be fine if you are missing one or two of the others)
this build is CC FREE but it shows up as modded on the gallery due to reasons. if downloading from the gallery, click “Include custom content” to find it.
if you want to spruce up the museum and make it way more fun than the CC-free version, i highly recommend downloading the great art series by @femmeonamissionsims as well as the incredible museum gift shop set by @aroundthesims. I guess if you wanted to, you could open the gift shop and run the lot as a retail store? maybe? i really have never run a retail store in the sims so i couldn’t tell you.
the build comes in two versions, with the difference being the exhibition on the ground floor. in version 1, the exhibition is called Ancient Selvadoradian Art, which is pretty self-explanatory. in version 2, the exhibition is The Art of Film and features everything from costumes to props to posters, celebrating the art that goes into filmmaking. other than that the builds are identical so you can download both and simply replace the lot when you want to change the exhibition. I will likely do more exhibitions in future and if I do i’ll upload more versions to the gallery.
