@stilljustrandom river yelps out an “ow!”, and holds their ears away from the baby. “that’s a big nono! that hurts, we don’t do that,” river hmphs at the baby, holding a grudge for about three seconds before they reluctantly hold out a finger for the baby to grab instead of their ears. ———————————————————————— The Baby Lets go of both River and Soapy’s ears, not too upset about it since he is given River’s finger, distracting by it instead.

It seems to do the trick. though still, you wait in bated breath, worried they will begin crying again.... just as the last attempts to calm them had ended up.

A few moments pass, But the baby is still calm. What a relief. The baby found the pacifier different to the lollipop they had been sucking on previously, the object not sweet in any way, but they don't seem to mind. They are content with the pacifier, just staring up to both Soapy and River.

Oh! It seems the baby is curious about their pointy ears. They stare for a moment more before reaching up and-

River gasps offendedly from where they had been watching that the baby is upset, especially because it's loud and they are NOT a fan. With false confidence they grab the baby, "you're doing it wrong," they huff childishly, and then begin to play with the babies hands like they had previously liked.

It takes the Baby a moment, but he DOES calm down. He lets out small sniffles as he watches the movements of both their and River's hand.
