Kazuha is usually calm, yet we've seen him being capable of getting really angry and I feel like if he were to ever meet Wanderer he'd definitely snap for one reason or another

my original thought process was - while he accepted what happened to his clan, confronting the cause (/learning the full truth) could stir up previously abandoned feelings Kazuha assumed he already moved past - without Wanderer I don't believe he's reached that peace yet

I know Kazuha is willing to forgive but in Irodori he stated if the person responsible is still making trouble he won't turn a blind eye -> taking action meanwhile Wanderer did say he'd take even a blade to his chest as he feels it should've ended that way long ago

which could lead to clashing feelings as Kazuha wouldn't seek revenge yet Wanderer would be passive, expecting it Kazuha's ideals, his clan, the whole mentality of wanting the revenge to take place by Wanderer, mixed in with what went down in Sumeru recently -> it's messy

and despite provoking people, Wanderer is finally trying to live on his own terms so the self sabotage/reluctance to fully move past as he still wants to be punished is definitely challenging Kazuha who wants to live in the present - as who's he to take his present away?

I could see Kazuha getting angry both at Wanderer being stuck and wanting something to end him when his second chance is right here and he's proving himself people even care for him now my dialouge reflects this anger though I feel like there's many other ways this could go

anyway just explaining the thought behind the art BUT I admit, I do have trouble predicting/portraying Kazuha's reactions, so if I said something really inaccurate then treat this as a fun alternative? these two are complicated but I hope I did okayish at the very least

while I get your disappointment, anon, I didn't expect one either as Genshin has never done anything like that before and they certainly wouldn't do something without announcing it first, especially a quest (I know it's not big but Hoyolab actually had a 3 day event where you could get a comment decoration and an avatar frame for participating? it's a bit more than nothing but eh, we'll get those for every character eventually) in general yeah, I agree, Benny is neglected a lot and people hyping themselves up by thinking he'll have some role in Natlan? yeah, no, don't expect that the most we'll get is an event for a skin with some lore, but looking at how Xingqiu's skin got treated I wouldn't even hope for that? so yeah I am saddened by this too

first things first, I am so sorry I promise I love Bennett T^T

I just wanted to show what we won't ever see in game; the thoughts after the years of constantly being blamed and then internalizing how everything goes wrong around him so he's better when he's not around

I can see him trying to be positive but there are still moments where dark thoughts creep in, but there are also those who cherish and love him and on bad days I could see him needing a reminder

and who's better than the adventurer who found him? HE was his literal treasure

so yeah this is an angsty interpretation of how Bennett could view his existence, obviously a bit more exaggerated

there was an extra page to this but it felt right to leave it here, just him and the old adventurer who saw a life worth saving

wasn't sure if I should post this, I both like the simplicity I managed to achieve but feels lacking too, oh well

when we didn't know much of Mika I kinda hoped he'd clash with Bennett a bit since we know how his bad luck can affect relationships (ex-team members) so I was awaiting a playable character who wasn't as forgiving with him? no, I don't hate Mika or want him to be a bully towards Bennett I just wanted to lean into how I originally imagined him with how he's more experienced and mature due to being away with Varka causing him to turn into a bit of a smartass? it just seems like a fun dynamic especially if we add some history with Mika and Bennett being good friends as kids but while Mika succeeds Bennett fails and adapts -> they grow apart especially since Mika goes away? Aaa I could do so much with this AU
