Letters
Twenty-six to choose,
But only one sits apart,
For it is U who has my heart,
In all of loves different hues,
Us, together, a pair,
Two letters bonded,
Our hearts absconded,
Eloped together in love so fair,
Joy is sometimes fleeting,
Three letters that together,
Seem to last forever,
Never stopping since our meeting,
Love is a heavy word,
Four letters that define,
This feeling so divine
Unique and absurd,
Bliss is so easy to find
Five letters in the haze
Of this dreamy daze
That holds my heart and clouds my mind
Starry is an adjective
Six letters that describe
The looks from her eyes
That have kept me captive
Fannely is a beautiful name
Seven letters of perfection
That continuously earn my affection
And put the rest to shame
Gorgeous is an apt description
Eight letters detailing
A beauty so enthralling
They require this inscription

River
I'm lying in the shadows of a long lost moon,
Listening to the river singing her tune,
The river's never angry she's only here to soothe,
As I ponder the choices of a wasted youth,
She calls to me gently in the rustling wind,
I listen to her whispers, I tell her my sins,
Some pills are hard to swallow,
Some pains never die,
In misery I wallow,
Under blackened skies,
My eyes search the backs of my eyelids,
Looking for the horrors within somewhere hid,
I feel the anger rising as the pain persists,
I start to grind my teeth and I clench my fists,
The river calls to me gently in the rustling wind,
I listen to her whispers, I tell her my sins,
Some journeys never end,
Some adventures never cease,
My tears dissappear around the bend,
As my sobs are lost amongst the trees.

Navigator
If anyone ever asks if you have a job,
You should always have but one answer,
For you are a navigator,
An explorer,
An adventurer embarked on the greatest journey
The world has ever known,
No other undertaking shall ever compare,
Or be of less importance,
And no other person, adventurer, navigator, explorer,
No matter how great or accomplished,
Can navigate this journey better than you,
No one can travel this road at a faster pace,
Because this is your journey,
Your race,
And if anyone ever asks of you have a job,
The answer you give,
Is that you're a navigator,
Managing an adventure that no one else can,
For no one else,
Can live your life.

Doubt
I am filled with doubt,
It plagues my mind,
Like a crippling drought,
So voracious in it's hunger,
To be nurtured and cultivated,
That I starve,
I famish,
I yearn for something to fill me,
To the point that I'm captivated,
By a need so great,
I'd do anything to fill myself to the brim,
With anything other than these,
Thoughts that leave me,
Full but empty,
All at the same time,
Until my outlook is so grim,
That with a thunder,
A crescendo of panicked pain,
That fills the brain,
I drown in a flood,
In a sea of crippling lies,
And I burst at the seams,
Spilling out hopes,
And shattered dreams,
Because when it rains it pours,
And the current roars,
As I'm swept up,
And carried away,
In a river of doubt,
Of my own creation,
That turns this drought,
Into a field of mud,
A landslide sweeping across,
The landscape of my life,
Destroying everything in it's path,
Till there's nothing left,
To feel it's wrath,
But a wasteland,
More barren than before,
And I begin to starve,
And I famish,
And I hunger,
And I begin to doubt.

The Lonely Clown
Now hear the struggles of the lonely clown,
His tired life,
His heavy frown,
He lives in a house of broken doors,
With a leaky roof,
And creaky floors,
And there is no movement on his street,
No blinking lights,
No weary feet,
But still he watches through the window panes,
The falling snow,
And the pouring rain,
And as he stares his mind does wonder,
Where he failed,
Or if he blundered,
For in this world that is so cruel,
There is one law,
One lonely rule,
To always strive to do your best,
To survive,
And pass the test,
But on this day this clown did know,
That this was it,
His final show,
So with one last laugh he said goodbye,
With one final click,
With one last sigh.

What Tomorrow Brings
The future memories of a crystal ball still only tell the past,
And even on the blackest night there's still light to see your feet,
Every endless cycle had a start and what has a start will find it's end,
Don't get stuck in the meaningless bustle of a one way busy street,
Even a turtle who carries his home still bravely leaves its shell,
Even the chicken who can't fly still defiantly spreads its wings,
Stop trying to fight the raging current when it can carry you home,
Stop worrying about the past and look forward to what tomorrow brings,
Beginnings have ends and ends have beginnings,
Be brave and strong and laugh and cry and stay true to your soul,
If you are quiet and listen close, you can hear it's gentle singing.

It's Ok
It's ok to be happy,
It's ok to be sad,
It's ok to be cranky,
It's ok to be mad,
But never forget,
The words that I say,
When I'm holding you,
At the end of the day,
Words of love,
Words of hope,
Words to carry you,
Up the steepest slope,
My dearest love,
You have my heart,
You'll have it till the end,
You had it from the start.

Her
Your eyes are brown like mud,
A dark rich earthy shade,
I hope this explains why,
I always seem to get stuck in them,
Your hair with curls of ebony,
Cascading down your back,
Snagging my fingers,
Like Venus fly traps,
Your wit is sharp smart and pointy,
To the point that,
The words you say stick with me,
Your touch lingers on my skin,
Raising goosebumps,
Like the gentle touch,
Of ghostly shivers,
When I hear your heart,
Beating deep in your chest,
It reminds me,
That even at my best,
I can be better,
For you, for us, forever.

Through The Glass
Outside these glass panels,
I see wonders I do not hold.
Paths adorned by ochre leaves,
Leading away to castles of gold.
And there the flowers don’t wither,
They stand the test of cold.
There the laughs don’t die out,
They echo forever more.
And I watch the sky transform its shade,
An infinite spectrum between night and day.
I try to capture these sundry rays,
But through my window they don’t remain the same.
But sometimes I find from the other side,
A face hiding a glance through to me.
And in the moment when I catch his eyes,
I am reminded once again,
The window is just a frame,
On either side the longing is the same.

The Otherside
Do you ever stare off and wonder,
What's on the otherside,
Of the river you can't cross,
And the mirror you can't enter?
Where do dreams go in the light of the morning sun?
These are the questions that I ponder,
As the days come and go,
And as I sit in silence,
As time passes ever by,
The opportunities to find the truth,
Disappear over the horizon of a wasted youth,
So I urge you don't sit and wonder,
Or continue to mull and ponder,
Go forth and live your life,
Live your dreams in the light of the morning sun,
Be the you staring back in the mirror,
Take a trip to the otherside,
If you don't the questions are all you've asked,
And the answers you'll never have.

This Girl
This girl, this girl,
This girl, you see,
A shining pearl,
In a murky sea,
A face so fair,
A face so fine,
With blackened hair,
And lips like wine,
With eyes that dance,
With eyes that shine,
I've been entranced,
Frozen in time,
So full of fire,
So full of spice,
I feel so inspired,
I'll say it twice,
This girl, this girl,
This girl you see,
A shining pearl,
In a murky sea,
My head is clouded,
With thoughts of her,
My heart is crowded,
With a joy so pure,
Am I going crazy?
Am I going mad?
She's so amazing,
I've got it bad,
She makes me laugh,
It's no pretense,
When you do the math,
It makes so much sense,
A lady, a kitten,
A libra, a lime,
I'm completely smitten,
With this girl of mine

Confusing
Love is a confusing emotion,
It brings you to tears,
When there is no sorrow,
It drowns you in laughter,
That nobody else feels,
As you whisper words,
That you've never heard,
Into the ear of a heart,
That wishes it was yours,
Rain could fall,
From dark clouds,
That shine bright,
On a day where nothing,
Can bring you down,
As you bask in the light,
And the warmth,
Of this emotion,
That confuses the heart,
And clouds the thoughts,
Till nothing makes sense,
Except the whispered words,
That speak to your heart,
And make it wish,
It belonged,
To someone else.

A Journey of a Thousand Miles
Peace and happiness exist, through a hole in time,
While pain and darkness, are what consume my mind,
Stranded on this island, shrouded in mist,
Searching for the way back, to a land of bliss,
There's no way out, once the clouds come to stay,
They blacken the sky, and create night from day,
A journey of a thousand miles, my legs give out after two,
The will to persevere is gone, along with my shoes.

Breathless
Every night and every minute, of every hour of every day,
You got me feeling breathless,
All it takes is a simple look from chocolate eyes,
To leave me feeling breathless,
Every touch of every finger and every kiss from your lips,
Has got me feeling breathless,
A gentle whisper in the darkest hour of a moonlit night,
Is all it takes,
To leave me feeling breathless.

Life is a Slaver
Life is a slaver, but I will be free,
I am a rebel, I won’t take a knee,
Life is a nightmare, in the dark of night,
This is a dream, wake up, see the light,
Life is a nightmare, in my memory,
One to be banished, my thoughts belong to me,

The Things That Should Not Be
Relentless wants
Relentless needs
Bringing you to your knees
In the dark
Where you can’t see
There live the things that should not be
Meaningless words
Meaningless lies
Conceal the world from your eyes
In the dark
Where you can’t see
There live the things that should not be
Through endless nights
Through endless days
Struggling on through the haze
In the dark
Where you can’t see
There live the things that should not be
