“would you like me to seduce you?”
the graduate is another one of my favorite movies (i know, how original). it’s just perfect in my opinion, and easily one of the best endings to a movie of all time

“you had a beautiful friendship. Maybe more than a friendship. And I envy you. In my place, most parents would hope the whole thing goes away, to pray that their sons land on their feet. But I am not such a parent. In your place, if there is pain, nurse it. And if there is a flame, don't snuff it out. Don't be brutal with it. We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster, that we go bankrupt by the age of thirty and have less to offer each time we start with someone new. But to make yourself feel nothing so as not to feel anything - what a waste!”

i recently rewatched cmbyn for the first time in years. i loved it when it came out, and i’m not ignoring/ glamorizing elio and oliver’s relationship. but, it is undoubtedly one of the most heartbreaking stories ever written. the quote above is michael stuhlbargs monologue, and he did a wonderful job. this quote always makes me cry as someone who has gone through something similar to what elio did.
also- thanks for the interactions on my last post :))) it made me rlly happy !

“women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. and they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. i’m so sick of people saying that love is all a woman’s fit for” ~louisa may alcott
i love little women. in my opinion, the story is the perfect example of girlhood, womanhood, and the unspoken bond between every woman. it’s truly so beautiful. greta gerwig did a fantastic job at conveying this feeling of femininity into the 2019 movie <3
