batfam hand hcs! ramblings about their scars below,,
Bruce-
when he started out he tried REALLY hard to keep his hands unscarred, but it was unavoidable. Brucie is a known thrillseeker to explain the scars away.
Dick-
his hands are deceptively strong, for how slight they are. unseen HELLA callouses. most of his scars are on his palms.
Jason-
jason's love of explosions and rushing in means he has a lot of scars. some of the burn scars are from cooking. regularly has bruised nails
Tim-
he has the least scars by virtue of his fighting style and regularly fighting the least amount of time out of the family. his middle finger is bent at the top, from an inherited family quirk.
Damian-
a lot of his scars are from training with the league of assassins :( lashes on the knuckles was a common punishment. he has some animal bites littered in there, but he doesn't blame the animals. (and i mispelled his name SHIT)
Alfred-
he doesn't fight, but he was in the army, and has scars from that, although they've faded with age.

Look, if you're into comics and your library has one of these services, that's where I would go first. Hoopla has a WEALTH of comics and you can support your library's services while also reading them, and it's cheaper than buying and safer than pirating.
"Don't use Libby because it costs libraries too much, pirate instead" is such a weird, anti-patron, anti-author take that somehow manages to also be anti-library, in my professional librarian-ass opinion.
It's well documented that pirating books negatively affects authors directly* in a way that pirating movies or TV shows doesn't affect actors or writers, so I will likely always be anti-book piracy unless there's absolutely, positively no other option (i.e. the book simply doesn't exist outside of online archives at all, or in a particular language).
Also, yeah, Libby and Hoopla licenses are really expensive, but libraries buy them SO THAT PATRONS CAN USE THEM. If you're gonna be pissed at anybody about this shitty state of affairs, be pissed at publishing companies and continue to use Libby or Hoopla at your library so we can continue to justify having it to our funding bodies.
One of the best ways to support your library having services you like is to USE THOSE SERVICES. Yes, even if they are expensive.

okay so there were a ton of posts/fics about the hilarious "fuck/maryy/kill" Bruce Wayne & Justice League scenario (I read them all, amazing comedic timing y'all) but to me, the most hilarious scenario is the JL play fuck/marry/kill, Bruce's name comes up, and half of the people in the room in the know immediately turn bright red and refuse to keep playing and no one will explain why.
Hal: "...and I would fuck Bruce Wayne. No, I would kill him. Nah, actually I'd fuck him, who am I kidding."
Clark: choking on his coffee and rapidly turning an alarming shade of red
Diana: "An....interesting choice, of course."
J'onn: "Shall we play a different game?"
Hal: "Wait, what? that was the game, wasn't it?"
Ollie: "I'm with Hal, I'd fuck the shit out of Bruce. He's the easiest guy I know, it's not like it'll exactly be a hardship for him."
*every single person in the room turns to Batman, standing in the corner*
Clark: "Wow! I think I just heard someone drop an ice cream cone in Guatemala. Batman, I'll need a team up."
Ollie: "For ice cream?"
Diana, standing up and putting herself in between Bruce and Hal: "This sounds dire. I will also assist."
Clark, under his breath, one hand on Bruce's back: "It's not worth it. He's not worth it. Come on. Walk it off."

OMG the image of Wally like cuddling around Dick and purring when he gets hurt dear GOD. Oh and now I'm also picturing Wally and the kids all curled up around him in the big bed when Linda gets home and she just smiles softly at the image of her kids and her boys.
I absolutely think the Flashfam can do the cat thing and like…. lie on top of their loved ones and purr to accelerate their healing btw. We already know that being a speedster’s lightning rod gives longevity, so really healing broken bones under a week with a nice cuddle isn’t a stretch.

tbh I think something about Barry that’s overlooked in fandom is how afraid he is of being alone, and how all of the other speedsters have their powers because of that deep rooted desire for companionship that reaches through time and space and reaches out and makes contact, makes a connection that sits somewhere between the soul and the space between atoms.
