Okay.... Let's analyze what happened in dcmk these last few weeks. Obvious SPOLIERS will be commented so you know.
Tumblr media
> Appearance of Aoko's mother in Magic Kaito.
Where was she all this time? Why did she never appear or even show a sign of life? She didn't even call her daughter on her birthday... She appears so oblivious to everything, she didn't even know who Kaitou Kid was since her husband has always been obsessed with trying to catch this thief for YEARS. It seems like Gosho just randomly placed her in the story without trying to connect with the canon, it's almost as if she was a character outside of her original manga.
> Film 27 and its breaks in logic and common sense.
After all these years, Gosho decided to go against everything he had already said and made the Kaishin to be cousins, not only ruining a unique relationship (whether you shipped or not) but also bringing plot holes and contradictions in the story. If they are cousins what's the excuse for them never trying to even interact before? Why was it that when Yukiko first met Kaito, she never acted like she was related to her? The same with Toichi, she always talked about him as just her teacher and NOTHING more than that, it doesn't make sense to put that in the story now. Why did Kaito never even have support from his family? Not even showing up at Toichi's symbolic funeral? How come Yusaku never went to talk to his late brother's family, even if he knew the truth KAITO DIDN'T KNOW...
No one even considered his feelings...
> All the bullshit involving Kaishin.
The biggest problem for me about them being cousins is not just because of the ship but because of all the history and construction they had. It's as if everything that's different about them is summed up in the simple fact that they're related. But Kaishin has always had something unique, something that Gosho himself defined as "a mysterious bond". Them not having the slightest type of relationship made everything so unique, a connection that only the two of them could have together, one would easily understand the other even though they were complete strangers. Now I feel like they want to throw that away.
> TOICHI KUROBA AND MY HATE FOR HIM.
Gosho had already said that Toichi was possibly alive but the confirmation brought me a wave of anger and contempt that I had never felt for any other dcmk character (even bo). Let's think about Kaito in this whole story:
• lost his father when he was just a child and is still traumatized by it today.
• for 8 FUCKING YEARS he discovers that his father's death was never an accident but a murder.
• His father was actually an internationally wanted thief who was after a precious stone capable of bringing immortality.
• he steps into his father's shoes as KID and decides to try to find out for himself what happened to his father, who killed him and why.
• now there is a criminal organization that thinks he is the KID who didn't really die and they are trying to kill him once and for all.
• he decides to put himself at risk looking for Pandora, being something belonging to the organization and the police themselves.
• a lot of people hate him, regardless of whether he hurts people or not.
• more and more he becomes more and more removed from everything and becomes burdened with the KID charade.
• his own mother doesn't care about him, on the contrary, it seems like she likes to make things even more difficult for her son (she disguised herself as her dead ex-husband just to screw with her son's head, that's sickening to say the least).
• everything Kaito does is because of his father's murder, he never wanted to be KID, he never liked stealing, he doesn't do any of that for pleasure (except when it involves a certain mini detective but that's not the focus now ).
• and in the end his father was ALIVE all this time, doing who knows what while his son was risking his life because of him... BRO...
This whole thing is insane. And not in a good way.

Kudo Yukiko Headcanons
the first few headcanons are from my post on my incorrect dcmk quotes twitter account so check that out if you want
She's half japanese and half white.
Her hair is all natural, since her eyebrows are also the same color as her hair, even in the flashback from high school so unless she's been dying her eyebrows for 20 or so years...yeah she's got natural reddish-brown hair.
It's not like she was adopted or moved to Japan because her birth name, Fujimine Yukiko, is still completely in Japanese. There are two different reasons for way he name cold be this way. Either she's a bastard/unwanted child of a white man so she adopts her mother's last name or she's got a japanese father and a white mother and she just uses her father's last name like most people.
Yukiko being half white with what seems to be canonically some euro-centric features would have helped her career boost a bunch on the international level. It's fucked up but people of color, especially asians, have a very hard time entering the international acting scene. Detective Conan tells us she's picked up awards from all around the globe and she's got connections throughout Hollywood and Broadway.
Her success in the United States would be easier for the western media to stomach if she had a white parent and could speak English. Unless Detective Conan suddenly doesn't have xenophobia and racism, she would have faced hurdles.
She bonds with Ai about the discrimination they face because of how they look both in Japan and in the US.
Shinichi used to demand Yukiko to read him the original Sherlock Holmes books written by Arthur Conan Doyle in English as bedtime stories, which she did
Yukiko was a child actor.
Now I know canon says that she debuted at 18 but that really does not make any sense what so ever for her to get like every single godamn award at that age. I think that she started out as a small time child actor in Japan but then her talent catapulted her into national fame by the time she started junior high.
The movies she was in Japan became hits internationally once she became a teenager, kind of like how Parasite blew up despite the language barrier. Some of the shows she starred in were dubbed into English because they became so popular but fans outside of Japan wanted her to star in something bigger.
Once she got into high school she began her international career, starring in Hollywood blockbuster after Hollywood blockbuster. She guest starred in some American TV shows and was so popular her characters became recurring characters. Yukiko even took part in a Broadway musical for the funsies, she was on American talk shows and the general population of the USA loved her.
Yukiko built herself up from the ground, from as young as the age of four she was handling her paperwork when it came to acting. This may seem unrealistic but at least in the real life American acting industry, child actors are instructed to take care of everything themselves. Producers don't want your parents on set, they expect 6 year olds to be able to have everything in order.
Yukiko had to travel a lot for her job and in doing so she started thinking that Japan was too small for her, that she wanted to see the world, all the interesting things outside of her boring neighborhood where the same things happen day in and day out. It didn't help that her parents would travel with the money Yukiko had made, so when she had her own son she began to do what her parents did and also what she had wanted to do since a young child. Little did she realize that her son was not her, that her travels would hurt him in a different way than it hurt her.
Teitan was a really accommodating school and took her absences in stride. Yukiko was on good terms with everyone there and was pretty good friends with Kogoro and therefore friends with Eri by extension since wherever one of those two went the other would follow behind trying start up some shit. This is why Teitan is so okay with Shinichi missing school for months, because his mother was similar. This is also why the school is so good at hiding info about Shinichi coming and going, since they had to hide stuff about Yukiko from the media back in the day.
Yukiko can hold a tune but she's not phenomenal at singing either.
She's not as bad as her son, she a little above average to be honest but her acting skills made up for her pretty normal singing when she starred in a Broadway musical. The only reason the musical did so well was because of her popularity.
She helped a lot of other people in broadway with their acting skills which is why even though she's nothing remarkable when it comes to her voice, she's still well loved by the industry.
Yukiko is bisexual.
Her first love was Yusaku and she never had a crush before him. all she really cared about was her career but she loved Yusaku so much she quit. Sometimes she regrets quitting because she misses being on the stage or the big screen or even the small screen but she never lets her husband or son know about these doubts because she's terrified of what their reactions would be.
Shinichi was not planned and Yukiko knew that if she were to raise him that would mean leaving her job at the height of her career but Yukiko felt like the baby inside of her was the light of her life and for him she would destroy the world, yusaku and herself if her child desired such a thing.
Yukiko knew Sharon (who we know as Vermouth) since Yukiko started to trickle into Hollywood but she only started to feel attracted to the woman long after she'd gotten married and had Shinichi. She never voiced her feelings but Yusaku found out anyway and they talked about it. They decided that the healthiest option was for Yukiko to tell Sharon about it in order to get it off her chest when they got the news that the actress had died. When Yukiko found out that Sharon was actually Vermouth it took a real toll on her mental health, not that anyone except Yusaku knew about how hard she took it.
Yukiko and Yusaku both partook in polyamory in the very early stages of their relationship though once they had Shinichi they stopped until they decided Shinichi would be able to chose because they valued his opinion and if their son wasn't okay with the idea that one day the media might unveil that the kudo couple were part of the Hollywood sex scene then they'd decide not to go back into the whole mess. At age 14 Shinichi told them they could do whatever as long as he didn't have to hear the details.
Yukiko wanted to pull Shuichi into a relationship with her and Yusaku, citing that the couple and the FBI agent only had a 5 year age gap Shuichi said he wasn't interested in anything romantic or sexual after Akemi died so the Kudo couple respected his wishes
Yukiko would spend time asking Shuichi questions about the FBI and about himself and observing the man in general whenever she came to check up on his disguise and once she got back to the US she would give Yusaku her notes who in turn wrote the screenplay for "The Scarlet Investigator". Yukiko suggested adding a side couple that owns the house that the main character rents, based off of Yusaku and Yukiko, which Yusaku does by inverting their genders and changing their nationalities to suit a western audience.
Yukiko breaks several laws to make sure that Conan's identity is not outed.
She has Jii and Kaito to mess with security footage, she pays off witness who see him and makes them sign NDAs, and Yusaku does this as well though he does it to a much lesser extent because Shinichi's more likely to get angry at Yusaku for sticking his nose into Shinichi's case than Shinichi would be angry at Yukiko
If Ai ever needs some banned substances that Agasa can't get in order to create the antidote, Yukiko sends her what she needs in bulk
Yukiko will forever hate herself for not realizing Shinichi had gone missing for 2 weeks. If apotoxin worked properly Shinichi would have died and Yukiko wouldn't know because her and Yusaku had turned their phones off for a month straight and only came back to Japan when they turned their phones on again to see that Agasa had left them a message about Shinichi turning into Conan, Ran had texted them asking if they knew where Shinichi was and the school wanted to know why Shinichi was absent
Yukiko continues to bribe Kogoro throughout Conan's stay at the Mouri Detective Agency but it comes to her surprise that Kogoro had saved almost all of it into a college fund for Conan, implying that Kogoro does not plan to give Conan back to his original parents if they ever decide to show up again.
sorry for this word vomit lol

You can change it - BNA AU (part 2)
Continuing from my previous post about my BNA headcanon Here what I thought as following events after season 1. Some rough ideas
AFTER SEASON 1:
After season 1 things started to change. Initially everything went smooth. Michiru had her own circle of friends being her, Nazuna and Nina (plus Marie occasionally). All this while keeping on with baseball, being beastfolk advisor (from the manga) while starting to go more on missions with Shirou.
Soon however, Nazuna became really busy as “symbol” for the human/beast-men peace. Having two jobs, her baseball career and helping Nazuna too is driving Michiru exhausted. This brings them to see each other much more rarely (also because Michiru is not officially Nazuna’s manager, but more an emotional support) and their friendship becomes weakier.
If things are turning brighter for AnimaCity and Shirou, they are not quite the same for Michiru. On a side, her work with Shirou is more and more her real work and is payed quite well. On another, she is starting to miss her parents and has yet to contact them since over a year. So, for her birthday Melissa suggests Shirou to accompany Michiru to see her parents as surprise, using the excuse that they need to work outside the city too from now on. They find her mother first at home (who mistaken Shirou as Michiru’s boyfriend) and it’s quite an emotional reunion. Michiru’s mom is resemble a lot her daughter and is very embarassing for her, but “less annoying” (as Shirou’s jokes about). Michiru’s father is often absent for work, so seeing him was already rare for the girl. It’s much more shocking that he arrives home that day. Things are nice but akward and get even more discomforting when Michiru explain what caused her transformation. Knowing a cure now exists, her dad demands why she hasn’t took it yet and if she actually has intentions to ever assume it and go back to her old life. The disappointment is big when Michiru, a bit sorrowful but convinced, says she decided to keep living as beast-woman hybrid, live in AnimaCity and work with Shirou as detective. If her mother feels proud Michiru actually found her way and turned to be a fine strong girl, after witnessing her crisis when she first transformed and stayed one year in her bedroom. Her father instead doesn’t think she is ready to be indipendent and doesn’t admire her choice to give up on school and a possible future career. He brings up basketball as one of his daughter’s paths that she fought hard to convince her dad for, claiming how she threw that away too when once she insisted for it and how he was sure she would keep changing idea. Biggest difficulty thought for him, is actually accepting that his daughter prefer to be a beast-woman than going back to be a human. Apparently he didn’t seems to hate beast-men, but didn’t consider his daughter to just... become one of them, much less permanently. As long as it wasn’t really his concern he didn’t think much of it. Things get difficult and the encounter ends in a bad note. Her bond with her parents now weakier than ever (her mother it’s okay with things, but the new adjustments won’t make it easy. So she just asks for Shirou to take care of her daughter), she feels like something needs to change. Eventually she talk with Shirou and actually consider really the possibility of leaving AnimaCity to do missions with him around the world. She needs to sort out her life and think this travel could help her. Michiru loves adventure and this help her grow a lot closer to Shirou. After the incident, they will take more peace and eventually go back to live in AnimaCity permanently, going back to help there as it’s expanding greatly. They often talked during their travels, before getting together, on how they imagined the future. Michiru grew up a lot and developed much more her like towards children, wishing to be a mother. Shirou, while confessing he never thought he would one day have a family or found someone (he sometime felt lonely but never really pondered on the matter), also grew to like the idea to have his own family, his pack (officially). It’s thought more a faint hope for him. That’s it, until they finally get together. And not much time later into their relationship and after being back in AnimaCity, Michiru discover to be pregnant. It wasn’t planned, but she is really excited and emotionate about it. Shirou, still thinking it’s too good to be true, develops a frantic side (which he tries to cover very much, even if failing miserably). Over his long life, he could gain many experiences and knowledge, but the one he very much feels lacking is “being a father”. He also becomes much more softheart (which he tries to hide, but fails to, again, with whom he is close to) and very protective (which he very willingly shows). Everything seems even more brighter, an even more exciting new experience when the two old teens discover they are going to have twins. Two baby boys. This doesn’t last for much. In my headcanon, the genetic beast factor (the animal dna that the cub picks from one of the parents) even developing rather early, it’s discovered late in the pregnancy, when its dna is much more complete and ready to be determinated. This is due to the baby developing with human-ish appearance in the mother’s belly (so a mother can carry a kid even if she/he has the beast genes of the father. Wouldn’t it be a little odd for like... a penguin mother to make an egg with then a dog kid?) Michiru and Shirou couldn’t know, but a problem started early in the pregnancy and ended up to explode much later when the beast dna was supposed to determinated. As Michiru started to get ill and feel very bad, things degenerated and she ended up losing one of the kids. Her “lucky recovery factor” thought, managed to save both her and the other cub. Doctors tried to find a cause to all this, but the closest one they could come up with was that Michiru’s hybrid human-beastwoman DNA messed up a bit the growth and development of the fetuses (basically, the moment the kids would have “picked” which genes to take; Shirou’s, so becoming silver wolves, or Michiru’s, becoming tanukis. Michiru has still some human dna, and this created like a “bug”? ^^”) and being the first pregnancy didn’t help. Of course all this devastated Michiru, who from being really emotionate and happy fell into a big depression and insecurity. “I killed one of our babies...” “I wasn’t strong enough to protect my kids” Shirou and friends try to help her but nothing seems to work. The whole situation escalates even more when her bond with Nazuna has a sudden break. (I will go further into this later) Fearing for his girlfriend and child’s safety and health, Shirou try one last thing. He visits again her parents’ home and brings her mother to AnimaCity, while explaining what happened. As much as Melissa and Gem are like parents to her and Shirou, her biological mother who raised her it’s someone irreplacable. After an emotional talk and her mother promising to not care about the consequences with her father and promising to be there in her life, things start to get better. Michiru recovers and manages to find the light in her life again, also thanks to Shirou and all her cared ones. Some time later, she will give birth to her son Henko (I changed name from Hajime)  (meaning “change”, from their perspective changing and how they changed themselves and what they wanted. Also referred as “new start”) Two years later they will decide to have another kid (this time having a carefully monitored pregnancy) and, with things going smooth, they will welcome Yukiko (which means snow and happiness. It was chosen after Mayor Rose, whom original name was “Natalia” which is a name correlated to Christmas, winter and happiness)

Misc. Information:
FACECLAIM: Sode no Shirayuki VOICECLAIM: TBD IRLCLAIM: TBD
Bio:
She goes by many names though most simply know her as the Yuki-onna. She doesn't know how she was created or where she came from, all she does know is that one day, many centuries ago during a horrible blizzard she awoke on a mountain covered heavily in the snow. She holds no memories of anything before that and she can only assume that was when she was born. The cold tends to follow her where ever she goes that is why she is usually only seen during the winter months of any country. She has learned that causing a drastic drop in temperature in the middle of the summer can create a panic among the humans.
There are many stories about her as well, ones ranging from her being the spirit of a woman that was killed during a snowstorm all the way up to a queen or goddess of winter. Her tales are far spread though she has done everything in her power to prevent that for she truly only has one weakness. That weakness is that if anyone shall discover exactly who or what she is, then she can no longer stay and she will either turn into a pile of snow or even become a freezing gust of wind and vanish, only to reappear back on the mountain she first woke up on.
Time works differently for her, in the amount of time it takes for her to come down from her mountain, to her would be about a week to a month depending on several things, is several years in the time of mortals. Those who do discover what she is or the ones that are warned by her to not tell her tale will be killed if they do. Most of the stories on her were from sightings more than anything else for she doesn’t interact with people very often. However, she does feed on the life force of humans in order to retain her human form and prevent her from being sent back to her mountain.
There is one tale, in particular, that is true, though the only ones who actually know of it are the ones that were involved. Maybe centuries ago, Yukiko stumbled upon an elderly man and a young boy when she was in need of energy. After draining the elderly man, she turned to the boy but because of his innocence, she was unable to do the same to him and let him go with the warning to never speak to anyone of their encounter or she would return to kill him. Several years later, she meets a man within the village and falls in love with him. They marry, have two kids and one day, he made an offhanded comment about the woman that his wife reminds him of, the woman in all white that he had met as just a boy who had spared his life after killing off his grandfather.
It was at this moment that Yukiko realized exactly who her husband was and was furious that he dared to speak of it even after all this time. Thankfully, for his sake, he technically hadn’t broken his word since he told her instead of a human and thus she sparred his life once more. But the incident revealed what she truly was to him and she could no longer stay with her family. She left with a threat lingering that if any harm were to befall her children she would return once again and seek out revenge for them because it is said that children born to a creature of the woods were cursed and that any town the lived in would end up cursed as well.
This was not true, but it was the fear of it being possible that was enough to make mortals overreact if they were to find out the truth. Luckily, the husband never spoke another word of what his wife was or the story from when he was a boy and their children grew up to live rather good lives. Now, Yukiko simply roams going to and from her mountain hoping to one day break what she considers her curse and allowing someone to finally get close to her and know what she is without her fading away.
Personal Information: (Former self)
NAME: Itsumi Yagami NICKNAME[S]: Sumi DATE OF BIRTH: October 10th 1274 AGE: 743 GENDER: Female (She / Her) SPECIES:  Human SPOKEN LANGUAGES: Japanese SEXUAL PREFERENCE: Demisexual RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single
General Information:
HAIR COLOR: Black EYE COLOR: Brown HEIGHT:  5′8 TATTOOS: None SIBLING[S]: Hisashi (Deceased) PARENT[S]:   Kaede and Ginjiro (Both deceased) CHILDREN:  Ronin Yagami LIKE[S]:  TBD DISLIKE[S]:  TBD
Misc. Information:
FACECLAIM: TBD VOICECLAIM: TBD IRLCLAIM: TBD
Bio: (Trigger warning)
Itsumi was born into a family of samurai, her family name known for the honor that both her father and grandfather had brought it. She was raised well, exactly what you’d expect of the daughter of a famous samurai. She was quiet and reserved and very much loved by her family. However she approached one day by Ares, though she wasn’t family with the gods from Greece, she knew something was unusual about him. She couldn’t shake the cold that seemed to settle within her when near him.
He made several advances on her, each of which was refused and in turn, only angered the Greek god. He didn’t take no for an answer and forced himself onto the young woman. She became pregnant, brought dishonor to her family because she wasn’t married and she ran away from her home. She raised her son alone, chosing the name Ronin since it means a samurai without a master. At the ripe age of 12, Ares returned, taking his son from his mother and placing a curse on the woman who dared to refuse the god.
When she woke up, she had become a Yuki-onna with no memories of who she was. This curse forces her to kill anyone who dares to speak of who or what she is and anything that she has done and if anyone were to figure out what she is, she is forced to leave usually disappearing into a pile of snow or become a freezing gust of wind and vanish only to reappear on her mountain. This prevents anyone from getting close to breaking the  curse or for her to be able to form any bonds because if she were to grow close to anyone, it is only a matter of time before they figure out what she is and she is forced to leave them behind, and sometimes even kill them.
The only way to break the curse is for someone to say her true name in her presence. A simply yet almost impossible thing to achieve for she doesn’t even remember anything of her past and the only two people alive that would know is the one who cursed her himself and her son, Ronin, who believes she is dead and wouldn’t even recognize her if he saw her.

Yukiko +. Heiji !!! Need a pair name !!! + :Long post of headcanon / prompt
I have a headcanon where those two are very close friends, bonding over the misfortunes of one very cute shrunken detective.
This would probably follow a setting such as this:
*Hattori heiji was approached by a classmate, said classmate is a very talented dancer and singer and is trying out for all and any competitions he can fine for amatures in hope of catching big peoples’ eyes.
This classmate has his eyes on an oncoming big annual dance compition. One Problem: there has been unsettling rumors about this compition. Apparently the most popular winners are taken for some hardcore secret ‘training camp’, /Where mysterious things happen/
Heiji ever the great detecated that he is, wants to sneak in... by participating and WINNING! But Heiji is no perfomer....  That’s where Yukiko Kudou comes in.
To be clear, those two have been on texting relationship since the second month Heiji had befriended Shinichi. **********......../ because of another headcanon idea that she and Yusaku had gave him a scare prank similiar to the one they gave conan when they kidnapped him. Those two are parents after all! Even if they don’t have much screen time, i believe they are very protective and do tons of background checks on all of Conan’s close friends. / ......*******
Anyways, end point,Yukiko and Heiji are friends that share embarrassing photos of Conan. And Heiji sends her a request to teach him enough to enter the training camp ( in a couple of months yet to come) ......... Then the fun/hell insues .Heiji keeps all this a secret
So at the compition , we have mulitple stuff happening. Kazuha ever awar of heiji realizes he’s hiding something but still doesn’t know what it is, so in last attempt begs Ran & Snonoko ( and who ever else you’d like to imagine tags along) to a Disco/Arcade dance revolution comp/ Stage performance in Underground Club/middle of town festival where BAM! They are all surprised to find Heiji and a *random* hot chick dancing their way to the top with CRAZY talents !  Dancing is all kind of styles ( bordering/is on dirty dancing territory)
Of course its not a random chick but yukiko in disguise or not - but KAzuha doensn’t know her so either is fun ( which Conan recognizes immediately )  and maybe Ran does recognize her but she’s enjoying seeing Kazuha seething in jealousy.
Other possible edition a possibility of HAkuba Kaito or some of the Police force Tokyo/Osaka  people see the performance and be amazed by Heiji unexpected skills and his complete ease with intimate performance with a strange beautiful sexy lady.  his Father’s reaction will be hilarious !!
What doesen’t help is Yukiko’s natural affective personality, what they call ‘European’ and she’s always hugging  pressing her body super close to heiji ( which increases Hattori father and mother ( the traditionalists ) radical disgust / distrust / unsure reaction to this unexpected side of their son, and blows Kazuha’s jealousy out of propitious.
On the other hand, in contrast to Yukiko over affectionate persona, Heiji reacts completely natural to her, never affected and never shys away from her, on the contrary he even returns the kisses and hugs ( but in a completely respectful way, this IS his best friend’s mother after all ! ) and he’s awfully protective of her, since she tends to catch perverted men’s eyes and maybe get in trouble - which she is totally capable and more than strong enough to get out of  on her own, but she loves playing damsel in distress - ( NOT out of romantic interest at all!! But out of deep respect to both her and Shinichi)
So yeah , long post , but this is a headcanon i’ve had in mind for while and even though this fanart had been ready for a long while now, i didn’t want to post it anywhere without writing the backstory to it!
Tell me, what do you think?
