i hate accidents except when we went from friends to this (E) by cl0udy_mi1k Simon is Wilhelm's best friend, so when he confesses that he's insecure about his lack of experience Wille offers to help him. After all, it's what any good friend would do, isn't it?

Addicted to You (E) by yr_bb Simon missed him, of course he did. He knew nothing had really changed. But this forced separation was a new kind of torture, and he hated it. Hated that he wanted him still, but even in his whole setting boundaries thing, he hadn’t actually wanted to move on. He didn’t, he couldn’t, not if there was still a chance. Being this close was only bringing that all up again.

sorry about the blood in your mouth (i wish it was mine) (E) by witchjeons In the aftermath of the video, Simon falls apart. Wilhelm is there to put him back together.

There all along (E) by stretchoutandwait Kristina's death brings Simon back into Wilhelm's life after years apart. Wilhelm has to negotiate learning to become king and starting (or restarting?) a relationship at the same time.

The spare (T) by Hannakin Erik can’t imagine anything worse than losing his little brother. He lives through his worst nightmare when Wille is horribly injured.

Hello fellow fic lovers I’m looking for a fic I read on AO3 and can’t seem to find anymore.

Honestly I don’t even know anymore what it was about (lmao I know but it was more pwp) buuuut it had like 3 or 4 chapters and in one chapter Simon had sex with like 4 or 5 other royals. Wille’s Month 2024-

prompt 14- Mental Health

As mental health is kinda my thing, I thought I would gather some fanfiction recommendations where Wille’s mental health is integral to the story as well as beautifully represented. One of the thing I really enjoy about YR fans and writers (or the little bubble I have curated for myself) is the way everyone validates, supports and makes space for mental health.

Everyone’s mental health journey is personal and I feel that truth in our writers stories, in how they embody Wille and Simon, and sometimes, I think I can even hear their therapist’s voices whispering from in between the lines. Even knowing not everyone is writing from personal experience, I still can’t help but feel grateful for the way writers make us feel and understand their struggles with constant care and compassion.

Because its Wille’s Month, I have tried to give suggestions where Wille’s MH is at the forefront or equally present and some variation in presentation - depression, body dismorphia, trauma/ptsd, ocd, substance abuse, autism, suicide, self-harm, burn-out, disordered eating and grief. Please mind the tags in each story.

There are also so many stunning depictions where Simon’s struggle is the louder voice, and it absolutely pains me not to include some of those here, but if people are interested, I would be happy to share Simon’s list too.

Love, apparently, comes at the most unexpected moments and in the most random places. Wille agrees with that. He did not expect to meet the love of his life online, but the moment his eyes landed on Simon through the screen, it was like he knew that it was going to be something special, something extraordinary...

What he did not know then, was the distance between them, the differences, the troubles they were going to face in order to be together in the way they wanted to.

But another thing that he does know, is that Simon is worth it and that they are in this together, both of them willing to put themselves through all of the obstacles if it means they get their happy ending.

The question is: will they get it?

Their relationship is super sweet here and I love the way they handle conflict. It’s so well done.

Pure blooded wolves were said to descend from the moon goddess herself, being able to shift to their wolf forms, their genes stronger than the ones of the common wolf. They were the prime species. If a wolf were to be born pure blooded, no matter alpha, beta or omega, they were automatically in line of succession.

Wilhelm presented as an Alpha, in a long line of pure-bloods, at eighteen moons of age. He had a role to fulfill as the future Head Alpha of the northern pack.

And Simon, a male omega, a nobody, had fallen head over heels for the young alpha.

The only problem? Wilhem was set to be mated to another omega.

This feels like a fantasy setting which I love! It’s a lot about them as actual wolves , which is different (for me). The dynamic is again super interesting.

They are silly and they are sweet and they are in love and I love them too. Again one I’ve realized is almost completed which feels bittersweet already!

Simon has his birthday party and starts to accept that he doesn’t have to take care of everything on his own. Wille and Simon’s love story comes to a close, or rather a new beginning, showing them that no matter how broken they believe themselves to be, their infinite love for each other will always be stronger.

The holidays are coming early for this lovely fandom. I present you my favourite fanfics from this year to tide us all over until season 3.

Canon / Missing Moments

a running start (T) by This_time_its_just_me It’s so surreal to see him standing here in the Palace, in the Royal apartments where Wille had grown up through all the good and the bad of his life. It’s an image he couldn't have imagined, not in the sheer unremarkable and yet truly remarkable way it feels in reality. Sure he’d conjured up images of him, ghosts of memories and fantasies tangled together in a love-sick teenager's ache of loss. However, this is him here, pragmatic and tangible and real and it’s just difficult to wrap his mind around it.

Post Canon (maybe)

The equation of you Whiterabbit11 Simon is hurt and unconscious at the local hospital. Rosh watches, Ayub sleeps, and Wille is not happy.

He doesn’t remember a time when he looked into the mirror and that pair of burgundy seeds weren’t staring back at him. To Simon, the marks are an obligation. He doesn’t ever want to be tied to someone in this irreversible, caging way. But, as in most things in his life, Simon doesn’t get a choice. The seeds sit and sit on his belly for years, ignored and hidden and resented.

AUs

Ivy (M) unfortunate17 Wilhelm raises his eyebrows as well. “Pirate Captain Simon Eriksson.” He watches as Simon swallows, stepping forward to set the coins down on the countertop. He still smells like the ocean, Wilhelm notes vaguely, like sunshine and sea-salt. Ayub looks between the two of them, alarm twisting across his features until Wille sighs. “I’m not here to arrest anyone.”

It can't last, but neither can they stop being a part of each other's lives. You're Still the One (M) queerfrogprince Simon and Wille meet on tumblr as teenagers, but when they lose contact, Simon doesn't think he'll ever hear from Wille again, much less bump into him in a supermarket in Stockholm one random afternoon. It's been five years, after all. He barely even thinks about Wille anymore. But, it seems, Wille never stopped thinking about him. Maybe it's not too late to rekindle what they had at fifteen, after all.

Hetero of the Year @girls-are-weird Prince Wilhelm is nominated for the Hetero of the Year award at the QX Gay Gala. In response, he freaks out. Simon, his popstar friend who's been pining for him for the better part of a year, worries this might mean Wille's secretly homophobic. After all, what other reason could there be for him to get so upset?

Which would be romantic and all, if it didn’t lead to him blindly stumbling into the sex shop Simon works at. Once he figures out his mistake, it’s already too late. But Wille wouldn’t be Wille if he let that stop him from pursuing the most beautiful boy he’s ever seen. If only things didn’t keep getting in the way of his plans…

Simon can't believe he of all people has to work not only with an old conservative but with the literal prince. Both are surprised by the inexplicable and inevitable pull they feel towards each other.

hello!! it’s been a while since i’ve done a rec list and this is my first one for yr and im very excited to share!! i know several of these are some of the more well-known fics in the fandom but hey, if there’s someone who hasn’t heard of them then i’d be glad to help direct people there!

If you asked Simon and Wille, neither of them could tell you exactly how they ended up inside a cell at the Bjärstad police department for getting in a fight with August and his friends. The thing is, neither of them is mad that they ended up there together. Will our two favourite idiots figure out by themselves why they are ready to smack people for each other or will it take some princely meddling?

They are the absolute cutest in that fic, and there’s one thing I enjoyed very much. Anything by those two authors (both separately and as a duo) is amazing and this is no exception.

The dagger at Simon’s hip weighs more than it had when he’d first strapped it to himself this morning.

Wille gentles an arm around his shoulders, pointing out exotic birds and plants, explaining their respective habitats, their food habits. The vulnerable skin of his throat is unguarded, the tender flesh near his heart covered only by thin, white cotton. It would be quick, Simon promises himself, painless even. Wilhelm need not unnecessarily suffer.

“– back inside?”

Simon blinks up at him.

Wille’s shading his eyes, brows knitted together in faint concern as he looks down at him.

Simon feels himself flush. “Sorry, I missed what you said.”

Or, Wille is the second born son of Queen Kristina. Simon is the fool who marries him with the goal of assassinating him and bringing an end to the tyrannical monarchy. It doesn't go according to plan.

I was on the edge of my seat with this one. I love this kind of more medieval setting and the premise of that one?? Simon being there to assassinate Wille? Sign me UP. You won’t be disappointed.

Prince Wilhelm can't seem to catch a break. When he is pulled into yet another scandal through no fault of his own, he is desperate enough to try one last thing to salvage his image: A publicly staged fake relationship.

Simon Eriksson is a struggling young artist, trying to make a name for himself and tired of the obstacles he faces on his way into the music industry. He'll take any publicity at this point.

When done right (for my taste ofc, there’s no real right or wrong way in creativity and art!!), I love a good fake relationship. And this one is done super right imo. Erik is alive, and wilmon is full of feelings and I was too when reading.

Running from his mother and her unattainable expectations, Wilhelm finds solace at his brother’s house in Bjärstad. It was there he found a sense of belonging, a sense of hope, that, maybe one day, he too could be brave like Erik and leave his tumultuous household.

It only took one night for the boy next door to catch his eye. The boy who lived in the house where screaming and fighting seemed to be a constant, who shooed away help like his life depended on it but seemed to crave it so deeply in his soft brown eyes.

“I just wanna be friends with you. Everyone needs a friend.”

"Bullshit.”

Because since the first night they met, Simon saw the way Wilhelm looked at him. It was the way this whole fucking town looked at him but worse. Like he was broken, weak, someone who needed to be saved by the cute, privileged boy next door even though he’d been protecting his family for as long as he could remember - even the one who was destroying them.

"Why do you say that?”

“Because I see the way you look at me, Wille."

Because I think I might look at you the same way and I don’t just wanna be friends with you, either.

This one was very interesting to read and pretty angsty (at least to me, I don’t read much heavy angst). I loved how important of a role Erik had too. Very interesting dynamics.
