Considering how massive of a wave Klance was back in the glorious days of Voltron, I have expected Lance to… idk, shine more?

I’m seriously wondering if it’s just me or Lance is kinda lost amongst the cast. He’s the most… average, I’d say, I have yet to find his speciality.

If it’s supposed to be his sniper skill then I don’t see it. If it’s supposed to be his pilot skill then again, I don’t think so.

If it’s supposed to be his averageness tho - I think the writers nailed it, because Lance turns out to me as the most relatable character throughout the series. I’m not half-Galra, I don’t have a genius’ brain nor a mechanic arm, and I do feel insecure for like half of the time.

I’m having conflicts here bc on one hand: I see Lance as the simplest character in the series, his talents more often than not pales in comparison to the others; whereas on the other hand, I do find Lance… well, human. He’s simple, emotional, funny, dumb,… all human, and that makes him easier to get and to love.

It still took me off guard Klance is so popular tho LOL. Maybe thanks to their few times of sincere bonding moments? I don’t—Wha——

Keith made such an excellent choice to save Pidge of all people. Granted, maybe it’s because she’s the closest to him at that time... But I, too, would priotize saving Pidge when I have no idea what’s going on around me LOL. Pidge is like 80% brain of the team and the remaining 20% is Hunk istg

I just realized that when Pidge mentioned that their fates were in Coran’s hands, Keith, Shiro and Romelle are the only people who didn’t make that kind of “Coran, of all people?” face.

Romelle didn’t probably because she didn’t know better, but Keith and Shiro had had a fair share of their time interacting with the man, and yet neither did they... seem that fazed at the idea lol - whereas even Allura wasn’t that confident with their hopes in Coran’s hands.

Remember, this is after their journey to Earth and that horrible time with Coran’s Altean alphabetic song. They didn’t enjoy it - even Krolia made a face at the mention of Coran - but somehow Keith and Shiro dind’t. Idk if this was just their natural repertoires - provided that Shiro was a rather composed man himself (still 6yrso tho) - but it was nice to think that someone still had faith in Coran when the time comes.

Keith and Shiro seemed to know how to trust their allies.

Krolia’s first reaction when the time lapse thing came was covering Keith with her body and I cried.

I cried for the whole Quantum Abyss thingie actually. my tears dried whenver Allura & Lotor showed up and when it reverted to Krolia and Keith i just cried again.

Ngl if I have to choose one character to end up with Keith, I would go with Acxa.

Like. Talking professionally here. I would have nothing against it if they were to be canon. Their chemistry somehow makes the most sense to me (aside from Allurance, maybe). They are somehow both lonely wolves and leaders of a group at some point. They do have a history. I do think they would make a great team. Just straight up power couple.

I want to marry Acxa too but like. She and Keith could have make a badass duo. And you can’t possibly convince me that there couldn’t have been something between them with how the other characters hinted at it “Your favorite paladin” are you serious

The fandom would lynch me before I could even open my mouth lmao.

Anw jk. Or maybe not. Ngl I'm pretty enthusiastic about Sheith, just that I don't think it's a good idea for them to end up with each other with everything that had transpired.

Why, you ask? Well, there's your iconic "You're my brother". The fact that DW put that line in there has perfectly hindered every potential of them together in a romantic sense. (Without that, however-----)

Tbh I feel like DW actively meant it to break the ship before it has a chance to flourish lmao, bc it's clear that the Western fandom would take everything as offensive as long as they dislike it. Not me though. I'm in this hole and I refuse to leave.

As for Acxa, I'm personally quite fond of her ngl. The rest I've mentioned in the post I believe?

All in all, obviously the safest choice would be to leave Keith as Keith and just forgo the romantic facets altogether (IN CANON) - which I'm so, so glad DW chose to go with.
