Zeno's expression got me curious here it seems that he heard something dripping and when he looked at the direction of the sound he saw something that shocked him what was it ???

Me, a naive fool: "Hmm.. it's been almost a year since I read Akatsuki no Yona, I guess now is a good time to catch up! I can't wait to see my blorbos and their happy found family again :)"
The latest manga chapters:
WELL I DID NOT EXPECT TO TEAR UP OR STRAIGHT UP CRY IN ALMOST EVERY CHAPTER BUT IT'S FINE. EVERYTHING'S FINE.

SPOILERS FOR CH 253 OF AKATSUKI NO YONA/ YONA OF THE DAWN MANGA
I drew this panel in my own style
This is actually my first fanart of akatsuki no yona ever. It's really surprising since this is actually my favorite series of all time, and ive been following this manga since 5-6 years ago, possibly more. I honestly felt like I had to make it considering what happened in said chapter
no text version vvv
in my opinion, because i literally grew up with these characters throughout the years, and reading their journey up until now, this hurts me more than what happened so far in Twisted Wonderland's book 7 (my other main fandom im in rn)
just a tad more (lies, THIS HURTS A LOT MORE BC ITS JUST BEEN OVER A YEAR OF ANGST BEING BLASTED IN MY FACE)
Sorry if the quality of my sketch isnt up to par with the original
As stated before, ive never drawn any fan art for this fandom before this point, and it's currently 3:38 am for me

I was gonna prepare a blog discussing how I should have seen this coming from Zeno and provide any previous pages as possible evidence. But I've been rereading his chapters for a week. And while yes, I can draw similarities to him and characters like Zeref (who was the main antagonist of Fairy Tail) I can't call Zeno a villain.
I'm gonna trust that Kusanagi has plans for Zeno that DON'T include a villain arc. Zeno and the actions he's been taking will not be considered evil or a betrayal until we see the climax.
Cuz things like this just make it impossible for me to distrust him

thoughts about jae-ha (MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD)
call me a wishful thinker (because i may be) but i do think jae-ha is alive and i have a list of reasons why.
the whole situation feels like a very rushed one. something like that feels much too abrupt for a character as important as jae-ha is (even beyond being a dragon, jae-ha is extremely integral). if jae-ha truly were to die, i think kusa would have given much more to it.
there have never been mentions of previous dragons dying because they turned into dragons. given, it may not have happened before now, but even if that was the case there probably would have been even a hint that it would happen to someone, likely word from zeno. i really think that jae-ha's powers were just so deeply exhausted that he felt so weak he thought his lifespan had ended. when previous dragons were shown to start dying, they even become LESS like a dragon. ao, for example, lost the blue dragon's sight. jae-ha would have gotten weaker, not suddenly stronger.
the previous dragons' lifespans were short for a reason!! the whole point of the dragons having relatively short lifespans is so that they would all be around and in their best condition for the time hiryuu would be reincarnated. now that he has been reincarnated, that yona is there, it would be pointless for a new dragon to take over jae-ha's lifespan.
not even that many chapters ago, jae-ha disappeared similarly after being attacked. knowing that it's something that can be done, why rule that out??
this one has more to do with publishing, but if the dragons all started dying off, in a story that doesn't have an extremely large cast of important characters, and the dragons being some of the most generally popular characters, the series itself would lose a LOT of audience retention.
also generally, a big motif of yotd's story is the breaking of cycles/curses. throwing it away now feels pointless.
this could all just amount to nothing when the next chapter comes out, but thinking narratively it really doesn't make sense for jae-ha to die this way and at this time.
