What is pastel goth?
Pastel Goth is a type of goth that originated during the late 2000s and it eventually spread on tumblr in the 2010s. It mixes the traditional goth style and dark themes with pastels and maybe some kawaii themes.
How do I wear pastel goth?
Although everyone’s style is different, there are 2 main ways I’ve seen people wearing pastel goth.
1. You could wear all pastels and accessorize with dark themes
2. You could wear a dark goth outfit and accessorize with pastels
Think of an opposites attract theme like “Sweet but psycho”, “toxic sugar”, or “creepy cute.”
No matter what, if your outfit is giving off pastel Halloween vibes your good 👍
Examples:
Why was it so controversial?
Pastel goth was/is a controversial type of goth because of the different ways people have viewed the style. Either some people believe that pastel goth is a watered down version of goth or they don’t like the style because some pastel goths don’t listen to the goth music. (Two of the controversies I’ve heard so far)
Do we need to listen to the goth music?
YES!!!!! Just because pastel goth includes more lighter colors, or is a bit different from other goths, DOESNT MEAN we don’t listen to the music.
You don’t ONLY have to listen to goth music, you’re aloud to listen to any genres you want, as long as you also listen to goth.

So this happened.
I apologize for my inactivity, school and work has been absolutely insane. I have been playing New Leaf every day though to get as much as I can before the servers shut down. Yes, this includes exchanging 100 visits with randos on Reddit for unlimited hacked Sanrio items. I decorated the bottom floor of my house, so I’ll post that later. I also started the Beautiful Town ordinance, because I am SICK of watering flowers.
I finished funding for both the Roost and the Dream Suite (with the help of friendly Redditors), so my main focus has been trying to visit others and get to 500 dreams. If you want me to visit, leave your Dream Address!
Things in my personal life are not going as well. My dog passed away yesterday at 6 years old. We have no idea what happened, but it seems as if he had severe organ failure. He was always very sick, even as a puppy, but this was very unusual and he declined very quickly. I don’t want to get into it, but this was the third major health scare in less than 9 months where we thought we’d have to put him down.
I am struggling to get things done because I am having POTS flare ups and I have been dealing with depression-related fatigue. I am trying to keep going, but it is hard. I am also dealing with a lot of stress because of my fiancée, because we might have to move in June so he can start grad school. He is stressing me out with financial talk and trying to convince me to enter a mortgage on a property I’ve never even seen in a city we’ve never been to. The FAFSA delay is screwing us because we don’t know how much in loans we’ll have to take out, so this affects which school he chooses to attend. I also don’t know what I’ll be doing until I can start my MA program. I may try to take Chinese or Vietnamese courses as a nonmetriculated student at the university my fiancée is going to, or I may be ambitious and try to do it at the Ivy League school nearby…
I recently won two awards for my thesis as well as my service to the department I belong to. I am dealing with major impostor syndrome because of this. I don’t feel like I deserve to win, and I even consulted my favorite professor to make sure that he didn’t influence the decision in any way because he is the department chair. I’m not sure if I want to even attend the ceremony because I am dealing with intense body image issues and if anybody tries to take a picture of me, I’ll go insane.
I will try to post occasional updates if I can. Animal Crossing is my main coping mechanism through everything going on. I have so many other games I want to play, but so little time.
I want to try the new Stardew Update, but I have such minimal progress in my main save file. I’m horrible with getting through the Skull Cavern mines, and it’s really holding me back. I haven’t played Stardew in a very long time, so I may just play from a completely different save file and start over.
Another game I’ve been playing more lately is Minecraft. I wouldn’t say it’s been a full-on intense Minecraft phase, but I started a new "Survival" world (I play on Peaceful until it’s not convenient for me - I have been playing for 12 years and beaten the game numerous times, I know what I’m doing!) and I’m trying to exit my comfort zone by building in biomes I would usually skip over.
Sorry for my inactivity, shit is rough right now. I don’t know what else to say. I deal with grief really weird for someone who is extremely mentally ill and emotionally unstable. I’m oddly fine. He died in such a traumatic state, so maybe it’s me knowing that he’s at peace now. I don’t know.
Also this has been me every morning sitting in my office at school high as FUCK listening to Strawberry Switchblade/Rose McDowall and getting absolutely nothing done. I have absolutely cooked my Spotify Wrapped and it’s not even April.

𖤍 i'm dyslexic. so i use text-to-speech to read people's fics, & speech-to-text to write my stuff.
𖤍 really suck at small talk but i don't mind people coming in my dm for chit-chat.
𖤍 writer's block is a big struggle for me, so i can't post my stuff as often as i wish i would.
𖤍 sucker for supernatural (esp. witch, vampire) media/literature. fave witch archetype is the voodoo & wicca-inspired. hate the wizard archetypes, put the wand down. fave vampire archetypes are bram stoker, anne rice & l.j. smith. hate stephenie meyer archetypes, vampires should NOT sparkle in the sun. loathe werewolf media/literature.
𖤍 have an undying appreciation for dark themes & gore in media/literature, but only if it's well-executed & feels natural to the plot. something about delving into that frame of mind to produce such work & coming out mentally unscathed, is praiseworthy.

absolutely obsessed over the fact that people on this hellsite know strawberry switchblade
saw someone namedrop that band in an anon ask and instantly became incredibly fascinated, decided to search for posts and apparently they're big with the goth community on here
i know of their existence solely for the reason that rose mcdowell collabed with lots of darkfolk bands, most notably death in june (yes) and current 93, and i'm absolutely 100% sure that those goths that like strawberry switchblade don't know that..
i mean yes di6 was blatantly antifascist and such, but come on how many times did douglas dress up in nazi uniforms? and the community they gathered around their art is also very right-wing even if for the wrong reasons, i don't think goth girlies will like that very much

You walked in Jay’s house not expecting to see it decorated for Valentine’s Day. You knew that y’all were going to be spending the day together, but you definitely didn’t expect him to do anything fancy. You had already left his Valentine’s Day gift(chocolate covered strawberries, his favorite protein powder, a new switchblade necklace) at his house that morning while he was at the gym before you went to work(photography studio)
When he got back from the gym, he showered and decorated the house along with getting your gift from where he hid it. Well, one thing he had to pick up today so that they’d still be good. He got you flowers, a new camera, and a ring that he didn’t give you until a few minutes after the other stuff.
When you saw the new camera and the flowers, you teared up immediately. Seeing how much detail he paid attention to especially when you talk about your favorite flowers meant so much to you. You started to say something to him, “you’re the best boyfriend-.” He cuts you off while down on one knee, “Actually, it’s pronounced fiancé. Will you marry me?”
You nodded and whispered yes while in tears. He put the ring on your finger and kissed you gently.

Cash Wheeler…no one thought he’d ever settle down and stay.
They all thought he’d leave again
Nobody knew what this girl did to make him stay. Cash didn’t even really know.
She understood him. She understood his need to travel. His need to be on the road.
She was a traveling photographer. She understood being on the road all the time.
“Cash, what’s going on with you?”, Dax asked really confused. “Seriously Cash. What’s going on in your head?”, Tully wanted to know. He had to know what was throwing off one of his top guys. “She is.”, Cash replied looking at Y/N. “Y/N?”, Dax questioned.
Upon hearing her name, Y/N walked over to FTR and Tully. “Hey guys.”, she said as she stood next to Cash. “Y/N, always a pleasure to see you.”, Tully stated acknowledging her.
“Hey, Cash? I was wondering if I could talk to you later after the show?”, Y/N asked because Tully and Dax had told her that Cash liked her. Cash simply nodded not able to get the words out. “Great! I’ll see you later!”, Y/N said as she then walked off to go find Anna and Tay to take their promo pics. And of course to tell them what happened.

After telling the girls what happened and taking pictures most of the night, the show was finally over. Y/N was excited to finally have a chance to talk to Cash. She was really nervous as well.

As soon as Y/N saw Cash, her nerves calmed down a lot. Cash walked over to you, “let me get your bag? Dax said you were staying at the same hotel as us and I was hoping you and I could talk on the way there? That is if you want to ride to the hotel together.. we don’t have to…it was just an idea.” You smiled, “that sounds like a great plan, but I can carry my own bag.” Cash shook his head and grabbed your bag from you, “What kind of man would I be if I let you carry your own bag? I got it.”

After talking, the two of y’all found out there was a lot that the two of you have in common. You both also happened to find out that y’all lived in the same neighborhood. He laughed, “We literally live across the street from each other. How did we not know?”

Three weeks later, Cash asked you out. You of course said yes. It’d be a lie to say that the two of y’all weren’t together almost 24/7 now.
“I’m not even kidding when i say I want to spend the rest of my life with you”, Cash said while laying under the stars with you. “Honestly, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you too.”, you replied. “That quote about the stars you like…from that poem… The Old Astronomer to his Pupil? What was it?”, he asked. Laying your head on his chest, you replied, “I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.”

Author’s Note: I’m not gonna lie, the writers block kinda took over for a bit so it took a while to write this. I also don’t know how this turned into what it did.
