I’m back! And with a new chapter! This one is shorter, but I still hope y’all will like it!

I had trouble writing this, but I still like how it came out.

The idea of the permanent or semi permanent tear tracks is from another account here on tumblr, but I can’t find it, when I do, I’ll tag them!

5 times someone thought that something was wrong with soap + 1 time they realized that’s just how soap is.

3. Alejandro

“He makes no sound when he walks”

When he told this to Rodolfo, he thought he was just being paranoid, after all, all soldier are trained to make as little sound as possible while on missions. Some get so used to it, that they don’t make sound while on base, or at home.

Los Vaqueros had arrived to the 141 base some days ago. Captain Price, Lieutenant Ghost, and sergeant Garrick had been there to greet them, but the other friendly sergeant was nowhere to be seen.

He didn’t pay it that much attention, but after days with no glimpses from the Scott, he decided to ask Captain Price.

“ Captain Price, it’s been a while since I’ve seen Sergeant soap, is he currently deployed?” he asked after all, the young man had been of great help during the Las Alma’s mission, I’m not seeing him was quite weird since he used to always be socializing with everyone.

“ Sergeant MacTavish is on break on base, he has been feeling ill since we came back from another base” captain price said, his eyes, revealing that a simple illness was not the whole truth to it, but who was Alejandro to pry on it? So he decided to ignore it, if the sergeant wasn’t feeling well, he wouldn’t bother him.

It wasn’t until night, that he would finally see the man, and it earned him a heart attack!

He was in the common room, simply making himself a tea, when he felt a cold shudder and a whisper that made shivers go down his spine

“Would ye make me a cup?” The sergeant spoke in a low voice

He jumped

“Hijo de las re mil putas! Dios, hermano que mierda?!” He got so scared that he didn’t bother switching languages. He turned quickly to keep on shouting at the other man, but the moment he saw him, he immediately disregarded the idea

The man was covered from head to toe. A hoodie that obviously wasn’t his fell to his mid thigh, paired with some ratty and worn sweatpants and a jacket that was simply draped over his shoulders. He looked like he hadn’t seen daylight in a month

“Sorry hermano, didn’t expect you to get so surprised…” Soap spoke, but his voice was all wrong, too low, too scratchy, as if he had been screaming for a week, and when he saw his face, he almost punched himself. His face was covered in tear tracks that looked like scars, as if he was a sculpture, and the tears had been carved on his skin. His eyes were red, contrasting the normally beautiful blue. He truly looked terrible

“Ah, don’t you worry brother, was my fault, was not paying attention” he tried to talk as usual, so to not make the other soldier feel bad

“Thanks, so… what about that cup of tea?” He said, a small grin on his face, and a tiny light in his eyes “actually, make it two”

“Huh? Two? I was already making one for myself”he asked, confused at the request

“I know, one for you, one for me, and one for Ghost. Sir, you gonna come out?”

And as if he hadn’t been scared enough for a night, the big form of the lieutenant appeared from the shadows of the doorway, making Alejandro think that maybe the whole 141 was crazy

“You okay Alejandro, you look like you have seen a ghost?” Said the sergeant, now with a shit eating grin

“Haha, sergeant, you think you are so funny” said the bigger man, his covered face saying nothing, but there was an amused shine in his eyes

Deciding that he didn’t get payed to deal with this, he focused on making tea for the three of them, and prayed that there wasn’t another hidden somewhere

He heard the lieutenant asking the other how he felt, how he had been, if he needed anything and thought, ‘was I that bad before confessing to Rudy?’

He laughed silently at that

When the tea was ready, and he left the common room and the lovebirds alone, he remembered

The sergeant hadn’t made any noise when he entered the room.

He hurried to tell his lover that.

Why is planning a trip to Disney World with my Mother in Law, who has stage 4 cancer and must take all the grandbabies to Disney before she's too sick, more work and stress than when I was a regional manager opening a new store location.

Disney Genie+ is the worst idea anyone has ever conceived. This mix of first-come fisrt-served and gambling mechanics is absolute insanity. Stare at your phone all day rather than get immersed? We don't need another reason to be looking down instead of interacting with our families on vacation. People who pay for and game this system win short wait times on rides. People who don't get much, much longer waits to accommodate the gamblers. Defunctland made a video about fast passes that says everything I could want to say far better than I can ever say it. Why yes I will just ride the merry-go-round 47 times, that little AI dot has life figured out.

I wish those magic bands ran off a local park-specific infrastructure connection instead of a bluetooth connection to a phone app. Not wifi to the internet but to a LAN. No phone connection needed, they really don't need to be on the internet. Tag into a lightning lane using a kiosk or tap point, it vibrates when it is your turn. Let the phone be optional once you start your day unless you need to change your plans. Don't make the magic band vibrate the whole time the fireworks are going off, like an insistent toddler saying "look at me! Look at me!" when we all want to be looking up. Oh, I hope they "fix" that before we go.

But the mad planning for reservations at the character restaurants and special events/activities 60 days before the vacation is the actual worst. Look, I'll take first come first serve, I'll get up at the crack of dawn for my family that's fine, but let me put in a ranked choice for what I want to do that day and all the other days of my trip before it goes live and give me one of them if possible. Maybe 3 choices per day in a ranked list, (#1 dinner with Snow White on any day, #2 build a lightasber the day we go to Hollywood studios, etc.) and then you get one of those assigned by an AI between midnight and 7am Florida time before things go live. People who put something down as their #1 get first crack at that thing, with some random lottery thrown in. Then it's a free for all race for every other thing you want to reserve based on who has the fastest internet if you want more. Give people with slower connections half a chance at getting to see Snow White (only 1 dinner service per day for my kid's favorite character, with a VERY swanky and pricy prix fix menu) and then if you really didn't want that third string choice or if things changed since you set it up, you cancel and try to get something else in that t-60 days scramble. At least everyone will get something automatically off their planning list, and as people change their plans something might open up you can squeeze into (just like they already do, because some people grab 3 sit down meals a day and cancel the ones they decide not to go to the week or day before.)

It's ten days until my MIL and I wake up at dark o'clock to have a digital black friday stampede through the reservation procedure. I need some fairies on my side to get this done.

1. Are you named after anyone? Yes, a great aunt—my mom's first choice. But there's fun family drama there! A month after I was born, my mom's horribly controlling Mother-In-Law offered to buy my mom a Cadillac if she would change my name to MIL's best friend's name ("Francis")! My mom hated her MIL, so she stood up to her and turned down the deal, and I remain eternally grateful.

2. When was the last time you cried? I try to avoid crying at all costs, but I'm a sucker for poetry. My choir is rehearsing a setting of Pablo Neruda's Soneto de la Noche, composed by Morten Lauridsen. The English translation of the poem had me in tears a couple weeks ago.

When I die […] / I want for what I love to go on living / and as for you I loved you and sang you above everything, / for that, go on flowering, flowery one, / so that you reach all that my love orders for you, / so that my shadow passes through your hair, / so that they know by this the reason for my song.

(Oops, I'm tearing up again right now!)

3. Do you have kids? Nope. I enjoy my nieces and nephews, but I've never wanted children of my own.

4. Do you use sarcasm? Only with my oldest friends. I avoid it with people I don't know super-well.

5. What is the first thing you notice about people? Eye contact.

6. What is your eye color? Green.

7. Scary movies or happy endings? Definitely happy endings! But I always seek out spoiler-summaries of the latest horror movie releases. I want to learn all the clever twists, I want the scary parts described to me in gory, spine-tingling detail, I just don't want to live through the ratcheting tension and surprises in real-time.

8. Any special talents? I'm a singer! I specialized in "Early Music" (Medieval through Baroque) for many years, but I've recently switched focus to modern composers. And it's a given, considering how much I blog about it on this Tumblr account, but I'm also a writer!

9. Where were you born? In the U.S.

10. What are your hobbies? Writing, fandom, and singing.

11. Do you have any pets? I have a pair of cats (litter mates): a big orange boy and his medium-sized tabby sister. This morning was the annual vet appointment, featuring the annual horrors of a motion-sick cat making a disgusting mess in her carrier. The whole morning was traumatic for everyone involved.

12. What sports do you play/have you played? Sports and I don't mix. I played t-ball and soccer as a little kid, and field hockey for a few miserable years until the coach finally admitted I have no hand-eye coordination and stopped pressuring me to stay on the team.

13. How tall are you? 5'3"

14. Favorite subject in school? Music, with literature as a close second.

15. Dream job? My dream job is to not need a job. But I would say, pie-in-the-sky…professional writer.

Hi so I made this tumblr in hopes of reaching out to any TF fan artist or just fans who have a little bit of passion for cross generation transformers and patience for the bayfilm era.

I’ve never written or drawn anything seriously related to transformers before this all so tips and suggestions around drawing bots welcome!

Okay, so Sam Witwicky is pretty much a low bar in terms of characters in any of the transformers generation, but having my interest in transformers start when I watched the first Transformers movie by Michael bay I unfortunately stuck to the boring run of the mil nothing special character and want to absolutely reach with potential.

I’m trying to take Sam Witwicky and make him into a cybertronian. Yes there’s tags for it on ao3, yes I have read them all. And now I’m here.

I have a few ideas on the kind of plot or story I’d want to create with him.

Watching the gen 1? Transformers The Movie 1986 introduced me to HotRod and Rodimus and then watching cyberverse I liked HotRod a lot so I was thinking taking advantage of the MB movies and the 1986 Movie and creating the two Matrix tie together, converting Sams deadness into a spark and building him a Frame on Cyberton via Rodimus’s matrix.

These sketches are my first attempt at trying to draw and design a bot!sam I really leaned into transformers Prime and the older gen stylised designs

I wanted a slimmer frame similar to Arcee or Knockout from Transformers Prime, I felt they held a more to Sams humanness and personality better? Also slimmer and more agile for speed and hide ability to really call back hard to the running with the allspark and such

The giant V I just thought was goofy and just quirky enough for Sam, and then called back to the motto “No Sacrifice, No Victory” which I took and ran a mile taking inspiration from traditional Greek/romen idea like the laurel wreath. Something embedded in human history that it could make him stand out to a natural cyberton but also still be old to go with the theme of ye old matrix taking from tradition even if earth

I did start getting a feel for the more angularness, the design on the lower left particularly endeared to me a lot, diamond in the belly alluding to the where Sam was holding the allspark at one time

The single friend I had who knew anything about transformers wanted Sam to be short and looking at all the wiki heights it was just so funny imagining the line up like

I got bored and decided to Draw Rodimus shenanigans, holy hell is it hard deciding what gen of HotRod or Rodimus I’d draw and I think I just overal went for a feel more then an actual design

He’d be so compactable

Sam having heelies was a fun idea

But now I’ve got this idea of Sam as a prime or just an on Earth transformer and the idea of Tesla coils and small aircraft would not leave me alone

Like a robot reborn via matrix who can harness generating electricity and harnessing lightning to weaponise or just exist with was so cool to me and using lightning rods as mini conductors was adorable

This sketch is my latest, I was imagining him just floating in space and having a moment of “Holy shit I’m in space and this is actually magic”

Honestly I think the people who came to justify or even brag in engaging in such heinous practice are just...not *there* anymore. 1. Why did you choose your url?: When i was a kid and on my first social media sites (basically Deviantart and mail accounts) i always used "jackdragon" as my username because of Jack Redfield from Memorias de Idhún, I wanted to keep that theme on Tumblr and I came up with this one I quite like :)

2. Any side blogs?: Yes, both are dead but I don't really know how / want to delete them lol, they're @skamesptranslations for, well, Skam España clip translations; and @gleespana again, pretty self explanatory, I had a project of rebooting Glee but set in Spain and with Spanish songs and stuff.

3. How long have you been on tumblr?:

I created the account on 2014, but from 2015-2016 I was absent. I came back in 2017 and I've been here since.

4. Do you have a queue tag?:

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?:

I honestly don't remember? I think it had to do a bit with the crush I had at the moment, she had a Tumblr and maybe I wanted to have something in common with her? I don't remember us talking about Tumblr tho 6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?: I wanted an Amira icon cause she's my favourite character from the Skamverse and someone made that really funny edit with the Hackerman meme after the clip in season 2 where Amira dug up all info on Joana and whatnot; so I just took it lol (looking back I should've asked for permission, sorry to whoever it was).

7. Why did you choose your header?:

Kieutou is probably my favourite ship ever so yeah. My MIL beating Covid with a less than 5% chance of survival. M Quitting my job and going back to school (even though it sucks and I already want to be done LOL)

After paying off debts, a new house so my kids can all have their own rooms. (Preferably in a different country)

3. What is your most treasured possession? (It can’t be a person or an animal!)

Either my wedding rings or the necklace my wife gave me for our tenth anniversary while I was pregnant with the girls.

4. If you could live in any country in the world, where would you live and why?

I honestly don’t know but I’m ready to get out of the US tbqh

7. If you could talk to your 16-year-old self, what would you say to them?

What you’re feeling isn’t love. Don’t waste your teenage years on something that you know can’t and won’t happen because it feels like a safe place to explore without any risk. Yes, you’re gay. But it’s not going to ruin your life and someday it will be one of the things you love most about yourself so let this go and go enjoy being young and dumb while you still have the excuse.

8. What talent do you wish you had?

Not so much a talent but I wish I had a natural affinity to picking up new languages because I’ve never been able to get to a point where I don’t have to translate every word I see, hear, or say but I’ve always wanted to learn multiple languages.

9. Where does your tumblr username come from?

10. What’s a song from your childhood that brings back a happy memory?

My friends and I used to pretend to be the spice girls at sleepovers and would give each other makeovers to look like them and then dance and lip sync to their songs. Wannabe is the song I most associate with those times and even though I’m not friends with them anymore and we had a lot of bad blood a few years later, it’s still a really fond memory.

11. What’s a fun fact about you?

I’ve seen The Sound of Music well over 400 times. Probably more than 500, actually, but I can confidently say over 400. My questions:

975,182 words!! I am rounding in on that one mil so soon... the vast majority of this is Magicians fic.

How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

Yes! I don't think I can overstate how important comments are... if you're someone who doesn't leave comments, I really encourage you to give it a try, it means SO MUCH to writers. I always want to talk to the people who are kind enough to leave a note!

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I don't really do angsty endings because I have a happy ending guarantee on all my fics, so the closest is probably the gapfiller Bottle Episode which takes place in season two and is kind of about Quentin and Eliot not being on the same page... there's nothing in the fic that explicitly indicates that the canon story will change in any way, so I guess it implies the shitty-ness of what happens in the show. Which is. Pretty damn angsty.

(I've written major character death in other fandoms but NOT for The Magicians! Not permanent, anyway!)

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve ever written?

A Comet Pulled From Orbit and its accompanying series... it's an Old Guard and Magicians AU and I am BONKERS proud of it! Magicians characters, but they're all immortal and sleeping with each other now... go check it out.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Hmm yeah. Not really in this fandom, just a few borderline critical things here or there. In an old fandom I received quite a bit of anon hate for something really stupid that doesn't even bear repeating. People suck lol.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Yep! Fun fact: my highest kudos'd fic, Lover's Touch, was also my VERY FIRST smut scene! It's so funny to read it now because I think it's pretty clear that I'm a little nervous about it and I'm avoiding using certain words lol. I got over that pretty quickly. :)

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

No, not to my knowledge!

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not recently, but yes!!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No! I would love to give it a try but I'm nervous about how I'd do with it, honestly.

What’s your all time favorite ship?

I feel like I have to say Queliot just because of sheer amount of time and tears and energy I've devoted to them. I will say that Kirk/Spock and Brian/Justin are like... my formative slash ships and I think shipping them and reading fic for them is what made me appreciate fandom, so I have to give them shout-outs for that reason.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Honestly I'm not ruling anything out at this point! I do have a post season-4 fix-it that had some promise but I'll never get around to spiffing it up... so many other people have already done the exact same story and done it better. It's confined to drafts forever more.

What are your writing strengths?

Big long emotional conversations.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Mundane details. What people are wearing. What they're eating. What music they listen to. Geography. Atmosphere.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I like it if not overdone! I did a tiny bit of that in the Comet 'verse because all of the immortal characters are polyglots and you KNOW they're constantly slipping in and out of languages with each other... but I never did a lot of it because I don't want to rely on google translate for that kind of thing. I'm more likely to say "so-and-so said in [language]" instead of writing it all out.

What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

Twilight, friends. It was Twilight.

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I think honestly... A Comet Pulled From Orbit, or my recent one-shot Regrets, or the Absence Thereof. They are about as different as can be, but they both show different strengths of mine.

Tomorrow had come, and I was early. Wanted to get my senses right before meeting Steve. So, I started with the shitty work coffee and sat in our office, looking through paperwork.

"Bell.", I hear my nickname for the only person who calls me that, making me look up. Javi, with whom I assume is Steve, walks in. I walk up to them, "Murphy, this is Anabella Morris. Bell, this is Steve Murphy.", Javi says as me and Murphy shake hands. "Been expecting you." I say then fix my skirt some. I hated these damn things but, was the only classy thing clean today. "I'm showing Murphy around so tag along. We are heading to the ambassador's office after", Javi says tapping my shoulder and I nod and follow along with Murphy. After showing him the Mil group with Javi pissing one of them off, making me smirk and shake my head, We were finally in the ambassador's office. Javi told me it was about the info he got. He needed access to M-19 files. "Why do you need this intel? ", the ambassador asks. "There's an unusual number of prostitutes headed to Medellín this weekend.", oh boy, here's the info, "Every high-end girl in Bogotá. First class airfare, five-star hotels. The Narcos are having a meeting and then a party.", Javi says and damn, good info. "What does the M-19 have to do with this?", oh yeah, why?, "Somebody kidnapped Marta Ochoa. Intel suggests it was M-19. I need access to the M-19 files to confirm.", Javi says and I raise an eyebrow at him then look at the ambassador. "If I find out one single dollar of American taxpayer money went to any of those hookers, it'll be your ass.", Mrs. Ambassador says and try not to laugh. Because, knowing Javi, of course he paid too. And, not only with money. "OK, thank you. One last thing, Ambassador." "Yes, Agent Peña?" "I'm filing a visa request for my informant. I need your signature.", Javi says and I look back at him. Ah, Helena wants to leave. Don't really blame her. "You're bothering me.", the Ambassador says and I scoff trying not to laugh. And, we are dismissed and walk out. "She sure likes you. Is your informant really a prostitute?", Steve asks and I smirk at him then Javi "Everybody works for somebody.", Javi says and I chuckle, shaking my head as we continue walking. I am behind the men, as a woman walks by Javi tries looking back at her and I just playfully turn his head back. And he gives me the "Really?" look of disappointment and I smile innocently with a shrug.

The next day we were in a chopper to Medellín. We were meeting up with Major Carrillo. We got to the base of operations, and greeted Carrillo. Javi and Carrillo were speaking to each other in Spanish, but I understood. Carrillo said the intel was good and that the Narcos were in fact meeting. "Ana.", Carrillo says to me and we shake hands. Then, he looks at Murphy. "I want you to meet our new DEA, Steve Murphy.", Javi says to Carrillo. "carne fresca." Fresh Meat. I smirk at Carrillo and nudge him.

We were in a hotel room getting shots of each of the Narcos that were arriving at the Hotel La Margaritas. Steve takes the photos, while me, Javier, and Carrillo look out observing. Carlos Lahder, The Ochoa Brothers, "Wolfman" Fernando Galeano, then, "Is that Gacha?", Javi says, making me look more to the entrance. "I've never seen him with other traffickers." "Probably because he never works well with others I've heard.", I say to Javi and Carrillo. And then, the man of the hour. Pablo Escobar with his cousin Gustavo. "There he is. Mr. Robin Hood himself.", I say and I hear Javi chuckle some to my left behind me, and nudges me, making me look up from my squatting position. He is smirking and we both look back out the window. "Get pictures of that fucker.", Carrillo says to Murphy.

It was hours after the hotel and we were waiting for Helena, Javi's informant. I sigh softly from the hood of the car I was sitting on. Sure, I don't fully trust the informants a lot. But It doesn't mean I want people to get hurt. Helena was late. And I was actually getting worried. Javi was already there with his pacing. "She should be here by now.", Javi says, turning back to us. "Think she slipped?", Murphy asks. "No, she's no dummy.", Javi says and I do believe him. Hell, being a call girl or whatever you call yourself and dealing with those kinds of men even if you aren't working with cops...it's scary. Carrillo sighs, making me look at him. "Maybe she's getting pretty for you." I sigh and turn my head away. "Yeah.", I hear Javi and I slide off the hood and walk to the side of the car, leaning on it. I hear Carrillo check in with his people if they saw Helena. My head just wonders. "They're telling me that the girl left a long time ago.", Carrillo says, making me look over. "She's already dead." "No, they wouldn't kill her at the hotel.", Javi is right, god I didn't wanna think about it tho. "Then, they killed her somewhere else. She knew the risks.", Carrillo says and I close my eyes. Helena I hope you're okay. "If we go back, we go back now.", Murphy says and I see Javi nod. Then, he walks to Carrillo, "Quiero que la encuentres." I want you to find her "Puedo comprar un sicario. Te parece bien?" I can pick up a sicario. You ok with that? "Me voy." I'm going "yo también" Me too. I cut into Javi and Carrillo's conversation. Javi looks at me but I look back with a ‘Don’t even try’ look "¿Qué hay de Carne Fresca?" What about Fresh Meat? "Gonna stick around here and see if she shows up, OK?", Javi answers and points at Murphy and I tap his back going around and follow Javi and Carrillo. "Yeah? And where are you going?" "Going to go look for her.", Javi answers Murphy and we leave.

We picked up a sicario, and tried getting information on where Helena could be. All we got were snot smartass remarks and the sic flirting with me. And, Carrillo didn't like that one bit. We didn't either. I might have gotten a punch in for him even trying with me. I walked back to Javi and saw him smirk, “Nice punch.” “Thank you.”, I responded to Javi and the Sic still wasn’t talking. So, Carrillo brought out the bag, suffocating the Sic. I stood by Javi and watched. Carrillo then gave his guy the okay and took the bag back off. Pulling his head up by his hair. "¿Dónde está la hembra, huevón?" Where is the girl asshole? "No lo sé" I don't know. Carrillo then shoves his head, "Ahóguelo" Choke Him. And Carrillo's guy got back putting the bag over his head. Then, he told us where. And we rushed to the car... after Carrillo's guy shot him in the head.

We got to the place and made our way in quietly. Carrillo's guys take out the guards first. And then, we went loud as we got upstairs, shooting any guy who got in our way. We walked in and I saw Javi shoot someone to his side, as I am behind him, I fully walk in...and there she is. "Helena", I hear Javi as he covers her up with his vest. She has cuts all over her...and I can't imagine what else was done. I sigh and look down as I put my arms down. Damn it. Javi picks Helena up and walks out past me, and I look at him until I can't see him anymore. More than one of us are definitely not okay tonight.

Javi carried Helena out and after a while of waiting the ambulance and cops arrived. I spoke to Helena while we were waiting, telling her it's gonna be okay in Spanish. And, when they took her away, I couldn't move. I just sat where I was. Then, Javi and Carrillo came back to where I was as we waited for Murphy. "Bell.", I hear Javi making me look up. "You okay?" I nod slowly, "Yeah.", I say then looking back down. "How is she?", I hear Murphy, but don’t move. "Sedated.", Javi says after taking a drag of his cigarette. "Is she gonna be ok?" "Physically, yeah. Mentally, I haven't got a fucking clue.", Javi answers and I take a breath and stretch, looking to them. "You left me behind on purpose." "Look-" "If we are gonna be partners, I don't get left behind.", Steve says and I look back. He is looking in-between me and Javi. "I didn't come all the way down here Peña to sit on the fucking sidelines. Whatever is going on here, I'm in all the way. Is that understood?", Steve says staring at Javi. I nod to him. "Understood.", Javi answers. "I hope you know what that means.", Javi says as he hands Murphy a beer and then one to me.

A day later, me and Murphy were looking at the pin board, our layout of the cartel we set up. Leading up to Pablo. I see a figure coming in from my side vision making me look, Javi walks in staring at the board. "Welcome to the Medellín Cartel.", Murphy says, making me smirk at Javi. He smirks back and walks in, marking out some of the people. We look at each other and then back to the board. This was just the beginning of something big.

Answer: Media and information literacy enables people to interpret and make informed judgments as users of information and media, as well as to become skillful creators and producers of information and media messages in their own right. MIL combines media literacy and information literacy under one term, and includes a combination of competencies. Media literacy emphasizes the ability to understand media functions, evaluate how they are performed and use them for self-expression, while information literacy emphasizes the importance of access to information and the evaluation and ethical use of such information.

It recognizes the primary role of information and media in our everyday lives. It focuses on the freedom of expression and information since it empowers citizens to understand the functions of media and other information providers, to evaluate their content, and to make informed criticism as users and producer of information and media content. Information Literacy and Media Literacy are traditionally seen as separate fields.

1. What other characteristics of being media and information literate can you think of? Make a checklist of an ideal media and information literate person that you want to be.

Answer: I think a media literate person is someone with an open mind, someone willing to listen to every side of an issue. This doesn’t mean he/she has to have such an open mind that his/her brains fall out. Some ideas and positions make sense to an intelligent person and some do not. And it’s up to you to discriminate between truths and falsehoods. A media literate person is someone who READS a diverse number of publications and entertains many different points of view. I recommend the website, Real Clear Politics which everyday links readers to something like 15 different articles which express both liberal and conservative points of view.

•Determine the extent of information needed.

•Access the needed information effectively and efficiently.

•Evaluate information and its sources critically.

•Incorporate selected information into one’s knowledge base.

•Use information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose.

•Understand the economic, legal, and social issues surrounding the use of information, and access and use information ethically and legally.

2. What rules do you think you should live by to become a responsible media user?

Answer: Social media is often viewed as a blessing and a curse. Thoughts photos and videos are shared instantly and widely friends, family and complete strangers receive posts within seconds. In recent news, we’ve discovered lingering or residual effects in which past posts typically those posted in haste negatively impact young people seeking employment or educational opportunities. Have college applicants lost offers of admission or scholarship money due to social media posts they made when they were much younger. Experts in social media know that your profile is your brand and therefore it must be managed. People can learn a great deal of information about you through social media based on patterns of what you say, what you like and what articles and videos you enjoy. Given the fluidity of social media, refreshers on how best to separate our personal and private information benefit each of us. Here are a few tips and reminders to manage your social profile online responsibly and well.

• Own your image, personal information and how these are used.

Pay close attention to the Terms of Use on apps and websites. Most people skim through them to accept immediately, but it’s wise to take a closer look and read all the sections thoroughly. In some situations, you can opt out of automatic facial recognition tags.

• Obtain permissions

When posting videos or images of others on your networks. Never take photos of patients during procedures without permission.

• Scrub your accounts.

Posting to social media leaves an imprint. Delete anything that’s irrelevant, embarrassing or disrespectful. That includes inactive accounts. If you don’t want the entire world to see you in a compromising position, delete it. Reflect seriously on what you post before you post it; if you wouldn’t want to see it on the front page of the newspaper, or you wouldn’t want your family to see it, do not post it.

• Password diligence.

Update passwords frequently. Keep an eye on any dormant accounts if you decide not to delete them. Inactive accounts are prone to hackers.

• Spread love, not hate.

Share uplifting or positive posts in support of causes, subjects and persons you care about.

3. How would you put into actualization the ideas of being a media literate individual? Being an information literate?

Answer: The word literacy usually describes the ability to read and write. Reading literacy and media literacy have a lot in common. Reading starts with recognizing letters pretty soon. Readers can identify words and most importantly, understand what those words mean. Readers then become writers with more experience. Readers and writers develop strong literacy skills. Media literacy is the ability to identify different types of media and understand the messages they're sending. Kids take in a huge amount of information from a wide array of sources, far beyond the traditional media (TV, radio, newspapers, and magazines) of most parents youth. There are text messages, memes, viral videos, social media, video games, advertising, and more. But all media shares one thing, someone created in it and it was created for a reason. Understanding that reason is the basis of media literacy. Learn how to use movies and TV to teach media literacy. The digital age has made it easy for anyone to create media. We don't always know who created something, why they made it, and whether it's credible. This makes media literacy tricky to learn and teach. Nonetheless, media literacy is an essential skill in the digital age.

• Learn to think critically.

As kids evaluate media they decide whether the messages make sense. Why certain information was included, what wasn't included, and what the key ideas are. They learn to use examples to support their opinions then they can make up their own minds about the information based on knowledge they already have.

• Become a smart consumer of products and information.

Media literacy helps kids learn how to determine whether something is credible It also helps them determine the persuasive intent of advertising and resist the techniques marketers use to sell products.

• Recognize point of view. Every creator has a perspective.

Identifying an author's point of view helps kids appreciate different perspectives. It also helps put information in the context of what they already know or think they know.

• Create media responsibly.

Recognizing your own point of view, saying what you want to say how you want to say it and understanding that your messages have an impact is key to effective communication.

• Identify the role of media in our culture.

From celebrity gossip to magazine covers to memes, media is telling us something shaping our understanding of the world, and even compelling us to act or think in certain ways.

• Understand the author's goal.

What does the author want you to take away from a piece of media? Is it purely informative, is it trying to change your mind, or is it introducing you to new ideas you've never heard of?. When kids understand what type of influence something has they can make informed choices.

4. How does being an information literate made an impact in your life as a Licean? Do you think the university core values have helped you in the thorough understanding of these concepts?

Answer: For me the impact as an licean, it will makes me help to do something that i known to the knowledge that i read different janras of books or info that I'd have read to the social media like Google, Facebook, YouTube and more. Because its really gives me a hint of big help to my-self as an licean students. As a students that they have to learn and learn more as long as you've or we've got to know different information and gain more knowledge that in our brain, and thats brain is called a library critical thinking thoughts for me. That's why in every details that it comes our mind is a blessing because while you live in this world you need to know more a different knowledge because the knowledge is power and if you don't have the power of knowledge, then while you live in this world your life isn't called a none or null details information brain live human.

Yes, it's very big yes. Because the university of school in every school is very accommodating because they teach the students the way they wanted to know about what is this or what is that about something to will you improve in physical or mental development as an responsible students. The university of different or every school is that they wanted to the students is will know about core values like: loyalty, integrity, discipline and obedience because the way that they'll have this type of core values the students is more to be a better person in the future.
