the guy may have gone mad, but you can't deny his dedication to help kiryu relearn his fight. sure his way of doing this is clutching the guy in every corner and forcing him to fight brutally, but cmonnnnn, it's visual learning. that's what they do to montessori children as well

i have many other reasons to put him up as a sexyman, but i suggest you to do your own research (play the YAKUZA SERIES bc while majima is really cool, there are other cool characters) bc the games are SO COOL and it's really cool to see our guy in action

ever think about the fact that nishiki largely spiraled the way he did because of being considered incompetent and unfavorable in comparison to kiryu by everyone important in his life, and thus was constantly neglected and forgotten about. and then think about how the bomb would never have had to go off if kiryu and/or yumi just paid literally any attention to him after the showdown. talked to him. helped him to his feet. kept an eye on him. anything. instead of more or less forgetting he was there and allowing him the opportunity to do what he did. do you ever think about that. i sure do
#there is. no conversation between kiryu and nishiki after they fight. at all.#which is. well#I don’t blame nishiki too much for going jokermode there because uh. yeah. ouch#all of this was supposed to be about him. the showdown was supposed to be about him and kiryu#and kiryu just ignored him and talked to yumi instead like he wasn’t even there- let alone the focal point for All Of This#anyway yeah having them not fucking talk to each other there and focusing on the pointless and Bad attempt at a love story was just#flat out bad writing#because it’s not in character at fucking All for kiryu both due to who he is as a person and- more importantly- the relationship they built#beteeen him and nishiki in y0. like. how fucking close they were. like yumi had literally nothing to do with anything here#they were literally basically codependent and hadn’t lived their lives apart ever for the most part up until the sentencing#and they just sorta. gloss over that. in favor of yumi. who we know nothing about and have no development with and no dynamic in place with#her and either of them or anything#it’s#anyway#I need to stop bsnchdjmfd#nishiki#yakuza kiwami#yakuza kiwami spoilers#akira nishikiyama#rgg#yakuza#rambling

yo karaoke in kiwami is depressing as fuck.
like look at this:
sitting all alone in a fancy room, with an computer voice singing. or, just standing in an empty room, all alone, singing with no audience. now im sure this also reflects the change in karaoke establishments irl from like 1988 to 2005, but you can also read into it that it reflects kiryu's situation.
kiryu's an ex-convict, which are heavily stigmatised in a lot of countries and societies. ten years in the joint prison have detached him from the world outside and he probably at least somewhat feels like an alien, an intruder on a world that isn't his.
yes, this is also me getting very emotional over "Tonight" I looked up the translation of the lyrics and it fucking made me cry. just imagine kiryu pre-show down, singing this, hoping in his heart that everything will be okay. that nishiki will come meet him and change back into the nishiki he remembers. then, kiryu post-show down, singing this again, that hope now nothing more but a wishful fantasy that will never become reality because nishiki is dead. Both the nishiki he knew from 88 and the nishiki of 2005.
especially contrasted against y0:

like when you compare these two pictures, these two scenarios... kiwami is just fucking sad, dude. like, karaoke is prob my favourite minigame but not in kiwami. in kiwami, it just feels miserable. just kiryu all alone in this very private room.
