Hi, so this is relating to ur earlier post WAY back that i wanted to reply to but just forgot lol.
anyway it was the one about how stating that a certain part in a fanfic was 'unnecessary' is pointless, and i just wanted to let you know how much i agree (the post i'm talking about is linked here btw)
like, i'll write a part in my story and think 'wait, it would be so much fun to write about x' and so i branch off my planning and add that in, and i actually have had comments that are like 'u didn't need to put x in here' or 'x is unnecessary to the story' and it angers me every time because no. its. not.
i'm writing this story for ME which means if i want to write this part then its necessary. like, it genuinely upsets me so much when i write this fun little thing and people are like 'why did you write it?' 'what does it do for the story?' it makes ME happy okay? and if i want to write it then i'll write it and it literally shouldn't affect u bc its just an extra scene about two characters being fluffy with each other or something
anyway just wanted to let you know I really appreciated that post because i related to it a lot and was happy to know that others understood why saying something is 'unnecessary' in fanfics is stupid.
people will literally go to the "transformative works written as a hobby" website with their "original fiction written as a job" goggles on.....babe take those OFF!!!!
