so i don't know if it made the news elsewhere, but yesterday morning a man driving a city bus rammed into a daycare centre, on purpose, killing two children and injuring many others. and since we rarely get these kind of tragedies here - it's been on the news pretty much constantly since yesterday. I mean it’s good that it’s rare. But Quebec often feels like a very close community, for better and for worse, and when something like this happens the entire province feels it like it’s personal. Idk if that makes sense.
i'm not going to to into details and witness accounts, since they're easily found online but this hits. so close to home. scarily so. I've spent the day thinking about how my daughter's daycare is on a street corner, with a bus stop right in front of it, and her classroom windows is on the parking next to the street - I know I can't live my life with this fear and thankfully with the treatment I'm getting I can stop these thoughts before they become intrusive, but it's still shocking, and heart breaking, and it's impossible not to put myself in the affected parents' place.
I feel like every parent in the province feels it very much at this time. the fact that these kids are my daughter's age.... yeah. she's my little sunshine baby. and I know these children were their parents' too. I can't even begin to imagine the pain.
