In Wrath of Khan, Spock gifts Kirk "A Tale of Two Cities" in an actual physical copy of the book [very vintage for the 23rd century].
THAT GOT ME THINKING-
How many times did Spock gift Kirk a physical book? Did he restlessly scour for hours trying to find an old copy of a book that he knew Kirk would adore?
I can only imagine Spock, a logical and very composed Vulcan, going slightly insane trying to find bound books just so he can see his captain light up with a smile as Spock gifts it to him.
Which- might I add- is an adorable picture to paint in one's head.
I understand that Kirk and Spock weren't initially formulated with the specific intention of them becoming a "couple" But WHY DID THEY ACTIVELY MAKE THAT SHIT SO FUCKING ROMANTIC
this picture always sends me the fuck into orbit because how in the convoluted hell would shooting jfk stop khan? love that this implies khan wanting to save jfk from assassination in the first place lmao. and why did spock specifically have to shoot the president???
“to accept there was only a single shooter on that day is not a logical avenue of thought Captain. As you are well aware I am required to assume my position at the grassy knoll if khan is to be defeated. On this occasion you must not get in my way jim.”
When he gets older, James Kirk has to use reading glasses. This isn’t an unusual thing, eyesight is normally one of the first real casualties of age. But Jim doesn’t like to be seen with his glasses. He’s embarrassed of this visual sign of aging because he was Starfleet’s golden boy BECAUSE he was the youngest person to become captain at that time. Admiralty is another sign of aging and the passage of time that Jim resents.
Who is he when he’s not Starfleet’s poster child? Does he know? Did he ever figure it out? He seems like the kind of person who never expected to make it past 25 (which is fair considering what he went through). He spends all of Wrath of Khan with this fear of aging hanging over his head and then Spock dies and what does Jim say?
Who's your star trek underrated duo, because I'm still sore about Dr David and Saavik.
Spock's best student and Kirk's nerd son?!! Adorable! Incredible!
They're both such Jocks but also Giant Nerds, both on and off the curly hair regime.
She's on the command path and he's a famed (slightly disgraced) scientist?!! They're made to be Kirk and spocks next generation, that's a captain and science officer right there.
I want to see her epic path to admiral with this absolute goof telling her biology facts while she fights klingons
