Just watched the search for spock again for the first time in a while, and maybe I’m just a bit emotional rn but omfg dude. :( the whole “oops i came back wrong, sorry i died, sorry i dont remember you right” thing is poignant as fuck. And everyone is just happy to have him back. I fully believe spock got ship of theseused there and i dont think post genesis spock is the same guy. I feel bad for him. I know he is still Spock but it must be very discombobulating. :( and hes just like “I Need To Get My Marbles Back so i can be this guy correctly STAT”. But egeryone already loveshim:(
if you can watch 'The Search For Spock' (even without having seen the rest of Star Trek) and not conclude, at the end, that you've just watched a romance epic, then there is something wrong with your media literacy that I can't even wrap my head around
When I was checking out at the comic shop one of the cashiers noticed my Star Trek shirt and asked my favorite captain and we started talking about it. And the other cashier was like "I never got into Star Trek. One of my friends tried to get me into it, but it was this weird movie where Spock was dead but alive and in a cave," and the first cashier and I were like "... why would they start you, first of all, on a movie at all, but more importantly, on the third movie???"
The Galileo Seven happens to be one of my favourite star trek tos episodes...wanna know why... because we got this fucking image
"Good lord, another dead...we seem to be in a pickle"
SPOCK
S P O C K
But also because we got Dr McCoy wearing bright blue eyeshadow but that's besides the point. The point is, they say Spock is a stone cold, Vulcan calculator man, but in reality he's a half human sassy dipshit, who's like a dad, who accidentally left his kids unattended for like 5 minutes.
