It's been a while. I miss these posts :(

hiiiii i have returned from the depths of the underworld (self imposed hiatus) (3 week break that felt like 3 years)

officially one more week of rotations before I am officially done with my clinical year of vet school (4 more shifts from next Monday-Thursday). 27 days until graduation. approximately 2 weeks until NAVLE scores are released and I find out if I passed and got my license or failed and have to retake the exam again in November.

so many ups and downs have happened over the last few weeks. so many high highs and low lows. some of the best days of my life and some of the most stressful moments. everything has just been so surreal and overwhelming

HI EVERYONE monday and tuesday are going to be my exam days so once those are over I'll be back to being active here and continue working on everyone's commissions 💚 this is just an announcement to keep everyone posted~ I'll respond to any unreplied messages soon, just give me time!

also, happy birthday to my fellow october celebrants! i'm aware that there's a lot of october mutuals here but i don't want to contact everyone to greet them especially if it's late so here's a generalized one 🎂 cheers to more years to come!

Devlog 1:

Hello!

It's Saturday, and that means it's time for a devlog post (even though I posted one yesterday).

A lot of this week's work has been spent on getting the devlog along with other stuff up and running. Thank goodness all that is over with!

I've been working on polishing up the sprites for the 5th enemy in the Yokai Forest, the Yurei! For a bit of background, the Yurei is a yokai that is essentially a vengeful spirit that is sometimes accompanied by will-o-wisps. The Yurei seems passive when the player approaches it but can quickly become a dangerous enemy when provoked.

Here are some gifs of the animations that I've been working on. Still need to animate the will-o-wisps on the attacking sprite. The Yurei also has a 2nd, much more devastating attack that I'm still working on. I hope to show it off next week! I'm also working on updates for the player attack system to make it a bit faster paced.

It's so weird, because That's Not a Real Person, but I've spent so much time on him... reading about him and writing about him, that I just can't help but cry over his fate. Another fake out death will be bad from a writer's POV, but I can't get through losing my beloved character...

you really said it, you really put it to words. i don’t want his death to be used for shock value again but it’s too sad knowing this is his fate after everything

i want to give horikoshi credit as a writer but @/chonideno said on twitter something along the lines of “if this is used as fuel for deku to punch shigaraki really hard and save the day then printing this story was a waste of paper” and i completely agree. the only way i can see this fitting well into some grander narrative is if deku sees bkg lying there and immediately stops fighting. honestly a big part of why i stopped reading each and every chapter around my villain academia was bc i started feeling gross abt how horikoshi was painstakingly humanizing the villains and showing the discrimination that hero society fuels while keeping the grander narrative still very pro-hero (lol). society turned on UA after bkg was kidnapped and rescued unharmed. if this is real please let it change something
