Sculptor Ruth Vodicka welds a steel piece at the Sculpture Center, ca. 1955. Vodicka and her work were featured in the Sept. 10, 1956 edition of Life magazine in advance of her first solo exhibition.⁠

According to Life, Vodicka set up her studio in a New York garage in 1953 and impressed onlookers with both her creative talents and welding skills. Her dexterity with torch and rod soon brought in repair requests for everything from sewing machines to automobile panels. This new sideline brought in money and materials she used to support her own practice. ⁠

I would love to know more about Elvis’s relationships/affairs with the actresses who starred in his movies. Many of them were close in age to him too but they’re rarely discussed except for like Ann Margret.

I do think Ann Margret is particularly special, therefore talked about more, but I totally agree that his other leading ladies/costars deserve some love also !! <3

and while Shelley Fabares and Nancy Sinatra both deny ever having a romantic relationship with him, I know that Elvis had a massive crush on Shelley (who played his leading lady more than anyone else) and there were definitely mutual feelings between him and Nancy 👀

and another girl that’s rarely talked about (who worked behind the camera as a wardrobe consultant) was the beautiful Nancy Sharp!! Elvis was very serious about her and he even flew to Missouri to meet her parents

Raised a safety concern about a job at work only for my supervisor to say “just let one of the boys do it.”

Because as we all know, the presence of a penis makes one immune to shoulder injuries.

Got fired from my welding job for "not knowing how to weld" when they had me being a glorified maid fir 3 months.

Went to another shop. Got offered doudle on the spot after a weld test.
