A detail I like about Wolfenstein: New Order is that at the Nazi super duper air and space research facility, they have a big statue out front, and instead of making it another instance of Deathshead, their nazi super scientist OC do not steal, they used Werner Von Braun, actual real life nazi super scientist (comparatively) who famously finagled his way out of getting charged for war-crimes by agreeing to help the americans with their war-crimes space program I mean space program, the success of which earned him quite a lot of contemporary praise and good press. The man was featured in freaking DISNEY.

I just really like the commentary of a man greatly praised in America during the 50s and 60s, receiving the same honors in the Nazi-victory timeline of the same era because he never had a reason to stop being a nazi.

The part at the end of Wolfenstein New Order where your friend has been kept alive for 20 years as a brain in a jar following their brutal vivisection and the first things they tell you after being used to power a murderous robot are “This is a nightmare, I tried my best not to hurt you, I’m sorry.”

In a way, it's great that modern Wolfenstein games include dual weilding.

This image alone makes it seem like BJ was destined to carry 2 guns at once.

But here's a crazy idea:

You know the mutants, who have an extra arm wielding a gun?

The UBERmutant from Spear of Destiny, who has a chaingun in his chest?

How BJ can become a mutant if he loses against Dr Schabbs?

The mere fact that some classic FPS games put the guns in the middle while the later standard became to put guns in the right side?

Imagine BJ as a mutant but playable, so you can TRIPLE wield: 2 guns carried by his hands and an extra gun in his chest.

Like a weird spin-off idea (OR... OR... as an homage to Quake 4's Stroggification sequence) where BJ becomes a mutant but still has his consciousness and keeps fighting while gaining new abilities.

Okay, can I fanboy a little about this Wolfenstein ost?

Like, how it starts so aggressively; like you're reacting for the first time to this gigantic thing, this new superpower. It just radiates "massiveness". Then, how it starts to slow down, like your thoughts are clearing up from the initial shock. How there's despair. Despair that the world as you knew it is gone, replaced by such a terrible dictatorship. Yet, it doesn't give the feeling that it's over. There's still a part of you that wants to fight. Fight back. Quietly, yet steadily, the song continues; Telling you to get your shit together and form a plan to make sure the future citizens of the world won't experience what you're experiencing. All without saying a single word.

I don't think any other song gave me this feeling, honestly. To just be in awe of a song to write a paragraph about it (and I'm most likely reaching incredibly hard). And I think it's… astonishing, really. To be feeling such things with just a simple videogame track is an artistry.

In "Wolfenstein: The New Order," BJ manages to kill the first Nazi in the asylum because Anya brought him a hot home-cooked meal. The love that she and her parents had for their fellow man, regardless of disability, regardless of health, weaponized BJ. Their kindness literally gave him the tools to fight again.

I'm very touched by that.
