3. a fic that sold me on a character or ship
okay it was absolutely one of the fics from cyndakip's price of perfection series but i can't remember which one so i'm just linking the first one and you can read them until you fall in love with polkadot patterson like i did. no but seriously like these were some of the first blaseball fics i ever read and they were sooo formative for me i very nearly became a moist talker. i was SO distressed when dot got alternated and its all because of this fic. cynda if youre reading this you are so cool :)
13. my favorite fic about incineration
oh theres so much. i seriously considered putting down selenography because even though bright doesnt get incinerated yet its so about incineration (go read selenography guys) (i'll find a way to plug it eventually dw). but in the end im going with on the death of a teammate, by my friend kite, which is exactly what it says. its about the short circuits mills and a team's first incineration, before any of it is remotely normal, and its just so harshly real its fantastic
23. my favorite fic about the vault
hmmmm theres a lot of really great ones out there (including one that i really really want to find a way to show later) but i think i'm gonna plug the real treasure of the vault was the friends we made along the way, or whatever by my friend ducky!!!! mostly its about wyatt mason ivy and parker macmillan but theres some top tier Vault Moments in there. vault as a sentient thing that isnt trying to be malicious but definitely isnt human my beloved.

Today marked Izuku's birthday, and upholding the age-old tradition from his childhood, his mom, Inko, took him to his favorite bakery to choose a cake. It was a cherished ritual in their household – Inko allowed him to pick his desired dessert, adorned the house with his favorite All Might decorations, and then you would join in to celebrate after an enthusiastic session with his action figures. Despite being a teenager now, Izuku still found joy in these moments. However, this year was different; you weren't there to share the celebration with him as you had in the old days.
He missed you dearly.
—She hasn't called yet. Do you think she's busy?— Izuku mumbled as he tapped on the glass case protecting the delectable pastries. —I know it's a different timezone, but...—
Inko offered him a sympathetic smile and comforted him with gentle circles on his back. It had been a year since you left to study abroad, leaving your friends behind to chase after your dreams. Izuku was feeling lonely without you, missing the sound of your voice and how you'd smile whenever he cracked a silly joke.
Sure, he was able to face time you when you had time, but the occasions were rare and it made his heart twinge.
—I'm sure she'll remember, she's a good girl!— Inko reassured him, resting her head on his shoulder. —Why don't you take a closer look at the cakes, hmm?—
"I haven't had birthday cake without her, would it taste the same?" Izuku wondered. Squinting for a moment, he focused on the frosting decorations on each dessert. The first one was fairly simple, the second had delicate hearts, but the third one...
-Is that my face?— He asked, pointing at the childish drawing of himself resting on top of the white frosting. It looked like a 5 year old had attempted to draw on it. "It almost reminds me of..."
—Yes, it's specially for you!— Izuku heard his mom said, a mischievous smirk appearing on her chubby face as she pulled him a little to her level.
—Someone has a gift for you! —Inko cheered, playfully covering her son's eyes with a blindfold.
—Woah, mom, what? You have another gift for me?— He asked, amazed, a hearty laugh escaping his chest. —You didn't need to!
—But I know how much you missed this particular thing, so...— Inko said, guiding him to a nearby chair, making sure Izuku wouldn't triple with the walking costumers and close tables.
—Mom, you didn't have to, really!— Izuku assured, hearing his mom giggle as a set of footsteps became more audible.
—Izuku, your mom made a lot of effort to bring me here! Say thanks.
The familiar sound of your voice left Midoriya speechless, his hands shakily removing the blindfold. His green eyes watched mesmerized as you came out from behind the bakery counter, holding his cake on your hands.
—Y-you're here!
—Happy birthday, Izuku...— You congratulated, hugging the boy. —Wouldn't miss this for anything!

Whew so a lot happened in the last few days and I've been trying to get things together. Sorry y'all, I thought this was going to be the end of a very dark two years for a lot of us.
Tl;dr: Despite our best efforts the mods have decided that not hurting the feelings of toxic actors in their community is their #1 priority.
Frankly, considering all of the death threats they got for trying to enforce the rules of their server, specifically these two rules...
... I'm not really surprised that things have turned out this way. When you have mods encouraging further harassment and spitting some really scary rhetoric with 0 self awareness (I have an entire thing I could go into with this, holy fuck it's bad) then some day you're going to turn around and find that your whole community is rotten to the core when someone finally tries to step up and purge the toxicity.
And that's exactly what happened.
"Happy lynching." Classy. I really hope you're not American and you just don't understand the history behind that word. And guillotine threats. Lovely. The absolute irony of someone going "woah hey guys no death threats" and then proceeding to send a guillotine death threat.
To be clear all of these conversations happened on the same day, the timestamps are slightly different because I got these from a few different sources who are all in different timezones. I put them in chronological order in this post.
I'm sorry to all of the moderators that genuinely seemed like they wanted to hash this out and put it all behind us. You don't deserve this kind of backlash for just trying to do your jobs. I wish you luck, because clearly you're going to need it.
I'm asking that if anyone posts screenshots of the server that you censor out the names of people who aren't directly engaging in harassment. Other than that, it appears we're going to have to keep bringing light to this in order to protect ourselves from harassment, since the mods refuse to hold themselves accountable and enforce their rules.

I love seeing a mutual halfway across the planet show up in the notes, like, beyond just "woah cool person" and "haha timezones" I mean. It kinda just reminds me of how much is going on in the world outside of me? In my apartment complex alone there's 50 people, each with their own thoughts and feelings and problems and interests and so on. That's a lot of life in a very small space.
And I seeing someone so far away brush past in the notes is just... it's such a small thing. Maybe they woke up recently and just checked their phone, maybe it's while they're getting breakfast or something. I don't know. But that moment of "Oh, guess they're online now" becomes this ephemeral glimpse of something otherwise invisible to me. Then I think about that for all my mutuals and friends, and then how many billions of people I don't have a window into.
I dunno, I'm feelin' poetic, but to my mutuals in distant timezones? Howdy o7, all the way from 'merica
