"The Seed"
I can work on the show and still call myself a fan, right? I hope so! I wanted to draw a little something as a tribute to the time I’ve gotten to spend working with the amazing Wingfeather team. I can’t express what a blessed experience it was for me. The imposter syndrome was very real haha.
I chose to paint Janner because, as a character, he means a lot to me (if that's not obvious). I never expected to relate to him as much as I did while reading the books — if you know the story, you know that’s both comforting and convicting. These characters and this world have so much heart, I’m incredibly grateful that I got to play even the smallest part in bringing them to the screen :).

Hey all! So if you didn't see it yesterday there is a new Wingfeather trailer for season 2! It's pretty epic!
There's also a new season 2 poster in their shop, and since it has Peet on it I bought it immediately even though I really don't have extra money to spend this week. xD It also has what I think is the first official/finished look at Maraly?!? (the character, not my kitten) As well as the Fork Factory, Claxton Weaver and the Overseer. 👀👀

Season 2 covers the first half of book 2 and is releasing sometime this year!

For the seven characters ask: Eanrin and Dame Imraldera (Goldstone Wood); Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli (LotR); Artham (Wingfeather Saga); and The Golux (The 13 Clocks)
You do realize that I want to put about half of these for #7, right? You realize what you have done to me? Ok, let's go —
Go grocery shopping with: Legolas. I have no good explanation; I just feel like it would be fun and possibly amusing.
Have lunch with: Gimli; I am fueling a favorite theory of mine and introducing him to good barbecue.
Have coffee with: Eanrin. I am prying every story I can out of him, and I am also risking my own self-confidence by asking him to look at some of my own writing.
Go thrift shopping with: The Golux, because then something improbable and interesting will happen.
Explore a museum/art gallery/aquarium with: Imraldera. It's something different from her daily routine, but still on-brand for her.
Go the library/bookstore with: Artham; we're having a grand time making fun of the bad books (and bad poetry) and trading recommendations on the good stuff. I am also introducing him to the Tales of Goldstone Wood; I think some of it will resonate. (You'd think I would've said Imraldera, but let's be real; the woman spends ALL her time in the library. Let's let her do something else.)
Have as a plus-one at a wedding: Aragorn. (This came down to Aragorn vs. Eanrin, and in the end, Aragorn won because he can be counted upon to be Chivalrous.)

Sometimes a family is you, your brother, your sister, your mom, your grandpa… and the bookstore owner from your hometown who only speaks in quotes.

If I had a nickel for every time I got into a fandom where a kid discovers a mysterious journal that secretly belongs to his uncle that he doesn’t know he has, who’s been missing for years, but he only discovers that after finding the journal, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

“Sing the song of the ancient stones, and the blood of the beast imbues your bones.”
“You call that poetry?”
This moment is freaking epic, but on a lighter note: you can’t convince me Artham wasn’t the king of snappy one-liners back in the day

Wingfeather rant ahead
me, trying to watch the 2 minute “character evolution* video on Peet: *stops 49 seconds in* Chris why are you lying. Chris. CHRIS WHY ARE YOU LYING?!
For context, he said that Peet is currently a “liability” to the family because of his mental instability and that he might “spill who they are” and that’s why Podo and Nia are keeping him away from the kids. NO IT’S BECAUSE PODO’S GOT A GRUDGE HE WON’T LET GO AND UNTIL THE END OF BOOK 1 NIA GOES ALONG WITH IT FOR NO GOOD REASON.
If Peet was gonna accidentally say who the Wingfeathers were he would have done it already he’s been in town for FOUR YEARS. This is why we needed the BACKSTORY that book one has at the end of season one. I can’t believe they’re spreading this blatant misinformation about my boy. Peet would NEVER betray them and that is a fact. And he has only ever been a “liability” for the family when OTHER PEOPLE (*cough*HOLLOWSFOLK*cough*) made him one.
Edited to say what I have long believed: if it had been Esben who’d shown up in town talking nonsense with socks on his hands, Nia and Podo would have welcomed him back with open arms, “liability” or not.

"We were arguing about where to go, and he told me he didn't need me. He didn't want me, he didn't want any of this. He wanted to go home. Then he ran. I never saw Kalmar again. At least not the Kal I knew."

excuse me but the mental scars images created by 'cave paintings' WILL NOT leave me alone. [Spoilers through WatWK]
Artham and Esben, on opposite sides of the sea, both settled in facades of a home while pining for their family?? Artham high in the trees to escape the ground like a hawk and Esben deep in a forested cave like a hibernating bear entrenched in the fruits of Gnag's cruelty?? Both processing trauma and struggling to recall their past through the arts they were taught as Annierans?? Artham with his stacks and stacks of journals and Esben with wall upon wall of paintings??
