DOMESTIC/FUTURE RONANCE HEADCANONS <33
They’ve had their fair share of apartments; they first moved in together when they went to Emerson, then travelled around Europe, Asia and South America for a little before settling on the outskirts of Indianapolis when Nancy lands a secure job as a reporter (she gets to travel with work from time to time, which she loves)
When they’ve settled Robin becomes a middle-school teacher (she teaches French, Spanish, extra curricular mixed languages lessons and a few music lessons on the side - also helps to run band)
Their apartment in Indianapolis is the first place they actually own together, rather than renting a place or staying at a hostel, so they go crazy painting and decorating with lots of colour
Even though she prefers to sleep in, Robin loves to get up and make Nancy breakfast (sometimes she even brings it to her bed on a tray with a little flower)
They have a small balcony where they grow as many plants as they physically can, plus they have plenty of window box planters. Robin names all of their ‘plant babies’
They know each other’s coffee and tea recipes by heart; Robin likes her chai tea with a little milk and a spoonful of sugar and Nancy likes her coffee with cream and no sugar
Robin runs warm while Nancy runs cold; Nancy snatches us most of the blanket in bed while Robin cuddles up to her or splays like a starfish, letting Nancy rest her head on her chest
Steve bought them a ‘kiss the cook’ apron when they moved in and they use it as an excuse to steal kisses while they cook together
They have a spare room and couch bed for when the kids or friends want to stay over
Their next-door neighbour is a little old lady who bakes stuff for them
Robin gives free music lessons to kids in the apartment block
Nancy still keeps guns / weapons hidden around the house - she even has a handgun stashed under a floorboard in the bathroom
Nancy leaves early for work on weekdays, so Robin doesn’t tend to see her before work; Nancy leaves her notes on her empty pillow like ‘have a lovely day my darling, I love you always - N <3’
Robin’s students love Nancy; Robin always gushes about her partner when prompted by the kids, and even if in the beginning it’s a way for the kids to distract their teacher from giving them work, they begin to love hearing about who they assume is Ms. Buckley’s husband
Robin forgets her lunch one day and Nancy comes into her class and drops it off and gives Robin a kiss goodbye - the kids are shocked but they’re accepting <3
Nancy often falls asleep poring over her work at her desk, and always seems to wake up with a blanket thrown over her and a warm mug of tea or coffee waiting for her
If one of them has a particularly bad nightmare they’ll cozy up on the couch and watch a movie and listen to music
When they moved in, the first thing they got out was a record player that they keep in the kitchen; even when all of their stuff was in boxes, Robin dug out a record and danced with Nancy in the kitchen of their new home. They dance together in the kitchen at least once a week
There’s books strewn about everywhere in their apartment, over flowing bookshelves and scattered on tables, with notes sticking out of them and annotations scribbled on the pages
Robin and Nancy love lazy days in bed every once in a while, cuddling or reading or talking or just existing with each other

Fruity Four Headcanons
• all those fuckers are ND. Nancy, Robin and Eddie are autistic. Steve, Robin and Eddie have ADHD. Steve is dyslexic.
• they spend most of their time hanging out at family video when Steve and Robin have shifts. It drives Keith mad
• it wasn’t until after Vecna that Robin actually noticed Eddie’s bandanna in his back pocket and connected the dots. She pulls him aside one night and is like ‘cool hanky dude *wink wink*’ and it takes Eddie an hour before he just gasps and gives Robin a ‘holy shit you know’ look and she’s just like ‘hell yeah’
• ^ they become lil secret gay besties after that (before the rest of the group has their awakenings + comes out)
• they all try activities together and take turns who gets to pick each week.
• Wayne is the only one of the parents who knows that they’re all queer, and who’s dating who (Karen has her suspicions but doesn’t want to push)
• Eddie teaches Nancy how to play bass and she gets pretty damn good at it (Robin finds it very hot)
• Steve learns the drums, but also surprises the rest of the gang when he reveals he knows a some violin too (his parents forced him to do lessons from when he was 8 right up til 15) and he picks it up again after encouragement from the group
• Steve is HoH after all that head trauma, but he constantly forgets to put his hearing aids in so Robin keeps a spare pair on her at all times
• Nancy used to do ballet, and she can still dance pretty well (again, another reason for Robin to find Nancy so hot)
• in an effort to get stronger and be able to protect the kids and themselves more, Nancy, Robin and Steve become workout buddies. Eddie watches from the side as they struggle but joins them on runs
• if ever one of them travels somewhere, they bring back a badge or patch for Robin’s jacket and Eddie’s vest
• Robin and Steve ‘share pronouns’ (aka Steve hasn’t realised he’s genderfluid yet and Robin Goes With It)
• they all share clothes (bonus if they share with Argyle and Joanathan too (<3 Spicy Six))
• Robin and Eddie are all for pineapple on pizza. Steve is completely against it, and Nancy is impartial
• they’re all at least a little picky with food but they all can agree that pasta is great
• monopoly is banned from game night after The Incident
• Steve teaches Robin how to drive

Autistic Nancy Wheeler (+ autistic Robin) Headcanons because there needs to be more of them:
• One of Nancy’s favourite stims is flapping her hands
• Robin also likes to stim by flapping her hands so they hold each others’ hands and flap and wave together <3
• When Nancy was little and couldn’t speak, loud child Mike would speak for both of them, because he had a good understanding of her :)
• Nancy’s special interests are journalism, guns and literature
• She gets upset and overwhelmed when things are moved around in her room
• When she’s experiencing a meltdown or shutdown, pressure really helps. Usually Robin ends up holding her hand super tight or laying on her and hugging her
• Loud and sudden noises don’t really effect her too much, but she hates overlapping noise
• She gets really agitated when she goes into sensory overload - starts snapping at people for little things, biting the inside of her cheek, clenching her fists so hard she sometimes draws blood
• Nancy and Robin have an emergency sensory kit in their car - ear defenders, earplugs, things to chew on, tactile objects and fabrics, stim toys, sunglasses, cassettes and a Walkman
• One of Nancy’s safe foods is blueberry muffins. She and Robin bake them together all the time <3
• Nancy learns to cook all of Robin’s favourite foods and safe foods, and Robin does the same
• After Robin and Nancy had been dating for a little while and realised that they both often struggled with communication and going non-verbal, Nancy spent a whole day making communication cards that could be kept in their pockets :)

Thinking about Ronance getting a pet
They’re living in their first apartment together in Boston and Robin finds out that their apartment block is pet-friendly just under a month after they move in it’s non-stop “Nance, ohmygosh look how cute! We could totally handle [insert animal]!” Every time they walk past a pet store, or someone walking their dog, or when they see a cat in the street, or even when she sees pets in a movie.
Nancy is reluctant to get a pet for a number of reasons: pets are expensive, and they’re not making insane amounts of money with the part-time jobs they’re balancing with school; they plan to travel after school, that would be more difficult with a pet; she might be slightly allergic to cat fur.
But Nancy’s opinion changes when she finds a stray puppy out in the rain one night while she and Robin are out on a walk.
She hears rustling in an alleyway as they pass by, so Nancy, ever inquisitive, investigates. You can never be too careful after fighting inter-dimensional monsters, I guess. She finds the poor thing underneath the lid of a trash can, tiny, shivering and covered in muck.
She doesn’t hesitate to take off her scarf and wrap the little pup up in it; she and Robin rush home to look after her. They run the puppy a warm bath in their bathroom sink, she’s so small that she fits in it. Nancy rolls up her sleeves and ties her hair back and washes the puppy, and Robin swaddles her up in a towel like a little baby when she’s all clean (“look, Nance, we’re moms!”)
Robin runs to the convenience store down the street to get some dog food and a bowl for Puppy while Nancy calls the vets, cuddling the wrapped up little thing in her lap. When Robin gets back they both encourage the scared puppy to eat her food, trying to ease her nerves.
They go to the vets the next day and are informed that Puppy doesn’t have an owner. They offer to take her off their hands and send her to an animal adoption centre but Nance declines - to Robin’s surprise - and says they’ll look after her.
They spend the rest of the weekend buying stuff for Puppy; a cosy bed, toys, food, water bowl, leash and collar. When the staff member asks what name they want engraved on the dog tag, Robin is stumped, until Nancy blurts out, “Sunny,”
When Robin questions it when they’re walking back to the car, Nancy explains, “We found her when it was rainy, but it’s nice and sunny now, so I thought we could call her Sunny,”
Robin thinks the name is perfect, and in no time Sunny settles into her new home, causing the never ending argument of, “I thought you said yesterday was the last time we let Sunny sleep in our bed,” “She’s just a baby, she can sleep in our bed one more night,”
Sunny goes along with Nancy and Robin when they travel the world together, when they have their unofficial wedding, when they visit Lucas and Max in California, or Mike and Will in New York, or Joyce and Hop back in Hawkins. Robin and Nancy have tons of pictures of Sunny with everyone, dressed in silly costumes or souvenirs from their travels, from when she was a teensy little puppy to a fully grown dog.
Nancy was Right about pets: they were expensive; yeah, it’s difficult to travel with them and she’s definitely allergic to cat fur, but having a pet is so incredibly fun.

Some GNC Ronance for your thoughts:
• after their first semester at Emerson, Nancy cuts his hair short, but leaves the curls, and Robin finds them even more adorable
• Robin loves wearing ties and suspenders, they give them so much gender euphoria
• Nancy likes to style wide pants with belts and button ups, it makes her feel like a snazzy guy
• They have somewhat of a competition on growing out their body hair (Robin’s winning) but if it gets too competitive and one of them starts feeling down about it the other is quick to shower them with affirmations
• Nancy may or may not have made a couple appearances as a drag king (perhaps accompanied by Eddie in drag too)
• people at their workplace/school are eternally confused about Robin’s partner, as she never consistently refers to them as one thing (‘my boyfriend did this’ ‘my lover and I went on a date last night’ ‘Nance wore the most handsome suit last week, you should have seen her’
• Robin calling Nancy handsome :’)
• Robin getting an undercut
• Buff Nancy Buff Nancy Buff Nancy-
• Shorts being one of Nancy’s favourite things because they can be both masculine and feminine (and being kinda sad when winter comes around and she can’t exactly wear shorts anymore :( )
• they live in a pretty accepting apartment block, and they are affectionately referred to as ‘the shapeshifter sapphics’
• Nancy wearing Robin’s patch jacket and Robin wearing Nancy’s sweater vest
