Handmade in the West of Ireland It is a tactile piece, with weaving shades of copper, yellows, black and orange. Medium: Salvaged sourced 50-year-old Copper, Fully handcrafted by traditional metalworking techniques and Patina aging and finishing methods. No paint is used on the Copper medium the colours are achieved by exploiting the materials natural ability to self-oxidise. A new commission to start of the new year, the client wanted something of impact and on a large scale as it will be a centre piece for a large music room. I created a rough sizing template so the client would get a feel for it's size and form. It is a Hare and Blood Moon (medium copper on timber) which is taking shape, I am also delighted to have a transition art student with me for the next few weeks and we will complete this process together so he can see a commission from concept to completion.
