Have you ever stumbled upon a place that was simply amazing…so amazing that you could hardly wait to go back? For me, that place is Doris Campground at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma.
Located in southwestern Oklahoma, The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge has protected habitats since 1901. The refuge hosts a great diversity of plant, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians and assorted mammals. Its area of undisturbed mixed grass prairie make it an important conservation area. The Wichitas are approximately 500 million years old.
Description: For an unspecified amount of time, people in and around the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge claimed to have seen a strange creature called the Boar Man. He’s described as an 8ft man who wears pig-skin, carries boar tusks, and could transform into a massive boar.
At Lost Lake sits a small Easter Redbud tree that has a very special meaning to me. Three years ago, after the passing of my dad, I scattered his ashes all around the trunk of that tree. Dad always loved to fish there and other lakes surrounding the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge. So I visit as often as I'm able to take a few photos.
I just finished producing my 400th YouTube video! I recorded it at Doris Campground and Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. I'll be posting it later this week…
