Altan Vaude

Altan Vaude is the quiet, thoughtful, and gentlehearted son of Langris, nephew of Finral, cousin and best friend of Narah, and future heir to the House of Vaude in my "Future Problems" universe. Altan is soft-spoken, a bit pensive, and very meek, but he is also well-read, highly intelligent and strategic with a great gift for tactical and analytical reasoning. Though he can be a bit shy at times, he cares deeply about the feelings of others and is particularly devoted to his family and close friends.

Altan is a very kind and gentle person who genuinely wants to believe in people (perhaps takes after his Uncle Finral a bit in this way like his elder cousin, Lia, takes after his dad/her Uncle Langris). He is a sweet, thoughtful, and attentive, and he is very in-tune with other people's feelings (though it is more of a sensitivity and sympathy than an intuition). He is not much of a talker so giving advice doesn't come easily to him; however, he is a great listener and will sit with his loved ones as a supportive shoulder to cry on if they are ever feeling down.

Altan is naturally quiet--he is soft-spoken and is definitely the type who "uses up all of his words." He is also a bit shy, but he generally likes people and is not usually anxious socially. That said, he is the type of person who has a few very close friends rather than a large friend group. His best friend is his cousin, Narah, but he is also particularly good friends with Auguste Swallow (the son of his honorary "Uncle" David and "Aunt" Letoile) and Leopold Vermillion's son, Kfir.

Like his father, Altan is highly intelligent and strategic. He has a sharp tactical mind and a gift for analytical reasoning and problem solving. He also loves to learn new things and will read any book he can get his hands on. He learned to read early, but prior to that, he absolutely adored listening to his parents read to him. He spends a lot of time in House Vaude's library.

Besides the library, Altan's favourite place is outside in the gardens, and he has a particularly green thumb. His favourite things to grow are herbs and berries. Though once when he was very young, he was particularly attached to a crop of vegetables in the kitchen garden and was so worried when the weather turned unexpectedly cold that he and his father went outside late into the night to cover them with some old quilts to protect them from the frost.

Altan inherited the Vaude spatial magic, but it is defensive like his Uncle Finral's because his father's offensive spatial magic would not acclimate to his weaker and more delicate constitution. From the time Altan first presented with his magic, his father, Langris, made it abundantly clear that if anyone (read: Ledior and Liliane) made even a snide, underhanded remark about Altan's magic they would be promptly thrown out, and he has always been Altan's greatest defender. Altan learned how to wield his magic with help from his Uncle Finral and cousin Lia who are both defensive spatial mages. (Finral's daughter, Narah, who is an offensive spatial mage, was training with Langris at the same time).

Altan is close to all of his cousins (and they are particularly protective of him in a “this person is too good for this world so they deserve to be protected" kind of way). In many ways, they feel almost like siblings to him because they are so close to each other, and Altan was an only child for many years. He particularly looks up to his elder cousin Lia who often helps him practice his magic since they have the same defensive spatial attribute, and his younger cousin (by only a couple of months) Narah has always been his closest friend.

There is nothing Altan loves more than spending time with his family. Even when he was a little toddling thing, Little Bitty Altan would toddle into his father's study with a picture book and sit quietly next to his dad's chair or at his dad's feet under the desk flipping through the pages of his book just to be close to him. He doesn't have to be doing any sort of special activity with his loved ones--he really loves just being with them and enjoying their company. His favourite time of day is afternoon tea with his family especially when they weather was nice and they can take tea in the garden.

As a small child, Altan had an extensive collection of wooden blocks, and he and his father would spend hours building very elaborate structures out of them. He sometimes built cities out of them with his cousins, and Kalon would always bring out his tin magic knight figurines for them to play with as well. His little sister, Amaryllis, liked to build towers out of blocks, and, as he was taller than she was, he would often help her make her tower even taller when she could no longer reach the top to add more blocks.

Altan always wanted a younger sibling and could not have been more overjoyed when his little sister, Amaryllis, was born. He cares very deeply for her, and as the elder brother feels protective of her; however, as she is much more spirited and strong-willed than he is, she is often the one swooping in to protect him.

Like his Uncle Finral, Altan is a bit of a tea connoisseur, and it's an interest the two of them share. His uncle will often pick up unique, rare, or different flavors of tea to share with Altan, and he has taken him and Narah to several of his favourite tea shoppes throughout the Clover Kingdom.

What does elvis usually do for fun or peace of mind in terms of social or solitary entertainment or recreation ? And the last point about flower names is so cute :3 would you care to elaborate any more on it

elvis lovesss going to pubs and watching sportsball i think :) he likes the social aspect of it a lot. he prefers baseball over all else! he also likes bowling and pool and those types of stuff that can often overlap with pubs. angel is less enthusiastic about that kind of stuff but i watched a tiktok earlier where a husband makes sure to cover his partner's ears very casually when he knows everyone is about to go wild and i think that's something elvis and angel do. angel likes going out to pubs for the food and the social aspect too (pubs always have some variation of a safe food for her, so it lets her explore new stuff without too much stress) so that's their date nights a lot.

and omg ok so im gonna explain his logic behind the nicknames :)

dandelion (vinny, my oc): vinny has really curly fluffy blonde hair that reminds him of a dandelion. also vinny started going grey/white much younger than the rest of them and it reminds myers of a puffball.

clover (bill, cabinetkillerz' oc): bill's favorite color is green! and he's also very smart and myers thinks hes very lucky even if he doesnt think that of himself. also he's british and myers would say something about how "clover" just feels like a british thing

rosa (rubén, pupgendrz' oc): ruby and myers were best friends growing up!! ruby is dominican and his first language is spanish as well :) myers and he lost contact but got back together after a long time. in the universe where myers is with ruby, myers starts learning spanish again ^_^ (he never learned to speak it like he did english, but he understands it from james) for a long time myers just called ruby "ruby" because u know, like a gemstone & also they've had this casual romantic thing for a long time. but he starts calling him rosa like rose too :)

honeysuckle & pansy (emmett and richie, mickadamz' ocs): honeysuckle is the nickname for emmett!! emmett is very southern and also honey blonde, so it reminds myers of honeysuckle. it also just gets shortened to "honey" a lot but the feeling of it meaning honeysuckle is very unique for them. pansy is the semi-joke/semi-serious nickname for richie. richie is like. a very classic femme gay history teacher type. myers is mostly masc4masc but richie grew on him like ivy and they have a very teasing relationship w one another. so it makes sense he'd call him pansy.

Ill try and answer all of these for BNY ^^; Let's see here...

😨 FEARFUL - when scared, do they go into "flight" or "fight"?

Bny rarely gets "startled", as their sensor arrays make it hard for anything to sneak up on them, even at night. Rather, bny feels more often the slow, anxious fear-usually when around strangers, or when paranoia begins to set in. In cases like this, they do feel the strong urge to leave the situation by any means possible.

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

BNY's greatest wish would be to discover the truth about their past. From their perspective, they know next to nothing about when, where, and why they were created. The only thing that was given to them was a set of coordinates, near the center of the galaxy... Such a mystery eats at them, and they would give anything to solve it, even if the people around them don't want them to succeed.

🌋 VOLCANO - how bad is their temper? is it a slow boil, or a instant explosion?

Their temper seems to be burning at both ends as of late. The inhabitants of their new home planet have a history of mechas being used against them as a policing force for the upper class, so brutal in their ways that children today steer clear of the rusted corpses of mechanical behemoths that lie in fields. This causes many to treat Bny as a bad actor, or even something to be afraid of. Over time the sentiment improves as they put in the work to earn their stay, but the de-humanizing verbiage used against them daily grinds their gears to no end.

🍀 CLOVER - do they believe in luck? are they lucky?

Is it lucky that they fell from the sky when they did, right when some kids were looking out their window as that streak of fire blazed across the sky? Or was it lucky that they survived at all, their thermal shielding failing in only non-essential areas? Luck is the death of statistical explanation, the bandage over a wound of unfathomable probability. And when the gods came, it took all certainty away from numbers, their paracausal acts defying even the core rules of the universe. An act of god may be considered fortunate, but not because god intends for it to be. Numbers calculate chance. Luck is leaving it up to chance. Gods don't leave anything up to chance. Bny doesn't believe in anything.

✏️ PENCIL - is there a particular quote / lyric that you associate with them?

🔫 PISTOL - do they trust people easily? how easily will they turn their back to someone? have they been backstabbed before? will they betray someone if given an ultimatum?

BNY doesn't trust easily, but if you intrigue them enough you may find yourself in their company. There were a few times where their trust was betrayed, including a time where someone left them for dead inside a laboratory filled with giant robot guard dogs! If given an ultimatum, they'd most likely try and resolve the problem a third, special way that almost gets everyone killed.

🌟 GLOWING STAR - what do they think about when they look at the night sky? is there someone they want to star gaze with?

On a clear night, you can see almost every star in the sky. BNY wonders if any of them could be their original home planet. They don't like to think about it for very long. Their favorite nights are the cloudy, stormy ones.

☄️ COMET - what do people assume about them? are they right?

Most people assume that bny is heavier than they actually are! Most guess they're around 200kg, when in reality they're only 113kg!

💚 GREEN HEART - what things make your oc feel comforted? hugs, kisses, food?

BNY loves to fidget, so anything they can use as a fidget toy is a great start to their habitat. The workshop they live out of has all sorts of trinkets, knick-knacks and gadgets that provide a level of comfort for them too. They're very picky about their charging device, as their favorite one hums just right. They even have a few treasures plushies that they sleep with! You can also pat them, play with their ears, and hug them with no risks to personal health, just be sure to ask :)

🥞 PANCAKE - what is their comfort breakfast? Mmm. I think Diric would dive right into a pile of scrambled eggs with a seasoned ham steak with a toasted muffin (English, not pastry) smeared in cream cheese. Simple, yes, but it hits a lot of happy spots and you can introduce him to a lot of different flavors with seasonings and substitutions within that simple spread.

🍟 FRIES - do they order food often? or they prefer to cook their own food? I think Diric prefers ordering food for two reasons. First, his lifestyle growing up was effectively as nobility (despite being hidden from the outside); the Kilvajon household definitely had a staff of cooks on hand, so prior to the army Diric would only need to head to the kitchens to get any snacks or beg treats. He probably learned how to prep food in the army but Diric was only okay; there were better cooks in his unit and there were plenty of far worse. Not to mention when the regular rations run out, you have to start making do with what you can forage, which is the part of self-cooking Diric doesn't enjoy as much.

🙊 SPEAK-NO-EVIL - what is something your oc will refuse to stay quiet about? Oh boy, Diric has so much he stays quiet about but I think he'll always advocate for choosing a course of action and committing to it. I think the one time that backfired in his face was in the illithid nest and we came across the civilian prisoners - he was so overcharged with being back there and all of his old fears that Diric would have rather left the prisoners than risking any of them proving to be a mind flayer host and killing them all. Alar's action prevailed and the civvies went free, and as much as Diric would normally agree with that course of action he had a hard time letting that slide. In general, though, he'll wait until a few options are on the table before weighing in with his opinion.

🍀 CLOVER - do they believe in luck? are they lucky? I think there was a previous ask awhile ago on a different meme where a similar question was asked! Diric doesn't necessarily believe in luck, especially not in the moment where anything can happen. In such moments, Diric would attest skill over luck in instances of just escaping severe damage. However, being reflective on those moments? Dir would absolutely call it luck. The Talisman get in and out of impossible scrapes what seems to be all the time, and sometimes that can't always be put to skill.

⚾ BASEBALL - can they play sports? what is their best position if they play a team sport? what’s their strong suit (speed, power etc.)? (AKA you're making me put on my baseball manager hat) As a fighter/barb, Diric is probably pretty good at sports, though playing requires some AU flexure. I think his favorite sport would be golf: the physical precision and power required would impress him and be something he constantly strives for. He'd probably also enjoy baseball; I can see him playing shortstop/second base, somewhere he can have a lot of action and strategic opportunity but he's not the brains of the team (that would be the catcher). Decent batting average but probably a fairly low home run count. He's the guy you can get on base, maybe steal a little, but you gotta bring him around to score.

📸 CAMERA - do they enjoy having their picture taken? what’s their go-to pose? do they like taking photos? what do they take photos of? Oof we don't have cameras in-universe but! I don't think Diric would enjoy having his picture taken, but he'll roll with it if someone starts waving a camera around demanding shots. He doesn't really have a go-to pose but ideally you want to capture a shot of him in the moment, without realizing his picture's being taken. Diric would be a huge photographer if he had a camera. Being an architectural sketch artist, if he could photograph buildings and places and Vibes he wants to incorporate into his cityscapes he absolutely would. I think he would also go out of his way to capture how the party feels in those atmospheres, but as with him in photos he'd want to take the snaps without them noticing. Diric doesn't show it, but the pictures and his sketches are his way of putting his care and love into a physical form, especially as he starts pulling his emotional core back together.

👑 CROWN - what does your oc want to be remembered as? why? A protector; a good friend; a good person; someone you could always count on to be there, whether in a fight, dealing with people, or sharing a drink. That alone would be enough for him.

🌩️ LIGHTNING - are they scared of lightning? Thinking of having Alar jump-scare him? Hehe Probably when Diric first came to the surface, absolutely he would have been. The explosions would undoubtedly remind him of spell blasts and any artillery he might have been around in the tunnels, especially when asleep and setting off night terrors. But I think he took the time to understand what the lightning was and to admire its beauty and majesty. He might still jump a little if it catches him off guard, but I don't think Diric would be truly scared of it.

💖 SPARKLING HEART - are they a subtle or a showy lover? Diric wants to think he's subtle but he absolutely, ridiculously showy as a lover. The man wears his heart on his sleeve and, when he's confident in that love Diric displays it as surely as his military stance: a little smirk to the side, extra sparkles in his eyes, more outwardly relaxed alongside his lover. He wants the world to know he's in love and will gladly show it off without shame.

☁️ CLOUD - a soft headcanon T_T I keep imagining Diric managing to find something of a quiet space in everything due to come in Akhenaton (some moment where they're not mid-fight or mid-breakdown or mid-politics) and perching himself on the riverside at a dock near a shallow part of the water. Just takes a moment to watch the river traffic and the city before stripping off his armor and even prying off his boots to settle in the water for a bit. Just let himself soak in the city he wants to call home.

01. How old is your sim? My headcanon is that he’s 15 at the start of the BaCC.

02. When is your sim’s birthday? June 28.

03. What is your sim’s zodiac sign? Cancer.

04. What is your sim’s ethnicity? Neo Margitavillean/human with magic ancestry.

05. Does your sim have any nicknames? Mark, and his sister Annika calls him Marky sometimes when they play-fight and she wants to annoy him. He pretends to be awfully offended by the nickname, but it’s more a running gag than anything else; he actually doesn’t mind it at all.

06. Do they have a job? Not at the moment.

07. Where does your sim live? Wyvern’s Bay since recently, Neo Margitaville before that.

08. Who does your sim live with? His dad Gabriel and his little sister, the aforementioned Annika.

09. What environment did your sim grow up in? (strict, loving, cold etc.) He was brought up in what could be considered the ideal familial environment - a friendly, safe neighborhood, a snug and cozy home, parents who doted on him… But his mom passed away when he was only 6, which came as a huge shock to everyone in the family, Marcus most of all. He managed to bounce back from the loss eventually - his dad was a huge source of support for him and his baby sister proved to be a wonderful distraction - but it took him a good amount of time to process it all, and even though he’s fine now, he still misses her dearly and feels her absence.

10. What is your sim’s favourite food? Pizza… and Watcher, what he wouldn’t give for a slice right now. Did you know that Wyvern’s Bay doesn’t have any pizzerias??

11. What is your sim’s favourite drink? Water.

12. If they have one what is your sim’s favourite color? Blue.

13. Does your sim believe in any clichés? (love at first sight, etc.) He firmly believes that “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”. And before anyone asks, no, he’s not the most ambitious of sims. :P

14. What is your sim’s sexuality? Heterosexual.

15. What is your sim’s gender identity? Male.

16. Is your sim type a or type b? Uh, what the hell is type A and type B…? Next question!

17. Is your sim introverted or extroverted? Introverted.

18. What is your sim’s favourite woohoo position? The kid’s still a virgin, so who the hell knows.

19. Is your sim a pet person? If so what is their favourite animal? Yes, he loves animals! I think he’s more of a cat person than a dog person, though he likes both well enough. He’s also very partial to small birds.

20. Does your sim have a best friend? His sister Annika, and since he came to Wyvern’s Bay, Phillip Gladwyn.

21. What is/was your sim’s favourite school subject? Back when he went to “regular” school it used to be Art, Biology, and Literature, and after Dominick Irving took him and Annika in for tutoring, his favorite lessons were in Robotics and High Elvish.

22. Is/was your sim a high, mid or low achiever in school? He was an overachiever in both elementary and high school, but due to unfortunate circumstances (read: a hoodpocalypse) he was forced to cut his education short. Now that Mr.Irving has taken him under his wing, though, he continues to excel in his studies. Once a nerd, always a nerd! 😁

23. Are they planning to go or have they already been to college? If so, what would be or what was their major?

He’d really love to be able to go to college, but the way things are now, it’s highly unlikely that’ll ever happen. :/ Wyvern’s Bay doesn’t have a university of its own, and any other universities are completely out of his reach. But if he could go to uni (dreaming is free, right?) he’d probably major in Biology or Art.

24. What are your sim’s political beliefs? He doesn’t have much of an opinion on the matter.

25. What is one thing your sim wants to do before they die? Just one thing? D: Marcus is so young, there’s so much he wants to do with life! Like find the love of his life, get married, start a family… it’s a long list!

26. Does your sim have a favourite TV show (cable) and/or movie? He doesn’t have any particular movie or show he considers his favorite, but he generally enjoys comedies, superhero films, and documentaries about ancient civilizations. Or well, used to enjoy. He doesn’t get to watch much television these days…

27. Is your sim a Netflix viewer? No.

28. Does your sim like books? Yep! He’s a complete bookworm!

29. Does your sim enjoy video games, if so what is their favourite one and do they play on PC or console? He’s not a hardcore gamer by any stretch, but he used to love playing video games as a kid and younger teen. He had a PC at home that he’d play on, and one of his friends from school (who had a console) would sometimes organize game nights. When he played on his home PC, it’d usually be single-player offline games, and when he played with his friends on console, they’d go for multiplayers.

30. What is your sim’s personal style? He’d describe it as “comfy & casual”, but these days it’s closer to “wears the same old rags every day and will continue to do so until the clothes literally fall apart”. It’s not easy to be fashionable when you live off grid, in the wilderness.

31. Does your sim have a lucky charm? Not per se, no… but he used to dry press four-leaved clovers whenever he’d come across them. He called it his “lucky collection”.

32. Is your sim religious? Nah.

33. What kind of music does your sim listen to and who is their favourite artist? He doesn’t have a strict preference re: music genre, but he likes ballads, anything with an acoustic guitar in it, and also rock, when he’s in the right mood. His favorite bands are The Beatles (got the love for their music from his dad) and The Police.

34. Is your sim a festive person? If so what’s their favourite holiday? If asked he’d probably say that he is, but to him it’s not so much about the holiday itself as it is about having a chance to get together with friends and family.

35. What is your sim’s favourite type of weather? He doesn’t have a preference, he enjoys all sorts of weather: warm, sunny, rainy, snowy… As long as it isn’t anything extreme (e.g. rainstorms, overly hot, heavy snowfall), he’s happy.

36. Does your sim prefer to start fights or finish them? He’d like it best if there was no fight to begin with!

37. Does your sim have a dream job? A professor, researcher, or any similar vocation that is intellectual in nature and allows for acquisition of new knowledge. As a kid, he’d always say that he wanted to become an archaeologist when he grows up… and while this isn’t necessarily something he’d consider his “dream job”, he probably wouldn’t mind being a stay-at-home dad.

38. Does your sim have any siblings? I’ve probably mentioned her like, what, ten times by now? Annika, his younger sister. He loves that kid to bits.

39. Does your sim get along with their family? He does, yes. His dad and sister are all he has left and he cherishes them above everything else.

40. What is your sim’s favourite hobby? Fishing! He started doing it out of bare necessity after his family got stranded in Wyvern’s Bay, but he really came to enjoy it as a hobby as well.

41. What does your sim look for in a romantic partner? Kindness, respect, loyalty, and above all, a lot of love and affection. Marcus’ ideal partner is someone who isn’t afraid to shower him with love and who will, in turn, allow him to love them just as much.

42. What is a secret about your sim? He cries like rain to sad movies, which is why he avoids watching them in the company of others… he may be a certified softie, but he still has his dignity.

43. What is a wish your sim has? For his family to find a safe place to live. That’s all he asks for, really. ;_____;

44. What is a flaw your sim has? He’s very emotional and tends to let negative comments get to him a bit too easily… He also has a tendency to get overly defensive when he’s been hurt.

45. How do others generally perceive your sim? Very nice, soft-spoken, a bit shy.

46. Does your sim have a greatest achievement? Surviving the total annihilation of your hometown, surviving a shipwreck, AND surviving in a fiendish new environment is a pretty big achievement, I’d say.

47. If they have one, what is your sim’s greatest regret? Not spending more time with his mother while she was still alive. Or rather, not making the most out of the time he had with her.

48. Does your sim have a favourite emoji? Long gone are the days when he used to have a phone for texting… but back when he did, his most used emoji was a plain old smiley face.

49. Does your sim use simstagram? No electricity, no social media. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Though he was never much of a simstagram user even when he had the necessary equipment… he only had an account because all the other kids had one.

50. What is the last text your sim sent (and who did they text)? “I’m gonna b late. Sorry” - sent to a classmate he was supposed to do a school project with. Needless to say, they never got to meet up for that project…

So I noticed that the rest of the season of MLP has leaked. I haven’t watched them but I’ve seen bits and pieces and I...... I just.......

I’m tired my dudes. I’m done. I have an entire world of headcanons set up in an ongoing continuity of stories and a lot of characters OCs and half OCs(my interpretation of a minor/background character) I’m attached to, but this just kind of tosses it all down the crapper. Like, the only thing I can say it helped was my conspiracy theory about Hearth’s Warming, since Starswirl was supposedly dead/out of this dimension by the time the Hearth’s Warming story happened yet we see him here with a group of friends that aren’t Unicorns. Side note: If they kept to Hearth’s Warming existing, Starswirl probably would’ve been very racist. Like, very very racist. Everything else just killed it.

So, no, I’m not even going to try and merge my headcanons here. They literally cannot be merged. So, while I’ve always said that @cornerverse-mlp is ‘Canon Divergent’, this is the biggest split. It’s more than just adjusting small things like actually utilizing the Elements of Harmony, or adjusting half-given and subject to change lore to say that Flurry isn’t the first naturally born Alicorn because Cadence wasn’t Ascended, or even taking the emptiness of Sombra’s backstory and creating the tragedy of Obsidian, Emerald and Autumn. It’s ‘I have already established a lot of this stuff in stories and/or headcanon posts and it’s vastly different than what the show is now putting out’.

And I like my versions better, for many reasons including attachment to characters and stories. So I’m going to keep them and toss the rest. Because you know what? There’s multiple Universes where things are different, so this is just another one. Even the show has multiple universes. I mean, not only in the whole EQG thing and Starlight’s fuckery with the Timelines, but the fact that the Comics have different events. So I’m just going to make my own Universe officially its own Universe. And like, things that don’t conflict will be the same, but this is just...... ugh. I never thought I’d have to deal with anything solid on Starswirl the Bearded, so I was cool with making headcanons about him.

Okay, to recap: I have my own continuity of stories and headcanons that now exist in their ownUniverse that is Canon Divergent from the show, but as it’s part of it’s own Continuity established before some episodes and not a complete AU that could be summed up in one sentence, it does not need the ‘AU Tag’. That said, I will try to enjoy the show on it’s own terms, but not in terms of trying to merge it with my headcanons, because that’s the only way to do this without feeling like I’ve wasted a fuckton of time and driving me insane trying to fit one of those jumbo kids’ toy puzzle pieces into my 1,000 piece jigsaw.

So, on to the ‘me being salty af’ part of the post, have some ‘headcanons’ about how Starswirl appears/exists in the Cornerverse-MLP Universe.

Starswirl is actually very short. Like, not ridiculously so, but typically Unicorns are shorter than Pegasai or Earth Ponies, so he’s shorter than most of the Mane 6, especially Twilight as she’s giant for a Unicorn

Twilight never actually thought about how tall Starswirl would be, so while she never meets him, the height difference would shock her if she did.

Other than the height thing, his physical appearance is similar to his various looks in the show and comics. Unicorn, gray, curly mane with a fantastic beard. However, his mane had been brown when he was younger, it just turned white as he got old. Also, his eyes have Heterochromia, being two different colors. One is brown, and the other is blue.

There actually exists paintings of him without the beard. He didn’t start growing it until he was in his 20s, so there were a hoofful of years where he either had no beard, or it wasn’t yet in the ‘magnificent’ stage.

While several ponies tried to say he was a dignified Dumbledore-like pony, he wasn’t. He was an absolute dork, had several off-the-wall ideas, and honestly liked fucking with people. The dude’s signature outfit was a hat and cloak festooned with bells that would honestly have a cacophony of noise every time he shifted. You don’t wear an outfit like that without liking to fuck with people.

Okay, I already made the Harry Potter reference, but tbh he’s not Dumbledore. He’s Fred and George. Brilliant as hell but loves fun and mischief. Still, he did some very brilliant things.

Starswirl was part of the first Ponies. They literally popped into existence at the beginning of the world, 2000 some odd years ago. That’s one reason he was so influential. Not that he wasn’t brilliant and would have done amazing things had he been born a few centuries later, but it’s easy to create spells that are still used years later when you’re one of the first Unicorns and someone has to invent anything more complicated than levitation.

He totally had friends. Plenty of them. In fact, he and his closest friends were the brilliant group to craft the Elements of Harmony. Well, the Elements are a naturally occurring thing, but the jewels were crafted to help ponies wield them easier as a conduit, and it was quite a task considering that the raw magic power of the Elements shattered most Gems.

This team also created a Prototype Crystal Heart, but the full version wouldn’t be complete for a few more centuries.

Okay, I have to address the ‘Starswirl is Discord’ theory(even though the show disproved it, but this is Canon Divergent so it could still happen).

Starswirl and Discord have no relation. Well, at least as far as ‘being the same person’. They absolutely knew each other. Very well I might add. No, you know what? Fuck it, I’m not going to be subtle. They were together romantically for a time, a few hundred years before Discord going nuts and being a statue. I guess you could call them ‘exes’, but there wasn’t a concept of marriage or monogamy at the time so the only reason they stopped seeing each other is because Discord is Immortal while Starswirl isn’t. That said, Discord still has a thing for dorky Unicorns and mischievous, off-the-wall weirdos.

As for other Romantic endeavors, again the concept of ‘marriage’ didn’t quite exist yet, but the closest thing to a wife he had was an Earth Pony mare named Frosted Cake that he had two daughters with.

Said daughters are Clover and Smart Cookie, who would eventually be known in the Hearth’s Warming story, but they have pretty much no relation to the story because I have conspiracy theories that are explained elsewhere.

Clover and Smart Cookie were the first ponies to be born normally. Remember what I said about everyone else ‘popping into existence’? Yeah, no parents were involved there. Clover and Smart Cookie were the first to be made by two ponies doing the do. (Clover is technically first, but they were twins).

Starswirl’s encounter with Sirens is not with the same Sirens as the ones in RR. Both trios had similar stories though.

I go into this more in a different headcanon post, but Sirens are usually normal and nice like anything else, but they have a Berserk Mode similar to Dragons. Except Berserk Sirens are 1. more coherent and 2. activated by Desire instead of Greed(Technicalities on what is what)

The Dazzlings had no connection to Starswirl, and all of them are still in their teens, having only been in the Human World for a few years. Celestia sent them there as a last desperate way to possibly break them out of Berserk Mode(since cutting off Magic can stop it), but.... okay this is getting long and is covered elsewhere so I’m stopping here.

The Sirens Starswirl dealt with.... didn’t go to another Dimension. They were Berserk and Dangerous, but I’m debating over whether he managed to calm them back to normal, or if he ended up having to kill them to keep them from harming everyone else(which would absolutely fuck him up btw, but still). Either way, history adjusted the story to “oh, he, uh, ‘sent them away’! Yeah, that’s it! They’re in another dimension!”

Starswirl died about 1,900 years before the events of Season 1. It wasn’t some grand adventure or anything magical. He was just old and had to die eventually. He died happy, probably peacefully in his sleep or something. Idk, I’m not going further into it because if I do I’ll make myself cry.

If diners and jukeboxes existed back in the day, Starswirl and Discord would absolutely have pulled the Salt and Pepper Diner thing.

Starswirl is actually younger than both Celestia and Chrysalis, but older than Discord and Luna.

Starswirl had nothing to do with building the Mirror Portal. It was actually a Time Traveling Flurry Heart creating a way to Anchor herself to her Home Dimension.

Speaking of the mirror portal, squishing the timeline to happen in a Mortal lifespan is a pain in the ass. But Human!Starswirl is also dead, but he died much younger because, again, condensed timeline.He did go to CHS with Celestia, Luna, and Discord, but that was nearly a decade before. They all went to Prom together, where Starswirl wore the Human version of his signature claok and hat.

Human Starswirl and Discord 100% did the Salt and Pepper Diner bit.

1. do you make your bed? Depends on the day, and where I am. At home with my family, I make it up all the way most of the time with the decorative pillows outside, because I'm expected to. In my school apartment, I just pull up and smooth the covers with the inside still accessible, unless I'm going to have visitors. Back in the dorm, unless I untucked the sheets and bunched it all up, the loft bed made it too much of a hassle.

2. whats your favourite number? Anything that multiplies and divides easily. Thought this through while stimming (tapping my forefinger and thumb together) as a kid. I think multiples of five were my favorites, but anything on one hand, I had to repeat on the other the same amount of times to even it up. So if I did my right hand forty-five times, I had to do it that many times with my left. (Overall, don't know if that makes my true favorite multiples of five, or ten).

3. what is your job? As a fresh college grad who is still in a job hunt: continuing job applications, volunteering at an animal shelter, and prepping for a second round of vet school applications. Could be better, but could be a lot worse (will need to land a paying job soon, but at least I get more experience hours to help me on that next application -and it helped cure my winter depression this year.)

4. if you could go back to school would you? -Elementary? Can't. Torn down in 2017. -Middle? HELL, no! Toxic staff pretty much encouraged bullying, and I've heard it's only gotten worse. -High? I do visit occasionally, because I have a family member who works there, so I know a lot of the staff, but a lot of my favorite teachers have left. I don't miss the teachers who played favorites to suck-ups and having class start at 7:20 AM, and I would not relive junior year (more stressful than all of college) if you payed me. -College? I'm enjoying experiencing a winter without schoolwork, but I wouldn't have minded staying this semester. They have a limit to how many credit hours on your degree before they double your tuition, and I came in with so many AP credits... I kind of *had* to graduate a semester early.

5. can you parallel park? Yes. If I can get over the fear, and the nerves I get if I have to make traffic stop for a second. I still avoid really tight spaces, and I'll always take a space large enough to pull in head-first if it's available... but I do have a trick for backing in that works quite well

6. a job you had that would surprise people? Tutoring an ESL kid in Algebra. The job might not be so surprising, but the reasons are. Just the way the school staff had tried to teach and tutor this kid and didn't get why he couldn't understand anything. You take a kid who can barely speak broken English, and when he says he doesn't know how to solve for x, and you keep telling him "isolate x". Isolate? When he barely understands English? How about starting with "let's get x by itself?"

7. do you think aliens are real? With the size of the universe, it's likely. I don't speculate on it often, but I won't be shocked if and when it's proven.

8. can you drive a manual? No. After five years of driving, I still already have enough road paranoia without having to worry about a second pedal to work and having to take a hand off the wheel to constantly change gears... I probably won't try to learn unless I ever end up working a position that requires me to.

9. whats your guilty pleasure? Singing when I'm alone in the car and overdramatizing it to where it's bad on purpose, or jumping around and mimicking Nancy Wilson's "Crazy On You" kick when I'm playing viola (not good enough to do that with the guitar yet).

10. tattoos? Don't have any. My family has a long-held tradition of no tattoos, and while I don't have anything against them and might have been tempted to rebel (to which their rule is have it somewhere they'd never have to see it), there are so many people I know who have gotten tattoos (a lot of people who made my life a living hell in grade school -if the mean girls do it, I automatically don't want to), I'd almost rather not get one, because it's more unique not to. But if I did get one, I'd just want a winged compass. It ties to an old OC of mine from my earliest writing projects, and I think it would look cool.

11. favourite colour? Can't choose just one, really. I like black, silver, red, and purple when in combination with each other, certain shades of blue and purple together, and I like blue and teal together or on their own.

12. favourite type of music? Most varieties of rock music from the late 60s through the 80s (classic, hard, AOR, prog, hair metal, some thrash metal, etc.)

13. things that people do that drive you crazy? When a group of friends walk next to each other on a narrow walkway so they take up the whole thing, and they don't move over when someone else is coming in the other direction, forcing that person to step down into the grass or the road (how many times this happened at college in the rain, and I had to get into deep puddles or mud...) Oh, and not using turn signals at intersections without turn lanes, not picking up after dogs, and loudly crunching on food in class.

14. do you like doing puzzles? Depends on what kind of puzzle. A word/logic puzzle, or the kind of puzzle you assemble in pieces? I'm not so good at the former (unless it's a crossword tailored to my field of study), and I haven't done the latter since I was a kid (no time, or space to do it).

15. any phobias? Flying cockroaches, heights and steep overlooks, those "clover-leaf" off-ramps that go in a circle and up over the highway to put you off on the other side, anything wet dripping from a ceiling (especially if it's discolored and/or I can't get away from the splash), steep stairs and extra-long escalators, certain extra loud fire alarms, burglar alarms when they malfunction (have a few pet-sitting horror stories), the chance of having another autoimmune attack, having everything I say be misunderstood, and abandonment.

Yeah, I'm a nervous wreck XD

16. favourite childhood sport? Golf. I play terribly aside from a pretty decent shot every now and then, but lots of good memories.

17. do you talk to yourself? When do I not? Albeit, sometimes when I talk to myself, I imagine I'm talking to one of my OCs, or characters I'm writing fanfic with... that way, I have to think to imagine their response in their wording instead of my own. (Growing up as an only child, outcast, and with no kids on my street, I didn't have much choice not to!)

18. what movie do you adore? I am CRAZY for Apollo 13. Don't know why, but have been since I was ten. When my parents used to have cable, it would come on AMC, and even though I knew what happened, if I caught it, I would get stuck watching three hours until the end through their hella long commercial breaks.

19. coffee or tea? Why not both? ...Coffee in the morning, for sure (Italian family kicked that off, and college sealed the deal on it). I'll have tea any other time of day, depending on my mood and what flavors I happen to have on hand.

20. first thing you wanted to be when you grew up? An ambulance driver for pets. (I still wouldn't be opposed to it if I could live on it).
