sorry i can't talk right now i'm thinking about shiro and keith's dynamic and how it could've been one of the most genuinely touching found family stories ever

shiro took one look at this struggling kid, scorned by all the adults around him, and he saw something good, so he took him in as his own family when no one else would and he spent the next 7 or so years trying to get that kid to see the same spark he did in himself

they could have made them The Brothers Ever and they fumbled the ball so hard. but that's what they were in my heart

okay, im not discrmatory towards monoshippers, i do not understand them, but i respect them. personally i am a multishipper, and i think that most things are valid (with some exceptions). but the worst kind of shipper, tHE WORST KIND, are people that think they’re ship should be canon.

now, yes, some ships DO have potential to be canon, but thats kinda rare.

for example: kiribaku has a chance of being canon due to their established bond created throughout the story.

this DOES NOT apply to every ship.

for example: bakudeku has very little chance of becoming canon due to A. deku has an established crush on uraraka, and B. deku and bakugou have a very rocky relationship in canon.

that doesnt mean you cant ship these things. thats the beauty of fanon, is it’s a world where things aren’t the same. but sENDING FUCKING DEATH THREATS (im looking at you vld) TO MAKE YOUR SHIP CANON??? WHAT THE ACTUAL F U C K

in what world is it okay to do that? like w h a t. as someone who watched voltron and actively shipped both klance and sheith i was confused on so many levels. because in my brain, neither of those had potential to be canon. heres my reasoning:

1. lance obviously liked allura, and yes he did flirt with most things BUT, that trope is very popular. its nothing new. the flirty-guy-who-flirts-with-everything-is revealed-to-have-true-feelings-for-a-girl was guaranteed from the fucking start.

2. keith and shiro were established to have a brotherly relationship in canon (once again, does not have to be brotherly in fanon) so that was obviously not gonna happen.

deATH THREATS ???? over ships like this???? HUH?

whats even wORSE is people that think that all shippers are like this. it fucking sucks. bECAUSE NOT EVERYONE IS LIKE THAT. we dont all think our ships should be canon! in fact, most of us dont want our ship to be canon !!!

and i know this for a fact! i was a part of the gravity falls fandom and talked about enjoying some of the billdip (dont hate me) fanworks and the rest of the fandom is all like “they’ll never be canon hahah”

LIKE OBVIOUSLY NOT ONE OF THEM IS A COSMIC FUCKING DORITO AND THE OTHER IS A PRETEEN

anyways sorry for the late-night rant i was pissed off at some comments on todobaku fanart and needed to eXPLAIN FANON TO SOME MORONS. hope yall have sweet dreams or a good day or whenever the fuck your seeing this🥰
