I'm seeing a lot of people posting Black Lives Matter memes with messages that say if you are in the business of conjure and don't post one of these memes, you have no business in the business. While I agree with the sentiment, I'm wondering where all y'all were when I was posting Voudou Resistance information and no one shared or had nary a comment about it over three years ago? . Or where all y'all were when I was addressing white against Black, Indian and Hispanic violence in Iowa 25 years ago? . Or where y'all were in the 60s during the Civil Rights movement, or the American Indian Movement in the 1970s? . Some of you are just waking up to the real life issues of people of color. Customers (and the postman even) ask me what does the S.A.G. mean on all my packages? Well, the short answer is that it is a prayer on every order. It an old folk Catholic custom to write the initials for St. Anthony's Guide (S.A.G.) for safe mail delivery on packages to insure they reach their destinations without any problems. It is just one of the old school blessings that goes into the creation and fulfillment of every order. 🙌🙌🙌 Way back in Spain in 1729, the wife of a merchant was in need of the support of her husband who was away on business. So, she tucked a letter to him in the sleeve of St. Anthony's statue in her church believing that he would miraculously deliver it. 🙌🙌🙌 According to legend, the next day the merchants wife returned to the church to check the statue and found not her own letter, but a letter from her husband, Don Antonio. There was also a heavy pouch containing 300 pesos, also reportedly sent by him. The merchant advised his wife that a letter from her had been delivered by a friar of the Order of St. Francis. Don Antonio sent his reply via the same friar.
