Just remembered that Will sat on the icebox in the van for the 30 hr ride back to Hawkins
#byler#stranger things#that willelmike dynamic in the van after the monologue needs to be studied under a microscope#like why couldn’t we see the aftermath of his monologue???#what happened??#when will sat on the icebox did el and mike look confused??#did they offer to leave room for him to sit there but he declined politely like no that’s okay…#followed by the next 30 hrs of awkward#I know the vibes were OFF#that’s the reason they only let us be confronted with them by the time they arrived in Hawkins#they needed to shift the mood to confusion about Hawkins’ state#bc they could not reveal what the vibes were like before that#no but the prospects of el hugging all of them after saving max#and it’s like emotional and they’re all so relieved she’s alive#but then shortly after that when they’re planning going back to Hawkins#she’s distant again#maybe it’s with everyone so they just brush it off as her needing time to process everything#but it’s still suspicious because…#why are things with her and mike still feeling very off#and then that’s when they’re getting into the van and then will just adds to the awkwardness even more by sitting on the icebox 😭#I also noticed 2 pillows on the backseat so it’s likely that’s where byler slept in s4 during their shenanigans#so I’m guessing that where el and mike slept while Will slept on the floor 😭#no but seriously they could not show any of that without giving it all away#the angst and heartbreak and confusion and regret would have been so loud 😅

A missed opportunity was to give Sokka a “Appas lost days” episode for when he was in the spirit world. Like the only mention of it again that I remember is him mentioning the spirit world doesn’t have bathrooms. I don’t think he ever elaborates on what happened to him in there.
Like he was the first to locate the spirit library in a couple hundreds years or something, so it must’ve affected him SOMEHOW. And only his hallucination in the swamp talked to him. But we never get more on it?? Like?? And he definitely remembers, since he mentions they have no bathrooms. But like?? WHAT HAPPENED??
ALSO, the avatars emotions effect the spirit world as shown in Korra, and how gloomy it was during aangs visit. And Aang was already gloomy over the forest and upset and scared because Sokka got kidnapped, so imagine how terrifying it must’ve been??

It always confuses me whenever it’s like “oh the Humans have all the advantages in the Federation” because,,, who tf gave them those advantages?? I’m sorry, were Humans just so irresistible that even though the Federation was started by 4 planets total and I’m pretty sure Humans don’t outnumber a single one of the 3 other planets, they all just decided to let Humans have control?? (I don’t mean actual control, but more like letting the Federation cater more towards Humans)
Because,,, how else would Humans get control? Can’t be our weapons, our intelligence, after scarcity ended Humans don’t seem to be violent, how did they come on top??
Humans can’t actually be in control, they must just think Humans have more control and stuff because we’re louder or something

When I’m reading a byler fic that’s set years after they defeated Vecna and they try to convince me Mike and El are still together and happier than ever
#stranger things#byler#byler fic#this isn’t slander!!!#i still read byler fics with prompts like this#and I eat them up bc the angst is truly unmatched#and don’t get me wrong I don’t want all fics to be the exact same#I’m not anti au either!!#but it just feels so weird having mike and el still be happily dating years after the events of s4#and then presumably whatever happened in s5#what happened??#and then I have to read to find out#I think I mostly just dislike when they write mike as being super believably in love with el#while also being totally oblivious to his feelings for will#again I’m still eating it up especially when it all starts falling apart and reality kicks in#but it srs requires some imagination bc it’s a little too ooc based on that premise alone#don’t take this as hate pls I’m still reading fics like this until the very end bc I NEED to see it through regarless#and keep writing fics like this if it’s your jam#ignore me! and my bitter rambles!
