The. Deal. Is. So. Good.
Couldn't get the link to the side-by-side of the WGA offer, the AMPTP counter offer from May, and the final deal, because it's a document to download and too many pictures to take for this post that probably wouldn't be legible, but it's in this tweet (click the link below the tweet to go to said tweet):

Don't forget, the fight isn't over for SAG-AFTRA and next year, contracts are up again for IATSE, including The Animation Guild.
If you're a fan of movies, tv, and animation, keep helping the guilds fight the good fight!
Also, please support the other unions that are out their now fighting their own fights including Amazon workers, Local 11 in LA, and Flight Attendants!
And of course, big thanks to strike hero Drew Carey for paying for probably THOUSANDS of meals for striking writers in LA these past five months.
Congratulations WGA and Pre-WGA for your amazing wins with this contract!

In the wake of the dual strike I would like to remind everyone that "hollywood elites" is an antisemitic dogwhistle and if you are referring to company executives call them executives

look folks, saying that actors are being greedy and don't need to strike because A-list names get paid buckets of money is like saying that food service workers are paid enough and treated perfectly well and don't deserve more compensation because Gordon Ramsay is millionaire

Friendly reminder that even if the Percy Jackson teaser looks amazing and it talks to our inner child and ofc we have all the right in the world to like it, we shouldn't forget about the wga strike. I don't wanna ruin the party, on the contrary.I'm SO excited for the show…. but its good to also remember what its happening on the real world.
This is just a reminder. Both excitement for the show and concern for the real people can coexist. Don't forget about neither…
EDIT: a person rebbloged this post with important information about why at least for now we shouldnt consider pracy if we want to help the strike. Go check it out.

A reminder with the recent headlines connected to the wga strike
DO NOT BOYCOTT UNLESS THE WGA OFFICIALLY CALLS FOR ONE!
I understand you're mad. I understand you're frustrated. I get it! But starting an unofficial boycott will do absolutely nothing to help the WGA and indeed could very well harm efforts, both by cutting the (already limited) residuals the writers are being paid, by potentially creating another excuse for the executives to not negotiate, and if the WGA does call for an official boycott a bunch of people already boycotting will lower the numbers in the official boycott. If there's gonna be a boycott it needs to be very well organized to do any good.
If you wanna help, listen to what the WGA itself says you can do to help. A big one is if you have the money, a big one is donating to the Entertainment Community Fund, to help ensure the striking writers don't go broke. This is gonna be especially big since it's seriously looking like SAG-AFTRA is gonna strike after all.
As I said, if the WGA believes a boycott is necessary and will help their goals they will announce it through official channels. Until the WGA calls for a boycott, DO NOT BOYCOTT. Thank you have a good day.

"One thing, before I get off this [video]... the motherf-cker who said we're gonna keep this thing going until people start losing their houses and their apartments," Perlman says in the video. "Listen to me, motherf-cker, there's a lot of ways to lose your house. Some of it is financial, some of it is karma, and some of it is just figuring out who the f-ck said that — and we know who said that — and where he f-cking lives. There's a lot of ways to lose your house. You wish that on people, you wish that families starve, while you're making $27 f-cking million a year for creating nothing? Be careful, motherf-cker. Be really careful, 'cause that's the kind of sh-t that stirs sh-t up. Peace out." - Ron Perlman on Instagram today (7-14-2023)

Late in the day on Sunday, September 24 — after 146 days of labor stoppage, the longest strike in Hollywood history by a long shot — the Writers Guild of America (WGA), which represents Hollywood’s writers, and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), an association of Hollywood’s largest studios and production companies, announced that an agreement had been reached. On Tuesday, September 26, the union’s leadership announced that they’d voted to end the strike and recommend the membership vote in favor of ratifying the contract.

🕸️ companies won't guarantee fair wages, benefits, or good working conditions
🕸️ by undermining the strike, you'll destroy your chances of being able to join a union if you continue to work in the industry after the strike
🕸️ companies see you as replaceable and they will try to test out methods to undermine your work that the union is fighting against such as labor theft, automation, and artificial intelligence
Withhold your labor and don't cross the picket line
