Chapter 9 – Fantasy
“Dude.” Nino exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around Adrien in a bear hug the moment he opened the door to his apartment. Marinette narrowly missed the embrace and ducked between the two men, running over to Alya for safety. “I haven’t seen you in forever! I missed you!”
“Three weeks isn’t that long of a time, bro.” Adrien chuckled as he patted Nino’s back as he pulled away.
Nino wrapped his arm around Adrien’s shoulders and escorted him in, animatedly talking about something in secret. Marinette could see the bright smile on Adrien’s face, no doubt Nino had told him something amazing in secret.
“I’m glad you’re already gossiping with your boyfriend.” Alya chuckled as she pulled a platter of sandwiches from the fridge.
“Ooh. Secrets. Is it juicy?” Marinette asked with a curious and pleading tone.
“Apparently, not juicy enough to tell his girlfriend of ten years,” Alya emphasized the last few words as she increased her voice. “But I guess that’s fine.” She added with a pouty lip.
Adrien and Marinette laughed before Nino defended himself. “Sorry, babe. This secret is for me to know, and for you to find out later.”
“Probably a ring.” Alya stated with a wink and Nino sputtered.
“Not a ring.” Adrien defended his best friend. “Got to land that big job first, remember?”
“Yeah, yeah. I remember.” Alya added with an eyeroll. Alya had been adamant that Nino was not to propose until Alya received word that she got a job at one of the most prestigious papers in Paris. She put in applications everywhere, but only a few smaller companies have taken her under her wing. Doesn’t stop the blogger from trying her best though.
Nino walked up to Alya and squeezed her to his side, placing a sweet kiss to her temple. “Soon babe. You’ll get it. I know you will.”
“Hopefully soon. I have a second interview with Le Monde on Thursday. If I pass, I'll have to give them a journalist entry on a topic of their choosing. If I pass that standard, I’m in.”
“That’s so awesome!” Marinette wrapped her arms around Alya. “Good luck. I know you can do it.”
“Thanks, girl.”
“So, dude. How was your trip to Milan? Was it better than usual?”
“Ugh.” Adrien let his head fall back as he groaned, Nino handing him a beer in commiseration. “It was seriously terrible. Being there was supposed to ‘scare them into place’ as my father put it, but it only gave me headaches. Everyone was so terrified that I managed to get only two or three words at a time from many of the employees.”
“Dude. That’s rough.”
“Yeah, no kidding. I was stressed to the max every night.”
“Couldn't find any Italian chicks to fuck around with?”
Marinette sputtered and Adrien choked on his beer. Nino started to pat Adrien on the back to help him breathe, and Alya stopped setting up the table to turn to the two men.
“Geez, Nino. Could you be any gentler?”
“What? You know what they say... fucking helps release endorphins. Helps relieve stress.”
“Yeah, no.” Adrien finally said once he caught his breath. “Come on, man. You know I'm not looking for anything right now.”
“I didn’t say anything about finding someone to spend time with. Just someone to ease the stress of your manhood.”
“My manhood is fine, thank you very much. Plus, you know I’m not the kind of guy to do that. I find for keeps, not for sleeps.”
“But you’ll be wound up less, dude.”
“Listen, Nino. Things are finally getting settled with the new store in Milan and I just need to focus on that a bit longer. Once the transition is done, then I'll look into finding the perfect girl and settling down.”
Alya smiled at Adrien. She knew the boy loved with his whole heart and wouldn’t mess around with anyone and break theirs. She could see Adrien’s apprehension to the conversation and decided to change targets instead of subjects.
“What about you Marinette? Anyone new on your radar?”
Marinette shook her head as she sipped her drink. “Nope. School is hard as it is. I don’t need to add a boyfriend to that list of crap.”
“Oh, come on. Not even for pleasure?”
“Cobwebs, Alya. Cobwebs.”
“You know what? I know the sex is incredible for me. You two floof balls of stress need to unwind with some good fucking,” she took a sip of her drink, “...besides the ones you do to yourselves, that is. I can set the two of you up with people who could also use some good balls-to-ass action if you want.”
Marinette stared at Alya while Adrien just blushed.
“No.” They said in tandem; Marinette harsher with her tone than planned while Adrien’s voice cracked.
Alya just shrugged her shoulders. “Fine then. If neither of you want to fuck around and have some fun, then let’s play a game.”
“What kind of game, Al?”
Alya took in another sip as she looked to Marinette. “If you could choose one celebrity or person to sleep with, who would it be? It can be a fantasy fuck for all I care.”
Marinette looked over to Adrien, and she gave him a devilish smirk. “Easy. Adrien Agreste.”
Alya sputtered, Nino gasped, and Adrien choked on his soda. The poor boy was going to die today from the embarrassment.
“Marinette!” Alya yelled.
“What?” She said innocently, before feigning realization. “Oh crap! I completely forgot that the Adrien Agreste is in the room and heard me say everything just now.”
“What the hell, Marinette? What has gotten into you?”
Marinette shrugged before taking a long pull from her cocktail. “What? We’re such good friends that I know I can say that without blushing anymore. Plus, my crush on him is long gone.”
Adrien was bright red, but gave her a devious smirk. “Wait. You used to have a huge crush on me? Where the hell was I?”
“Somewhere. I don’t know. You missed your chance to have all of this.” She said gesturing to herself.
Alya could not believe the confidence coming out of Marinette’s mouth as well as the pondering expression on Adrien’s face.
“Well. Fuck. Guess I missed my chance then.” Adrien added with a snap to his fingers.
Nino’s mouth was open, but he didn’t know what to say to this development.
“Dude? Dudette? Alya?” Nino’s voice croaked as he called for his girlfriend.
“Well, I'll tell you who I would fuck.” Adrien blurted out, interrupting Nino’s thought. “Ladybug. I’d let her tie me down with that yo-yo and let her have her way with me.”
Marinette let out a strangled whimper.
Alya lifted up her fist in solidarity. “Same, sunshine. Same. Sorry Nino, but I would fuck the ever-living shit out of Ladybug if given the chance. I’d even let her fuck me with a strap on. Just let me get pegged by her.”
“O. M. G.” Adrien said with sheer enthusiasm. “I’d let her do the same to my model ass!”
Marinette let out a choked cough and Adrien turned to her with faked worry. “Marinette. Are you okay?”
“Never better!” She managed to say, her voice hoarse.
“What does she have that I don’t?” Nino questioned to Alya.
“I don’t know. A skin tight suit? A sweet ass? Perky breasts? The list is endless.”
“Huh,” Adrien let out. “A skin tight suit? Don’t worry, bro. You don’t need a skin tight suit. Just your DJ hands would prove yourself worthy to me. Your ass is marvelous, and your pecs are mighty tight.” Adrien finished with a squeeze to his man tits.
“Dude.”
Marinette turned to Alya as Nino gave Adrien a hearty hug. “Alya, you still up to being a lesbian for a day? I need some curves in my life.”
“For your athletic ass? Sure!”
---
“Oh, you like my ass, don’t you?” Ladybug teased as she finished tying Adrien down with her yo-yo. She thanked her lucky stars that Adrien’s king-sized bed had metal slats in the headboard or she would have hung him from the ceiling instead.
“Every day since the day we met.”
“Horndog.”
“Excuse, me. I like the term horn panther, thank you very much.”
Ladybug tightened the cord a little tighter, getting Adrien to grunt. “Hm. Who knew you liked being tied up.” She peered at his gorgeous model ass as he laid on his stomach. She made sure his arms were stretched in front of him, while his legs were folded under him so she could work her magic.
“If you don’t stop talking, you won’t get your treat.”
“You mean, I get a treat? I thought you working my ass was my punishment.” He smirked knowing full well that everything would be a treat for them both.
Ladybug walked up to him, her lips twisting to a devilish smirk as she bent herself down until her face was level with his.
“Last time I checked, this was your fantasy, chaton. I already get to live my fantasy about fucking super gorgeous, Gabriel model, Adrien Agreste.”
“And is he everything you ever dream of?”
Ladybug winked and stood back up, walking back to the edge of the bed until she reached his bare ass. She looked at it as she tilted her head, before smoothing her fingers across his smooth skin until she touched the entrance to his asshole with her finger tip. He shuttered at the feeling.
“I could die and go to heaven with how amazing he is...” Adrien began to turn pink as she started to praise him, “how deliciously amazing his cock is...” she bent down to grab the straps of the toy and slide it up her legs, “how he makes me moan and scream out his name every time he fucks me hard.”
Ladybug grabbed the lube as she praised him with all the love she could give him, and she could see him visibly wiggle with excitement. With her free hand, she slapped his ass, getting him to whimper.
“Someone is excited to live their fantasy and get fucked by his dream girl.”
Adrien could hear her squeeze out some lube into her hand. He looked over his shoulder and watched as she spread the liquid around the long silicone dildo attached to the strap-on, and he bit his lip to muffle the moans and the words that he wanted to yell out. The straps made her ass so much more juicer and delicious and he couldn’t wait to see what she could do to him.
She poured a bit of lube onto her fingertips and layered it over his asshole, dipping her fingertip into his entrance to prep it completely. She walked back closer to his ass and lined up against his entrance, then clicked on the bullet vibrator on to get the vibrations going.
“Oh, yeah.” Ladybug moaned out, feeling the bullet vibrate against her clit. She looked over to see Adrien still biting his lip, his gaze darkened with desire. She pressed the tip of the dildo into his entrance, then waited for his nod to indicate he was ready.
Slowly, she pushed the dildo into him, taking her time until the sensations were overwhelming his mind. Moans spilt from his lips, the little gasps as she delved further into him, the praises as she told him how good he was being for taking her all in.
He gasped as she pushed the remaining bit of the strap-on into his ass, and moaned out a fuck as she held it there until he became use to the feeling.
“Are you okay?” Adrien nodded and let out another breath. “Good. Are you ready?”
“Yes.”
Ladybug began to thrust into him, making his hard cock swollen with delight. She hunched over him, steadying herself with one hand on his hip, while rubbing her fingertips of her free hand up and down his gorgeous, muscular arms. She finally smoothed her fingers over his shoulders and down his chest until she reached his taut pecs, then rubbed her finger against his nipple until it peaked. He mewled at the sensation and she moaned in his ear, causing his mouth to open to an “o”. She did the same to his other nipple, switching her steady arm to make it work.
She then reached down, wrapping her fingers around his hard cock, and began to stroke and tug on it as she continued to thrust. Each time she thrusted into him with the strap-on, she stroked towards the tip of his cock and swirled her thumb against his slit. Then when she pulled out, she stroked him back, caressing his balls within her grasp. Every so often she would thrust into him and hold the base of the dildo to his entrance, allowing him to feel the vibrations of the bullet as she felt it against her clit.
“Fuck.” Adrien moaned out, feeling the coil begin to rattle in his lower belly.
Every time she thrust, she could feel the vibrations rattling her clit, turning her further and further on as she continued. She didn’t want to cum sooner than she planned, but taking control, watching him wither under her as she stroked his hard cock, thrusting the silicone dildo in and out of him, the mewls and moans and swears that spilled from his lips... it was becoming all too much.
She began to slow down as she let the feeling of her orgasm dissipate. She hated herself for doing it to herself, but giving him this fantasy was something on her list of things to do ever since he confessed some deep secrets that he swore he would never tell. Giving him this turned her on, and she would do this anytime he asked her to. He deserved the world, and she wouldn’t deny that seeing his ass this way made her tremble.
“Fuck, milady. I don’t know how much longer I'm going to last.”
Knowing these were his usual words when the feeling of his orgasm was about to burst, she began to thrust harder into him
She smirked against his ear before licking the shell of it, blowing onto the wet part until he gasped. “Then don’t”
As if the flood gates opened, she could feel his cock swell until it burst, and she continued to thrust into him while stroking his cock until his orgasm spilled out completely. The moment she felt him gasp at the final spurts, she thrust into him a bit further, finally allowing herself to fall over the edge.
She gasped out as she climaxed hard, and Adrien allowed her to thrust into him until she came down from her high. As soon as she did, she fell upon his back, wrapping her arms around his waist and clicking off the bullet.
“So- good.” Adrien finally said as he heard her breathing level out.
“Mhm.” She moaned out, then steadied herself to pull the strap-on out of him. Slowly doing so, she heard him grunt at the movement. She then pulled the strap-on off of her, then moved over and began to untie the yo-yo from his wrists.
He laid down onto his stomach as his breathing evened out, and Ladybug called off her transformation, leaving Marinette in her wake. She laid down beside him and rubbed her fingers against his wrists, soothing them from the redness left over by the ties.
“You okay?” She soothed, kissing his inner wrists as she massaged them.
“Mhm.” He moaned out, finally opening his eyes to glare into her blue bell eyes. “That was amazing.”
Marinette agreed with his words and placed a kiss to his lips. “If you ever want to do that again.... oh man, I'll do it.”
Adrien gestured with an “hell yeah” hand motion before falling asleep, ass up. Marinette giggled as she watched him snore, placing a blanket over his naked form, and snuggling up to him and sleeping comfortably beside him.

Out of the Frying Pan
Summary: Clementine and the others go to a party in order to steal a relic with information hidden inside. If it remains in the wrong hands the world may be in danger.
Read on A03:
“Alright, is everyone ready for the meeting?” Clementine lifted her gaze up from the virtual map on the table, looking around at the others.
“Of course,” Aasim leaned forward in his chair. “We’ve been preparing for this mission for weeks.”
“Right, well hopefully if we go over it one final time we won’t have any complications,” Clementine pinched the bridge of her nose.
Mitch let out a snort, his hands placed behind his head as he leaned back in his chair with a smug expression. “There’s always complications.”
“It’s hard not to have any when we have a team this big,” Brody added.
“Let’s just get the meeting started,” Violet grumbled, clearly not looking forward to the same mission debrief again.
“Okay, so the mission will go as follows: Aasim will be in charge of the cameras while Renata, Sophie and Mitch wait in the van as backup.”
“Yeah!” Renata pumped her fist. “Backup squad!” She high-fived Sophie who returned the gesture enthusiastically.
“As I was saying,” Clementine continued, “Those will be the ones in the getaway van. Brody and Ruby will be in charge of the perimeter and be mingling with the outside party guests.”
Brody and Ruby nodded in unison. Both of them focused on looking at the map of the outside perimeter, recording it to memory.
“While they are on the outside, Omar will be inside. He’s the main one the back-up team will correspond with. He’ll be our inside eyes and ears at all times.” Clementine spun the virtual map and put her fingers together before moving them apart to zoom in on the central hall. “In the central hall, Prisha will be one of the main singers distracting most of the party guests while Minnie, Violet and I will be busy making sure no one notices when-”
“When Marlon and I steal the Golden Egg,” Louis leaned forward, tapping a few buttons before pulling up the picture. The picture slowly rotated, showing a golden egg-shaped relic that had ancient and mysterious symbols on it, “And swapping it out with Sophie’s counterfeit.”
Sophie dug around in her bag, her tongue sticking out slightly when she made a happy dun duh duh duuuh as she displayed her handiwork proudly. “Took me a few all nighters but it should be an exact replica. With this, Carver’s men won’t even know we were there.”
“Still,” Clementine’s tone made everyone’s attention focus back on her. “We need to be careful. That’s why James and Jesse are staying with you three,” She turned to Willy, Tenn and AJ. Tenn seemed fine with that while Willy and AJ were obviously not happy. But after the amount of times Clementine had explained to them they had reluctantly agreed.
“Don’t worry, Jesse and I will make sure everything is okay back here on base.” James put a hand on Clementine’s shoulder and gave a reassuring smile.
Clementine’s shoulders visibly relaxed as she wrapped up the meeting. “We need to make sure this goes off without a hitch. If Carver were to get his hands on the papers hidden within the relic, then the world as we know it could be in danger.”
Everyone’s face grew slightly somber when suddenly Marlon spoke up. “What if something goes wrong with Louis and I and our covers are blown?”
“Have no fear, dear friend,” Louis gave a hearty pat on Marlon’s back. “For I have thought of a solution.”
“Oh no,” Prisha placed a hand on the side of her head.
“Ta-da!” Louis pulled out two full body suits and walked around with them, displaying them with a smug expression. “With these we can get away with ease! They can change to any sort of background, sort of like a chameleon.”
Renata let out an excited gasp. “Do you have a third one? I want to be like Lasagna!”
“While the idea isn’t bad, Louis,” Clementine placed her hand on his arm, “Let’s hope that you won’t have to use them.”
----
“I can’t believe we have to use these,” Marlon groaned as he bounced up and down to put on the full body suit.
“This will work!” Louis placed the mask over his face. “Have I ever let you down?”
Marlon let out a tired sigh. “Alright, alright, let’s just get this over with.” He clicked the button on the side, changing his suit to match the extravagant wallpaper of the mansion. Louis soon followed suit.
“Okay, just follow my lead,” Louis moved to the wallpaper and started slowly flipping from his front side to his backside, slowly and carefully covering some distance. Marlon followed his lead and prayed that the others would be able to get them out of this bind.
----
“Renata,” Sophie’s tone had warning to it, causing her friend to move her hand away from the camera controls while Aasim had taken a short break.
“Come on, Sophie, how do you know I wasn’t checking to make sure Louis and Marlon were doing okay?” Renata pointed to the camera screens.
“Because it’s on Minnie’s butt.” Sophie’s tone was flat as she motioned to the screen. Renata bounced impatiently on her seat. “Sophieeeee.”
“No,” Her friend replied simply and put her headset back on.
“Omar,” Aasim’s voice crackled to life on the earpiece. “How is it going in there?”
Omar took a quick bite from his gourmet hot dog as he stood by one of the pillars. “Nothing much. Everything seems to be going fine. Prisha is in the middle of her act and the other girls seem to be distracting the party guests.”
Clementine was busy talking with one of the patrons of the party, her short black dress shined in the chandelier light, playfully placing her hand on his arm as she glanced over to Minnie and Violet who seemed to have stopped some other guests from stepping out into the west corridor where Louis and Marlon were.
“That’s good. The outside seems to be doing well as-” Aasim’s voice paused when a loud smacking sound emitted from his headset and into Omar’s earpiece. Omar winced a bit at the volume of it.
“Sophie!” Renata whined. “Why did you hit me?”
“Stop moving the cameras onto Minnie!”
Aasim let out a long and tired sigh. “Well, it seems the mission is going smoothly.” Suddenly the other line was beeping, causing Aasim’s eyes to widen. It was Louis and Marlon’s line. Aasim covered his mic. “Sophie, check on Louis and Marlon’s line.”
Sophie nodded and used one of her hands to push away Renata from the camera controls as she spoke. “Louis, what’s up?”
“So don’t freak out, we have a slight problem.”
“What problem?” Sophie’s worried voice made Renata stop her attempts at the controls and had both of the boys glancing over.
“Marlon and I nearly…. I repeat nearly got caught. But have no fear. We have come up with a solution via the full body suits.”
Sophie snapped her fingers and motioned for Aasim to pull up the different camera angles.
Aasim’s fingers flew across the keyboard and froze when he had found the pair.“What the hell?”
The four leaned forward and watched as Louis and Marlon flipped over to the beat of Prisha’s song and were making their way through the central hall.
“One more thing, Soph,” Louis’ voice appeared in her headset again.
“Yeah?”
“We sort of kinda didn’t place the counterfeit.”
“What? Why not?”
“Because we forgot it,” Marlon’s apologetic voice appeared.
“No you didn’t. I remember I handed it to-” Sophie spun around, digging through her bag, her face dropping and her eyes widening in horror when she saw the replica still there. “Oh shit.”
“What?” Renata popped her head up.
“They forgot the relic.”
“Shit,” Aasim ran a frantic hand through his hair and took a deep centering breath. “Renata, get on Violet’s line and tell her to cover for those two. I’ll get the others on track.”
“What about the relic?” Sophie asked.
Mitch stepped over towards the others. “I can take it and sneak it in there. Those assholes won’t even realize I was there,” A cocky smile appeared on his lips.
“Okay, but take Brody with you,” Sophie looked up at Mitch and handed over the replica, “Oh, and take this.” She handed him some gadgets. “Brody is already covered so she’ll be fine.”
Mitch nodded and exited the van, making his way over to the front of the party. He pulled on his tuxedo collar. Guess it was a good thing after all that Clem told the backup team to dress formally.
“Omar, I need you to cover for Clem and Minnie.” Aasim directed before switching over to the two girls’ mics. “Clem, Minnie, slight change of plans. Turns out Louis and Marlon couldn’t grab the relic.”
Clementine gave a fake laugh and teased the patron she was talking to before walking away and joining Minnie. “Is Louis alright?”
“Yes, that idiot is fine for now, but you two need to grab the relic.”
“What about Soph’s counterfeit?” Minnie’s voice crackled to life over the headset.
“Mitch and Brody have it handled.”
“Mitch and Brody?” Clem asked in confusion as her and Minnie made their way over to the west section of the mansion.
“Don’t worry about it,” Aasim replied before stopping communication. He leaned back in his chair with an exhausted look in his eyes. He glanced over and noticed that Renata was already working on relaying the information to Violet.
----
Violet knew she should be focused on talking to the patrons and diverting their attention away from the western corridor but she couldn’t move her eyes off Prisha. The way her dark brown eyes danced in the light, her sultry voice as she got swept up in the song, that gorgeous long purple sequin dress. It made it near impossible for Violet to concentrate. She felt her heartbeat race and her face heat up.
“Violet….” She could hear the faint sound of Renata’s voice in the back of her mind for some reason. “Violet! You useless lesbian! You need to focus!” Renata’s voice rang from Violet’s earpiece.
Violet shook her head when she realized her mistake. “Shit, sorry. Wait. What did you call me?” Violet whispered angrily into her earpiece.
“Now is not the time! You need to cover the central hall and make sure Louis and Marlon make it out okay. There’s been some slight complications to the plan.”
“What kind of complications?”
“Just look behind you and you’ll see.”
“Look behind me?” Violet’s face scrunched in confusion. “Why the-” She froze when she saw two people in full body suits slowly flipping over the wall paper to the beat of the music. “What. The. Fuck.” Violet muttered. She was about to ask what the hell went wrong but a part of her really didn’t want to know. “Fine, I’m on it.” Violet moved forward and stopped in front of one of the patrons who was about to turn around right where Louis and Marlon were crossing. Her eyes wandered around the room and noticed that Minnie and Clementine were nowhere to be seen. Wherever they were, she hoped they were having better luck than the two idiots stuck crossing the wallpaper.
----
The faint, constant sound of heels clicked against the floor as Clem and Minnie walked into the corridor. Minnie’s long midnight blue dress swayed with her movement. She was about to continue forward when she felt Clem’s hand on her arm.
“We should take off our heels. Attract less attention.”
“Good idea,” Minnie took off her heels and held them in her hand before supporting Clementine as she took off hers. With that the pair wandered over towards where the relic should be held. When they arrived they noticed that two guards were sweeping the perimeter of the room.
“Fuck,” Minnie leaned her body against the wall and poked her head out to check. “Want to try and talk or just take them out?”
Clementine poked her head out for a moment then looked up at the tall redhead. “Let’s just take them out. You get the one near the left and I get the right?”
Minnie nodded and the duo moved out. Minnie was the first to her target and followed silently behind until there was a good blindspot to attack. When the chance arrived, she put the guard in a choke hold. She gritted her teeth and squeezed her arm tightly around the guard’s neck as he squirmed. Within a few seconds he was out like a light. Dragging his unconscious body and putting it in the corner, she moved back into the center to see how her teammate was doing. Clementine was approaching the other guard. With a swift kick to his leg she made him fall to his knees. A hard punch to the head and the guard was out of commission. Clementine was about to hide him when she heard a voice that made her and Minnie stop dead in their tracks. An ice cold chill ran down their spines.
“Well, well, well. Wasn’t expecting you here,” Clem turned and was greeted with a harsh slap to the side of her head. Carver stood over her with a pitying expression. Minnie ran forward and kicked out her leg viciously at Carver’s head but he simply blocked it with his arm. With a rough push he sent Minnie stumbling backwards before giving a swift punch to her gut. Minnie gasped for air, a small string of saliva escaping her lips. But before she had a chance to defend herself, Carver sent his nails slicing against her face. The nails on his hand scraped and peeled off flakes of Minnie’s skin. “
Your team needs to learn respect,” Carver moved towards Minnie and grabbed her by her hair. “The strong always rule over the weak.” His twisted, charismatic smile made Minnie’s skin crawl but his smile soon disappeared when Clem’s foot connected with the side of his jaw. An unpleasant cracking sound emitted from the impact, causing Carver to stumble backwards. He brushed his hand over his mouth, smearing the blood oozing out across his face. “Heh, seems like you two aren’t going to be pushovers after all.”
Clementine helped Minnie up who quickly dashed forward before sidestepping. Her hands wandered down to the sash on her dress that was draped over her hip, undoing it. Carver walked forward and swung a hard punch. Minnie lifted up the sash and wrapped it around the man’s arms before wrapping his arm around his neck. Minnie didn’t even have to look back to know that Clementine had appeared. Clementine placed all of her weight on her left leg before sending a harsh kick across Carver’s face then sending another the opposite way. Carver’s head moved with the kicks but his smile never disappeared; his eyes burned with a plan.
Without warning he headbutted Minnie, causing her to loosen her grip on the sash and with a harsh kick to the gut he sent Clementine flying and crashing against the floor. He was making his way over to Clementine when he felt his leg get kicked out, making him fall to his knees. Minnie’s face twisted in anger as she sent a punch directly on top of Carver’s broken nose. Blood spurted and splattered across the floor as the man fell. Minnie hit him again and again, stopping when she was sure he’d had enough. Carver jolted up unexpectedly, about to attack when Clementine sent a swift kick to the side of his head, knocking him out. Minnie and Clementine looked at each other with relieved expression as their chests heaved.
“Minn….ie. Clem!” Aasim’s voice sputtered to life. “Are you alright?”
“We’re fine,” Clementine answered while Minnie flicked the blood off her hand, making her way forward and grabbing the golden relic before tossing it to Clem who caught it with ease. “We have the relic.”
“I'm so happy you’re safe!” Renata’s cheerful voice had an edge of fear to it. “We lost control of the cameras in the western corridors.”
“I’m fine, Ren,” Minnie smiled as she replied into her earpiece. “Just had to kick some ass.”
“Carver’s ass to be specific,” Clem winced when she moved, placing a gentle hand on her ribcage. Carver had definitely broken something.
“Carver’s?!?” Sophie butted in. “Are you-” She paused. “Shit, get back here as soon as you can. I'll contact Ruby.” It was clear that the van now had access to the cameras again.
“OK, we’re heading back,” Minnie smiled, wiping the blood off her knuckles.
“Good, Mitch and Brody should be on their way with the counterfeit although I don’t know how much use it will be now.” Aasim tapped his fingers impatiently on the desk.
----
It hadn’t taken long for Mitch to find Brody and fill her in on the new plan. The two quietly made their way over to one of the walls. Mitch tapped a few buttons on his watch before hovering it over the wall. “It’s best to cut here. Did you-”
“Yeah, hang on,” Brody knelt down and lifted up her forest green dress’ slit to her thigh, pulling out a small container. She looked over at Mitch who started blushing when they made eye contact which only made Brody blush. “Just… let’s concentrate on the task,” Brody pointed the gadget at the wall. A small red laser shot from it as she made an entrance big enough for the both of them.
Once that was done she moved aside the part of the wall she had cut off, letting Mitch go in first before recementing the piece back into place when they both had entered. Mitch guided them to the nearest air duct and after helping Brody up the pair made their way towards the goal. It only took a couple minutes to find the spot.
“Mitch, did you do the grappling hooks?” Brody looked back at Mitch.
“Yeah, here,” Mitch handed forward the device and the couple quickly helped each other place them on securely. With that done both of them started their descent. Mitch carefully put on his black gloves then proceeded to lift up the glass dome. Brody delicately placed the golden egg. Both smiled at each other, fistbumping before making quiet explosion sounds. With the counterfeit in place the pair made their way outside. Their earpieces crackled to life when they excited the air duct.
“Brody, Mitch. Did you place the relic?” Sophie’s voice appeared in their ears.
“Yeah, we did.” Brody responded.
“Good! That’s good. Then you need to get to the van now. The mission is complete.”
“Okay, we’re on our way.”
Brody and Mitch shared a look before making their way outside the party.
“Gotta say, you were pretty badass,” Mitch smiled over at his girlfriend. Brody returned the smile then leaned over and placed a quick kiss on his cheek.
“Thanks, now let’s go,” She grabbed his arm and the two ran out. They were some of the last to get out. Everyone was back in the van save for Louis and Marlon who sprinted out of the party still covered in body suits in the wallpaper’s design. Mitch reached out his hand to help them up, snorting loudly when he did. “Wow, you look like dumbasses.”
“Hot dumbasses!” Louis declared with a smile.
“We look so stupid,” Marlon shook his head.
“I don’t know, it’s not that bad,” Sophie paused in her treatment of Minnie’s injuries while Renata wrapped herself tightly around Minnie’s waist and smiled up at Marlon. Louis’ face fell when he noticed Clem’s injuries. “Clem! What the hell happened?” Louis moved his hand towards Clementine’s face, freezing for a moment before gently placing it on her cheek.
“Carver happened. But I’m fine.” She gave a comforting smile up at Louis, leaning her face into his warm touch. Then she turned to face the front of the van. “Prisha, get us out of here.”
“On it,” Prisha started up the van and within seconds they were gone. The golden relic in their hands, a wealth of information hidden within. It hadn’t gone as smoothly as they had hoped, but as Clementine looked around at her team she felt pride swell within her heart.
They had made it out and with this one mission they may have just saved the world.

<Previous Chapter
It was warmer than it should be for the time of year but Texas weather didn't obey seasonal temperatures.  The sky was gray and the rain wasn't far away. It had been a few weeks, almost a month since Jared put that promise ring on Lexi's finger and for the first time they were both able to travel to Austin for the weekend together.
Boxes were stacked around the lake house and Lexi's belongings scattered around the small house filled with Lexi’s belongings.
"Keep or toss?" Jared asked holding up some throw pillows.
"Uh, leave those here. I rather the ones on your bed."
Jared tossed the pillow on the bed and walked over to Lexi wrapping his arms around her from behind. "You mean OUR bed." He kissed her neck.
"What's going on in here?" Jensen asked walking in, Jared looking up with a small smile before letting go og Lexi’s waist. "Jare, your windows are down on your car and it looks like it's gonna rain soon."
"Thanks Man." Jared walked past Jensen giving a slap to his shoulder.
Jensen looked around at the condition of the little house and then turned to Lexi. "What's with all the boxes?"
"Uh, Well,” Lexi taped up another box then looked at her brother. “We talked about it and I'm moving in with Jared."
"Oh really?" Jense looked at her with raised brows. "After only a month of being back together?”
"Yes. And we have been off and on for years. It's past time and I'm beyond ready."
Jensen walked over to lexi grabbing her hand. "Does this have anything to do with that pretty little ring Jared put on an important finger?"
"No-yes.” She pulled her hand from his. “No. It's just a promise ring, Jay."
Jared walked in handing Lexi mail. "Mail came." He tossed the stack of envelopes on the counter. "Hey, Did you get one of those change of address things yet?"
"Not yet. I was gonna grab one at the post office later." She turned to her boyfriend. "Tell my brother this is just a promise ring." She held up her hand pointing to her ring finger.
"Yes." Jared looked at Jensen. "It's just a promise ring. I'll make sure she is one hundred percent ready before I pop the question for real."
"I thought that necklace was the promise ring." Jensen gestured to the visible charm around her neck. "That it was your weird way of doing things."
"It was." Jared Jared sat on te arm of the sofa. "But when I gave her that, no one knew about us. It was the only way I could give her a gift to say I love you without being obvious."
“Sneaky.” Jensen eyes Jared. "Even back then you had him wrapped." Jensed nudged Jared’s foot.
"No, he had ME wrapped.” Lexi corrected. "I hung on his every kiss like a hopeless romantic." Jared placed a kiss on her lips and Lexi rolled her eyes, giving him a light push in the chest. "I used to hate those people. You know, the kind that are all lovey dovey?"
"Now you are one.” Jensen laughed poking fun at his sister.
“Now that we aren't hiding our relationship anymore I put a ring on it. I want everyone to know she's mine." Jared gave her another peck on the cheek before going over to the fridge and pulling out two beers.
"That's another thing." Jensen grabbed one of the beers from Jared’s extended hand. "Will yall go public, now?"
"That's actually something we wanted to talk to you about." Jared sat back on the arm of the couch. "Would you be okay with it, if we did make it public?" Jared looked from Lexi to Jensen. "Before we just say ‘hey, were together’ we want to know if you're okay with it?"
"The real question is would Lexi be okay with it?" Jensen spoke looking only at Lexi. "Once you step out with Jared you won’t be able to take it back." Jared followed Jensen’s gaze towards Lexi. "Before you got recognized occasionally as my little sis. The you got more recognition with modeling. But, this will put you all the way out there. You've seen how it is will Gen and Danneel."
"I know. But, I can't hide in the background forever. Jared made it clear he wants me in his life for the long hall."
"When you do decide to come out, don't wear something skimpy or see through." Jensen put up a finger. "And if you can't sneeze without flashing someone dont wear it."
Lexi laughed. "Jensen be real. All my clothes like that are at Jared's, for him." She gave a little shoulder wiggle.
"I- I did not want to know that" He stood and walked out.
~
It had been a few months since Jared and Lexi had moved in together officially. They still hadn’t showed up to an appearance or anything together as an official couple, but they were spotted around Austin and Vancouver together. Never anything like kissing or even holding hands. But, it was raising questions on if the two were indeed an item. Although they kept to themselves for now they did get a giggle from magazine articles with their assumptions and pictures. Jared got asked a few times in interveiws if they were an item and he smoothly avoided answering.
They’d settled into a good routine for themselves as they both did work that involved traveling. Lexi was still working on the new store in Vancouver and sometimes had to stay behind on weekends when Jared flew to Austin. Lexi made plenty of trips to LA for the store and magazine, sometimes being gone for two to three weeks at a time.
But when they did get their schedules to link up, they were inseparable. Sure, when apart they facetimed daily, often three or four times a day. They texted throughout the day as well as phone calls. They stayed plugged in to the others life away and it worked for them. Even the kids enjoyed the times when they were at their dad’s and aunty Lexi was there. It made for twice the play and twice the junk food.
It was a comfort to Genevieve knowing that the woman that Jared had in his life was someone who cared for and loved the kids like Lexi did. It gave her peace knowing that Lexi would protect her children as her own and even place her children before herself. That is something very rare in situations like these. And Genevieve knew that because she knew Lexi.
“Jared, you home?!” Lexi shouted letting her bag hit the floor loudly.
She listened carefully grinning when she heard nothing. It was a game they played. When they were set to arrive home around the same time If they would place bets on who would make it home first. The loser had to do the laundry from their trips.
“Babe?!” She called again, still not hearing anything. Walking into the kitchen she grabbed the pile of mail from the counter and started absentmindedly flipping through it. Lexi paused for a moment getting ready to turn around when Jared’s arms wrapped around her causing her to jump with a yelp. “You jerk! You scared the hell outta me!” She smacked his arm turning to face him.
Jared laughed pulling her into a kiss. “I win.” He spoke between kisses. “I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you, too.” Lexi wrapped her arms around his neck. “That was a long week. Ellie says hi by the way.”
“How is she?”
“Still a sassy redhead.” Lexi smiled, dropping her arms from Jared’s shoulders. “Did Gen send you that cute video of Shep’s school play?” She grabbed water from the fridge. “He was too precious!”
“Yes! And hopefully we will be able to make it to the open house Wednesday night.”
“I told Gen I’ll pick the kids up from school and get them fed so you two can just go on over to the school that evening.” Lexi hopped up onto the counter.
Jared stood in front of her his hands on her hips. “You don’t want to come to the open house?”
“Wouldn’t that be weird? Mom, dad and Auntie Lexi that no one knows is dating daddy.”
“Well, if you say it like that-”
“Besides, I went last time when you had to stay in Vancouver.”
“Yeah, I remember. One of the other moms thought you and Gen were a lesbian couple.” Jared chuckled.
“I mean I went for you so why not come full circle and do Gen, too?” Lexi said sarcastically before laughing.
“Can I watch?” Lexi smacked his arm. “How would you feel about a nice long hot shower?” Jared nuzzled her nose with his.
“Depends, are you joining?” She lifted her head and kissed him.
“Absolutely.” Jared lifted her around his waist and didn’t set her back down until they were in his bathroom.
They stayed in that bedroom for the rest of the night. The clock was creeping close to eleven pm and they were still tangled together in bed. Jared was pressed against her from behind, one hand gripping her hip tightly his opposite arm wrapped around her shoulders, his knees holding her thighs apart as he slid in and out of her at a torturously slow pace. Lexi gripped his arm with one hand and slid the other behind his neck pulling his chestnut locks.
"Jared, please!" Lexi panted.
"God, you feel so good." He nipped at her neck thrusting just as slowly as before. "I've missed you so much. I missed being inside you."
Jared was dragging out making her orgasm this time. They've been going at it for roughly six hours now and he was making sure she was thoroughly pleased. Jared loved this feeling. Not just the feeling of being buried to the hilt deep inside of Lexi. His cock encased in her hot, wet passage squeezing tightly around his rock hard erection with Jared pulsing ready to milk him for all he has. It was her beneath him, wiggling and moving from near constant bliss. Bliss from Jared loving her in every way he could.
"Jared." Lexi whined, dropping her head back on his shoulder.
Jared smiled dragging his cock over her g-spot making Lexi buck her hips back against him. "Tell me what you want." Jared spoke in a low graveled voice as he dragged his cck through her pussy again.
"Fuck me."  Jared picked up speed a little. "Fuck, Jared, more."
Jared pulled out and pushed her onto her back climbing back on top of her. He slid back inside of her feeling her pulse around him. He hitched her leg around his hip and grabbed her hands, pushing them over her head. "You sure that's what you want, babygirl?" His voice is sultry and deep almost teasing as he stayed still inside her.
"Yes." She breathed out. "I need you, Jared."
Lexi locked her feet around Jared's legs as he began thrusting deep inside of her. Lexi started feeling that familiar build up, the coil tighten inside of her like it did many times before that night. Jared's knees digging into the bed, his balls tightening as he sped up even more. Lexi moved with Jared neither of them letting up the more that familiar feeling built. Jared let go of a hand placing his hand on her cheek, leaning his forehead on hers. Her eyes were shut, her brow was pulled together and her mouth slightly fell open in pleasure.
"Babygirl," Jared breathed and her eyes fluttered open. He stared down at her in adoration. "I love you." His hips jerked and stuttered as his orgasm hit him. "Fuck!" He moaned snapping his hips forward harshly forehead dropping down to hers.
ÀLexi's hands fell to his back gripping with white finger tips, her orgasm taking her suddenly. She arched into him, her nails raising welts where the dug into his flesh.  Jared didn't still his hips till they were both a shaking, breathless mess.
Jared laid there with his head tucked between her neck and shoulder. They were coming off their high, breath finally slowing. Lexi gently slid her fingers through his sweat dampened hair, she could feel his heart pounding in his chest.
“Jared,” She breathed in an even tone. He lifted his head resting his chin on her chest. “I love you.”
Jared’s eyes were dreamy and blissed out. “I love you, too.” He saw a look in her eyes that was different. Different from the usual love filled gaze she had after making love. “You alright?” He pushed himself up on an elbow to better face her. “You look like you have something on your mind.”
“I- uh- I kind of do.” She pushed herself up into a sitting position. “You know how much I love you and the kids.”
“Yeah.”
I’ve been thinking a- a lot over the past few months and-and things have been going great. Not just with us but with the kids and we have a routine going-” Lexi was rambling as she moved to the sode of the bed and pulled on her panties and t-shirt.
“Lexi, what are you getting at?” Jared asked bluntly slipping his boxers on.
“I want to marry you.” The words flew out of her mouth almost like a single word.
“You what?” Jared was unsure if he heard her correctly.
“I want to marry you.”
“We will. We had that conversation a couple of months ago-”
“No, I mean I want to get married.” She stated more sternly.
“Like-like now?” Jared gestured with a hand. “As in-in the very near future?”
“Yes.” She nodded with a smile.
Jared gave a chuckle leaning in pressing his lips to hers. “I would love that.” He smiled into another kiss before pulling away. “But, we can’t.” He looked away scared to meet her eyes.
“You said someday, why can’t someday be soon?”
Jared looked up to her seeing the disappointment in her eyes. “I want to say yes. There is literally nothing I want more to to make you my wife.” He reached to take her hand. “But I can’t right now.”
Lexi looked at Jared with confusion. “You said when I was ready and I am.”
“Lex, we just got back together-”
“And you know as well as I do how much we love each other.”
“I do know.” He told her seeing how upset she was getting. “Lex, it’s not that I have doubts or anything, I-I,” He ran a frustrated hand over his face. “Damn it. I promised Jensen, okay.” Jared turned away in frustration.
“You what?”
“I didn’t tell you because you would get mad.” He stood with his hands on his hips, back still facing her.
“When did this happen?”
“Few weeks ago when you left for LA.” He turned looking at her. “We were kind of drunk and we were talking about you and us.”
“That seems to be a highly popular topic with you two.” Lexi commented with annoyance.
“He asked me not to marry you til after you were at least twenty two. That it would ease his mind in knowing you are where you want to be in life and you’re not rushing things.”
“And you agreed.” She stated.
“Yeah.”
“Well,” She nodded. “Thanks for making that decision for me.” Lexi said calmly, crossing her arms over herself.
“I know I’m gonna love you just as much in two years as I do right now. I also know that there is nothing that I wouldn’t do to keep you. That’s why I agreed. Because I know we will still be in love then just like we are now.”
Lexi stood walking over to Jared. “Any other agreements you made with my brother about my life that I should be aware of?” Jared avoided her eyes again letting her know that there was. “What else did you two agree on?”
Jared took a breath. “I- I told him I wouldn’t get you pregnant till after we got married.”
“How much did you two drink that night?” She spat out.
Jared looked at her confused. “What?”
“The night this conversation went on, how much had you two drank?”
“A-a lot.” He stammered out and Lexi started laughing letting her arms drop, shakng her head as she turned walking out of the room. Jared took a breath, slipped on his jeans and followed her into the kitchen. “Lex?” She looked at him from the kettle she was filling. “Are you-”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” SHe waved her hand placing the kettle on the stove.
“Are you sure you’re not mad?” He shoved his hands in his pockets.
“No.” She placed her cup down and walked up to Jared. “Look, I get where Jensen is coming from, I really do. He doesn’t want me to rush my life and he wants me to enjoy it as it happens. So, no. I’m not mad.” She rested her arms on his shoulders. “And you, you just want to do what's right by me in every way possible. So, I get why you agreed.” Jared placed his hands on her waist. “But let me make one thing clear.” She looked deep into Jared’s eyes. “I will do what I want to do when I want to do it. Always have, always will. No matter what Jensen or you say or have agreed to. Got it?”
Jared bit his bottom lip. “I love it when you get bossy.”
She kissed his lips. “Don’t change the subject.”
“I got it.” He nodded in understanding.
“Good.” She kissed him again. “So how about the day after my twenty second birthday?”
Jared gave a laugh. “You really want to marry me don't you?”
Lexi nodded before kissing him again. “I want to marry you, and then I want to give the kids a baby brother or sister. Maybe two.”
“Oh really now?” Jared looked at her in surprise.
“Uh huh.” She hopped up on the counter.
“That would be five kids.”
“You’re right. Let's have three to we can get an even number.”
“Now you’re talking!” He pointed a finger grabbing a a box of tea bags and cup for himself from the cabinet. “Where are we gonna put all these kids?”
“We’ll get a bigger house, duh!” She told him reaching to put the tea bag into her cup. “And a huge yard with a pool and a space to grill. Maybe on a few acres so we can have more dogs and we can let them run around.”
“So, a huge piece of land, a bigger house, more kids, more dogs and basically chaos all around.”
“Yep!” She nodded with a smile.
“And you want all this with me?”
“Mhm.”
Jared leaned in close with his forehead on hers. “Sounds like an amazing plan.”
“I’ll wait as long as you want. Just as long as it’s you in the end.” Lexi looked up into his eyes. “As long as it’s you waiting for me at the altar one day I’ll wait.”
“I promise I won’t keep you waiting long.” He told her kissing her.
~
Eight weeks later.
They were back in Austin after having spent two weeks in Vancouver while Jared and Jensen were filming. Lexi had doubled up taking a job filling on for one of the hair and makeup ladies while she was on maternity leave.
The store she was heading was finishing and she barely had to do anything other than give the okay on certain things via e-mail. She agreed to the job as soon as she was asked. Now she and Jared has the chance to spend time together during filming.
“Hey Punk, where’s your boy toy?” Jensen asked walking into the kitchen at Jared and Lexi’s house.
“He is outback with the kids.” She answered, placing a bag on the counter. “I think they are building a play area thingy.”
“A play area thingy?” Jensen eyed her.
“You know what I mean.” She laughed.
“Got anything good?” Jensen tried to peep into the bag.
“Oh, uh” She said suddenly grabbing for the bag.
Jensen moved the bag away playfully.”What’s in here?” He grinned at his sister. Lexi reached for the bag from her much taller brother. Jensen turned his back to Lexi and looked into the little brown paper bag. His smile faded. “What’s this?” He held the small box in his hand then looked at Lexi. “Are you- are you pregnant?” His tone was low and obviously upset.
Lexi snatched the box from Jensen’s hand and shoved it back in the bag. “This is not your business.”
“Yes, it is. You’re twenty!” Jensen’s voice may have been low but the anger was still clear.
“That stupid deal you made was with Jared, not me!”
“So you got pregnant on purpose?!”
“No!” SHe looked at him appaled by his accusation. “I’m not stupid!” Lexi snapped spinning around bracing herself on the counter.
“Then what the hell, Lexi?!”
“Jared doesn’t even know.” Her voice calmed.
“What?” Jensen grabbed her arm turning her to face him. “What do you mean he doesn’t know?”
Swiping a hand across her forehead Lexi looked at Jensen. “It was when I was in LA.”
“In LA? What did you cheat on Jared?!”
“No!” Lexi snapped again. “I would never cheat on Jared you idiot!” Lexi huffed. “I was so busy in LA that the last week I was there I forgot to take like two or three of my birth control pills.” She looked at Jensen. “When we got back to Austin we-”
“I get it.” Jensen held up a hand. “Didn’t you use a condom?”
“I didn’t realize I’d skipped till the day after I got back. After we’d spent the night... I didn’t want to freak Jared out because of that stupid promise so I just hurried and got the morning after pill the next morning.” Lexi took another deep breath. “He takes his promises with you to heart.” Jensen rubbed his forehead in irritation. “Look, this is between him and me okay?”
“Lex, you’re a kid.” Jensen tried to reason.
“No!” She pointed a finger at him. “I am an adult. I made a mistake as an adult. I will deal with this with my boyfriend because it’s our problem. Jared and I, we will make that decision together.”
“When did you become so independent?” Jensen looked at her.
“I blame it on my brother.” Lexi smiled up at him. “Just don’t say anything to Jared yet. Please.”
“You want me to lie to him?” Jensen gestured towards the backyard. “He’s my best friend, Lex.”
“And I’m your sister.” She eyes him intensely.
“Jay, hey!” Jared’s voice sounded from the back double doors.
“Hey man.” Jensen answered pushing the brown bag out of sight.
Later in the backyard Jensen and Jared sat back sipping beer while the kids ran around. Jensen hadn’t said anything to Jared about their conversations earlier which Lexi was glad for. She knew Jensen didn’t like keeping anything from his bestfriend. But, she needed to figure this out before she let the cat out of the bag. She needed to accept it herself before she could ecpect Jared to.
“Want another beer?” Jared asked Jensen standing.
“Yeah.”
“Lex, you want one?” Jared pointed to her.
“No. I’ll pass.” She said casually.
“Probably a good idea with how your stomach has been the last few days.” Jared commented.
“Upset stomach?” Jensen looked at Lexi.
“Yeah, she’d been having an uneasy stomach for a few days now. Puked a few times, too. I think it's that bug going around.” Jared assured before walking into the house.
When Jared was out of earshot Jensen looked at Lexi. “How late are you?”
“Two months.”
“Two months late, upset stomach, puking,” Jensen counted off on his fingers.
“Why do you think I got the test?”
“How has he not put this together himself?”
“Because he doesn’t know I’m two months late.”
Jensen simply shook his head then Jared walked back out and it was like their current conversation didn’t happen.
That evening after Jensen left and Jared gathered the kids to bring them to Genevieve’s Lexi stood in her and Jared’s bathroom leaning on the counter waiting for the timer on her phone to go off.
BEEP
BEEP
BEEP
Lexi tapped her phone alarm off and grabbed the pregnancy test from the counter, her eyes zoning in on that tiny result window.
“Fuck.”

The Walking Dead 7x14: Death Wish
Tumblr media
Guess what guys. I really liked this episode of The Walking Dead. I know this is shocking for you all to hear after my season's worth of complaining and nitpicking, but this episode actually incorporated everything I really like about the show. Last week I talked about how the character's are consistently the strongest element of TWD and also that I longed for Maggie - this week was a celebration of both! Hooray!
Tumblr media
The episode started by giving us an almost silent recap of what has been going on in Hilltop this whole time. In a nutshell: Maggie is crushing it as a benevolent leader with the heart of a warrior and a tummy full of baby, Sasha is faithfully leveling up the fighting skills of the people of Hilltop whilst nursing a low key death wish, Enid is making peanut butter snack trays, Jesus is Jesus, and Gregory is still the worst. We also see that a guilt-ridden Daryl has returned to Hilltop and spends his time mournfully whittling. This relatively serene opening is shattered by Rosita's arrival and suicide mission proposition to Sasha. The jarring shift back to sound after an otherwise peaceful sequence actually gave that moment the gravity it deserved. That proposition was deserving of a redo, when we saw the scene the first time it felt almost thrown away.
Tumblr media
Also the show "officially" outed Jesus (who is gay in the comic books) with an offhand comment. The Walking Dead has done a nice job writing characters who happen to be gay versus characters who are explicitly defined by their gayness, that being said it's still frustrating that the show's only lesbian relationship ended in horrible death (for more see the Bury Your Gays trope which disproportionately affects women). ANYWAY, I'm happy that there is another badass, visible, LGBT character on the show and please don't kill him because I love him.
Tumblr media
Moving on- Sasha and Rosita ghost through a pile of wood as the Saviors pull up to Hilltop. This Savior squad is led by Simon (aka Steven Ogg aka Trevor from GTA aka the best) who is easily my favorite Savior and sometimes my overall favorite character. Yes, he is a huge asshole but you can't help but love the guy. He hits all the character notes that Negan should be hitting, Simon is capable of both brilliant comedy and also real intimidation. I am more than ready to never see Negan again, but I will truly miss Simon when he meets his inevitable doom. Simon is a man who clearly loves his work, and when that work includes mind fucking Gregory (who is the worst), who can blame him? Simon is so likable that even stupid Gregory tries to emulate his casual threatening attitude (it does not go over well and will likably be the cause of his downfall. Maggie forever.)
Tumblr media
As the Saviors mill about Hilltop, Daryl is forced to confront (literally) Maggie when they have to hide together in a storage cellar. Maggie absolving Darryl of responsibility for Glenn's death was a truly touching moment, and seeing Daryl cry cut through my black soul right to my poor stone heart. Their hug (there have been a number of great Daryl hugs this season) felt like a fitting conclusion to the period of mourning that many of our survivors have found themselves in since the season premiere.
Tumblr media
Lastly, this was a great episode for Rosita and Sasha. These two ladies have of late been defined by their romantic attachment to Abraham and their conflict with each other over it. It is disheartening to see women still fighting over men even at the end of world, but I thought this episode did justice to both. Rosita has long been an impenetrable character, prior to this we have only seen her as a love interest or as a veritable swiss-army knife of survival hacks. Seeing her finally open up in the face of her assumed death was extremely rewarding and made me excited for the first time about the future of the character. Sasha clearly thought so too and made the choice to go on what she believes is a suicide mission in order to spare Rosita's life. Sasha clearly saw herself in Rosita's anger and grief, and in the end the two women were able to unite rather than continue to tear each other apart. The feels were reals.
Tumblr media
While I am sad to see Sasha go (for she has a starship awaiting her on CBS), this ending does make a certain amount of sense. Sasha has lost everyone she has been closed with (a brother and now two love interests) and she now believes she is doing what is best to protect those left, including Rosita. If this is to be her end, then it is a fitting one at least. Hopefully she is able to take out Negan before we say goodbye for good.
Tumblr media
Next week it looks like we are making a return to the All Lady, All Killer seaside community. Hopefully it doesn't go totally shit (it almost certainly will).
This episode successfully told two tight stories that both furthered the plot and also had authentic emotional resolution. What's more it boasted meaningful character development and Bechdel test-smashing realness. This is something that as viewers we all know TWD dead to be capable of, but has been increasingly rare as of late. With ONLY 2 EPISODES left it feels like we are suddenly running out of time with which to wrap up this season, but after this episode I am feeling cautiously optimistic.

alright, let’s get going here. the last 24 hours or so have been fairly odd, at least the first 12, because after I logged off last night and tried to fall asleep I found myself unable to do so. Usually when something like this happens it’s because I forgot to take some of the meds I need to fall asleep, but I knew I had taken them because I had specifically checked to make sure I had them before taking them that night. so I really don’t know what that was about, but I ended up being up to at least 5 am, that was the last time I checked the clock anyway. I did go on my phone at some points at ended up in a pinterest spiral of looking at different candy recipes, so I now have like 6 different types of candies I want to make right now (like, twix, homemade jolly ranchers, and homemade pop rocks to name a few) so that was slightly good at least. eventually I did fall asleep, and woke up to my 1:30 pm alarm. My original plan for today was to get up at 11 and go vote in the Chicago Mayor’s election today before I had the webinar from the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund at 2. Since it took me forever to go to sleep I decided to switch it up and vote afterwards, so I woke up in time to get set up for the webinar. It was pretty interesting, about the intersection of disabilities and sexual harassment law, definitely a lot to learn there, this was part 1 so part 2 will be next week. I was also looking at recipes while it was going on (because I like to multitask) and made a short grocery list for the candy recipes. So when the webinar was over at 3:30 I got changed into actual clothes and ran out to go vote. Luckily for me my voting location is literally just across the street from me, and at this time of day it was virtually abandoned, like two other voters in there, so it took me very little time to get set up and into voting. There was a total of 14 candidates running for Mayor (none of which are actually aligned with political parties, they’re all just running on their own platform) which is a tad insane, and there’s been smear ads running on tv for months now about it, along with incessant text messages from different campaigns that are annoying AF. but my decision was based on the fact that there was precisely one candidate who had mentioned juvenile justice reform in any of the ads I saw from anyone, so I voted for her (the fact that she was a WOC and not a white man was also a big plus). So I got out of there in less than 10 minutes total, and walked down the street to the grocery store to get eggs and some random ingredients I needed. They didn’t end up having everything I wanted (I mean, to be fair your typical grocery store probably isn't going to carry non-fat dry milk powder, but I tried) but I got gelatin and heavy cream (for the caramel) and some extra fine sugar (which is not the same thing as powdered sugar) and a few other random things. They only had the jumbo pack of gelatin left that came with 32 packets and was a whopping $15, but given that they didn’t have several other things I wanted I just said fuck it and got it anyway. I’m sure I’ll put it to good use. Checked out and headed home, when I walked in the door kitty was trying to examine the door crack (like where the hinges are) that comes open when the door opens, and when I went to close it I heard a very pained screech, at which point I saw that she’d managed to get one of her paws stuck in the crack, so I had to reopen the door to let her get it out, then of course she darted away and was freaking out and I was just like !!! baby!!! Just let me make sure you’re okay!!! so I chased her down after a few minutes and picked her up, thankfully there was no visible injury on her paws so that was comforting at least. Like ya really gotta scare me like that kitty??? smh. Anyway. I put the groceries away and then started to get set up for the podcast episode we were going to record tonight after having to postpone it from last night. so we did that, I won’t spoil anything but it’s about 30 minutes long and we talk about the casting news as well as some of Batwoman’s appearances in the comics, and overall I think it went pretty well, so I’m pleased that should be coming out soon. After we finished with that I turned on the tv and went to amazon prime where I decided to start their new show “Lorena” that all the true crime groups I’m in on fb have been raving about for weeks now. In case you’re not familiar, it follows the story of Lorena Bobbit, who made international headlines after cutting her husband’s penis off (and not gonna lie, I was a bit of a giggling mess throughout the first episode). But it gets a lot more into how much she was abused and raped by him and just how much of a disgusting shitty person he was, so it’s really interesting. Just before 8 I switched over to actual cable to watch The Gifted season finale. I wasn’t sure how they were going to wrap everything up in one episode, but they actually did a fairly good job with it I’d say. Major spoilers ahead, **YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** Reed :( god that was so heartbreaking, I was dead. But it was such a self-sacrificial thing he did for the safety of his family and the world at large by taking down Reeva. On the other hand, I was very glad to see Clarice return and not be dead, because I very much like her as a character and was saddened at her apparent death. And yeah, it was a really solid episode that I liked a lot, I like cried at the end when they showed Lorna and Marcos with their baby, like all the tears honestly lol. So I liked that a lot. After that was over I kept the news on because they were talking about the election results coming in. So the deal was in order to win, a candidate had to get more than 50% of the vote, and if nobody got that high, the top two would be in a run-off election at the beginning of April. Now, with 14 candidates, the chances anyone was gonna reach 50% were pretty damn slim. I was happy to see though that the candidate I voted for was in second place and ultimately remained there and got a spot in the run-off election with like 15% of the vote, and the candidate in the lead with 17% of the vote was also a WOC who also happens to be an out lesbian, so that’s pretty awesome. I’ll have to do more thorough research on both of them before the run-off election. So basically I kept that on for the rest of the night and followed it until I decided to get ready for bed, then procrastinated, and now I am here. Amazingly (probably only because I took my meds) I am getting sleepy now, so I’m going to at least attempt to fall asleep, hopefully I’ll have (much) more success than last night, wish me luck. Goodnight dears. Hope you’re having a great week.

Crystal Chappell on taking “Venice” to New Orleans, “A Million Happy Nows” and more
*contains spoilers for Venice Season Five What can you say about Crystal Chappell that hasn’t already been said? A true powerhouse in the talent and creative departments, Chappell has been an icon in the lesbian/bi/queer community for years for her tireless efforts to bring gay and female-centric stories to life. Season five of Venice the Series recently aired, and plans for season six are underway. Chappell is also the star and executive producer of the lesbian drama, A Million Happy Nows, which is currently on the festival circuit. I had the pleasure of chatting with Chappell about the series, the film and a few other tidbits you’ll want to read about.   BellaBooks: Five seasons so far of Venice: eight years, two Emmys, and this little series sure has made a tremendous mark. What are some of the things you are most proud of? Crystal Chappell: Oh gosh. Um, the fans really. All the people who’ve supported us over the years. Their tenacity, their kindness. I guess the people in general–the fans, the cast, that continued to come back over the years. You know, it’s an unusual thing to have somebody call you up a year or so after you’ve finished shooting the last season and say, “Hey, do you want to do this again?” and then they come back and the fans come back as well. I think that’s the thing, when I go back over this experience. I think that’s amazing, and producing is one thing but when people keep showing up, it’s like–yay party! How lucky am I?   BB: On the other side of the coin, what have been some of the greatest challenges, putting this show together? CC: Not knowing what I’m doing. You know, that’s always a challenge, isn’t it? I don’t know what the hell I’m doing. And that’s certainly how it started. Thankfully, I don’t mind failing, and I have. And you get better with every failure, right? You know it’s just basic learning ‘how to’ and also learning within a system that’s already set up. There really aren’t a lot of ‘how tos’ in the new media market or the digital market, at least not when I got started. So, people were sort of holding me to different standards and it was interesting trying to work around people’s ideas of how things should be in the production end of things. But they’ve caught up, and it’s still a bit challenging, but it’s much, much easier than it used to be. BB: So how do you think the three main characters, Gina, Ani and Lara, have grown the most over the years CC: Taking into consideration that I wrote this season to be the last season, I really wanted to bring some closure to not only plot points but to the evolution of the characters. And I like that Lara, for example, instead of making decisions that would improve her life (I think that’s all something they started doing, quite frankly) but thinking about, that she says “taking the high road” and just getting on with things, and expecting what is. For Annie, it’s not wallowing in any self-pity and really taking care of herself. Learning how to love herself and put herself first. For Gina, she learned to be a less selfish person. They all had, through their interactions with one another, had some kind of growth happen. The stars of Venice, Crystal Chappell (Gina), Jessica Leccia (Ani) and Nadia Bjorlin (Lara) via FB   BB: As we mentioned earlier on, this was supposed to be your last season and in a lot of ways the finale of Season Five feels like a series finally. There’s a huge event that happens, some happy things for some characters but also there’s still a major cliff hanger for another character. At what point did you decide, “You know what? We’re going to go for another season? CC: It really came from a few months of after the first production phase, which was in July of last year. Because I started to see more and more people asking why it has to end and that they would continue to support it. When I decided this was going to be the last season it was because I felt that the stories needed to wrap up. I believe life is a beginning, middle, and end. That I needed to really bring these stories to a closure and I wasn’t sure if people were even going to support this season the way that they did. I was surprised. Whenever you get into a crowd sourcing, you hope for the best. What happened was, not only did we achieve our goal within three weeks, but we surpassed it. And I went, “well they really want to see this last season,” and that’s great and then it just continued. So by the time we got in to July of last year, I was hearing more people talk about wanting it to continue and I thought well, maybe there’s hope for that. And since there was going to be this break between the July shoot and the February shoot, I was able to go in and restructure some stuff in the story and go from there. I’m open to possibility. As long as people want to watch it, I’ll produce it. That’s really how I feel. BB: That’s why people love you so much. CC: (Laughs) Well that’s nice. It’s a blessing. Right back at them, I like them too. It’s been a great ride and I think it’s important. One of the things, the comments that I really took away from when after the season finally aired, was a lovely lady on Twitter who said, “Thank you from an older lesbian woman,” tweeting, “thank you for showing us as we really are, as human beings.” It goes beyond some entertaining story, it’s a reflection of lives that aren’t out there all the time, visible. It’s just a reminder to me of the importance of a show like that.   BB: I hear that Venice is going to be shooting in New Orleans? You’ve got to give us a little taste of this. CC: I’ve been to New Orleans a few times and I just like it. There’s something about it, it’s its own city. It has its own attitude, sort of like New York. There are just certain cities that have attitude. All these people are coming up to me like, “I have a friend in New Orleans” or “I have a chef who owns this restaurant” or “I’ve got this friend who owns this giant house in Lafayette.” You know, I happened to be down there on vacation and I’ve got this shop girl down there who knows I work for them and it was like, “Hey how much do I have to pay you to shoot in my store?” That happens in Los Angeles, never, and that was a factor. So, all of these things were popping into my head, you know I started thinking, oh I see Gina and Ani and I see the architecture. I see the food and jazz. I see mysticism, sensuality, and mystery. It got me really inspired as a writer and I’m thinking, wow why not go on this honeymoon? They deserve it after everything they’ve been through. On their way to New York for Ani’s new job and their first stop is New Orleans. So, there were all these things that were sort of calling me to that city and I thought we’ll go down and we’ll shoot for ten days and we’ll have a totally amazing time. It’ll be fun too and maybe a little humid. (Laughs) BB: (Laughs) Yes, use lots of conditioner. So I’m going to switch a little bit to A Million Happy Nows, which is doing so great of the festival circuit. When do you anticipate it being available to the general public for those who maybe don’t have a film festival in their area? CC: Oh boy. You know, I wish I could answer that. This is all pretty new to me. We’re really taking this one step at a time, popping up all over the place, which is great. And hopefully Shoreline Entertainment, who owns the rights to the film now, will find distribution. I’d love to see it, I’ve actually seen it on the big screen, it’s pretty awesome but I think a streaming resource like Netflix would be amazing. It’s one of those things where you produce it, act in it, and you hand it over and wait for news. BB: Right, you’re in the same boat as everyone else who’s on the festival circuit. CC: (Laughs) Yeah. Often times I hear about those festivals from the fans. So they’re actually on it, I’m getting information from them as well. I’m like in the dark. (laughs)   Venice the Series is available now. For screenings of A Million Happy Nows, follow them on Twitter and check out their website. http://dlvr.it/PNzLCC
