Ninjago 2023 Fandom Survey: Seasons
Welcome, welcome, to the Ninjago Fandom's 2023 fan survey! Originally I was going to make one giant mega-post for all the results, but 1) that would not be feasible with Tumblr's image limitations and 2) quite frankly would burn me out. Instead, I've opted to break down the results in separate posts and post them as I have the energy to :D
Without further ado, here is the breakdown of how Ninjago's eighteen* seasons rank!
*for the purposes of this survey, the Pilots will be referred to as Pilots, SotFS as Season 11 collectively, The Island as Season 14, Seabound as Season 15, and so on.
We begin with the votes and propaganda for favorite seasons, in chronological order.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Out of the first four entries to Ninjago's television catalog, Rise of the Snakes takes the lead for fan favorite!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tournament of Elements and Possession both placed in the top five for season ranking, and thus they earn a little word cloud!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fun fact: out of the 17 people who put Skybound as their favorite season, 12 of them also had Jay as a favorite ninja. Who'da thunk?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now we get to the Wildbrain era! The zane fans are really starving for content huh (said as a SotFS enjoyer lmao)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now we get the highest-placing season and the lowest side-by-side! The Cole stans were fed with this one :D
Tumblr media
We wrap up with Dragons Rising! It looks like the new series is being taken well by fans, with its new characters, animation, and storytelling.
Tumblr media
And here we have the full list of favorite seasons! Master of the Mountain came out on top with 14.7% of the votes, followed by Possession, SoG, ToE, and Hunted. At the bottom, we have The Island, Crystalizd, and Dragons Rising pt1.
Tumblr media
If we look at the list of least-favorite seasons, some interesting observations start to show. Dragons Rising Part 1 is at the bottom of both lists, indicating to me that its lack of favoritism is less from being a bad season than just unremarkable. Clearly Hands of Time maintains its place as least-favorite overall, but it's interesting to me that the Island places higher than SotFs.
Tumblr media
Lastly, we have a list of second-favorite seasons to wrap us up. Most of the Top 5 maintain relatively similar rankings, but Seabound makes a huge jump from 12th place to 5th here! Possession establishes her place as second-favorite easily, followed again by Tournament of Elements.
So there you have it! Do you agree with these rankings? Are you surprised by any? Were there any propaganda points that made you laugh out loud? I'd love to hear them! Apologies again for taking so long to get this out, but I think you all can see the scope of this project now :D If you'd like to see a full list of all the comments that just couldn't fit on the page, you can find them all here.
To wrap this up, what would you like to see the results of next?

Welcome mayors!
I haven't seen a competition for AC, so here you go. This is going to start with preliminary rounds of 6 characters each. These will include both villagers and special characters, like Tom Nook or Isabelle. I'll be including old characters who weren't in New Horizons, like Joan and Tortimer.
In the prelims, the top two from each poll will move on to the next round.
Propaganda is encouraged, but please no death threats or anything super violent. This is supposed to be fun.
I'm in the process of organizing the opening polls and gathering photos, but I don't mind starting this in a few days. Please reblog so we can have a better turn out.
Thanks!

do you think daemon and daenerys were really in love or their love story was just propaganda?
Tumblr media
I’ve addressed my feelings about Daemon/Daenerys in this response about Daenerys’ character, and briefly to a baiting anon who insinuated it was propaganda. This pairing is no Rhaegar/Lyanna, where multiple people have their own views on whether Rhaegar loved her or it was prophecy or she loved him or she was kidnapped; everyone, Black or Red, from Doran Martell (Daenerys’ descendant by Maron Martell) to Ser Barristan (Kingsguard knight, Targaryen loyalist, and killer of Maelys Blackfyre) to Eustace Osgrey (landed knight who supported Daemon I in the first Rebellion) believes those two were in love. It’s not enough for Yandel to dismiss Daemon/Daenerys as Blackfyre propaganda when high ranking Targaryen descendants/supporters believe the story as well. If I needed any more proof, GRRM himself said in a 2012 interview: “Despite Daemon and Daenerys being in love, her brother the king, Da3ron the Good, was more concerned with matters of state than matters of love.” So due to all the evidence in favor, I believe that Daemon and Daenerys were about as in love as a 14-year-old knight and a 12-year old princess who happened to be half-siblings/cousins could be (I have very different feelings on young teens falling in love than GRRM does, considering Fire and Blood) Due to age and the established characters as we know them, I believe the relationship was chaste and ended after Daemon married Rohanne.
However, just because the relationship ended long before obviously doesn’t mean it wasn’t used by both sides to understand some of the causes of the First Rebellion. GRRM has used a romance to hide the serious political issues of ASOIAF military conflicts elsewhere: how Rhaegar/Lyanna is referred to as the cause of Robert’s Rebellion, casting Rhaegar as a tragic figure, when it was really the arrest warrant for Ned and Robert after Aerys had unlawfully executed Brandon and Rickard among others. Criston Cole’s motivation is given similar ambiguity in AFFC (ignoring how F&B1 made most of the Greens 1D villains here): whether it was to control a weaker king, to respect Andal custom, or because Rhaenyra had been his lover who later spurned him. It’s not a stretch—given the parallels between Ned/Robert and Daemon’s situation—that Da3ron’s arrest warrant for Daemon as the immediate cause for the Blackfyre rebellion gets “softened” in public consciousness by a star-crossed romance between Daemon and Daenerys. The rebellion against Da3ron had been brewing for years due to a stacked court/nepotism, an unbalanced treaty, unaddressed issues left from Aegon’s reign, etc—but the idea that Daemon/Daenerys had a romance ignores that and turns a war that tore the continent apart into an easy to understand, spurned lover drama. And that goes for both sides: the Reds believed these rumors as well, in order to avoid considering why half the kingdoms rebelled for a young landed knight with an Essosi wife. Xenophobia/racism plays into it also, since Daemon/Daenerys erases the Tyroshi Rohanne (which makes it easier to believe the Reds welcomed this propaganda, considering the Blackfyre supporters in exile couldn’t very well ignore her, and those in Westeros wanted to crown her children.)
If you want a First Blackfyre-era romance that was probably entirely Red propaganda, consider Aegor Rivers/Shiera Seastar. Unlike Daemon/Daenerys, no Blackfyre supporter ever said Aegor was interested in her, only Barristan and Yandel obliquely mentioned it (though not enough for it to be a reason for Aegor to rebel, when Yandel is desperate enough to bring up his Bracken heritage as a factor). GRRM never said anything about Aegor in Shiera’s SSM and vice versa, let alone something as blatant as “despite being in love...” Furthermore, it turns someone with a very justified grievance against House Targaryen, and later spent 45 years of life trying to unseat their tyrannical regime for his adopted family, into a jilted lover who just exists for Bl00draven to defeat. (That the aesthetics resemble a mediocre Popeye cartoon makes it more ridiculous.) But I believe Daemon/Daenerys‘ love story—like several others told around ASOIAF military conflicts— had a kernel of truth that was used to mask the more complicated political situation.

I created my tumblr mage just to follow mage-rights activists like yourself. That being said, how do you deal with the heavily anti-mage rhetoric in DAI? Every corner you turn in the Hinterlands has some random hostile mage, some dressed in Anders' DA2 outfit. The mages allying with Tevinter. And then nearly ALL the companions save maybe Blackwall, Dorian, Cole and Solas being against allying with the mages. And do you sympathize with people like Cassandra and Cullen?
Hey there! Welcome to tumblr haha. First off, I wanted to apologize for taking so long to answer this. I haven’t had a lot of time/spoons lately and I wanted to actually put some thought into it as it’s been a while since I played DAI fully
So to start, I will say that I still believe a lot of the mage rhetoric in inquisition was specifically intended to make the conflict seen more ‘grey’. It failed miserably, of course, but it really seems like Bioware looked at the player choice stats on origins and DA2 (and DA2 itself was also an attempt to do this, I believe) and the overwhelming mage sympathy (which is true; though most are not as extreme as we are, fandom surveys and stats from multiple sites have shown that most people side with the mages in both games) and wanted to even those out. Which I think is why a lot of strange, non-sensical new pieces of lore suddenly showed up
I’ve talked about a lot of specific examples before (check out my mage rights tag if you haven’t already), so I’ll mostly focus on the ones you’ve asked here. As to how I deal with the issues, well, step 1 is knowing that a lot of it is bad writing that goes directly against previous lore (e.g. Dalish dumping their rare, precious mages in the woods because fuck you). Step 2 is thinking about some of these things and wondering if you can make it make sense in a way that isn’t awful (e.g. the Dalish do not dump their mages in the woods, the one tribe who does is an outlier and should not have been counted because they are the only ones who do it). And then step 3 is remembering that this is a choice-based RPG and that even though there are limits on your choices, you have the power to make the game what you want to a certain degree (e.g. my canon inquisition worldstate is that Sebastian was not recruited in DA2 because, quite frankly, I don’t want to deal with his invasion of Kirkwall lmao)
[I’ve put the rest behind a cut because ho boy, this is super long]
For the Anders outfits, there are 2 ways that can help in terms of thinking about it: 1) This is actually a fairly common coat-style in Ferelden, but not in Kirkwall which is why it was unique to Anders in DA2, or 2) the rebelling mages have taken Anders’ aesthetic as a symbol of revolution. So depending on how radical you want to get lmao, both of those work comfortably for me (the truth is probably something in between tbh). The mages allying with Tevinter is kind of the same thing about how Anders sees Tevinter: he doesn’t see all of the awful things about Tevinter because he’s too focused on the good things. Most mages are oppressed and abused their entire lives; of course many of them would look at a place where their talents are celebrating and see paradise. It’s then easy to overlook whatever negative details they know about and blame them on Chantry propaganda. After all, the Chantry was wrong to demonize mages using hyperbole, so maybe they’re wrong about Tevinter too? They must be, right? Which is an understandable point of view, and of course one Tevinter would be foolish not to take advantage of if they could
(I will also add that the Chantry is mistaken about Tevinter in the focus on blood magic as opposed to, you know, the slavery and all that. But you know)
The companions are hard to deal with; on the last playthrough I did, I actually ended up not recruiting Vivienne because it’s impossible to play pro-mage and have her not hate you (also, bioware, you know that heavy anti-mage opinions are unpopular, so you choose to make the only black woman the most heavily anti-mage companion we’ve seen in the games? Yeah, that’s not suspicious at all…). But the fact that a fair number of them are pro-mage or at least mage-neutral (e.g. Iron Bull is fine with magic, just doesn’t like demons and weird fucky shit) does help some. I know for a fact it’s possible to get full approval with everyone while playing pro-mage aside from Vivienne, which helps some
Now, I do admit to sympathizing with Cassandra because as much as I disagree with her on mages, she does have an open mind. She wants to do what’s right and wants to destroy the corruption and problems with the Chantry and the Circles. That’s noble, I just don’t think she understands how radical the steps needed to actually achieve that really are. If made Divine, she tries to rework the Circles and ends up with basically what we started with, which sucks heavily, but I do believe she tries. She respects the power mages have, but she doesn’t hate or fear them. She aims to find a way that everyone is safe and cared for, she just doesn’t realize that such a thing isn’t possible when an entire group of people are treated like prisoners, even if it’s a nicer prison. I think she could perhaps be convinced, with time, because she is very rational in her opinions, but it doesn’t happen within the game. Leliana, especially hardened, becoming Divine might actually help her with this in time, but we’ll likely never know for sure. Still, she wants to do the right thing and does struggle with what that might be, it’s just that she needs to go further in her attempts and re-examine her biases if she actually wants to achieve that
For Cullen… it’s difficult. When I first played, I sympathized with him more than I do now. It was after thinking about it and reading some meta that I started to sympathize less, and replaying DA2 really sealed it for me. The thing with Cullen is he could have been written in a way that I would sympathize with, it’s just that he wasn’t. His arc is largely focused on recovery and a bit of realizing that the Chantry is pretty awful to Templars as well and this is actually true. Considering most Templars are Chantry-raised orphans who have been indoctrinated their entire lives and people who need a good, respected, decent-paying job to feed their families, it’s clear who the Chantry recruits. Then you get them addicted to drugs they don’t actually need to perform their duties (see: the fact that Alistair is capable of Templar abilities despite never taking lyrium) so they can never leave. It’s convenient to have your military arm forced to comply with whatever you want else be left penniless and addicted to a substance you control. And then take your leashed attack dogs and point them at another group (the mages) they’ve been taught to hate and give them carte blanche, then voila, you get abuses
That said, at no point does he actually address his own responsibility and the abuses he himself has inflicted upon the mages in his care. I understand he went through trauma in the Circle, but so does virtually every mage, and he was responsible for some of that trauma himself. That needs to be acknowledged. You don’t get a free pass to be an abuser just because you’ve experienced trauma. iirc there are some moments where he talks about guilt, but there’s no action to follow, no demonstration of such. I remember thinking if there was just a moment of him apologizing to someone he’d hurt in Kirkwall, some sort of tearful ‘my god, what have I done? I am so sorry’ moment, that would’ve finished it nicely and then I would’ve really liked him. But as it is, that moment doesn’t happen and we’re left with a half-assed redemption arc contained within a full-fledged recovery arc. So like… there is a little bit of sympathy, but it’s very much a case of ‘your tragic backstory explains your actions, not excuses them’. You cannot say ‘mages are not people’ and expect to be believed when you say you feel guilty but never show repentance for it. I needed him to show me proof, not just words, that he had changed and regretted his part in mage oppression, which he did not do. Bottom line is: I needed more. Now, whether that is actually a character fault or bioware choosing not to write it that way because they didn’t feel he needed to truly repent, well, I’ll leave that up for debate lmao
But anyways, I hope this answers some of your questions! You may also be interested in my mage rights masterpost, which is a large collection of pro-mage and pro-Anders meta I gathered up for all of your debating needs. Feel free to send me more asks anytime you like and I will try my best to not take 3 weeks to answer lmao (although I apologize in advance if I do; my brain is awful haha)

Teen Age Music
The 15 (not 10, because I can’t bring myself to cut any of these) albums that I fell in love with as a teenager. Before my friends introduced me to DEVO I didn’t really care about music, except for Linda Ronstadt. “The Queen is Dead” was released one day after my 20th birthday, and it instantly became my favorite album.

Ben Daley: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
A 25-year-old California man who is a leader of a violent white supremacist group has been arrested on federal rioting and conspiracy charges in connection to the August 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Ben Daley and three other members of the Rise Above Movement were taken into custody on October 2 on charges accusing them of traveling to Virginia to engage in violent behavior.
Daley and the other Rise Above Movement members are accused of committing multiple acts of violence against counterprotesters at the Charlottesville rally leaving some of the victims with serious injuries, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia announced. Those acts of violence were captured on photos and videos taken by the media and bystanders, prosecutors said.
Daley and the other Rise Above Movement members were identified as taking part in the violence earlier this year in media reports, including by ProPublica. They were also identified by the anti-fascist group NoCARA. According to ProPublica, the Rise Above Movement surfaced publicly in the spring of 2017 and established itself quickly as one of the most violent groups in the white supremacist scene. Its members train in mixed martial arts and have competed in events in Ukraine and elsewhere, according to its social media posts, which include videos of the group’s members training and fighting. According to ProPublica, RAM has been involved in several melees with counter-protesters.
Daley, of Redondo Beach, was arrested along with three other Rise Above Movement members: Michael Miselis, 29, of Lawndale, California; Tom Gillen, 34, of Rondo Beach, California; and Cole White, 24, of Clayton California, prosecutors said. Miselis is a former employee of the defense contractor Northrop Grumann and was pursuing his Ph.D at UCLA.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Daley & the Other Rise Above Movement Members Face Up to 4 Years in Prison if Convicted
GettyBen Daley, with his face covered in a skull mask, at a rally in Berkeley, California.
Benjamin Daley and the three other men face up to 5 years in federal prison on the rioting charge and up to 5 years in prison on the conspiracy charge if convicted, according to federal law. The criminal complaint charging Daley and the other Rise Above Movement members was filed under seal in August 2018 and unsealed on October 2 when the four men were arrested in California.
According to the criminal complaint, Daley was documented to be at a tiki-torch rally on the University of Virginia campus on August 11, 2017, and at the “Unite the Right” rally in downtown Charlottesville on August 12, 2017. Daley is accused of committing acts of violence against counterprotesters on both days. According to ProPublica, Daley and Tom Gillen, who has also been arrested, were seen yelling, “You will not replace us! Jews will not replace us!” at the base of a Thomas Jefferson statue on the UVa campus. He was also seen in a photo carrying a white banner with a swastika on it, according to The Beach Reporter.
Video of Daley at the Charlottesville rally was uncovered by ProPublica earlier this year:

We’ve reported on 3 of those men before. We first identified Tom Gillen & Ben Daley in this video last October. pic.twitter.com/vg78HdOE7g

You can watch the law enforcement press conference announcing charges against Daley and the other three men below:

“This case should serve as another example of the Department of Justice’s commitment to protecting the life, liberty, and civil rights of all our citizens,” said U.S. Attorney Thomas Cullen, who was appointed by President Donald Trump to oversee Virginia’s Western District. “Any individual who has or plans to travel to this District with the intent to engage in acts of violence will be prosecuted and held accountable for those actions.”
“The events of August 2017 do not reflect the character and values of Virginia’s communities. The impact is still felt by many. Law enforcement’s job is to protect people from harm and to ensure violence like we saw during that time never happens again,” Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Richmond Division Adam S. Lee said in a statement. “It is important for communities like Charlottesville to remember who the good guys are – who is sworn to protect them – and support them in their mission. The FBI has worked extensively with Virginia State Police and our local partners to achieve justice for those injured during the rally. Their partnership is how we have arrived at this point in our investigations. I want to thank them and U.S. Attorney Thomas Cullen and his team in the Western District for their expertise and professionalism.”

2. He Served 7 Days in Jail for Illegally Carrying a Snub Nose Revolver & Has Been Featured Prominently in Rise Above Movement Recruiting Videos
Ben Daley, pictured left, at a Berkeley rally.
Ben Daley was arrested in 2014 and charged with illegal possession of a gun, according to ProPublica. He was found carrying a concealed snub-nosed revolver, the news organization reports. Daley was later sentenced in Los Angeles County court to serve seven days in jail. According to ProPublica, “police also discovered an array of bullets in his pickup truck, including .38-caliber ammunition and .223 rifle rounds, the latter used in bolt-action hunting rifles and military-style assault weapons.”
Daley has been featured prominently in social media posts and recruiting videos posted by the Rise Above Movement. The group’s YouTube page has been limited so that videos cannot be embedded on outside sites and viewers must agree to continue to watch the video after seeing a warning about the content in them. According to the Anti-Defamation League:
R.A.M.’s violent ideology is glorified in the group’s recruitment videos and other online propaganda. The videos cut back and forth from footage of members brawling at demonstrations to scenes of members participating in workout sessions. Their digital propaganda also highlights violence against the left, and features images of members wearing t-shirts emblazoned with phrases like ‘Kill a Commie for Mommy,’ or posing in front of graffiti of the letters GNLS, an acronym for ‘Good Night Left Side,’ a common anti-antifa slogan.
The group’s Twitter and Instagram pages have been suspended, but they continue to post frequently on Gab.ai. The group also sells merchandise and had done so to raise money for Mike Miselis after his identity was exposed by ProPublica.
youtube
The Rise Above Movement originally formed in Southern California as the DIY Division, before evolving into its current form. Along with Daley, several of its members have criminal records, including its founder, Robert Rundo, a Queens, New York, native who was sentenced to prison in 2009 for stabbing a rival gang member during a street fight. Other members joined RAM from Hammerskin Nation, a Nazi skinhead group, ProPublica reports.
“They very much operate like a street-fighting club,” Oren Segal, director of the ADL’s Center on Extremism, told The Associated Press.
The group posted on Instagram in 2017, “We want to rise above all of today’s destructive culture and see the rebirth of our people, strong in mental and physical capacities as our forefathers were. In a time when you can be harmed for your political beliefs or shamed for your heritage, we are here to defend our identity and shared goals.”
According to the ADL, “‘The premier MMA club of the alt right,’ espouses racism, anti-Semitism and intolerance at events and online. Members have been spotted carrying ‘Da Goyim Know’ signs, a reference to an anti-Semitic trope about Jews trying to keep non-Jews ‘in the dark’ about their plans for world domination. During an anti-Muslim rally in San Bernardino, one member held a sign declaring, ‘Rapefugees Not Welcome.’ Several others held a banner that read, ‘Defend America. Islamists Out,’ and depicted lance-wielding crusaders on horseback chasing after fleeing Muslims.”

4. He Has Also Traveled to Rallies Around California, Including Taking Part in Violent Brawls in Berkeley
Ben Daley, with his arms raised in a skull mask, at a Berkeley rally.
Along with being caught on video and in photos at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Daley has also traveled to several other rallies and protests around California, and took part in violent clashes with antifa members and other counterprotesters at a pro-Trump rally in Berkeley in April 2017.
The April 15 rally occurred at Berkeley’s Civic Center Park, according to ProPublica. The news organization wrote, “When leftist counter-protesters showed up to express their contempt for the president and his supporters, RAM, fighting as a pack, chased them down and attacked them — stomping, punching, kicking. Video shows Ben Daley pounding on a man who is trapped on the ground and kicking other opponents. In one incident, Daley and RAM member Robert Rundo manhandled a journalist, Shane Bauer of Mother Jones, shoving him and yelling at him ‘Get the fuck out of here! … Fake news!'”

5. Daley Has Made Anti-Muslim, Anti-Jewish & Other Racist Posts on His Facebook Page & Elsewhere on Social Media
Benjamin Daley and other Rise Above Movement members.
According to the Anti-Defamation League, Benjamin Daley “has a history of using social media to promote anti-Semitic cartoons and conspiracy theories about Jewish control of the banking, media and legal system.”
ProPublica wrote that Daley has used his, “Facebook page to bash ‘Mark Zuckerberg and his Facebook Jew police’ for taking down his ‘anti Muslim posts’; to suggest that African Americans are ‘shit’ and that former President Obama is a leech; and to cheer the fatal shooting of a black man. ‘Good riddance,’ he wrote.”

*****”We know he’s crazy, we have to start protecting ourselves.” This is just one of the lines from Dave Letterman in a New York magazine interview that centered mostly on Trump. He has no qualms about calling things out. “How is a white supremacist the chief advisor to our President?” “If we get a President sometime soon who does not have a mental disorder, twitter will be useful.” You must look it up, it is worth a read!
*****Rihanna received Harvard’s Humanitarian award.
*****Roger Stone, big supporter and surrogate for Trump tried to discredit the FBI over the Iraq war. Charlie Rose had to set him straight and tell him it was a CIA report that had revealed the possible weapons of mass destruction. The man, who has a Nixon tattoo that spans his shoulders, is also under investigation for collusion with the Russians.
*****The White house is talking about creating propaganda to whip up the anti- immigrant hysteria even more: VOICE: Victims of immigration crime engagement. Some call this racist and how genocide begins.
*****Dancing with the stars is back with Charo, Mr.T, Nancy Carrigan, Simone Biles and Chris Kattan.
*****Radio shows have come full circle to become podcasts. The more things change, the more they stay the same. We still seem to like to just listen to people talk. Check out Karina Longworth with You Must Remember This. With Feud (next up for Feud: Charles and Di) going strong on FX, it is a good time to listen to her Bette/Joan episode. With Manson in the news again, there is a 12 part episode on his part in Hollywood.
*****Ann- Margret is back with Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin in Going in Style.
*****Baskets has been given the greenlight for season 3!
*****Louis CK and Albert Brooks are bringing the animated The Cops to TBS.
*****Shemar Moore will be making an appearance on the season finale of Criminal Minds. His character will be bringing the team some info about ‘Scratch.” Shemar recently told ET that he wanted Morgan to call Penelope ‘Sugar tits’ instead of ‘baby girl” , but the writers wouldn’t go for that. He is also filming a CBS pilot reboot of S.W.A.T. The Criminal Minds finale airs on May 10.
*****Should we have to put up with Jeff Sessions and his lies about the Russian ambassador? We have direct evidence of deception. Comey made it official that the Trump camp is under investigation for possible collusion with the Russian involvement with the campaign. Funny that he always shot his mouth off about Hillary but was mum on this. The Republicans questioned Comey mostly about the leaks which is important but also a great distraction.  The FBI reveals that Russia did not even try to hide their tracks. It is possible they were just gathering and then when they dumped the info they went through an intermediary. **Sean Spicer claims that Paul Manafort, (who seems to have many ties to Russia and who ran the campaign for a time and ran the RNC) had a very limited role with the campaign.  The bugging of Trump tower was laid to rest but just not by scary clown and co. They seem to believe that GCHQ, British intelligence was involved as well. Why don’t the Republican Senators get some fucking balls and quit defending this freak? Let’s hone in on this Russian connection and get this freak out of there.**Ivanka is getting an office and top clearance? Is this an Edith Wilson situation? Does the family have to keep an eye on him? Is it time to face the sad fact that he may have dementia or a mental disorder? BTW Wendy Williams mentioned that she would rather be Tiffany than Ivanka because of all the responsibility and the whole wife and daughter thing going on. Tiffany gets to be out there living it up.  Love that!**Pence is no prize either, he is always behind Trump looking like a bobble head doll. Be aware if we end up with him!
*****Hillary B. Smith is on General Hospital for a stint. Oh how I missed ya, Nora!!
*****Everyone is giving backlash about cutting funding for PBS and meals on wheels. Mick Mulvaney, director of the office of management and budget tells us it is only a 3% cut but I am guessing we will now have 3% more hungry people. He explains that a lot of people do not want their tax dollars to fund the National endowment for the arts. I do not want mine to add millions to the military budget or Mar a Lago trips or Melania’s NY shutdown (the gossip is that Trump and the first lady are basically separated). They don’t seem to give a fuck about that.**It is so great that the ‘Trump health care plan’ fell apart but Pelosi and Hoyer et al. need to stop crowing and keep fighting against the rest of the crap the majority is trying to get by with and fix the things that need fine tuning on the ACA.
***** Does anybody else find Feud and The American’s Alison Wright absolutely irresistible?? She is so fabulous!!
*****It looks like Sears and Kmart may be in the verge of going out of business.
*****Jared Kushner’s role just gets bigger and bigger. He has been appointed to reconfigure the government and deal with the border wall and negotiate peace in the Middle East. One guy? OK!
***** CBS Sunday morning informed us about the wonders of Denmark. They do have the highest cancer rates and taxes but they have the highest wages and lowest poverty rates too. They live by the word Hygge which means live simply.
*****The White House did not even send an official rep to This Week, they just sent some old buddy of Trumps. Will they start to run out of new faces to defend them? ** Bret Stephens at the Wall Street Journal wrote, “The president clings to his assertions like a drunk to an empty gin bottle.” And Bill Moyers wrote,” There’s a smell of treason in the air.” Samantha Bee likens Trumps military spending to an insecure guy who tries to make his penis look bigger. Bill Maher wonders if constitutionalist Judge Gorsuch will wonder ‘What would the slaveholders do?’ Michael Moore wrote, “Historians in the near future will mark today,3-28-17, as the day the extinction of human life on earth began, thanks 2 Donald Trump.”** Donald Trump Jr. criticized the London Mayor after the attacks.
*****And just as Scary clown 45 signed the repeal to wipe out Obama’s climate change record, An inconvenient truth sequel Truth to Power is coming out.
*****The Rolling Stones are nominated for best blues act and best blues album in the Jazz FM awards.
*****There is no clean coal!
*****The Daytime Emmy’s were announced. The Talk and Ellen lead the pack with 8 nominations. There are 5 for the View and the announcement fucked up their names. I’ll be routing for CBS Sunday morning and CBS this morning. I can’t believe that The Pioneer woman was not nominated for outstanding culinary program. I guess I will route for Trisha’s Southern Kitchen. Days of our Lives was nominated for show, directing and writing. There was best actor noms for Billy Flynn (Chad) and Vincent Irizarry (Deimos). Kate Mansi (the old Abigail) was nominated for best supporting actress and John Aniston (Victor) for supporting actor. Go Days!!!
*****The small Illinois town of West Frankfurt stood up for Carlos Hernandez. Hernandez was picked up when the immigrant ban enforcers were looking for someone else. The town vouched for him and called this out as unfair.
*****The FDA has approved food to protect food. Edipeel is a spray made out of food that can put a thin shield on fruit and protect it 5 times longer than normal. It is edible and tasteless. It will be invaluable in places with no refrigeration and help with waste.
*****Patrick Stewart is applying for American citizenship to help with the fight we are having in here at home. Agitate..Agitate..Agitate.
*****Looks like NBC has given the greenlight to an Ellen DeGeneres game show.
*****Tom Hanks sent the White house press corps an espresso machine with a note that read: “Keep up the good fight for truth, justice and the American way. Especially for the truth part.” This is a tradition he started with the Bush administration.
*****Get ready for a Big band theory spinoff.
*****Steve Martin will teach an online comedy course. The cost is $90 on Masterclass. Others who have taught are Christina Aguilera, Kevin Spacey, James Patterson, Dustin Hoffman, Werner Herzog and Aaron Sorkin. They will soon be joined by Shonda Rhimes and Hans Zimmer.
***** Caterpillar was raided by the Feds which included the IRS, CID, Inspector General and export enforcement. Word is they may be indicted for tax evasion. This could be from a 2009 lawsuit alleging the company shifted profits overseas and to offshore shell companies to avoid paying more than 2 billion in taxes.
*****Hall and Oates and Tears for Fears are set to tour.
*****This time it’s real. You see warnings on the internet all the time about your privacy rights but this time look out! The Senate has voted to repeal a set of rules aimed at protecting online data. Once again the big companies win under this administration. This could let internet providers share info. New Jersey Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. states “At a time when our personal data is more vulnerable than ever, it’s baffling that senate republicans would eliminate the few privacy protections Americans have today.” The word is that millions are pouring in for their votes. Ted Cruz reportedly got 2 mil. We will be paying the big cable giants to sell our info to the highest bidder and this could keep the FCC from ever again establishing similar consumer privacy protections. And this from a man who wants privacy with his taxes. Some of the wealthy are claiming they will buy all the info of those that voted to sold us down the river and release it to the public.
*****Robert Redford has me excited about 2 films. The first is out now about the afterlife called The Discovery. It also stars Riley Keough, Mary Steenburgen, Jason Segel and Rooney Mara. The other has distribution rights just coming together. The Old man and the gun is the true story of a thief with Sissy Spacek, Danny Glover and Casey Affleck.
*****A tribute to the music of Merle Haggard will be held in Nashville with Keith Richards, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Loretta Lynn, The Avett Brothers, Alison Krauss and Billy Gibbons.
*****Microfiber is causing great problems with water pollution. I knew I hated fleece.
*****There has been an official request for scary clown’s tax returns.
*****”These are not good times.” –John McCain. McCain is also very worried that North Korea’s leader is not rational and needs to be handled. It is kind of frightening when our own leader is not rational.
*****Look for the live album Charlie Watts meets Danish Radio Big Band. The music which includes Stones covers was recorded in 2010 and will drop on April 21.
*****As soon as the ACA was saved, the blame game started! Scary clown and his cohorts blamed Washington for cancelling the health care vote stating that “It’s a lot more rotten than we thought.” Trump said “I’m glad it’s behind me” and then tweeted blame to the republicans and the democrats and the very conservative republicans and it just goes on. He invited us to watch his beloved friend Judge Jeanine who minced no words in that Paul Ryan needs to step down. He is adamant that he does not blame Ryan. Ok. Jeanine scolded that we all knew a businessman would not know how to legislate but he made it clear during the election that he knew more than anybody. Is the world  laughing at our “art of the deal”  tough New Yorker president who was suckered by the Wisconsin dude. Trump is like the armchair quarterback who is finally thrown into the game and does not have a clue. **Bannon bullied and threatened the night before the “vote”, telling the house members that they had no choice but it seemed to work against him and wouldn’t that be the President’s job? ** The topper was Colbert using the schoolhouse rock song, “I’m just a bill” which ended with the bill blowing his brains out.
*****Some high school kids came up with We Dine Together for the new or loner kids to make some new friends. Look it up and help to open chapters locally!!
*****Zac Brown is coming out with new music.
*****Trump has now rescinded the order Obama signed requiring firms that do business with the federal government prove compliance with federal laws and executive orders. This makes Trump look like he’s doing the right thing by leaving one of Obama’s executive orders in place that prohibits the federal government from contracting with firms that discriminate based on sexual orientation and gender identity. People from the LGBT community would have to take steps to enforce it now.** College basketball in North Carolina sort of forced the repeal of the bathroom law but they leave a regulation of bathroom access solely to the control of the legislature. It prevents local government from passing or amending their own non -discrimination ordinances pertaining to private employment.
*****There is a growing number of the French who want President Obama to run for President of France. It is possible if he were so inclined. One only has to be a resident, not a natural born citizen to run for President in Great Britain, Israel, Germany, France, Canada and France.
*****The Mount Kushmore Wellness retreat tour is coming to 16 cities with Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Cypress Hill, Method Man and Redman.

*****Who knew that Bryan Cranston dubbed a lot of the monster voices from Japanese to English for the original Power Rangers.
*****Dimitri Rybolovlev, a Russian fertilizer businessman bought a Trump home in Florida for twice what it was worth. This was the most expensive home sale in U.S. history.  He and the Presidents planes cross paths all the time though there have been many denials of this. A Russian ambassador was sitting in the front row of Trumps first press conference as President. Reports say that Scary clown went ballistic in the oval office when he discovered that Sessions recused himself. He left for Florida without his senior staff.** Now there is an inquiry about his business with an Iranian family known as the Corleoni’s of the Caspian.

*****Mischa Barton has filed a lawsuit over a sex tape that was filmed without her consent.
*****A tweet from Mcdonald’s had some pretty bad things to say about our President. The tweet was taken down in 20 minutes and they claim they were compromised.
*****Days alert: Did we see Nicole on the run with that poor baby? She is more street smart than to be taken advantage of by a street hustler at the little hotel. C’mon! I hate it when characters I like leave and the way they write them off seems more exciting than when they were there. Like, I want to see Teresa’s character on her secret adventure right now. I am sick of Chad thinking about Gabby moments from his past, enough! And then bam!!,  Deimos hits him where it hurts. Since Roman has retired, are they putting him in charge of the Brady Pub? I think that is perfect, he wants to take it a little easier and everybody’s favorite meeting place in Salem needs the next generation to take over.** Everyone in this country was talking about health care but I think most soap characters must have great insurance. Especially lately on Days, transplants, cancer, poisoning.. the hospital has been full up.** Hooray.. Adrienne picked Lucas, it’s about fucking time!!
*****Ben Affleck is recently out of rehab.

*****Can we all vote by mail yet?? What is the problem??
*****Looks like Kyle Bush is a bit of a hot head. He went after Joey Lagano after a race.
*****The Japanese prime minister was telling us what happened in some meetings he had with the Pres. I guess we are getting official news by way of Japan now since scary clown tells us nothing of any real importance.
*****Will Scary Clown 45 bring war as a jobs program? Where are the jobs he promised? There are many empty offices in Washington right now that could be filled with employed workers. He has many jobs to give and he won’t do it and they are firing people left and right. Look at the money we spend on getting him to Mir a Lago and the delusional investigations he wants into wiretapping etc. Just think of what a poor family could do with that money. This administration is gutting the EPA and that is just the beginning. The only good news is the stock market is up. He really behaves more like a cult leader than a President. He talks only in front of the people who worship him. I’m sure he can’t believe his dumb luck that so many Americans are uninformed. He communicates in “facts” that only he seems to understand. He sends out his minions to spread HIS intellectual pollution back to their audience of one. Charles Manson is of ill health and perhaps is not long for this world so I guess scary clown 45 is the new evil, the deplorables are the new ‘family’.
*****The liberal rednecks of comedy make me wonder when those raised with hate and or narrow teachings will rebel against their parents and become liberals filled with acceptance.
*****What is all this touching on late night talk shows?
*****Climate March on March 29. Scientists March on April 22.
*****Charlie Rose is back.
*****”The level of complete corruption from the fossil fuel industry that marks this administration is like nothing we’ve ever seen.”- Environmentalist Bill Mckibben.
*****What kind of a person could actually believe that a ‘billionaire’ who has tried to buy up sanctuaries to put up more towers with his name on them would help the environment? Will these same people who allowed themselves to be whipped up into a frenzy of fear and anxiety love it when Yellowstone disappears? Well, they do seem to be on board with everything else so perhaps they don’t care. The pain of this election is unbearable but will some good come of it? Will he and friends who say no to everything that isn’t their idea or does not help the richest of us learn anything from this? Will their eyes be open to what it really feels like when they all get on top of you? I mean are they capable of seeing what it really fucking feels like? If they hate government so much, why do they want to be a part of it? Well, of course to tip the scales in their favor.
*****Arnold Schwarzenegger has quit Celebrity Apprentice.
*****The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News and Time will not attend White House briefings if other outlets (CNN, New York Times etc.) are not allowed in. Good for them but perhaps they need to keep working behind the scenes on digging for the truth about scary clown 45 but not reporting every little thing he distracts us with. For instance the ‘wiretap’ stuff is proven wrong so quit talking about it and move on!** Rex Tillerson told a reporter, “I didn’t want this job.” Sources say Tillerson shuffles in and out through back doors ignoring important diplomats and his minions are not allowed to look him in the eye. Tell me this is not true!
*****Sam Rodriguez Jr., who led a prayer at the Trump Inauguration is giving a safe haven to those worried about immigration raids. His New Season Christian Worship Center also gives shelter to victims of domestic violence.

*****The 9th season of RuPauls drag race is here!
*****Florida has a wheel of fugitives that spin to focus in on certain missing law breakers.
*****The new health care plan is loaded with massive tax cuts for the rich and no budget for it. The AMA and AARP do not support it. They kept a little of the good parts of Obamacare and changed wording on some things that Dems had wanted and they had previously refused. Estimates say that 60% of Trump voters will get their repeal of the ACA but it will cost them more for health care. Big drug companies get a healthy tax break and it is like a gift to insurance companies. All the Obama haters that wanted everything repealed sound a little mixed on the tax breaks for the rich. Did they not realize that the money was coming from somewhere? It is bad enough when I see people believe a story or two from the enquirer or wonder about a conspiracy theory but the things that pass for fact in the White House is delusional. The swamp is thriving just fine!
*****Lizzie Borden is coming to the big screen with Chloe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart.
*****OMG.. The new Twin peaks has added Laura Dern, Michael Cera and Jennifer Jason Leigh!!!!
*****Way to go Ted Koppel for giving Sean Hannity a reality check. Somebody has to be the voice of reason.
*****We still don’t know much about season 7 of American Horror Story. The cast gathered at the Paley center to talk about last season. It looks like it may be about the 2016 election and we know that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are on board and that it will come back in the fall.

*****A DC restaurant filed suit against the Trump hotel across the street.
*****The whole ‘Janet Jackson has a daughter’ thing is back in the news.
*****In Cold Blood killer Dick Hickock wrote his own manuscript, with some help from Kansas City journalist Mack Nations called The High Road to Hell and it has just now surfaced. Before Hickock was executed, it seems that Truman Capote would not have wanted it published. Random House had a deal with Capote and some digging has shown that he fought against the other publication.
*****The new Avatar land, Pandora in Florida looks like Summer camp and it will open around the same time at the end of May.
*****Conan tweets have been on fire lately.
*****Ski joring that mixes skiing with horses is becoming more popular. I expect to see my cousin Cat doing it real soon.
*****A study of 6,000 UK teens showed that high achieving students were 50% more likely to use Marijuana occasionally.
*****Worldwide poverty has been cut in half.
*****Tomi Lahren has been suspended from her show Tomi on The Blaze network. She told the ladies of The View that she is pro -choice. Glenn Beck has spoken out against her. The network tag line is ”a platform for a new generation of authentic and unfiltered voices.” Hmmm.
*****Can’t wait for The Pollinator from Blondie. The new LP drops on May 5 with some help from Joan Jett, Laurie Anderson and Dev Hynes.
***** So.. Obama could not even get his Supreme Court nominee looked at but a President who is under investigation expects his pick to sail right thru?
*****Studies show that Subway chicken is only 50% chicken.
*****How wonderful that Michael Moore is showing Taylor Hackford’s Hail Hail Rock ‘n Roll in his Michigan theatre to honor Chuck Berry.
***** Look for Michael Nesmith’s new book and cd,  Infinite Tuesday: Autobiographical riffs!
*****R.I.P. Robert Osborne, Fred Weintraub, Joni Sledge, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Breslin, Chuck Barris. Robert James Walker, the victims of the London attack,

We’ve run our 11 Best Single Issues Of The Year. Well now, Rich Johnston and the Bleeding Cool writers (not Jude) give you 11 collections and graphic novels to reflect on as we say good riddance to 2016 and welcome 2017 with nervous worry.
Eliot Cole
Doctor Who: A Matter Of Life And Death by George Mann, Emma Vieceli and Hi-Fi.
I don’t have quite as much to say here as I did in my “lack of words” on A-Force #4, but I find this Eighth Doctor collection just the lovely example of (a) comics and (b) what could’ve been with the best of all the doctors. George Mann’s stories are each self contained, following the fantastic journey of Josie, and how she becomes part of Eight’s life. Each story was a book, and was self contained, but lends well to the whole. I wrote 3 sentences on George Mann’s awesome plotting (and such), and having a good take on 8 but they amounted to that word, “awesome.” Emma Vieceli’s trademarked panelling design compel you through this beautifully, I could genuinely read pencils of this quality on anything. Ms. Vieceli is surely meant for the greatest of things. Do yourself a favour and check out Titan’s Eighth Doctor Collection.

The Fix Vol.1-Where Beagles Dare by Nick Spencer, Lieber, Ryan Hill, and Nic J Shaw
I actually was starting to feel a little burnt out by Image this year. Quite a few of their series were blending together and felt to be covering quite a bit of the same ground. That all changed when I picked up The Fix. This series, with its dry, sarcastic humor and panels that you have to study to catch every little  gag in the details very quickly became one of my favorites. And I mean, Pretzels. How can you not love a dog like Pretzels??? Every issue gets better and better, and hopefully it runs for a very long time.
Hannah Means-Shannon
Aleister & Adolf by Douglas Rushkoff, Michael Avon Oeming, and Nate Piekos
This book has been an outlier on many press radars, but it’s one of those densely crafted, significant works that hopefully will be the gift that keeps on giving, showing comic creators and fans what new directions in the medium can be taken. Written by powerhouse social critic Douglas Rushkoff and drawn by the endlessly original Michael Avon Oeming the book tracks a fictional account of Aleister Crowley’s media wars with Adolf Hitler based on a few key historical facts. It follows the life of a young military reporter assigned to Crowley through the course of “sigil” developments, like the swastika by the Nazis and V for Victory by Churchill in the war over human minds during WWII. Rushkoff’s characterization, research, and narrative framing devices, combined with Oeming’s emotive and often highly symbolic artwork make sure this book has something significant to say about the ongoing role of symbolism and propaganda in the way we see the world around us. It might just remind you of the dangers and the positive powers of belief and focus to influence any struggle, even on an international level. Aleister & Adolf may be about the second World War, but it’s highly relevant to our times and makes for a thought-provoking, and at times disturbing, read.
Joe Glass
The Wicked + The Divine Deluxe Hardcover by Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie, Matthew Wilson and Clayton Cowles.
I mean, just look at it.
Let’s not even go into the story or anything yet, just take in this huge, black, hot foiled beauty! You can read comics on your train to work looking like you’re reading out of some mystic grimoire of mystery!
Plus, it contains Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie, Matthew Wilson and Clayton Cowles’ incredible series of pop stars as gods and the hard price of fame (it kinda kills you in the end, which 2016 proved in force really, didn’t it?). Collecting the first two story arcs, plus loads of behind the scenes materials and a good chunk of Gillen’s breakdowns of the book, it makes for the absolute best purchase for fans of the series.
And it just looks sexy as hell on a book shelf!

Huck by Mark Millar and Rafael Albuquerque.
Surprising myself, and after a great deal of thought, I have picked Huck Vol. 1 by Mark Millar and Rafael Albuquerque as the best graphic novel/collection for 2016. I started reading the monthly issues, up to the second, and I somehow fell off. But I did know I’d catch up on the trade when it gets released. And boy was I glad I waited. The story, collected, had a pace that was missing during its monthly run, and the character development proved to be near-perfect. Early comparisons to Superman did no justice to the story of a small town resident who’s revealed to have some truly awesome powers, of course with disastrous results. The art – oh, boy the art – is beautiful, aided by perfect colours and it sets the tone the right way. There’s almost a Spielberg-ian sense of wonder and adventure to the tale, enough to make me ignore the irritation that is an editing error which portrayed a factual kidnapping of schoolgirls by insurgents as having happened in East Africa, when the stated Sambisa Forest is in Nigeria, in West Africa. You could say it was personal for me. That aside – and I truly enjoy most of the Millarworld books – Huck is my absolute favorite.
Marilyn Weiss
Nameless City by Faith Erin Hicks
I was so excited for this graphic novel to be released, it was easily one of the highlights of my reading this year. We meet Kaidu, a recent arrival to the Nameless City, and son of the latest ruling clan, Dao. As he trains to become a warrior, his adventurous nature drives him into the city, where he meets up with the lovable, street wise Rat. Hicks did an amazing job creating a detailed world that I would love to explore and get lost in. I can tell that there are so many stories hiding within the city, just waiting to be told. I would gladly hand this book to any fan of comics, be they young or old. The sequel, The Stone Heart will be out in April 2017.

Patience by Dan Clowes
I’m a sucker for a post-modern time travel story. See my love for least year’s There’s No Time Like The Present by Paul Rainey. And Dan Clowes gives us actual plottage with Patience. A story of rags to – well not exactly riches, but a different state of being, as the newly pregnant young Patience is murdered, a series of events that destroys her partner, Jack. It’s his attempts to “put right what once went wrong” and the calamitous consequences of his actions, digging his own grave – or Patience’s  – deeper and deeper that drive this book forward. Or backwards. Which means you’ll have to reread it the moment you finish for that Sixth Sense experience. But for all that it’s the attitude of Jack, the anti-Hollywood hero that sets this apart, refusing to follow the obvious tropes or experiencing triumphs – or disasters as he may be expected to.
And the devil is always in the details. Clowes has always had a style that grabs the eye, gives it direction and pulls it forward, the narrator grip in full effect. Here every object in every panel could have serious significance that you will need that second – or third reading to pick up on it.
Toward a Hot Jew by Miriam Libicki
You know those overnight sensations who have been working hard at the craft for decades? That’s Miriam Libicki. In something that resembles the missing link between Marjane Satrapi and Joe Sacco, her autobiographical work exploring her Jewish identity, attractiveness and the reaction of those around her, whether as a Israeli soldier or a professor of art, this collection of a decade’s work jumps from illustrated essay to comic book panels, exploring the medium, the tools to create the work and express inner neurosis as beautifully – and as ugly – as possible.
Black Dog: The Dreams of Paul Nash by Dave McKean
Art about art – Dave McKean creating a comic about war artist Paul Nash, and how that artist turned the worst extremes of humanity into art that illuminated the mind. And then how it affected the young Dave McKean, and how his work has existed in relation to that of Paul’s. This is a giant standing on the shoulder of another giant and between them they can see so much about us. An incredibly moving masterpiece, and stands alongside McKean’s Cages, as an exploration of the effect of art on both the viewer and the artist themselves. Psychologically complex and using the very strictures of comic book panels, speech, character positions to demonstrate so much of what we are.
Rolling Blackouts by Sarah Glidden
Another example of comic book journalism, Sarah Glidden takes a trip to the Middle East with an eye on America’s influence on the region, travelling through Syria, Iraq and Turkey. But its also an examination of journalism itself, as Sarah is accompanying two “proper journalists” as they look at the effect of the Iraq War and of its refugees, so it also becomes a procedural for the profession as well – especially when they are joined by a friend and a US soldier who served in Iraq. And it suddenly gets a whole lot more awkward. Something that is made more palatable by Sarah’s soft watercolors, a different look than we might have otherwise expected.
Everyone has a story to tell. It turns out that’s as much true of the journalists as it is those they report on.
Clean Room Vol 1: Immaculate Conception by Gail Simone, Jon Davis-Hunt and Quinton Winter.
For some reason I never find The Walking Dead comic as gross as I do the TV show. I occasionally wondered if that was a creative choice of the limitations of the medium? Well, Clean Room answered that. It really is something very nasty indeed. Writer Gail Simone has rarely been given the chance to operate at this level. And she choosing the tack of making the people far scarier than the Entities that are meant to be threatening them, in terms of the moral choices they hold. Jon Davis-Hunt’s choices of style are also a surprise, eschewing the darkness for something brighter, more visible and cleaner. This is horror with the strip lighting turned up and refusing to blink.
It also takes suicide head on, as something fuelling the survivors, and as psychological as that is, the comic is never afraid to shlock-horror out, embracing that aspect rather than being embarrassed about it. It’s the combination of both approaches that elevates this title above the norm and makes it something special. And the way it buolds from issue only helps the trade paperback – even if you are denied the pain of waiting from month to month for cliffhangers to resolve.
Buy this for the Scientologist in your life. And then get Gail Simone to write Crossed.

WELCOME TO PLATONIC PALS PUNCHOUT!
If Saturday cartoons taught us anything it’s that The Power Of Friendship is the ultimate weapon that can defeat any obstacle! But can it defeat…other friendships!?
This tournament pits Dynamic Duo vs Dynamic Duo to see who has the Ultimate Friendship. They will do this by punching other pairs in the face winning polls!
Round 3 Part 3 is up! :D After this I have a ~special~ poll for you all about how we'll handle the semi-finals & finals! Congrats to Round 3's winners! Before I make the semi-finals & finals, please let me know how you'd like me to post them :)
Tied polls will perform the "befriend your enemy" trope and team up! They need to be within 1% of each other to qualify as a tie.
[Part 1 matchups image] [Part 2 matchups image] [Part 3 matchups image]

👉Absolutely DO NOT comment things like “These characters are totally dating!” This is an aro-safe space & insisting that 2 characters someone sees as platonic are ~actually dating~ is cruel. If you genuinely believe someone cheated & submitted an unqualified duo, DM or send me an ask. (Also: characters who date after a long friendships are allowed if emphasis is on the friendship)
(Note: I will NOT be going out of my way to organize every single piece of propaganda, bc that is WAY too much work. However, I will reblog all propaganda that comes to my attention, & I will answer all propaganda asks.)
Shameless self-plug: if you like my me, please check out my [YouTube channel] where I do art & science education, or my [Warriors/art tumblr]. You can also donate to [my ko-fi] to help me afford my meds & food. Thank you!!
