Wisptober Day 14: Amber
"As you take the last few steps towards the nameless gravestone, you notice them looking at you with those amber eyes."
A bit farther from the theme if you just look at the picture but I was happy to do a spooky thing!:D

Rockieey with a ponytail.
"She got hot, so she had to put her hair up. She tried but it didn't work, so she had to ask one of her comrades (friends) for a little help."
…
Rockieey loved the hairstyle. ♥️

In truth, this was a trial run for what ended up being the next angelic critter in the series, but it wasn't working out as well as I'd wanted. I was going for something more abstract and anatomically wonky. So yes, it looks like his wings are on backwards, and there's ruffles layered into the feathers, and beads, and spiny-grassy things, and it's an asymmetrical nightmare. I enjoyed it immensely, even if the end result reads definitely a little bit off.
I made this with ink, watercolor, Prismacolor pencil, and the trusty gold paint pen.

Husk gets hurt/drunk/incoherent one night at the hotel and picks up Fat Nuggets, cradling him gently in his arms, telling the little pig in the most serious voice: "I'm gonna be your daddy one day."

...I don't remember if I used this as a Christmas card design or not. It's not quite the tone I would have liked to send to family and friends - it's a bit darker and weirder than I was comfortable sending out at the time. Then again, I might have done. I get into weird moods around the end of the year and sometimes decided not to worry about what anyone else thinks - "Hey, y'all get that weird card I sent last week? Yeah, that was the Christmas card for this year. Cheers."
I wanted an unusual color scheme to go with the murky-lake colors of the watercolor background. So green and lavender won the day. It was fun to get all the colors to play nicely together. It was also fun making the angel with borderline body horror in mind. Heh.
Prismacolor pencils over watercolor.
