some backstory under cut:

so! the “castaway” is… not one. they’re a young water wraith, who found the suit of the castaway in it some time after said castaway died, and decided to slip into it, perhaps after observing alive castaways in suits and being curious.

two pikmin later encountered them, believing them to be a castaway. however the two soon realized they had been mistaken. Railroad (the glow) initially elected to attack them, but Aurora (the ice) was younger and hadn’t faced any wraiths like Railroad had in the past, so they were much more trusting. that, and the fact that the wraith didn’t show any aggression and seemed to be young swayed Railroad to not attack them, though the glow pikmin was still apprehensive.

on the wraith’s suit, the pikmin noticed a nametag spelling out “Wegie” and so that is what they would call the wraith.

and that’s the backstory! might do more stuff with them all in the future hehe

also, Railroad is named after railroad worms, which are bioluminescent beetle larvae, and Wegie is named after a nickname for the Norwegian Forest Cat, because those cats are very adapted to the cold and I thought naming them after a cat was appropriate to distinguish them from all the Pikmin 4 castaways which are named after dogs

this is my old cat, Lola, who passed away about six years ago ^^ we always assumed that she was a norwegian forest cat, because she was HUGE and HEAVY while being a healthy weight. she was also very motherly to me when i was little. Unfortunately this is the only picture I have of her right now, but doesn't she look sweet? :)

Oh she looks like such a sweetheart! Can't confirm that she was a wegie tho as sometimes cats just get big haha. She's black with medium white!

I think the difference in how cats of different personalities react to small children is interesting. We had two cats when I was young that are no longer with us, but one of them was very tolerant of me and my antics and was content to sit and let me play with his fluffy tail, while the other was very much on edge all the time and Did Not Like this loud Beast in her house.

I wrote these to cope with really bad cramps

-Once when they were camping, they sat around the campfire and had a whole conversation about how Noctis basically has constant diarrhea. Because of his awful diet.

-It started with Noctis walking away from camp and then coming back and saying "My stomach's acting up." And then Prompto, almost annoyed, commented "Dude it always is. You eat only sugar, remember?" And then Gladio officially got the conversation going by asking Noctis "When's the last time you had a proper solid sh*t? Ever?" Ignis sighed through it all.

-Ignis once sneezed during a meeting and it was messy. He blocks out the memory. Regis even laughed.

-Prompto missed a step and fell while walking up the stairs in Lestallum, and his face smacked right into Gladio's ass.

-Those kids that play on the stairs started laughing.

-Prompto looked like a tomato for at least 30 minutes.

-Noctis once choked on water 6 sips in a row. Regis was trying to tell him something important and he had to wait for him to stop choking each time it happened.

-Gladio got frustrated one time because they were in Lestallum again and it was the millionth time he heard Noctis say it was hot, so he wrestled his shirt off of him himself.

-People walking by wondered if they should do something and Ignis had to tell them each that everything was okay.

-After they defeated one of those giant bull things, Prompto couldn't decide whether to shout "Yay" or "Yes!". So the sound he made was a mixture that just sounded like "YYYEEAAOOOEHY"

-Gladio laughed so hard he cried.

-Clarus accidentally called Regis "Wegis" and now Regis calls him "Cwawus" every now and then so he never forgets

-Noctis was walking down the stairs in the Citadel while holding a bowl of oatmeal. He slipped and fell and he was okay, but the bowl flew out of his hands and smashed into the floor at the bottom of the stairwell and it was a huge mess.

-Ignis had a brain fart while he has at a fast food drive through and when the person asked him what he wanted he just said "Hey". It took him a moment to come back to reality.

-At the Citadel, Noctis was pretending that the hallway was a runway, and he was doing the sexiest walk that he could, just for fun. And he became horrified when Cor silently walked past him, realizing that he'd been behind him the whole time.

-Ravus takes pole dancing classes and thinks that nobody knows. Luna knows, and she decided to attend one of his classes without his knowledge, to support him and cheer him on. When she walked in he almost decided to kick a hole through the wall and escape.

Here's my prediction for the start of the Mario movie.

It will open with the penguin scene. After Bowser says "Who's gonna stop me!!" it will smash cut to the mario bros plumbing van. It will be driving down the streets of New Donk City with the title showing overhead. Then a montage with the bros going around town and fixing different plumbing problems till they end up at city hall with Pauline. She'll tell them about something clogging up the city's water pipes underground. Mario and Luigi go and check it out and as they look for the clog Luigi asks Mario if he ever wished that their life was more exciting. Before Mario can answer he finds the clog and pulls it. Suddenly the bros are swept away in a wave of water. They end up near a large door with strange symbols on it. Mario goes to open it but Luigi says that they shouldn't as he has a bad feeling abut it, but Mario blows his concern off saying "Come on Wegie I thought you wanted some excitement in our lives!" Mario pushes the door open with a grunt and all that's in the room is a single green pipe sticking out of the center of the room. Mario alleviates his brothers worry by saying, "See nothing but a busted old pipe." Luigi starts to walk up to the pipe, noting how it looks different from any other pipe he has seen. Mario waves it off thinking that it's just some old handmade one or something and begins to wander around the room unknowingly stepping on some tiles with similar markings as the door, a penguin, a strange dinosaur, a pyramid, a banana, a turtle shell, and a mushroom. As he does this Luigi heads to the center of the room and inspects the strange pipe. Just as Luigi takes a look into the pipe itself Mario steps on a tile with a star on it. As soon as this happens the tiles begin to glow. The glow quickly spreading to the pipe. Mario noticing this calls out to his brother. Luigi takes his head out of the pipe but leaves his hand in asking, "What?" Suddenly the glow reaches the pipe and a light bursts out of it and Luigi is to suprised to move as the pipe quickly sucks him in. Mario yells out his brothers name and dives into the pipe head first.

HI! sorry for the silly question, but since you're always so nice in answering questions I thought of you… But do the skaters wear pantyhose during the competitions?! in some cases I think it's noticeable, but for example I don't think Tessa ever wore them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Haha (no it’s not a silly question I like convos about all these little insider/trade secrets 😄). yes they do- just about all of them do (I can’t think of an instance I’ve seen when someone hasn’t). And yes Tessa always did- she just happened to wear ones that were very well matched to her skin colour (so very pale)- which I love btw because it’s super distracting when they wear stockings that don’t match their actual skin tone. That makes it hard to tell that she is.

It’s the same with some of her dresses that have invisible mesh, eg mahler. For the longest time I thought she just had it Hollywood taped down, but in some pictures only- incredibly hard to see on video, there’s a piece of verryyy faint mesh. Same thing with her Sochi dresses with that kind of halter style.

Here you can faintly see the difference in tones in a straight like where the straps meet the actual dress, and even harder to see on the bottom two pics where her neck line starts:

Here in MR, (I’ve circled it because it’s so hard to see) the top of her stockings just poking out.

You can also see in this picture how well her stockings (sorry that what I call pantyhose) is matched to her actual skin tone.

She also (for the majority of her career) would sew herself into her dresses, namely her leotard (part of her dress) to her stockings which is maybe the easiest way to tell that she’s wearing them:

(I swear i’ve seen pictures where you can see it clearer but this will do) (also I’m not gonna circle it because I don’t want any sickos to come along and get any ideas) but if you look at the line of her leotard you can see it notches out at one point- that’s where it’s sewed down. This is to prevent it riding up and causing a.. wegie 🫣🤭, but that can be a big distraction let alone uncomfortable and with the type of partnering they do, especially the lycra against synthetic pantyhose material can slip. She wouldn’t do this for shows where she has to change costumes lots of times but for competition where she’s in them for a bit longer, as far as I’ve seen she almost always did this.

They wear pantyhose mostly for hygiene purposes but also the cold of the rink. When you fall on ice hard and if your skin isn’t protected (even lightly) for eg on your knee it can cause quite ugly and painful scrapes/scars/lacerations. As well for the partnered disciplines where the girls are often upside down, and considering this is a sport that is shown on TV, it just gives a little extra.. safe guard/protection (I can’t think of a better word to use) for the women. I don’t believe it’s mandatory for them to wear pantyhose but the majority, if not all of them do. We might see this start to change more now with pants/unitards allowed in the free dance (it used to only be for certain RD/SD/OD styles, eg hip hop/blues, where the women could wear pants but it’s now being allowed in the FD no matter the style (I’m not sure about other RD rhythms).
