After watching Jenna at The Tonight Show I feel my positiveness and my trust coming back. I am truly rejoicing.
There is this "And then get Wednesday out of the romantic situation and just let her be her own individual" which is really tempting.
Romance would have been impossible in season 2 anyway considering what happened to her in episode 8 - my friends, she was left dying alone in a crypt and then Hyde tried to kill her anyway in the woods. Am I the only one who can't move from the scene of her stabbed in the crypt?
After all of that, romance was impossible on many levels.
For me what's really important in S2 is to find the base for Tyler's redemption arc and to see writers exploring his feelings for Wednesday, as they promised in an interview.
Then, we can talk again about the future of weyler in season 3.
Jenna said they (the writers) are getting her out of the romantic situation, well romantic situation in season 2 could have been only Xavier or Enid. I am happy to receive confirmation that in season 2 Xavier is moving on and that Enid stays as her friend for now. Those were the only romantic things available.
Tyler is another story, Tyler is primal attraction, after Hyde tried to kill her the road back to love is long and I agree that Wednesday should be her own individual first - as Tyler should be too and wins over his Hyde personality.
Tyler and Wednesday need to be friends again before anything else. The primal attraction is just a plus we are getting in their scenes, pretty sure about this too.
Sexual tension is indispensable in any respecting horror.
We need Tyler and Wednesday to be two proper individuals before facing love again or the whole relationship will end up being very messy - as it happens in all rom-com series and actually as it would be in real life too.
So what we really need in season 2 is mostly unresolved sexual tension and I am in. I sign it now and forever because I know these 2 can give me that:
