Museum Wayang Jakarta.

Ke Kota Tua Jakarta, ga mampir ke museum sekitarnya uda wajib. Entah uda berapa kali kunjung museum wayang, tapi ga ada bosennya. Sayangnya museum ini ga ada nampilin sesuatu yang baru baik itu koleksi, atau ya perbaikan dari segi display nya. Menyedihkannya Masuk ke dalam cukup pengap sekali, kondisi penyejuk ruangannya ga maksimal. Dengan kondisi cuaca Jakarta yang terik diluar, bisa bayangin gmna gerahnya.

Tapi gue selalu suka kesini melihat detail dari tiap wayang yang ada di Nusantara, bahkan detail beberapa wayang/Puppets dari culture negara lain..

Saat ini kawasan Kota Tua masih dan trus bersolek dan sudah ada sebagian dampaknya, Tapi klo bisa jangan lupakan kondisi museum-museum, Bangunan yang ada di sekitarnya..

General Information Indonesia is a country in South East Asia. It consists of over 17.000 islands. The region has been inhabited since prehistory and began to appear in foreign trade records around 2.000 years ago. During medieval times, several kingdoms such as Srivijaya or later Majapahit flourished here. From the 16th century, European powers such as Portugal, the Netherlands, and Britain developed a strong interest in gaining control over the region’s trade. The Netherlands became the most dominant and ruled over the Dutch East Indies from 1800 until the Japanese invasion of 1942. After the Japanese surrender in 1945, nationalist leaders proclaimed the independence of Indonesia, which was officially recognized by the Netherlands in 1949. Following the authoritarian rule of Sukarno and Suharto, Indonesia democratized in 1998, when Suharto resigned after a series of protests. The 275.4 Million Indonesians are of diverse ethnic backgrounds, with hundreds of languages spoken and a long history marked by interactions between Austronesians, Melanesians, as well as traders from all over Asia and Europe. Austronesian languages such as the official language Indonesian are the most widely spoken. Around 80 to 90 percent of inhabitants are Muslim. The capital is Jakarta.

Wayang Wayang is the traditional puppet theatre of the island of Java. It’s divided into several types such as Wayang kulit (shadow puppets made of leather), Wayang golek (three-dimensional wooden rod puppets) or Wayang klitik (shadow puppets made of wood). Wayang performances are held for many occasions such as birthdays, Javanese weddings, Balinese prayer rituals or the Indonesian Independence day.

Balinese dance The island of Bali is famous for its dances. They’re classified into three types: Wali, sacred dances which in their original non-modified form are only allowed to be performed during temple ceremonies, Bebali, semi-sacred dances, which are often used for temple rituals but also allowed to be performed outside of this setting, and Balih-Balihan, dances for social or entertainment occasions. Some of the most famous dances are the Barong, symbolizing the eternal battle between good and evil and notable for the big lion costume used, the Legong performed by two girls of the Kecak, adapted from the Ramayana epic and usually featuring at least 150 male dancers.

Economy The economy of Indonesia is the largest in Southeast Asia and is one of the emerging market economies. As a middle income country and member of the G20, Indonesia is classified as a newly industrialized country. It is the 17th largest economy in the world by nominal GDP and the 7th largest in terms of GDP (PPP). Estimated at US$40 billion in 2019, Indonesia's Internet economy is expected to cross the US$130 billion mark by 2025. Indonesia depends on domestic market and government budget spending and its ownership of state-owned enterprises (the central government owns 141 enterprises). The administration of prices of a range of basic goods (including rice and electricity) also plays a significant role in Indonesia's market economy. However, since the 1990s, the majority of the economy has been controlled by individual Indonesians and foreign companies.

Yellow jackets You can find unusual outfits present in students’ communities in Jakarta, namely the yellow jackets. The yellow jacket became the symbol of the students’ revolt against the communists and Sukarno. After Sukarno was removed, I used to wear the yellow jacket as a sort of protection, as a clear sign that I was anticommunist. The pogroms against the Chinese,  which had already begun beginning of October 1965 for those living in the periphery, occurred also in Jakarta in 1967.
